The Head of Education and Community Engagement is a key leadership role, providing strategic and technical direction for SPANA’s education, community engagement and Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) work. The postholder will develop tools and approaches, ensure interventions are contextually relevant and evidence-based, develop key relationships and support partners to deliver high-quality programmes that improve the lives of working animals and the communities who depend on them.
The role sits within SPANA’s Global Programmes Department (GPD) and works closely alongside colleagues in other GPD teams responsible for Animal Health and Welfare (AHW), Programmes and Data and Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Accountability (MEAL).
Salary, contract and location
This is a permanent, full time (34.5 hours per week) role based in the UK, with regular (1-2 times per month or more if preferred) attendance in SPANA's London office.
The salary for this role is c.£55,000-£60,000 subject to experience. SPANA also offers employees a range of benefits including:

St Peter’s Walworth is Sir John Soane’s first London church and one of only four Grade 1-listed buildings in Southwark. We have secured a major grant of £438,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for Development Phase funding for the “Building Beyond: Soane Reimagined” project with a view to work towards a Delivery phase grant of £3.1m. The Development Phase is now underway, with the first major procurements completed, and is set to run for 18 months, at which point a Delivery Round application will be submitted to activate a Delivery Phase. Design development needs to be completed to RIBA Stage 3, planning, Faculty and consents need to be in place and all partnership funding raised or pledged. Our fundraising target is challenging – we will need to secure more than £1m with a focus on trusts and foundations, alongside strategic partnerships. We have already engaged a consultant to develop our Fundraising Strategy and Case for Support, and that consultant will be able to work alongside the Fundraising Manager to get them off to a strong start.
The Church has excellent local networks, an active steering group including external professional expertise, a progressive and outward-facing Rector with a strong social media following, and a strong relationship with potential donors and partners with funds already secured from Southwark Council. Role Overview
The Athlete Learning and Development Manager will design and coordinate a comprehensive learning and development programme for emerging athletes, their parents and caregivers, and alumni. This will be delivered both in person and online.
This is an exciting time for SportsAid as we expand the support we offer beyond financial assistance, building on the foundations already in place. As part of our evolving approach, we are strengthening the educational resources available to them, ensuring they have access to the guidance and tools they need to thrive both on and off the field.
The role focuses on identifying athlete-led needs, curating training and workshop programmes, and working with external trainers and providers to deliver impactful sessions that best support SportsAid’s beneficiaries.
A key aspect of the role is developing educational and training content for the new online community engagement platform we are developing. You will ensure content aligns with SportsAid’s objectives while meeting the priorities of partners funding dedicated hubs within the platform, which will provide training and development content in specific focus areas. You will also help adapt training sessions into engaging, shareable online resources to maximise participation and impact.
Additionally, you will play a crucial role in planning workshop programmes for key events such as SportsAid Live, ensuring sessions are engaging, relevant, and tailored to the needs of attendees.

About you

The Individual Giving & Community Fundraising Manager will have an exciting opportunity to grow World Child Cancer’s individual giving. They will also lead on creating a donor experience that will ensure people can engage with us in lots of different ways, from a lottery or regular support, legacies, community fundraising and events (including the London Marathon).
The post holder will be responsible for:
- Managing and growing individual giving.
- Recruiting and stewarding individual supporters through existing channels.
- Helping to secure funding to invest in launching a World Child Cancer charity lottery.
- Stewarding participants to build a pool of regular givers, medium level donors, legacy donors and event participants.
- Ensuring fundraising data is effectively managed, analysed and utilised.

FSRH is the leader in the field of sexual and reproductive healthcare, and we are the voice for healthcare professionals working at the frontline of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (SRH) in a range of settings in the community and primary care. Our members include SRH specialists, GPs, nurses, midwives and pharmacists. As a multi-disciplinary professional membership organisation, we set clinical guidance and standards, provide training and lifelong education, and champion safe and effective sexual and reproductive healthcare across the lifecourse for all.
FSRH’s External Affairs Team influences policy and practice through evidence-based advocacy as well as raising awareness of SRH rights among the public. About the role
This role plays an integral part in helping manage and develop the outputs of the External Affairs team, while advising on FSRH strategic issues. As the Senior Manager and Deputy to the Director in the team, you will manage the team’s External Affairs Officer, and drive delivery of the ambitions contained in FSRH’s Hatfield Vision. As Manager to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare you will work directly with leading Parliamentarians and partners to manage and deliver the APPG’s annual programme of work and meetings.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with an interest in healthcare policy and a passion for improving society. A background in policy, public affairs, campaigning, as well as proven project management and events experience is highly desirable. Excellent writing skills are essential, as is a broad understanding of communications techniques to engage policy makers around the issues that clinicians and the public alike face.
