With our transition to the Royal College of Pharmacy drawing nearer we are looking to recruit a Director of Finance and Technology to help with the implementation of our strategic plan and overall leadership and management of the College. About the role

Last year we launched a new website which provides independent online information, advice and support for kinship carers. This year, we’re continuing to develop new advice and information content for the website, as well as working on content for projects that focus on supporting kinship carers.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker is a full-time post on a 12-month renewable contract, joining a small team at the JRS UK offices in Wapping, working closely with the Detention Outreach Manager.

The JRS UK Detention Outreach project supports individuals who are detained in the Heathrow Immigration Removal Centres (Harmondsworth and Colnbrook). This busy and varied role focuses on combining accompaniment, practical support, and assistance to those in immigration detention, especially those who are most vulnerable and struggle to self-advocate. The Detention Outreach Caseworker will make referrals to solicitors and partner organisations where appropriate and liaise with Immigration Services, detention centre staff and others as needed.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will occasionally support individuals who are released from, but continue to be affected by, immigration detention. Through relationships built across the NGO sector, they will refer individuals to local organisations who can most appropriately assist with reintegration into the community. They will provide in-depth and pro-active support to high-need individuals supported in detention who continue to require long-term accompaniment on release.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will be responsible for managing their own caseload and work closely with the Detention Outreach Manager to identify themes and trends arising from immigration detention to contribute to the organisations wider strategic work. The post-holder should have a good understanding of and empathy with the issues and challenges faced by asylum-seekers and refugees, with particular focus on immigration detention. They will need highly developed listening skills, personal resilience and emotional maturity to respond to the emotional and practical needs of asylum seekers, accompanying them and supporting them to positively progress with their lives. They need to have and maintain an up-to-date knowledge about the immigration and asylum context as it relates to our work in immigration detention.

The Detention Outreach Caseworker will be enthusiastic about working in a small faith-based organisation and have a willingness to integrate JRS UK’s ethos of accompaniment in their approach whilst also demonstrating sensitivity in responding to the needs of destitute and detained individuals. The postholder will draft policy positions, respond to consultations, produce briefings, and monitor political and sector developments.

This role requires creativity, analytical strength, and commitment to social justice. The desired candidate will be politically engaged, detail-oriented, and passionate about using policy to shift power and drive change. 

 Key Responsibilities  

 1. Policy Research, Analysis, and Development 

• Monitor and assess political, legislative, and social developments relevant to violence against women and girls (VAWG), with a particular focus on the experiences and needs of Black and Minoritised women and girls. 

• Conduct horizon scanning to track emerging policy trends, legislation, consultations, and other developments affecting the Black and Minoritised women’s sector. 

• Analyse national and regional policy environments to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for strategic influence and sector sustainability. 

• Produce clear, timely, and well-structured policy briefings, consultation responses, and position papers on VAWG, racial justice, and structural inequality.

• Use policy analysis to inform and shape advocacy strategies, campaigns, and public engagement work. 

• Develop and maintain relationships with policy makers, researchers, academics, and allied organisations. 

• Represent Imkaan in relevant external meetings, networks, roundtables, and events. 

• Contribute to debates and dialogue by articulating well-evidenced, feminist-informed policy perspectives.

About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, the Operations and Facilities Manager will lead on all aspects of operational delivery, facilities management, and strategic improvement. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will oversee service delivery, compliance, innovation, tenant and contractor relationships, and contribute to the organisation’s long-term sustainability and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of a busy multi-tenant business centre, including compliance, space planning, security, and contractor management
• Lead and develop the operations team, embedding KPIs and a high-performance culture
• Act as the designated Health & Safety Officer, ensuring legal compliance and robust risk management
• Drive innovation and digitisation across operations to improve quality and efficiency
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure tenant satisfaction, cost-effectiveness, and service quality

Job purpose

The Executive and Operations Coordinator provides essential administrative, operational, and executive support to enhance the effectiveness of Toynbee Hall’s Advice Services directorate. This role combines high-level executive assistance including managing the diaries of the Managing Director and Deputy Director of Advice Services, coordinating communications, and preparing for meetings with operational support across finance, HR, onboarding, and general administration. Working closely with the finance team, HR, and advice teams, the Executive and Operations Support Officer raises and tracks purchase orders, processes invoice, reconciles credit cards, and ensures contracts and approvals are completed on time. They also provide flexible support across the directorate, assisting with logistics, meeting documentation, and crossteam coordination as needed. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Advice Services, this role plays a key part in ensuring seamless operations and enabling senior leaders to focus on strategic priorities and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Diary and Inbox Management:

• Manage the Director of Advice Services' diary and email communications to ensure optimal organisation and timely responses to internal and external queries.  
• Coordinate appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements, balancing the Director’s workload and priorities.

2. Senior Leadership Support:

• Organise, plan, and take minutes at senior leadership meetings, including handling logistics like booking rooms, arranging refreshments, and notifying attendees.
• Follow up on action items and ensure the implementation of decisions made during meetings.
• Prepare and distribute reports and other documentation to keep the leadership team informed and engaged.

3. Operational and Admin Support for Deputy Director of Advice Services:

• Assist with delegated tasks from the Deputy Director to support broader operational and strategic objectives.  
• Facilitate communication between the Deputy Director and other departments or external stakeholders.  
• Support and work on operational and admin tasks as needed.

4. Operations Team Support:  

• Assist the advice services operations team with administrative tasks, particularly in finance, such as processing invoices, raising Pos, tracking payments, etc.
• Support project management activities, ensuring tasks are completed within deadlines and budgets.

5. Communication Facilitation:

• Serve as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders seeking to connect with the Advice Services directorate.
• Manage the distribution of information to staff and stakeholders to ensure consistent and clear communication.

6. Event Coordination:

• Help plan and execute internal and external events, including workshops, conferences, and staff meetings.
• Handle all event-related arrangements such as guest lists, venue, catering, and technology needs.

7. Ad-hoc Support:  

• Provide flexible support to other senior managers and teams within Toynbee Hall as needed, including during special projects and peak periods.
• Coordinate and organise additional meetings and manage any emergent administrative needs.

BUBIC (Bringing Unity Back Into the Community) is an award winning, peer-led substance misuse service supporting individuals affected by drug and alcohol dependency. Our mission is to empower people through community engagement, harm reduction strategies, and accessible support services. We work directly with vulnerable individuals, helping them break cycles of addiction and social exclusion.

Our team plays a crucial role in engaging with people who may not access traditional services, offering immediate support and practical solutions to improve their well-being. Main Purpose of the Role:

To lead the effective and high-quality delivery of peer-led support for individuals on their recovery journey across the Borough of Haringey. This role will require dynamic, hands-on management of BUBIC’s team, encompassing staff, peer mentors, and volunteers, to meet key performance indicators and community needs.

You will represent BUBIC’s values in all aspects of your work, including strengthening existing partnerships and cultivating new community links. A flexible approach is essential, with regular night shifts and occasional weekend work expected to provide outreach and attend local events.
