About You

We are looking for someone who is proactive and highly organised, with great communication skills that can build relationships with all key stakeholders, both internal and external. This role is suited to an experienced HR Manager who: 

• Has strong knowledge of HR processes, policies and procedures as well as employment laws, regulations & best practices. 

• Can create fair and consistent HR Policies and procedures, regularly conduct audits to identify areas of non-compliance and ensure accurate records are maintained. 

• Can lead operational planning and budgeting. 

• Has a forward thinking and inspirational vision for the role of HR in a charitable organisation. 

• Has a vision for how working practices and culture can develop for the better.

• Has a proven commitment to the principles and practices of access in the workplace and have excellent knowledge of current issues in of EDI and can implement EDI principles and policies. 

• Is able to successfully balance the needs of the individual (compassion) with the operational and ambitious needs of the organisation. 

• Has experience of supporting and developing managers through change. 

• Is CIPD qualified.

Our Location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, you will be required to attend the Hatfield office once a week and monthly directorate meetings. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE

o To provide a high-quality homecare service that support the rights of our clients to live the lives they choose in a person-centred way

o Efficiently manage the day to day running of the Homecare charity including:

· Allocate resources and monitor performance to deliver high quality homecare to clients within budget

· Manage all aspects of the staff team and provide sound leadership to ensure staff are clear about their respective duties and responsibilities and have the support they need to carry out their roles safely and happily

RESPONSIBILITIES

o Manage the safety and quality of the service in line with legislative requirements and charity’s policy and procedures

o Undertake training and development to keep up to date with the law, best practice and changes in company policy. Apply this knowledge to day-to-day management and delivery of care

o Understand and monitor health and safety in the workplace and in the field. Act as lead for infection prevention and control

o Maintain full and accurate records and reporting systems in accordance with legal requirements and to ensure the effective running of the service. 

o Implement quality management and improvement systems. Effectively manage complaints and incidents. Carry out investigations relating to the quality of the service and use findings to make improvements

o Implement company policy and procedures in relation to managing absence, disciplinary, capability and grievance matters

This exciting new role in our award-winning External Affairs Department will fight for the hospice sector and people who need their care and support.

This is a critical time for hospice and end of life care. Hospices across the UK are in the worst financial situation they have faced for 20 years. The funding crisis means hospices are cutting services and making redundancies.

But this is also a time of significant political opportunity. The Assisted Dying Bill has placed palliative care firmly on the agenda. We have recently secured £100m of emergency funding for the sector in England and the 10-year health plan has identified hospices as central to the shift from hospital to community. 

To seize this once in a generation opportunity, we are expanding our UK-wide policy and public affairs team from six to eight, including a new Policy and Public Affairs Manager. 

We are looking for a proactive and driven policy and public affairs professional with excellent influencing and communication skills. You will have your finger on the pulse and have strong policy and political knowledge that enables you to quickly understand and analyse the impact of external developments. 

You will be curious about how best to improve people’s experiences of death, dying and bereavement and strengthen the contribution of the hospice sector to this. As well as collaborative and committed to building coalitions to maximise our impact.

Main Objectives

· To oversee the smooth running of the Law Centre

· To ensure we have the right systems in place to support staff to work efficiently.  

· To identify opportunities to use tech to support our mission.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Coordination

• Oversee the Law Centre’s IT systems to ensure they are secure, efficient, and meet the organisation's needs.
• Manage and develop the Law Centre's case management system to ensure it supports the effective delivery of services and reporting requirements.
• Liaise with external IT providers to coordinate maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Identify and implement opportunities for digital transformation and improved operational efficiency.
• Complete the annual Cyber Essentials return, ensuring that the organisation maintains the highest level of data security.
• Ensure the Law Centre makes use of the most appropriate and cost effective equipment, systems and software.
• Providing basic training to staff on systems and tools
• Maintain the asset register.

2. Systems

· Lead on our paperless working processes

· Ensure that our Sharepoint site is set up logically and with the correct permissions in place.

· Develop our Sharepoint site in order that it functions as an intranet for sharing information internally.

· Negotiate and manage our contracts with printing providers

· Maintain regular reviews of the systems we’re using, assessing whether they are fit for purpose or not and whether there are alternative products which represent better value for money.

· Manage the organisation’s telephony.

3.  Data and Reporting

• Maintain a clear overview of the data collected by the organisation.
• Prepare reports from the case management system and other data collection tools to feed into reports and funding bids.
• Develop new reports to feed into our billing and accountancy as well as various audits.
• Review and analyse the organisation’s data to understand trends and to assist with service development.
• Play an integral role in using data to communicate the impact of the organisation.

4. Data Protection

· Overall responsibility for the data protection obligations of the organisation.

· Keeping abreast of changes and updates to Data Protection legislation.

· Delivering regular training to staff on Data Protection.

5. Finance and Billing

· Support the finance manager and practice manager by ensuring all systems are optimised for efficiency.

· Liaising with our payroll provider, responsible for running monthly payroll accurately, including keeping track of new starters and leavers.

· Support casework staff with training and technical solutions to allow them to bill files efficiently.

· When needed, to work with the finance manager and practice manager to coordinate regular payment runs. 

· Attendance at regular meetings of the Finance Sub-Committee.

6. Support to Executive Director

• Member of the senior management team, contributing to strategic planning and organisational development.
• Provide operational insights and recommendations to enhance the Law Centre’s performance and service delivery.
• Coordinate and chair regular meetings of the IT Working Group
• Report regularly to the Trustees on operational issues

7. Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including health and safety and data protection (GDPR).
• Participate in and ensure the smooth running of the annual Lexcel audit as well as other regular audits.

8. Professional Development

• To attend regular support and supervision and appraisal meetings.
• To keep up-to-date and to meet identified learning and development needs as appropriate.

9. Teamwork and Service Development

• To attend and contribute to staff meetings

About the job

The Grants Management Manager (GMM) is responsible for leading the Programme Support Unit (PSU). As a key member of the Programme Department, the GMM oversees programme development and the ongoing management of the country grant portfolio, proposals and implementation are high-quality, evidence based and conducted in accordance with donor and DRC regulations. This includes overseeing timely reporting, overall accountability to donors and supporting the implementation of DRC’s localisation strategy. The position reports to the Head of Programme and collaborates closely with Support Services Managers, Technical Coordinators, the Senior Management Team and Area Offices on all grants-related matters, donor compliance, and partnerships.

Responsibilities:

Programme Development and Fundraising

• Develop a Country Programme Funding strategy and updated donor mapping, keeping abreast of funding trends and donor strategies, paying special attention to diversifying the funding portfolio.
• Develop donor engagement strategies, working closely with the HoP, Programme team and with input from the area offices.
• Support the HoP in maintaining active and regular communication with donors, ensuring timely response to communications and coordinating with relevant country team members on high-quality feedback.
• Coordinate Go/No Go meetings for new funding opportunities.
• Lead the proposal development process -including budget development - engaging with Technical Coordinators, Area Offices and other relevant departments to ensure the development and submission of quality proposals.
• In collaboration with MEAL team, ensure that proposal development is informed by reliable organisational data and learning.
• Coordinate the provision of trainings in proposal development and reporting for grants and program teams, including relevant field staff.

Grants Management and Reporting

• Provide thorough contract reviews and support negotiations with donors ahead of contract signing.
• Ensure high-quality contract management - in close cooperation with SMT- anticipate and identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Lead on donor communication and prepare modification requests and other contractual documentation, as required.
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings for grant kickoff/opening, review and closing, including monitoring progress against timelines and action points. Support troubleshooting for any identified challenges during project delivery.
• Monitor the Grants Module on Dynamics and other internal documentation systems (including SharePoint) to ensure they are updated, working with HQ focal points and the Grants Management Specialist to address any issues.
• Work closely with Finance to support the submission of high-quality finance reports that align with narrative submissions
• Participate in new staff inductions by providing an overview of grants functions, active grants and relevant project documents.
• Provide ad hoc support and guidance to Programme staff on grants management-related issues.
• Conduct visits to field locations as possible/needed.

Compliance Monitoring and Quality Assurance

• Act as the Grants/Contract Management Donor Compliance Focal Point in the CO, ensure understanding of contractual obligations and regulations, seeking support from HQ, as needed.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of donor requirements and ensure that contractual obligations (including visibility requirements) and reporting deadlines are known and met by Programme, MEAL and Operations teams.
• Lead on contract amendments, including cost /no-cost extensions and project revisions, in coordination with relevant internal stakeholders.
• Actively participate in Global Grants Community Meetings to stay up-to-date with DRC Grants Management Best Practices as well as new regulations and requirements from donors.

People Management

• Lead the PSU, fostering a positive work environment
• Develop performance and development plans for the PSU, taking into consideration business continuity, staff turnover and localisation.
• Foster a culture of engagement and collaboration with the PSU, promoting knowledge sharing, respect for diversity and inclusion, effective communication and respect for staff duty of care

External Communication and Representation

• Participate in external coordination and fundraising-related engagements, fostering positive relationships with donors and other key stakeholders
• Support the development and implementation of the strategic communication plan, including evidence-gathering, drafting and reviewing donor focused communications pieces (e.g. case studies, context briefs, press releases).

About you

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies: 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• At least 4 years of experience in grants management including budget development, preferably with an international NGO or other donor-funded organization
• At least 1 year experience in people management and leadership roles.
• Knowledge and experience working with multiple sectors including Protection, Economic Recovery, Infrastructure/WASH, Emergency, and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding.
• Commitment to integrate gender, conflict sensitivity and accountability into programming
• Experience working in complex, changing environments with a proven ability to adapt
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Reliable, patient and able to work independently, with developed leadership capabilities.

Education/qualifications:

• Univeristy Degree

Languages:

Fluency in English (speaking, writing, reading) is essential.

As our Supported Housing Service Manager, you will be instrumental in providing effective, high-quality support and resettlement services to vulnerable, single, homeless individuals. You'll lead the charge in promoting independent living, ensuring our residents gain the skills and support they need to thrive – from managing their tenancies and finances, to cooking for themselves and moving towards sustainable independence.

What you'll be doing:

• Championing excellence: Provide outstanding services to all housing clients, ensuring their needs are identified, assessed, and met with appropriate, empowering support.
• Driving performance & outcomes: Spearhead the delivery of a strengths-based support service, directly contributing to Newham Council's vision of fostering independence and wellbeing for vulnerable adults. You'll drive performance excellence by tracking and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service user outcomes, move-on rates, and tenancy sustainment, as agreed with our local authority partners. This includes overseeing the effective use of assessment tools like the Homelessness Outcome Star to tailor support and demonstrate impact.
• Leading service enhancements: Lead and contribute to exciting service improvement initiatives, including enhancing our trauma-informed supervision models, refining our casework quality assurance processes, championing resident involvement in service design and playing a key role in finalising and implementing our move-on strategy to ensure every resident has a clear pathway to independence.
• Driving financial sustainability: Maximise rental income and support clients to meet their tenancy obligations, paving the way for their independent futures.
• Leading & inspiring a team: Motivate and support your staff, build a trusting and supportive working environment, fostering a culture of best practice, proactive case management, and solution-focused approaches.

Who we're looking for

• Proven experience in managing within a supported housing service, ideally with a strong understanding of local authority contract delivery, performance management frameworks, and outcomes-based commissioning.
• A proactive leader with a passion for continuous improvement and experience in driving positive change within housing services, including developing and implementing effective support planning processes and staff development initiatives such as reflective practice.
• Strong financial management and budgetary control skills.
• Excellent leadership, motivation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience conducting risk assessments and utilising tools like the Outcome Star.

Advice Service Delivery Manager

The newly created Advice & Support Team plays a key role in delivering Battersea’s increased strategic focus on early intervention in the pet ownership journey. By offering well-timed expert and empathetic support and advice before owners reach crisis point, the team aims to prevent avoidable animal welfare issues and reduce the number of pets relinquished for preventable reasons.

A key service in this area is the Behaviour Advice Line (BAL), currently delivered by our Animal Behaviour Team. This new role exists to lead the development of a clear, evidence-based service model and plan to transform the line into a cost-effective multi-channel service that delivers measurably improved impact for owners and their pets.

The role is for one year with the outcome to develop a detailed service model and associated change plan and budget, that is evidence based, co-designed and in alignment with the future Advice and Support strategy and Operations structure. Iterative changes should be identified for service improvement within the year and a business case for investment produced by the end of July 2026.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking a Corporate Partnerships Manager to identify, secure and shape new strategic corporate relationships that will help drive income and awareness at scale.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to diversify income, expand their portfolio and build a robust, diverse pipeline of high-value corporate support.  

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Partnerships, this role will take a lead on identifying, cultivating and converting new corporate partners to support Hearing Dogs. The post-holder will be responsible for driving the development of tailored, high-impact proposals and pitches to engage relevant companies and secure strategic, multifaceted partnerships that align with the charity’s mission and plans for growth.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in building long-term successful corporate partnerships and a track record in securing multiple six-seven figure sums from partnerships and delivering against income targets.  You will have an entrepreneurial approach to your work alongside strong communication, interpersonal and communication skills. You will also have excellent networking and research abilities, with a methodical approach to pipeline development.
