About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Communications and Campaigns Lead to deliver high-impact public communications and campaigns that strengthen Z2K’s profile, influence change and support our fundraising goals.
Working closely with the Director of Policy & Engagement and colleagues across the organisation, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of engaging communications and campaign activity across digital, media and supporter channels. You will also mobilise supporters and communities for in-person actions that amplify our campaigns and deepen public engagement.
You’ll play a key role in bringing our new organisational strategy and planned rebrand to life - ensuring our external messaging reflects our values, demonstrates our impact, and helps secure the income and influence needed to deliver our mission.
A core part of the role will involve ensuring our fundraising communications are compelling and strategic, helping us build stronger relationships with supporters and funders. Equally, you’ll work with colleagues and communities to design and deliver campaigns that are shaped and delivered by people with living experience of poverty.
This is a broad and varied role, ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration, wants to be hands-on in delivery, and is passionate about challenging injustice through powerful storytelling and action.
About You
You’ll be a skilled and creative communications and campaigns professional, with a track record of delivering high-impact, audience-focused content and activity across digital, media and supporter channels. You’re confident managing multiple priorities, spotting opportunities in a fast-moving external environment, and adapting messaging to maximise reach and impact. Experience of in person mobilisation would be an added advantage.
You’ll bring strong project management skills and enjoy working collaboratively across teams to produce clear, compelling communications that support fundraising, influence policy, and build public pressure. Whether it’s crafting supporter actions, writing stories that centre lived experience, or securing media coverage, you’ll be comfortable leading delivery while contributing ideas to wider strategic thinking.
You’ll have a keen understanding of how to build trust, grow engagement, and communicate complex issues in a way that connects with audiences. You’ll also be politically engaged and passionate about using communications and campaigns to challenge injustice and drive change.

The Role
The purpose of the Project and Policy Officer role is to:
- Provide vital project management support to substantial and often fast-paced projects that National Voices runs across its whole organisation including the policy and external affairs team and the evidence and improvement team
- Assist senior members of the policy team to develop policy projects and outputs which support the adoption and spread of equitable and person-centred health and care services.
- Work with voluntary sector organisations and people with the greatest health and care needs to ensure they are engaged in National Voices’ work
Responsibilities
Project organisation and administrative
· Support and coordinate the project management of significant projects, across the whole organisation including the policy and external affairs team and the evidence and improvement team.
· Maintain records of activity, finances and minutes etc as required.
· Lead on collating evidence of activity and its impact to support evaluation.
· Support the planning and facilitation of online and in person events such as working days and webinars.
· Support stakeholder management, particularly via email and diary management using electronic systems.
· Maintain lists of stakeholders and contacts to aid dissemination and networking.
Insight, engagement and communication
· Work with voluntary sector organisations and people with the greatest health needs in the coordination and support of workshops, focus groups and in-depth interviews.
· Read and analyse the influencing work our members do (reports, events) and share content with the National Voices team, spot and make connections.
· Connect with policy and influencing colleagues in member organisations, sharing our work with members.
· Work with senior members of the team to deliver timely and effective Heads of Policy meetings and Members’ Briefings on strategic topics within health and care.
· Identify, monitor and evaluate policy issues and assist senior members of the team to formulate and draft new policy positions, consultation responses, reports, briefings and other policy and public affairs documents that capture agreed positions.
· Support and develop the communication of project outcomes and outputs working closely with National Voices Policy and Communications manager.
General
· Support National Voices on a wider set of activities where required in response to capacity or demand.

Our approach to hybrid working
We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.
We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.
We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time.

ROLE SUMMARY
It is an exciting time to join the team, with income growing year on year and an increasing awareness of our brand through activities such as the recent Radio 4 Charity Appeal. We have ambitious plans and the Head of Fundraising will make a significant contribution to future growth; you will manage the Fundraising and Events team with oversight of income generation from various sources including major donors, individuals, trusts & foundations and a portfolio of events.
The role will suit innovative individuals with experience of fundraising from major donors and at least one of the other specified income streams, and event planning or project management.
You will represent upReach externally, acting as an ambassador for our work and building strategic relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will be accountable for income targets, developing the fundraising strategy and identifying new opportunities.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of Fundraising will contribute to upReach's mission by meeting financial targets, recognising when to make the fundraising ‘ask’ and leading the annual budget process. You will use clear, creative written communication to produce convincing cases for support, represent the charity at relevant networking events, work closely with the upReach Development Board and act as an ambassador for the organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and External Engagement you will manage three direct reports and support individuals participating in the Future Charity Leaders Programme (upReach’s graduate scheme). You will work closely with the Head of Partnerships, CEO, Programmes and Finance teams and other colleagues across the income generating and external engagement team.
The core responsibilities include:
Leadership and strategy

Lead fundraising and philanthropy to realise financial targets (2025/26: £2.45m).

Securing 5 and 6 figure gifts.

Inspire staff and volunteers to excel and achieve, champion the upReach values.

Commit to the annual appraisal process and develop stretching, SMART OKRs (objectives and key results) to meet our strategic goals.

Deputise for the Director in their absence and play an key role in the Income Generation & External Engagement Leadership Team.

Lead the strategic and operational planning process for the functional areas of responsibility and ensure the involvement of relevant stakeholders.

Keep abreast of developments, changes in trends, new techniques and legislation.

Trusts, Foundations & Corporates

Oversight of Trusts, Foundation & Corporate fundraising strategy.

Work with the Senior Fundraising Manager to identify and build relationships with Companies, Trusts and Foundations which are mission and/or programme aligned.

Main Responsibilities
Relationship Management and Stewardship

- Salary: £33,739 - £37,241 depending on experience. Salaries are reviewed annually, at the discretion of the Trustees, where the budget allows, with any increases effective from April.

You will also be working with women who are in trauma and can be in crisis requiring you to be empathetic but aspirational. You will provide advice and support to women who have experienced domestic abuse in a refuge setting, across the three sites. You will carry out risk and needs assessments, develop support plans and carry out key work with women survivors. You will be expected to work in one of the three Refuges as part of your role

About You

The Role

The Team
IPS Grow is a national programme designed to support the expansion of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services in mental health, primary care, and drug and alcohol teams across England. The programme is led by the organisation in partnership with the Centre for Mental Health. It is funded by NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).
A core element of the programme is the expert assistance provided by a team of IPS professionals, known as IPS Grow Leads, to support providers to improve their fidelity to the IPS model and achieve better employment outcomes for their clients.
About You
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of designing and leading data strategy at a senior level. This encompasses how we collect and manage data, as well as using analysis to produce relevant and actionable insights
