As the Community Shop and Online Manager for our flagship store in Mere Green you will lead a team of paid staff and volunteers. You’ll be empowered to make decisions locally whilst working within a supportive framework. Fundraising Development Manager

Job Purpose - Facilities Manager - Projects 

The role holder will report directly to the Head of Estates whilst working closely with the Facilities Manager and the wider team, as well as operational colleagues.

The role holder will be responsible for the delivery of specific ad hoc estates projects, whilst also providing support to the wider Estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual activity to ensure the development of an estate that delivers outstanding outcomes for the people we support, ensuring the portfolio is managed safely, cost effectively and in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

This role requires an individual with strong project management capability within an estate’s environment, with a demonstrable track record of delivery of projects on time, to Budget and to the requisite level of quality.

Reporting directly to the Head of Estates, the role holder will: 

• Lead the estates input in the expansion of the existing property footprint.
• Onboard new additions to the estate’s property portfolio efficiently and effectively.
• Work collaboratively with operational colleagues ensuring “best outcomes” are delivered for the people we support in the development and maintenance of the estate.
• Support the wider estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual activities.
• Be visible and on site to ensure the smooth running of projects and the timely resolution of issues. 

Dimensions

Whilst the role currently has no direct reports assigned, the level of project activity and the consequential resource requirements will determine any additional staffing needs. The nature of individual projects will determine this although it is anticipated that project spend will be circa £0.5m+ per annum.

Principal Accountabilities

Estates and Facilities Management 

• Responsibility: Act as the senior estates and facilities professional on project work assigned. 

• Project Plans: Ensure there is a clear and documented estates plan for each project assigned and lead the implementation of these plans to ensure best possible outcomes for the people we support. In the planning and delivery of projects, the role holder must ensure that due consideration is given to operational requirements. 

• Project Performance: Ensure a robust contract performance management framework is in place for each project. 

• Regulatory: Ensure all project work is undertaken in accordance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirements. 

• Resource Management: Manage and co-ordinate both AFG staff and external contractors in the delivery of projects. Where required mitigating actions/plans may need to be taken to ensure that projects are delivered to requirements. 

• Onboarding: With support from the Head of Estates, lead the estates input re. property acquisition (both support with the identification of appropriate property and subsequent due diligence). 

• Expansion: With support from the Head of Estates, lead the estates input re. the expansion of existing estates footprint. 

• Business Cases: Prepare business cases, feasibility studies for consideration by the Head of Estates and onwards by the Executive/Director team. 

• Business as Usual Estates Activity: The role holder will be required to work alongside the Estates Manager and the wider estates team in the delivery of business-as-usual estates activity (including site visits, contract monitoring meetings, supervision of reactive repairs etc.), where project requirements mean the role holder has capacity to undertake this work. 

Financial Management

• Financial Performance: Manage project related budgets, ensuring projects are delivered to Budget, to the requisite quality and to time. 

• Procurement: Work closely with the Procurement team to source potential suppliers for services and ensure those services are sourced on a “Value for money” (VFM) basis, and in accordance with the terms of the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation. 

• Tenders: Working closely with the Procurement function of the Charity, take the estates lead in tender activity where assigned, ensuring that activity is undertaken in accordance with the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation. 

• Cost Reduction/Service Improvement: Lead in ensuring we are continually striving to reduce cost/improve service provision. 

• Commercial Acumen: Commercially savvy to drive continuous improvement opportunities (both financial and operational). 

Sustainability, Efficiency, and Innovation 

• Estates Development: Ensure development activity within the estate takes account of environmental considerations/technological advances in the go-forward design.

Job Title: Partnership Development Manager

Salary: £34,500.

Contract Type: Contract for 18 months; there is a strong possibility that currently anticipated growth in the team may see this role become permanent during the contract term. The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to three million means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.   

When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.  

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.

Our developed and respected Psychotherapy and Counselling Service has been providing long-term counselling interventions to local residents since 1988. The service is self-funded and offers a range of therapies which aim to provide individuals with the support and opportunity to work through their difficulties in depth with a skilled and experienced trainee or fully qualified therapist. Sliding scale rates are offered to make sure that we are accessible to all. We are looking for a skilled and qualified (or in advance training) counselling supervisor to provide clinical supervision, leadership, management and service development of our Psychotherapy and Counselling service. Responsibilities:

• To work with the team to collate an overall digital fundraising plan, communication channels, and measures of success
• Develop, create and implement multichannel digital fundraising campaigns, working with the relevant fundraising team
• To monitor new digital fundraising opportunities, agreeing tests with managers subject to budgets, and reporting on performance
• Evaluate, assess and adjust campaigns against digital fundraising and marketing key goals
• Help improve the website as a tool for fundraising and supporter engagement, focusing on the creation and development of landing pages, donation forms, and supporter actions
• Create engaging, impactful, and creative content to support fundraising and marketing campaigns for paid and organic digital and social media activity maximising engagement levels and income growth whenever possible.
• To lead ongoing strategic and operations testing across emails and digital fundraising to optimise fundraising for Haven House
• Produce high-quality, timely and inspiring emails for donors and supporters, to increase income and engagement
• Devise and manage innovative social media campaigns to increase social engagement, ensuring suitable mechanisms are in place to effectively evaluate their success
• Work with website developers to implement Google Analytics and Facebook tracking across the website and third-party tools
• Experience with creating and producing newsletters and appeals within an email service provider and experience with building campaigns through social media tools like Facebook Ad Manager within the software packages

Who are Women’s Aid?   

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.    

Purpose of the Project Manager role:   

As Project Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral role in working across the organisation to ensure that sound project management principles are being used in all aspects of our work. You will be responsible for delivering cross-cutting, significant and complex programmes and projects that underpin Women’s Aid’s strategy. 

You will support the Head of Strategic Programmes to effectively schedule and monitor the projects, programmes and core business activity across the organisation, in line with our key strategic goals.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager: 

• Full scale project management of key strategic projects across a project’s full life cycle, to deliver within scope, on time, on budget, and within quality commitments. This includes designing project models, allocating resources, scheduling, monitoring, stakeholder communications, reporting and budget management. 

• Assessing and recommending to the senior leadership team the viability and suitability of new proposed projects. 

• Continually ensuring project specific risks are identified, assessed and mitigated, and escalating to senior managers as appropriate. 

• Supporting the creation, embedding and monitoring of performance and outcome measures relating to project deliverables.

• Monitoring and managing interdependencies between projects across the organisation, and ensuring that projects are delivered in line with Women’s Aid’s strategic objectives. 

• Building professional and functional working relationships with key stakeholders, across all levels, to ensure optimum information flow and understanding of key business areas.

What we are looking for in our Project Manager: 

Essential: 

• Substantial (5+ years) proven experience in project planning and execution, monitoring and reporting, and achievement of objectives. 

• Experience managing large (£50k+) and complex (e.g. cross-cutting multiple teams/functions) budgets. 

• Ability to work at pace and deliver to deadlines, prioritising work depending on organisational need.

• Ability to interpret top-line briefs and turn these into practical action.

• Ability to identify and manage project-based risks and issues, identify key decision points and define options for decision-makers. 

• Ability to work on own initiative to meet objectives in a complex, changing environment 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation and presenting to a wide range of audiences 

• Knowledge of a variety of project management principles and frameworks.

• Willingness to travel across the UK on occasion, as required by the job role 

• A basic understanding of the experiences and needs of women and children affected by gender-based violence.

What you’ll be doing …

Manage and administer the pilot project to develop a recognition arrangement (RA) framework for licensing Chartered Geologist (CGeol) status to professional bodies overseas, using the new framework to secure three RAs within the project period.

Overall responsibilities / requirements … 

Systems and Process 

• Setup systems and processes to manage new licensing framework and chartership applications. 
• Setup systems and processes to manage quality control of applicants and assessments. 
• Setup systems and processes to manage billing and data/records management and sharing. 
• Setup Systems and processes to assess RA candidates for Chartership. 

Support licensing application process

• Manage enquiries relating to licensing applications.
• Process applications for licensing including data entry and file management.
• Working with the Chartership Officer (CO) organise training for licensed organisation assessors.
• Support the CO to develop and manage the Society’s Chartership assessor’s training programme.
• Organise welcome packs & certificates and training materials.
• Ensure accurate record management and compliance with GDPR guidelines.

Provide effective support to Licensed organisations

• Ensure communications are handled in a prompt and professional manner.
• Ensure that Service delivery targets are maintained
• Ensure regular data collection from licensed organisations for their CGeol registrants.
• Organise invoicing and fee collections for licensing and associated fees.
• Organise periodic review of licensed organisations to ensure quality control.

Support Lead generation and promotional activities

• Working with the Head of Fellowship Services, develop and implement initiatives to promote and generate leads for potential partners for Licensing.
• Initiate and engage with potential partners for licensing.
• Working with the Head of Fellowship Services develop and maintain a licensed organisation engagement programme.
• Review and update web pages in relation to licensing.
