The Role
The External Affairs Manager at The Alan Turing Institute plays a key strategic role in building and managing influential relationships across government, academia, industry, and policy sectors to support the Institute’s mission in data science and AI. Reporting to the Head of the Executive Office, the postholder will act as a key liaison on behalf of senior leaders, fostering collaborations, spotting opportunities, and representing the Institute with credibility at the highest levels.
They will design and implement stakeholder engagement strategies, coordinate institutional interactions, and provide high-quality briefings and insights to support decision-making. This hands-on, outward-facing role requires a blend of relationship-building, strategic thinking, political awareness, and exceptional communication skills, suited to someone proactive, organised, and passionate about shaping the future of AI and tech in the UK.
Your Profile
You will be a confident and strategic relationship-builder with substantial experience navigating complex stakeholder landscapes within the UK’s research, tech, or policy sectors. With exceptional communication, influencing skills and political acumen, you will possess the ability to manage high-level external relationships across government, academia and industry. Highly organised and proactive, you will be able to juggle multiple priorities while providing credible support to senior leaders. A strong understanding of the data science and AI ecosystem is key, as is the ability to translate complex insights into clear messages, drive collaborative opportunities and represent the Institute with professionalism and purpose.
Main Duties
- Build and manage high-level relationships across government, academia, industry, and more as the Institute’s first point of contact.
- Communicate with diplomacy, clarity, and discretion in all stakeholder interactions.
- Lead a refreshed engagement strategy for universities, starting with the Turing University Network.
- Develop and deliver a stakeholder strategy to identify new collaboration opportunities across the AI and tech landscape.
- Conduct horizon scanning, sharing insights and trends to inform Institute strategy.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support shared stakeholder engagement goals.
- Coordinate stakeholder tracking across teams and create mechanisms to streamline interactions.
- Partner with Communications and other teams to creatively promote the Institute’s outputs and opportunities.

The Direct Marketing Engagement team are responsible for engaging and developing warm audiences. It’s our job to do all we can to build stronger relationships with supporters, and we do this through an interesting and diverse range of fundraising activity. The role of the Direct Marketing Executive is a varied one. You will assist the Direct Marketing Engagement team, providing support on a wide range of programmes across a variety of channels.
The role will be responsible for supporting the wider engagement team by ensuring data and supporter engagement processes are running smoothly across campaigns. Alongside this, you will ensure compliance and adherence to the most recent regulations and codes of practice is top of the agenda.
Fundraising experience is not essential for the role, but we are looking for someone with the desire and self-motivation to learn and develop, and the drive and passion to change the future for those affected by dementia. The successful candidate will be able to show this, be collaborative and enthusiastic, want to learn and develop, and be keen to get involved with the activities of the team right away.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Delivery
· Support with planning and delivery of a wide range of supporter engagement and fundraising activities, including regular newsletters, thanking communications, direct mail, appeals, raffles and telephone fundraising.
· Conducting call listening to measure fundraising quality and ensure compliance.
· Liaise with designers, printers, mailing houses, agencies and fulfilment houses.
· Support the day-to-day management of fundraising agencies and suppliers, ensuring relationships are effective and productive.
· Assist in the development and delivery of the supporter engagement programme.
· Assist in the production and delivery of motivating fundraiser training.
· Support in recommendations for change and refinement across the direct marketing programme.
Finance & Reporting
· Daily campaign tracking and reporting as well as assisting with end of campaign reviews.
· Administer the recording, reconciliation and processing of invoices to be paid from engagement Direct Marketing nominal codes.
Other duties
· Monitoring and analysing competitor and sector activity, making recommendations to the Direct Marketing team on future improvements and opportunities for testing.
· Maintain relevant guard files and documents.
· Keep up to date on the latest developments within the sector relating to best practice in fundraising.
· Proof-read direct marketing materials and collateral.
· Support in regular compliance tasks.
· Manage the Intranet on behalf of the engagement Direct Marketing team, ensuring content is up to date and useful to all staff.
· Regularly attend, support and contribute to meetings, events and fundraiser training.
· Ensure compliance and adherence to the most recent regulations and codes of practice.
· Keep up to date with dementia news, research developments and the work of ARUK and consider the impact on campaigns.
· Undertake any other relevant duties and projects delegated by the Senior Direct Marketing Officer in line with the responsibilities of the post.

Agile - As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

We’re looking to grow our delivery team with a brand new role that is responsible for processing the referrals we receive for the Settle Programme as well as holding assessment meetings as and when necessary. The successful candidate will also be a Senior Settle Coach holding a reduced caseload and using their frontline skills to work one-to-one with care-experienced young people across London.
For this role, we anticipate that you will spend 50-60% of your time processing and responding to referrals, including taking further steps to assess the needs of the young person who has been referred. To do this you’ll work closely with our Programme Management team, Business Development team and referral partners to ensure that we have all the necessary information to deal safely and appropriately with referrals. As this is a new role to the organisation, there will be scope to shape and influence the way this work is managed alongside your manager and our Chief Operating Officer.
We then anticipate you will spend the remaining 40-50% of your time as a Senior Settle Coach, working on the frontline, delivering one-to-one sessions with care-experienced young people across London. You’ll work closely with our partners to ensure the smooth delivery of our contracts and with the Programme Management team and Senior Partnerships Manager to support reporting on outcomes and regular partnership meetings.
You will report into a manager within the Programme Management team.
Candidates with experience of assessing and managing risk are encouraged to apply. Torbay’s Community Helpline was established during the Covid pandemic and has since been developed by the local community into a central access point to the voluntary and community sector as a whole. Since 2021, it has also been the front door for new Adult Social Care referrals in the area through a unique partnership with the local statutory sector. Providing the best possible support to local residents the Helpline’s strapline ‘One Call – That’s All’ sums up the holistic approach. Individuals and families can access a wide range of support from food parcels to mental health support, help with isolation to debt advice etc. The Helpline links into over 100 voluntary sector organisations locally and into grassroots networks of residents offering support to each other. The Helpline has a strengths-based approach to its operations, with callers often helping others after they have received some support.
We are looking for someone who can lead this initiative into the next phase. Someone with the relevant experience who can identify the Helpline’s potential and - working with staff, volunteers, voluntary sector and statutory sector partners - deliver excellent support to our residents and develop the Helpline to meet future needs.

We Are Survivors are currently looking for individuals that have the passion, drive and determination to help us deliver our OUT Spoken Talking Therapy Services in our Merseyside, Lancashire and Cheshire estate.
We Are Survivors provide survivor-focused therapeutic and advocacy support to male (including Trans and Non-binary) victims/survivors, and their loved ones, of sexual harms. We have developed a three-tiered approach to services and underpin everything we do with a ‘trauma and recovery’ framework pioneered by Dr Judith Herman.
We are currently commissioned to deliver trauma-informed therapy services in 15 prisons across the Northwest of England and we require postings in our prisons across Merseyside, Lancaster and Cheshire. Please note we have no vacancies in our Greater Manchester prisons.
About You
You will be a qualified counsellor / psychotherapist who holds at least a Diploma in Counselling / Psychotherapy or equivalent and be registered with BACP or equivalent (preferably an accredited member). You will understand issues relating to trauma, be able to work as part of a team and feel confident working in a prison setting. You will hold a full driving licence, have access to a vehicle and be within a reasonable commute to estates.

About the role

The Café – Nourishing Food, Nurturing Community
Our café is the social heart of The Bridge — a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space where everyone can connect, share, and feel at home. Serving seasonal, plant-based meals prepared in-house, the café champions women-led enterprises and affordable, healthy food. It hosts many of our wellbeing and creative programmes, and through initiatives like the Pay-What-You-Can Supper Club, supports emerging women chefs and builds everyday acts of care and solidarity. The café has the opportunity to not only advances our mission of improving women’s health and wellbeing but also generates vital trading income and partnership opportunities.
While it currently operates at a deficit, it plays a vital role in advancing our wellbeing and community objectives. We are now focused on realising its full commercial potential. A feasibility study is underway to explore a range of operational and business models that will transition the café into a sustainable, profit-making enterprise. Plans include expanding income-generating opportunities through hosting more events, developing an external catering offer, and maximising use of the space for private hire and functions during weekends. Room Hire – Spaces that Enable Collaboration and Impact
Our professional meeting and event spaces are used by charities, community groups, and corporate partners for workshops, training, and strategic planning. With over 500 bookings a year and a 89% return rate, these rooms are known for their quality, warmth, and service. The income they generate supports our wider mission, while also acting as a catalyst for new partnerships and collaborations.
We now aim to build on this success by increasing utilisation on our most popular days (Tuesday to Thursday) and attracting new clients to fill capacity on Mondays, Fridays, evenings, and weekends. Plans include developing loyalty packages for regular clients and introducing new offers such as team wellbeing days that align with our health and wellbeing ethos. This approach will not only maximise income potential but also strengthen The Bridge’s role as a space where organisations connect, collaborate, and thrive.

About the role
As Director, you will oversee daily operations, including forecasting and budgeting for the entire organisation (currently c£300K per annum). As such, you will lead on developing a sustainable funding stream for our mission-driven work, ensuring we maintain a 6-month runway at all times. You will build and maintain strong external relationships to help grow and develop the organisation. Funding Development + Stakeholder Relationships (40%):

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service (LAWRS) is a human rights and feminist
organisation led by and for Latin American migrant women in the UK. Our work is dedicated to
supporting the immediate and long-term needs of Latin American migrant women exposed to
violations of their fundamental human rights; facing violence against women and girls,
exploitation or trafficking; enduring difficult living and working conditions in low paid jobs, and
