The charity works at the forefront of supporting LGBTQ+ people who have experienced abuse and violence, including domestic abuse, hate crime, and so-called conversion practices. Their work is community-led, trauma-informed, and deeply impactful.

About the Role

Location: Hybrid – London office with flexibility for majority remote working

The Individual Giving programme is in its early stages, having launched in October 2023. Some initial foundation-building and activity has been completed, and the organisation is now seeking an Individual Giving Manager to develop and grow this function into a key fundraising stream.

This role is perfect for an ambitious fundraiser who is ready to build a programme from the ground up and who is motivated by the opportunity to deliver meaningful change for LGBTQ+ communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a robust Individual Giving strategy to support fundraising growth over the next three years.
• Lead on digital fundraising, including paid social, paid search, and email campaigns.
• Manage donor acquisition and retention activity, optimising supporter journeys and testing new approaches.
• Collaborate with the communications and frontline teams to create compelling fundraising content.
• Support the use and development of Salesforce CRM for fundraising purposes.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will bring proven experience in Individual Giving and be ready to take the lead on a growing programme. Key qualities include:

• Experience of developing and delivering successful Individual Giving strategies.
• Strong knowledge of digital fundraising and supporter journeys.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
• Experience using fundraising databases (Salesforce preferred).
• Understanding of and commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and equity.

There is no line management responsibility at present. The role sits within a Fundraising and Communications team of three.

Purpose 

As People & Community Manager you nurture Jamyang’s values-aligned culture and strengthens its sense of community, both internally and externally. Key Responsibilities 

1. HR Administration & Onboarding 

• Oversee day-to-day HR administration, liaising with Jamyang’s external HR consultancy for specialist support.

2. Volunteer Programme Coordination

• Liaise with the Centre Operations Manager and Education Department to align volunteer support with operational needs. 

3. Community Engagement & Events

• Act as a point of contact for community members seeking engagement opportunities. 

• Support communications that build a vibrant and inclusive Jamyang community. 

4. Culture Stewardship & Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) 

• Develop and implement initiatives that embed Jamyang’s values—care, interconnectedness, warmheartedness—into daily work life. 

• Champion EDI by: 

• Supporting the implementation of Jamyang’s EDI strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Education department. 

• Organising awareness-raising activities such as training, book clubs, community discussions, and inclusive programming. 

• Advising on inclusive language and practices in external communications (in collaboration with the Comms Manager). 

• Monitor and report on EDI progress, sharing insights and recommended actions with the leadership team.

 Responsibilities

Product:

Manages and develops menus

Initiates, reviews and manages processes to make sure that all staff and volunteers are ensuring food served and delivered is to a high and consistent quality.

Ensures that all team members are educated on our products and services and products are delivered to customers consistently to a high quality.

Initiates, reviews, and manages systems that ensure that all staff and volunteers are inducted and continually trained in food hygiene, allergen awareness and that all statutory records regarding food hygiene, allergens are kept up to date.

Initiates, reviews and manages systems to improve stock control and minimise wastage

Service:

Is the Role Model for outstanding service in the cafe.

Pro-active in solving customer problems and satisfying customers in various situations and can handle conflict and other sensitive issues in a calm and fair manner.

Ensures that all team members provide customers with efficient, friendly, superior service on a consistent basis.

Consistently monitors, coaches and encourages team members to meet excellent service standards.

Assesses and provides adequate resource (paid staff and volunteers) to provide efficient and friendly, superior service and documents this on the weekly rota.

Maintains high cleanliness standards consistently throughout the cafe in the areas of store appearance, merchandise and equipment.

Training and Development:

Ensures a safe, enjoyable place of work for all team members recognising and respecting the unique needs, abilities and potential for development in every individual

Provides ongoing training and development to all team members (staff and volunteers) in the areas of operating standards, customer service and product knowledge.

Builds morale and team spirit by fostering a work environment where team members input is encouraged and valued.

Ensures each team member has received proper training to perform as a barista or in any other role effectively and efficiently.

Coaches and counsels team members for improved performance, documenting developmental plans for paid staff as necessary.

With support from your line manager, ensure that employment law and the businesses policies are followed in relation to human resources.

Hold 1 week and 3 month reviews with new employed starters, and with your line manager

Ensure that new starters are fulfilling the duties of their role(s) before the end of their probationary period

Hold annual reviews with employed café staff to celebrate their achievements and to identify areas where additional training or support may be required.

Cafe Operations:

Ensures that all cafe operating procedures are adequately documented and available for all to use

Ensures the Staff handbook is updated regularly

Facilitates on-going training and development of current staff and volunteers.

Promotes and practices safe work habits, identifying and resolving potential safety hazards, operational inconsistencies and any team member or customer incidents.

Provides the necessary health and safety training for staff and volunteers

Documents accidents, conducts initial investigation and determination of root cause in the interest of maintaining a safe work environment

Business

Delivers the agreed financial targets for the café

Develops promotional programmes to deliver the sales targets

Working Arrangements

40 hours per week between the hours of 8am to 4.30 Monday to Wednesday, 8am to 6.30pm Thursday and Friday, 9 am to 4.30 pm on Saturdays. 10am to 4.30pm Sunday including up to three weekends per month (minimum two)

28 days paid holiday per year plus public holidays.

Plus 1 day paid holiday per year on your birthday

Salary Up to £14.79 per hour depending on experience (Annual £30,763)

You will be working for Advance London service as an experienced Domestic Housing Manager, responsible for overseeing the delivery of the London service. You will lead and manage the LWHSP project and the co-located IDVAs,

Being responsible for line managing and performance managing Regional Managers and project staff within the post holder’s responsibility, including annual appraisals and supervision.

Supporting Regional Managers to recruit, train and develop a team of competent and highly skilled IDVAs to provide a consistently high-quality service to women. Supporting IDVAs to ensure that Advance’s values, policies and procedures are embedded into service delivery.

Overseeing the management of caseloads and casework to a high-quality standard and monitoring the performance of your team, offering continuous coaching and feedback to ensure that Advance meets the specific KPIs and outcome measures for the contract, taking immediate action to manage poor performance as necessary.

About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Housing Manager you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring your management experience of providing services to women experiencing Domestic Violence and Abuse including VAWG. With a significant experience of managing, developing and leading teams across a geographically dispersed region and remotely, including harnessing the strengths and potential of staff at all levels, building a strong team culture and maintaining staff motivation, particularly through periods of change. You will have substantial delivery of collaborative working with external agencies, stakeholders, subcontracted partners and extensive management of frontline workers.
