What will you be doing? 

Contribute to hyh’s overall Fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising Team

• Identify, develop and support existing and new community and events fundraising activities to increase and generate significant net income and supporter engagement
• Provide excellent donor care for all fundraising activities, to develop productive and lasting relationships with the community and convert them into loyal supporters
  
• Assist the Head of Fundraising & Communications  in the development and delivery of hyh’s Events and Communications Plans
• Update donor CRM databases and website

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. You will play an integral role in communicating our work as widely as possible and improving and increasing engagement with our supporters, including our members, donors and corporate partners.

The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). They will report to the Director of Development and Head of Communications.

We want someone who can learn and grow in this role so if you don’t have every skill listed but are organised, motivated, and interested in our work then we want to hear from you.

The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. The successful candidate will work with the Head of the Gambling Action Lab (GAL) and the Senior Research Officer to bring together a handful of representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling-related financial harms. Organisational Background

The Council for At-Risk Academics is a UK-registered charity founded in 1933 under the leadership of William Beveridge, to rescue academics suffering persecution under the rise of Nazism and facilitate their continued work in safety. Sixteen Cara Fellows from the 1930s and 1940s became Nobel Laureates, and many more innovators in their fields, including, Nikolaus Pevsner, Lise Meitner and Karl Popper. A number of Cara’s founders and Council members also personally provided places and/or funds to help individual academics; and Cara, known in the 1930s as the AAC, later the SPSL, was closely involved in the successful effort in 1933 to bring to London the Warburg Institute art library, which had been prohibited by the Nazis, and six of its staff. The Fellowship Programme is the continuation of the rescue mission operation started in 1933.

Cara has been a lifeline to academics at risk for just over 90 years, as and when world events have placed them in the line of fire: Hungarian Uprising, Cold War, Apartheid South Africa, Iran, Latin American Juntas, Vietnam, Kosovo, DRC, Rwanda, Sudan, Zimbabwe etc. and, more recently Iraq, Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. Cara support is typically framed as temporary sanctuary offered at times of heightened risk.

Cara Objectives ‘To assist academics who have been, or are, or are at risk of being, subject to discrimination, persecution, suffering or violence on account of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, to relieve needs among them and their dependants and ensure that their specialist knowledge and abilities can continue to be used for the benefit of the public.’

‘To advance education by supporting academics and their educational institutions in countries where their continuing work is at risk or compromised, to ensure that such academics and institutions can continue to fulfil their critical role as educators for the public benefit.’

Part-time Fellowship Programme Assistant Role & Responsibilities

· Produce a weekly list of payments.

· Produce financial paperwork.

· Schedule Fellows’ placement disbursements on SalesForce (SF) – those having simple funding allocations and support the schedule of more complex funding requests when needed.

· Update disbursement details once paid on a weekly basis.

· Input payments made via our Pleo card to SF and link allocations.

· Update details for new grant requests (funding request status, disbursement details, and relevant allocations) and ongoing requests when needed.

· Support management of Fellowship-related grants (English, hardship, mentoring, small grants).

· Create payments and allocations for opportunities on SF once an award letter has been issued.

· Track invoice status and notify colleagues to initiate the invoicing process.

· Send invoice requests to our bookkeeper and update the relevant opportunities and payments on SF.

· Draft invoices when needed.

· Update opportunities and payments on SF for invoice paid/funding received.

· Analyse data for reporting to stakeholders and donors.

Job Purpose: The project aims to deliver a range of trauma-informed learning and development opportunities to women impacted by the criminal justice system. Delivered in our Manchester and Trafford women’s centres, these gender responsive activities, co-produced with women with lived experience, will provide personal and practical skill development that meets their needs and supports their aspirations around employment or education, including a focus on wellbeing and practical learning.

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Co-ordinate and deliver a schedule of trauma informed and gender responsive workshops that aim to address wellbeing and reduce barriers women impacted by the CJS face in accessing employment or education opportunities.
2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders, such as lived experience groups, education, training and employment networks and local services.
4. Create opportunities for women impacted by the criminal justice system to input into the programme, such as co-production, and peer supporters

SCLF was established in 2016 with a 10-year mission and ten years of funding from John Swire & Sons Ltd with the objective of getting Mandarin Chinese more broadly taught in UK state schools across primary and secondary. The Foundation believes that there is tremendous value for young people to learn a foreign language and that learning Mandarin Chinese in Britain will enable future generations to develop a greater understanding of China.

The Grants Programme Assistant will support both the Executive Director and the Assistant Manager across the remit of the SCLF’s work to help it deliver its objectives. This is a unique and interesting opportunity to join the organisation at a key point in its ten-year trajectory as it works to support schools to continue their language provision post 2026 and help shape what that future might look like. 

The postholder will play a key role when it comes to supporting the Executive Director and Assistant Manager in their day-to-day roles and get very involved in the operations of the Foundation. The work will cover wide remit of areas including: financial administration, supporting with termly funding reports-and-request process for schools, preparing internal expense requests and maintaining the expenses log. Job purpose and key responsibilities

This role sits within CARE International UK’s Programme Funding Team, which is critical to the achievement of CARE’s vision as we lead high-quality bidding processes with UK-based institutional donors and large foundations.

As a Programme Development Officer, you will play a key role in the delivery of CIUK’s donor diversification strategy seeking to secure funding from and strengthen CIUK’s relationships with non-FCDO donors. The post-holder will lead proposal development processes for accountable grants up to £1.5M. You will also work with other programme development specialists to contribute to the programme design and proposal submissions for larger or more complex programmes such as those funded by FCDO or the European Commission.

The post holder will work closely with technical teams, CARE Country Offices and other partners to identify and monitor exciting funding opportunities, and which showcase CARE’s programme innovation, and which deliver impact as well as full cost recovery for CIUK. The post holder will be the primary contact person and manage CIUK’s relationship engagement with allocated donors.

Post holders will work internationally and be exposed to a range of technical approaches in varied thematic areas and geographies across CARE’s work. We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to help us deliver missional projects aligned with our Refreshed Diocesan Strategy. The strategy includes several bold outcomes such as doubling the number of young people choosing to attend worship regularly and having 3% of total population in the diocese regularly attending our churches.

Our diocesan strategy prioritises resourcing excellent youth ministry in seven ministry areas, to grow younger and more diverse. On the Edge (OtE) is a London-based charity on a mission to emotionally reconnect people with nature through smart, entertaining, social-media-based storytelling. We are especially interested in reaching young people who do not engage with traditional nature content. By fostering a reconnection with the natural world, our stories aim to create advocates for its protection and restoration. On the Edge is also a science-based, grant-giving organisation that funds conservation projects around the world.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a programmes officer or manager with at least 1 years’ experience in conservation grant making. This role will facilitate the management of all conservation and storytelling grants awarded, as well as managing relationships, grant proposal development, budgets and impact measuring. This role will provide some opportunity to travel as part of our capacity building training programmes.

This is an exciting time for OtE as we have just launched a new grant approach. Our in-house programme will be the first of its kind and will rapidly increase conservation attention towards EDGE species and zones. The programmes officer/manager will play a key role in the development and expansion of this grant approach.

Responsibilities:

• Contributes to the development and implementation of the grant programme’s strategy

• Supports the development and management of our grant portfolio, including researching new granting opportunities in line with the strategic directions (especially grassroots and national level actors), scoping and developing proposals with prospective grantees.

• Supports grantees through our funding model which may include coordinated activities with grantees and capacity building, developing systems for and overseeing grantee reporting, and conducts the monitoring and evaluation of grants against our impact framework, which may include site visits.

• Contributes to the setting of program budgets, allocation of funds, and supports the COO in financial reporting.

• Represents OtE in a variety of settings, including among peer groups and at public events.

• Contributes to supporting activities, relationships and networking with the conservation and philanthropic sectors, developing trust and collaboration and identifying aligned goals, helping to shape and align priorities in the grant-making sector.

• Keeps up to date with mapping and assessment of NGO impacts and donor grant-making in our target areas to ensure our grant-making adds value, including identifying barriers to success and gaps in the field or funding.

Qualifications and Experience required

• A university degree in a field relevant to conservation or science. A post-graduate degree would be an asset but is not essential.

• At least 1 years in of one or more of the following: biodiversity conservation, grant-making and the philanthropic sector, conservation communications/education.

• Experience in designing, leading and implementing successful projects with partners

• Experience in planning, strategy development and delivery would be an advantage

• Experience of budgetary and financial management is essential.

• Excellent research, analytical and writing skills, including in risk assessment, evaluation of potential projects and organisational success.

• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, networking skills, project and people management experience and able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

• Strong computer skills

• Fluency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset

• Highly organised and able to develop organisational systems as and when needed, able to track and work to multiple deadlines

For more than 50 years, the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) has been the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential. The BDA is established as the leading dyslexia charity in the UK.

Unfortunately, the need for our support and services is high. Although awareness of dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties has grown, there are ongoing and widening gaps in access to the identification of dyslexia and the provision of expert learning support. Our national Helpline is busier than ever, supporting almost 5,500 people each year, reminding us on a daily basis why we must keep fighting for the rights of our beneficiaries.

Against a challenging backdrop for so many organisations, last financial year we saw continued growth in income from fundraising and training. We invested in growing our team and identified five strategic objectives for the period 2023-2026, and activities are currently underway to deliver these priorities. Our next CEO will continue to oversee these whilst laying the foundations for our next strategy cycle which we intend to publish in 2026. As such, the timing of this appointment allows the successful candidate the opportunity to work with the Board and other key stakeholders to articulate the long-term vision for our charity, establishing a plan that enables us to expand our reach and deepen our programmes.

The Volunteer Support Officer role:

As our Volunteer Support Officer, you will be acting as the first point of contact via email and phone for our volunteers providing warm and friendly assistance. This role provides vital support to volunteers within our enrolment process as well as administrative tasks that aid and celebrate our volunteers.

Our successful candidate will be organised, a strong team player and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities as our Volunteer Support Officer will include:.

• Supporting the adult volunteer applications to join the Sea Cadets, ensuring that personnel records are updated accordingly on our database
• Administer the disclosure process as a MSSC counter signatory
• Reviewing and approving applications for the Cadet Forces Medal
• Responding to all volunteer enquiries received by MSSC by email, post and phone
• Administering personnel forms associated with volunteer progression

Requirements needed to become our Volunteer Support Officer:

• Computer literacy: strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet and experience of web based information systems
• Experience of working in a customer focused role, including handling a wide range of enquiries by phone and email, and handling challenging phone calls and emails
• Experience of using data protection procedures

Desirable

• Experience of database inputting and records maintenance and management
• Experience of setting up and using Mail Merge to issue emails or letters
