Job Purpose:
To provide specialist support to individuals affected by neuroendocrine cancer—including patients, families, carers, and health and social care professionals—through expert nursing advice, psychosocial support, and the provision of dedicated advocacy and self-management services.

• To deliver accurate, evidence-based information and guidance on neuroendocrine cancer.
• To advise on self-care and promote physical and mental well-being, including appropriate escalation pathways (e.g., GP, CNS/CPN, clinical team, emergency services).
• To contribute to the delivery of direct care and support services, including the national helpline, support groups, and access to counselling and therapy.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and respond to information and support needs.

Other Duties

Requirements

• Must have a current NMC registration with no restrictions on their practice or caution order attachment.
• Min 5-year post reg. experience, within a clinically relevant field: including caseload management
• Be able to provide at least two professional references from your last place of work as a nurse or midwife.
• Please note that a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
• Demonstrate a willingness to attend all mandatory training relevant to their role
• Must be flexible to work locally or remotely, and willing to travel to attend support groups, conferences, and events.
• Minimum 1 day/week helpline +/- cover as needed.
• Mandatory staff meeting days in the office (Leamington Spa) 4 times a year.

Administrative Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft 365 Office applications
• Proficient in accurately entering complex data into secure electronic systems.

Professional Experience & Knowledge

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Translations Editor (French) to join our Communication for Development team. This role ensures the quality and delivery of Tearfund's French translations for audiences primarily in Francophone Africa.

You will manage translation workflows for a wide range of content—from publications and training materials to digital and multimedia resources—working with a network of freelance translators and proofreaders. You will also contribute to strengthening Tearfund's translation standards and digital processes, including the use of our translation software management and AI tools.

About you - You will bring:

• Native-level proficiency in French and strong command of English (spoken and written)

National Year of Reading, Brand and Media Partnerships Lead

Contract: one year fixed term contract from early 2026

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG).

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

• Lead the annual organisational planning cycle, ensuring objectives, budgets and KPIs are aligned to the strategy and are realistic, affordable and measurable.

• Champion a culture of accountability, inclusion, learning and collaboration across the charity, role-modelling our values in leadership and decision making.

• Provide clear, insight-driven analysis and recommendations to support major strategic decisions (e.g. growth, new programmes, partnerships, investments, cost management).

• Lead and develop the Finance & Operations team (Finance, Fundraising, HR, IT/systems, operations) building a high-performing, service-oriented function that supports colleagues to deliver impact.

Financial strategy, planning & stewardship

• Develop and keep under review the charity’s financial strategy, ensuring long-term sustainability, appropriate reserves and effective use of resources.

• Lead and coordinate the annual budget and medium-term financial planning process, working closely with budget holders to create robust, activity-based budgets.

• With the support of the Senior Finance Manager, provide timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting to the CEO, Leadership Team and Board, including management accounts, restricted funds reporting, cashflow and forecasts.

• Maintain robust financial controls, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards and Charity Commission / Companies House requirements.

• Lead the relationship with external auditors and oversee the annual audit process, ensuring high-quality statutory accounts and a culture of continuous improvement in financial controls.

• Oversee financial aspects of funding bids, contracts and grant reporting, including costing models, financial due diligence and project / restricted fund monitoring.

People, culture & HR

• Oversee pensions, insurance, payroll and benefits ensuring these are well-managed, compliant and provide value for money.

Digital, data, IT & systems

• Work alongside the Digicomms team to support the organisation’s digital and technology strategy, ensuring systems and tools are fit for purpose and future-focused.

• Ensure the charity’s CRM (Salesforce) is effectively governed, embedded and used across the organisation, with clear ownership, training and data standards.

• Oversee data protection and information security, ensuring GDPR compliance, robust data governance and adherence to frameworks such as Cyber Essentials where relevant.

• Manage relationships with IT and systems suppliers, ensuring contracts are well-specified, performance is monitored and services deliver value for money.

• Lead the design and continuous improvement of cross-organisational systems and processes to reduce duplication, improve user experience and increase efficiency.

Operations, facilities & supplier management

• Oversee the effective management of the charity’s co-working space in Fivefields and any hybrid / remote working arrangements, ensuring they are safe, inclusive and support collaborative working.

• Plan for future workspace needs in line with organisational growth, culture and budget.

• Lead procurement and supplier management, together with the Operations & Contracts Manager, for key operational services, ensuring contracts are well-managed and aligned with our ethical, environmental and sustainability commitments.

• Ensure robust health and safety arrangements are in place and implemented across all activities, including appropriate policies, risk assessments and training.

• Oversee business continuity planning and disaster recovery arrangements so that critical operations can continue in the event of disruption.

Governance, risk & compliance

• Act as Company Secretary and secretary to the Board, ensuring effective governance processes and high-quality information flows between the executive and trustees.

• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with Charity Commission, Companies House and any other regulatory or funder requirements, including statutory filings and returns.

• Lead the development, maintenance and regular review of the organisational risk register, ensuring an appropriate appetite for risk and clear mitigation actions.

• Provide assurance to the Board and its committees on the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance frameworks across finance, HR, data protection, health & safety and other key areas.

• Coordinate the review, approval, communication and implementation of organisational policies, ensuring staff are inducted, trained and clear on their responsibilities.

• Support the Chair and CEO in planning Board and committee agendas, ensuring trustees are well-supported to discharge their duties and have appropriate information to make decisions.

Gilgal Birmingham is a specialist domestic abuse charity providing refuge accommodation and community-based support for women and children at risk of, or experiencing, domestic abuse. We offer emergency refuge spaces and a growing range of outreach services that help women rebuild their lives, access safety, and move towards independence.

We are seeking a Fundraising Manager - Bids and Trusts to secure and manage the funding that enables this vital work. This is a key strategic role leading our grants, trusts, statutory funding and corporate income pipeline, working closely with the CEO and Senior Management Team. You will be responsible for prospect research, high-quality bid writing, reporting, and building strong relationships with funders and partners. This role is ideal for a self-starter who can manage the full fundraising lifecycle and contribute to the growth of a life-changing service.

This is a part-time, remote position, but hybrid working in our Birmingham office is also an option.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning

• Work with the CEO to implement Gilgal’s Fundraising and Income Generation Strategy.

• Develop and maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and corporate partners.

• Prepare a rolling income generation plan with timelines and bid targets.

• Support the CEO in identifying opportunities for partnership bids and collaborative tenders.

Grants and Trusts

• Research and identify suitable funding opportunities aligned with Gilgal’s priorities.

• Develop strong, evidence-based funding proposals with clear outcomes and robust budgets.

• Coordinate with service leads and finance staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage the full bid lifecycle, from identification through to submission, monitoring, and evaluation.

• Maintain a funding tracker with deadlines, progress updates, and reporting requirements.

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, trusts, commissioners, and partners.

• Provide ongoing updates to funders to strengthen long-term partnerships.

• Attend relevant meetings, events, and briefings.

Reporting and Monitoring

• Produce clear, impact-focused reports for funders and stakeholders.

• Work with colleagues to collect and analyse outcomes data to inform bids and reporting.

• Review successful and unsuccessful bids to identify trends and improve future applications.

• Support the CEO and Finance Director in aligning budgets with funder requirements.

• Contribute to regular Funding Overview Reports and Income Generation Plans for the Board.

Corporate and Individual Fundraising Support

• Support the CEO in developing relationships with corporate partners and donors.

• Contribute to wider fundraising initiatives as needed.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven track record in trusts and grants fundraising at a senior level.

• Experience in bid writing and grant management within the charity or public sector.

• Strong understanding of trust, foundation, and statutory funding landscapes.

• Excellent written communication and persuasive writing skills.

• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

• Financial literacy and ability to prepare project budgets.

• A collaborative, flexible, and motivated approach to work.

Desirable

• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising or similar.

• Experience using CRM or fundraising databases.

• Experience in the domestic abuse, housing, or social care sectors.

• Experience with corporate fundraising or CSR partnerships.

• Knowledge of impact measurement and theory of change.

• Knowledge of funders in Birmingham/West Midlands and/or with an interest in domestic abuse.
