Last year we saw a 133% growth in the numbers of young people facing homelessness coming through our doors. Now, nearly half of them are - or recently have been - sleeping rough and with the numbers of young rough sleepers in the capital growing at an alarming rate, New Horizon Youth Centre has had to take decisive action to unlock support and housing for this group. The Head of Services - Rough Sleeping is a brand-new role for the organisation and will lead on developing a new internal strategy for young people facing rough sleeping, as well as holding operational oversight of our established youth-specific street outreach function and emergency accommodation hub, both of which are unique in London. You will need to be strategic in approach and an excellent relationship builder. You will act as our lead colleague on relationships with the Greater London Authority and London Councils’ rough sleeping teams, working with them to ensure our learning and insights inform policy and ultimately open up access to emergency support for those under 25. Alongside this you will need a keen eye for operational detail, have experience of delivering homelessness services, and be passionate about piloting new solutions to prevent homelessness among young people. More than anything you will need to champion what young people can achieve, be committed to collaborating with others and determined to find a way.

About Us
The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.
The role
Is an exciting new edition to the TUR team, created to capitalise on the fact that the number of businesses in our catchment area is 45000+, but we’re not trying to talk to all of them, just target a few – ideally by gaining referrals and recommendations. So the job is to proactively find those local businesses happy to talk to us, understand what they might be looking for by partnering with a charity, share our brilliant story along with the business case (which is strong) for them to get involved with us in some way. We have made an excellent start, we already have a small number of great corporate partners, and this job is about taking it all on to the next level. As you would expect the role is about creating contacts, networking, maximising the face-to-face time with prospective partners and where possible gaining referrals. And, ultimately this is all because, the bigger our portfolio of corporate partners all feeling great about their involvement with us, the more able we are to raise the funds we need to keep up with an ever-increasing demand for our services.
About You
You live within - or know well, West/Central London, you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the product or service you’re talking about. You have a CV that demonstrates solid experience in a comparable role in a ‘business-to-business’ environment, a role - the success of which, is dependent on the levels of energy and proactivity you provide. This could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. However, if you have a solid B2B background and want to explore a change of direction you are also very welcome to apply. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ your story through your presentation skills. You also need great listening skills so you can build a picture of what each new corporate partner is looking to achieve by signing up to our cause. You have used Microsoft suite products before – including PowerPoint. A driving licence and use of a car is desirable as the role requires regular client visits, some of whom may not be accessible by public transport.
If this is you, please send you CV (max 2-3 pages please) and a covering letter (just a one-pager please) to our CEO telling us why you thin you are a fit for this role

About the role:

People experiencing homelessness are often from the most socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and are digitally excluded. Digital access is crucial for peoples’ independence – e.g. accessing Universal Credit or GPs, but it’s also fundamental in addressing isolation and loneliness. Feeling connected to others can be the difference between someone continuing their journey out of homelessness or falling back into drug-use due to isolation/loneliness – we want to break the vicious cycle between digital and social exclusion.
As the Digital Inclusion Project Coordinator, your objectives will be to spearhead initiatives aimed at increasing digital inclusion within SHP’s diverse communities. This multifaceted role requires a blend of strategic planning, community engagement, technological proficiency, and environmental stewardship. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders from both withing SHP and externally to develop and implement sustainable solutions that bridge the digital divide and minimize the environmental impact of electronic waste.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience in community outreach, project management, and stakeholder engagement, preferably in the fields of digital inclusion, sustainability, or social justice.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage with diverse audiences and communicate complex concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
- Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities to identify barriers, develop innovative solutions, and address complex challenges related to digital exclusion and e-waste management.
- Willingness to embrace change, navigate ambiguity, and adapt strategies in response to evolving priorities, emerging trends, and feedback from stakeholders and community members.
- Confidence to promote the benefits of the digital world and to challenge traditional silos and system barriers, as well as the ability to use different approaches and methods of communication with different stakeholder in order to achieve this
- The willingness and ability to provide flexible support, including support in the community and a variety of settings
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain productive partnerships with different agencies, non-profit organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders to leverage resources

The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We campaign to change policy. We work to change systems that are set up to stand in the way of young people. And we run local services that support children directly when the policies and systems have failed them. We're here for children, every step of the way.
This is a rare opportunity to join our Social Impact Domain until July 2025 - covering parental leave. In Social Impact, our focus is on elevating young people's voices; addressing public perceptions of the challenges young people face; and using our brand to attract and mobilise support. Your role is critical to developing bold and powerful communications, carving out a unique brand identity which is brought to life by authentic storytelling that inspires, motivates and mobilises our audiences.
The role
As our Lead Creative, you'll be responsible for evolving a distinctive brand identity and personality, overseeing the development and production of creative collateral and assets across all channels and formats to bring our brand to life for our audiences.
We're looking for a dynamic creative leader, who can apply audience insights to develop brave, innovative and powerful creative propositions and concepts that deliver impact via cross-platform, multi-channel campaigns.
Us
At The Children's Society we have a bold vision and ambition for children and young people. We're throwing all we have at overturning the damaging decline in children's wellbeing by the end of 2030. We plan to set a path for lasting growth in wellbeing for young people. We support children facing abuse, exploitation and neglect, and we challenge the systems that let them down.
Our Goal is huge and we are determined to change the world for more young people. We know we can only do this by having a brilliant, committed, energetic team that's backed up by a movement of thousands of people who choose to stand with us, and support us with their time, their money and their voice.
To meet the challenge, we're overhauling how we operate. We've established new ways of working, transforming from a traditional charity structure into an agile, dynamic, fully integrated approach. That's where you come in.
You
You're an excellent leader who encourages people to try new things. You thrive when delivering bold and powerful communications that create cut-through, capturing people's imaginations, evoking feelings, and driving action.

With natural creative flair, great planning and prioritisation, and a track-record in delivering excellence, you care about promoting inclusive representation and creating opportunities for co-creation for those with lived experience.
To achieve our goal, we've got to approach things differently. You'll inspire colleagues to push the boundaries of possibility, and your vision and ambition comes with a healthy sense of what's possible with what we have available to us today, knowing what 'good-enough' looks like!

The MEAM coalition has worked for fifteen years across more than 50 local areas in England, supporting local partnerships to tackle the structural and systemic issues that cause and sustain multiple disadvantage. We run the national MEAM Approach network, supported Fulfilling Lives from 2014-2022 and hold the current support contract for the Government and The National Lottery Community Fund’s Changing Futures programme. Our position enables us to bring learning together from these programmes to understand what drives change and allows people to make improvements in their lives.
This new role will be responsible for leading the implementation of our new network membership structure, and ensuring members are supported to actively participate in the MEAM Approach network. As the Membership Manager, you will build relationships with our network members, oversee communications to the network, manage our online community platform, and identify ways in which we can further support network members through commercial opportunities. You will combine your deep knowledge of multiple disadvantage with a curious and collaborative approach to your work, demonstrating a genuine interest in developing and contributing to the growing knowledge and experience in systems thinking and systems leadership across the team. You will share your reflections and insights generously with the team and be open to positive challenge as you develop your practice.
Your approach to work will embrace and embody MEAM’s unique approach developed over the last fifteen years: highly collaborative; practical yet ambitious support; and focused on rebalancing power in systems through meaningful coproduction. You will be firmly committed to improving the lives of people facing multiple disadvantage and committed to helping us drive forward areas of our work where we have made some progress but more needs to be done, in particular around equitable access to effective support for women and racially minoritised groups and deepening our understanding of multiple disadvantage through an intersectional framework.
You will feel competent delivering work remotely and online, but will also be willing to travel nationally for face-to-face work. You will be comfortable working as part of a dispersed team, requiring you to be significantly self-driven in your work.
MEAM values and prioritises different perspectives and all lived experience and as such we encourage applications from all under-represented groups. Specifically, we are seeking to increase representation in our team of people with lived experience of multiple disadvantage and people from racially minoritised groups.
