 DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS

WFN’s communications amplify the work of Whitley Award winners, raise the profile of the charity, bolster fundraising efforts, and contribute to global conservation conversations, positioning WFN as a leader within the sector.

• Monitor, and create and schedule content for WFN’s Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn accounts, helping to grow engagement and channel performance, driving traffic to WFN’s website, and sharing charity, winner, and sector news – in line with WFN’s communications strategy and with oversight from the Head of Communications (HoC)
• Lead management of WFN’s photo library and footage archive (Google photos): naming, categorising, and uploading winner and event photos
• Support delivery of social media campaigns during the lead up to events to drive engagement and/or donations, and supporting with posting content throughout the event period
• Help produce video content
• Support production and distribution of our regular e-letter (through MailChimp)
• Work with the HoC on WFN’s website to regularly review and update content
• Draft copy for website news stories and any additional copywriting as needed throughout the year
• Assist the HoC with monthly reporting on the website, social media platforms, newsletter and media coverage
• Support digital event communications including creation of e-letters, e-invitations, website pages, email signatures and visual assets.

 PR

WFN shares impactful stories that resonate with supporters and demonstrate we can make a difference. Throughout the year, we actively work to secure PR coverage for Whitley Award winners. Increased visibility helps winners to attract further funding, gain new connections, and increase political clout – all tools which strengthen conservation work.

• Produce reactive social media to share PR coverage secured by the HoM
• Create and distribute toolkits for press and partners to bolster media campaigns
• Collate charity and winner press coverage, including website news pages, throughout the year
• Support the Head of Media (HoM) and HoC in responding to press enquiries and supplying materials.

 EVENTS

Whitley Awards Ceremony

The Whitley Awards are the result of an international search to find, fund, train and put a spotlight on outstanding grassroots leaders and their conservation projects. Finalists are invited to London for a week of training and events, culminating with the Whitley Awards Ceremony, where winners receive their Awards from WFN Patron, HRH The Princess Royal in front of 400 guests and many more tuning in via our livestream.

The Communications Assistant will assist the team in planning and delivery of events during the Whitley Awards Ceremony week, including the Friends Reception, Ceremony and NGO Reception, particularly in the following areas: 

Communications

• Assist with supplier liaison across event filming, livestream, and photography
• Help create event visuals and on-screen graphics
• Support with creation of the Ceremony invitations and booklet
• Support with sourcing additional material for the Whitley Award films as needed
• Support the HoC with creation and uploading of content to the website and across social media platforms, including press releases, photographs, news stories, winner pages, and films.

Other WFN Events

Throughout the year WFN holds other fundraising and engagement events ranging from intimate dinners with supporters, winner talks, events as part of our Next Gen programme and major initiatives such as Biodiversity Summits which will require the CA’s assistance.

About the Role

As Research Fellow, you will lead research and evaluation for the Maudsley programme and contribute to the wider evidence and insight function of WCC. About the role

Medact is hiring for the new role of Fundraising Manager: Trusts & Grants to secure grant funds for the organisation over a critical one-year period. The new Fundraising Manager will be responsible for completing applications already in the pipeline, and then setting out a plan to apply for as many successful grants as possible in the period and delivering it.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

• Lead, supervise, and support a small team of play and youth workers and volunteers.

• Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people involved in Doorstep’s services.
• Ensure staff and volunteers follow safeguarding procedures and receive appropriate training.
• Respond appropriately to any concerns, working in partnership with relevant agencies where necessary.

Partnership and Family Engagement

• Build positive, trusting relationships with parents, carers, and families, encouraging their involvement in children’s play and learning.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals and partner organisations to enhance support for families.
• Represent Doorstep at relevant meetings, forums, and networks to share best practice and strengthen partnerships.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Administration

• Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and outcomes in line with organisational requirements.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting processes to demonstrate impact and inform future development.
• Support funding applications and project reports by providing relevant data and case studies.

About You

Experience and Knowledge

• Relevant qualification in playwork, youth work, early years, or a related field (Level 3 or above) or equivalent.
• Significant experience of planning, delivering, and evaluating play and youth activities for children and young people aged 0–18 years.
• Experience of supervising or managing staff and/or volunteers within a play, youth, or community setting.
• Strong understanding of child development and the role of play in supporting wellbeing, resilience, and growth.

In Spring 2028, the National Gallery will launch a new, public-facing Research Centre to facilitate and showcase our world-leading research in the history and science of painting. This will be a complex space sitting at the intersection of multiple valued research stakeholders both within and beyond the Gallery, including the Gallery’s own wide array of research-active staff, our Artists-in-Residence, specialist users of our extensive Library & Archive collections, and a research-engaged general public attending events and consulting materials.

We are now recruiting for a new role, a Research Centre Manager, to support in the creative planning and daily delivery of an exceptional experience at the Research Centre. The role-holder will provide vital clarity and consistency in the day-to-day running of this multifaceted space to ensure a smoothly functioning whole. This includes coordinating all aspects of the Research Centre operations, managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the Research Centre facilities and administration. They will also think creatively about the Centre’s different spaces and, alongside Gallery colleagues, will help produce exciting research programming.

An ideal candidate will have experience in a comparable multifaceted role, and will bring to the Gallery strong leadership, excellent communication, creative programming, innovative problem-solving, and strong organisational skills to manage both day-to-day operations and strategic planning for the Centre.

The School Library Association (SLA) supports approximately 2000 members working in schools across the UK with advice, training and advocacy. The School Library Lead will be at the forefront of our member offer and outreach, to help us deliver on our mission to support all those working in school libraries, so that more children and young people reach their full potential through the school library.   

This role will lead on providing advice, inspiration and support for schools looking to develop their school library provision and all the benefits this brings. An expert in school libraries, you will be comfortable supporting members 1:1, delivering training to larger audiences, providing consultancy to schools and sector organisations, writing training and resources, or preparing book recommendations. An exciting opportunity for someone experienced in school libraries with knowledge of the curriculum, teaching and learning and children’s books, you will be the first port of call for library advice and expertise, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the membership network.

You will be experienced in developing relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels relish a busy role. This will include supporting our Branch network, collaborating on initiatives for development, delivery and new projects as they come online. As resident children’s book expert, you will support with programmes and projects such as the SLA Information Book Award and member book-related events. You will work with your SLA colleagues to develop and deliver high-quality member events and training as well as advocacy events to raise awareness of the importance of school libraries. Using your sector insight, you will identify opportunities for development of initiatives that will support the SLA vision and mission enabling us to reach more children and young people through our work.  This is a busy and rewarding role and will suit someone with passion and resilience.

As our Lead Learning & Development Specialist you’ll support BHF in the successful delivery of this organisational wide Enterprise Foundations programme.

You’ll lead, design, manage and evaluate engaging learning experiences that will enable colleagues to enhance their skills. Helping colleagues to adopt changes to key systems and processes within BHF, as well as ways of working and culture, you’ll stay ahead of the curve and will, ultimately, help BHF to achieve our transformation goals.

You’ll work closely with key colleagues in this Enterprise Foundation Change Programme, as well as third-party partners to successfully maximise engagement, commitment, adoption and sustainability. About you

You’ll be an all-round L&D Specialist but who has experience with technical training and can understand/pick up new tech quickly, able to work directly with subject matter experts and not get overwhelmed by the jargon.

In this new role the Impact and Evaluation Manager will be critical to helping Bite Back demonstrate and strengthen the difference we make for young people, funders, partners, and wider society. You will lead the organisation’s approach to measuring, evaluating and learning from our work – ensuring that youth voice is at the heart of how we design, assess and communicate our impact.

You will manage Bite Back’s relationships with external evaluators, develop and track organisational KPIs, and work closely with programme and fundraising colleagues, trustees and funders to ensure we can evidence our outcomes clearly and compellingly. This role will also develop creative ways to tell the story of our impact – from robust evaluation reports through to case studies that bring young people’s voices to life.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Impact and Evaluation Manager is accountable for:

Strategy and Theory of Change

• Working closely with the CEO to lead Bite Back’s organisational impact strategy, including refining and maintaining our theory of change.

• Translating our theory of change into clear outcomes, indicators and learning questions that guide programme design, campaigns and organisational priorities.

• Designing and overseeing Bite Back’s impact measurement framework.

Data Systems and Standards

• Leading on the collection, analysis and reporting of both quantitative and qualitative data, ensuring that youth voice and lived experience shape Bite Back’s evaluation approaches.

• Supporting the development and monitoring of KPIs across the organisation, providing clear insights and recommendations to the Leadership Team.

Donor monitoring and evaluation

• Working with fundraising and programme teams to design robust monitoring, evaluation and learning plans for funding bids, including developing outcomes frameworks, indicators, and evaluation budgets that align with Bite Back’s broader organisational impact framework.

• Working closely with the Senior Grants and Fundraising Manager to ensure Bite Back meets its impact and reporting commitments to funders.

• Leading on the development of Bite Back’s annual impact report and supporting the production of  other compelling case studies, impact reports and evaluation outputs to communicate Bite Back’s effectiveness to funders, trustees, partners, the media and wider audiences

Building a Learning Culture

• Managing relationships with external evaluators, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard.

• Building evaluation capacity across the team, providing tools, training and support to colleagues to embed a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

• Embedding equity, diversity and inclusion principles in Bite Back’s impact and evaluation work, ensuring methods are inclusive, accessible and reflective of the communities we work with.

• Acting as a champion for a learning culture, communicating clearly and accessibly about impact, data and evidence, and supporting colleagues through changes to systems and ways of working.

• Staying up to date with best practice in youth-led evaluation, impact measurement and social change movements, and bringing innovative approaches into Bite Back’s work.

About the role

The Impact and Learning Consultant will play a central role in advancing how the Vitol Foundation understands, measures and deepens its impact. They will build on existing frameworks, tools and processes developed by our Head of Impact, Learning and Strategy who is due to go on maternity leave, as well as bring their own expertise to further strengthen our approach to impact and learning, embedding it into our day-to-day decisions. As our lead expert in this area, the Consultant will ensure that our strategy and grantmaking are guided by emerging data and evidence, and support continuous learning across all our work.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the field of measurement and evaluation, combining strategic leadership experience with strong hands-on technical skills to support Foundation colleagues and nonprofit partners. They will have experience with a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research methods and working in global settings, especially to support local partners operating in low-resource and/or emergency environments. This role requires someone with excellent communication skills, translating complex findings into clear, actionable insights tailored to different audiences, including Vitol Foundation colleagues, our board and non-technical external stakeholders.

Above all, the candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to the vision, mission and values of the Vitol Foundation and improving people’s lives. They will report directly to our CEO and be part of a small but enthusiastic team of people committed to making a difference. Key responsibilities

Impact measurement and reporting

• Continue rollout of the foundation‑level impact framework across our grant portfolio, making ongoing adjustments and clarifications as it’s being road-tested with a growing number of grantees.
• Design and refine grant‑level impact measures. Develop impact indicators for new grants and review existing ones, working closely with programme managers and partners to ensure alignment with project goals, partner capacity and the foundation‑level impact framework.
• Review and strengthen data quality of incoming partner reports to ensure that progress is meaningfully captured through quantitative and qualitative indicators. Check for clarity, completeness, consistency and data quality, and provide feedback or make revisions as needed.
• Support uptake and adjustments to our impact dashboards in Salesforce to ensure clarity and usefulness for Foundation colleagues. Work with the Operations Manager and external developers to implement changes where needed.

Learning and strategy implementation

• Regularly synthesise and share lessons learned from across our grant portfolio as well as from the wider international development sector. Highlight emerging data, evidence and findings, and their implications for the Foundation’s strategy and grants.
• Conduct rapid evidence reviews to inform sector‑level strategies and individual grants as they are developed or revised. Work closely with programme leads and partners to ensure emerging evidence is reflected in design and implementation, and to identify ways to build credible evidence to strengthen the impact of our grants.
• Serve as a technical expert for externally-led evaluations of our grants, including reviewing research protocols, data collection tools, analysis plans, and consent and safeguarding processes. Note: evaluations will be commissioned by external parties, this role will not manage evaluation contracts or teams.

Internal and external communications

• Draw out insights from impact data, other programme documents and external sources to inform management and board reporting, including regular tracking of portfolio‑level outcomes, key trends and lessons learned.
• Work with the Head of Communications to draft content for internal and external audiences, using relevant data and statistics and creating compelling visualisations that reinforce key messages.
   

Qualifications

Essential

• Educational background: Advanced degree in a relevant field (for example, public policy, global development, business administration).
• Professional experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in impact measurement, strategic learning, or programme evaluation in philanthropy, non-profits or social impact sectors.
• Analytical rigour and insight: Demonstrated ability to synthesise complex data and strategic insights; proven record of shaping high-level organisational strategies.
• Facilitation and communication: Strong skills in facilitating discussions, presenting insights to senior leadership, and translating complex data into accessible, strategic information.
• Project management and adaptability: Track record of managing complex research and evaluation projects with multiple stakeholders; able to balance strategic oversight with hands-on problem solving.

Job Title: Community Project Officer

Location: Hybrid (London Office)

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of £22,155.20 to £34,913 (FTE £27,694 to £43,642). The salary on appointment will be set at the lower end of the pay range, to a maximum of £24,370 (FTE £30,463) depending on the candidate's skills and experience. This approach aims to ensure fair compensation for new hires while maintaining alignment with the structured pay scale for the role.

*The project will run for three years. The initial fixed-term contract will be for 12 months, with a potential extension for a further two years subject to funding.

Context and purpose of role

By 2034 Ramblers ambition is that everyone in England and Wales will be able to join a Wellbeing Walk close to where they live – for communities to come together and experience the health and wellbeing benefits of walking. This work is part of the strategic plan and business objectives of Ramblers GB.

The role will deliver the Walking Together Project across communities in north London, Slough and Reading. The role will engage directly with the most disadvantaged communities, where loneliness, social isolation and inactivity could be prevalent, through a ‘Getting Started’ Wellbeing Walks programme. This is a community delivery role to work with local communities to establish walks and find potential walk leaders within the community to sustain walking.

• Deliver the Ramblers Getting Started element of the Walking Together Project
• Maintain positive working relationships with local and regional partners to deliver the project
• Maintain positive working relationships with local members/volunteers
• Attend Community/Borough or Town Council, steering group and other partner meetings and events and use to deliver the project
