About the role 

As we embark on a new ten-year strategy, this is a unique opportunity to lead the development of a radical and ambitious approach to partnerships with businesses, building on the successful partnerships we have with Lloyds Banking Group, Specsavers, Taylor Wimpey, Berkeley Homes and many more. 

This pivotal role will lead the development of a corporate and commercial engagement strategy across Crisis, growing and deepening our portfolio of corporate partners, broadening their support for our organisation and our cause, and inspiring them to act within their businesses. The role also involves leading the continued development of our fundraising and partnerships outside of London, creating a national support network to end homelessness. 

While the role is directly responsible for strategic and corporate partnerships, the post holder will lead across the charity, ensuring a joined-up approach across retail, service delivery (including Crisis at Christmas), brand partnerships, venture philanthropy, investments, and innovation. 

The role also involves membership of the Brand, Marketing & Fundraising senior team and the organisation’s Senior Leadership Group, where it plays an important organisation-wide leadership role. Additional investment has recently been made in the team, and senior leadership and the Board have committed to supporting its success.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Anti-Bullying Ambassador Programme engages young people and teachers to change the attitudes, behaviour and culture of bullying by building skills and confidence to address different situations, both online and offline. We do this by bringing together young people and teachers from multiple schools at full-day regional training events across the UK. Each training day focuses on provided anti-bullying content which our Facilitators bring to life through engaging and interactive activities.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly organised, is reliable and is passionate about facilitating to young people.

Exact locations of school sessions will be provided to successful applicants but please be mindful that this can be across the UK, so a willingness to travel (with some overnight stays) is essential. (Travel and accommodation costs are reimbursed.)

ROLE ACTIVITIES 

• Deliver full-day, in-person training sessions to a range of primary and secondary school aged young people with the aim of empowering young people to tackle bullying behaviour in their schools.

• Undertake preparation activities to familiarise yourself with training session materials.

• Participate in supervision at agreed intervals with the Programme Coordinator and additional trainings and briefings as assessed appropriate. 

• Keep young people safe while participating in sessions by adhering to The Diana Award’s safeguarding policy and practice, including reporting all safeguarding concerns and disclosures to The Diana Award’s Designated Safeguarding Manager.

• Book and expense your own travel arrangements, in line with our Expense Policy. 

• Collect post-training surveys and input data into Excel. 

FEE

£175 per day for paired facilitation

PERSON SPECIFICATION  

• Confident and engaging public speaker, with ability to engage large groups of young people

• A demonstrable understanding of issues affecting young people; this could include topics such as bullying behaviour, online safety and mental health

The successful candidate will track and analyse media coverage of MSF in the UK through daily monitoring and the production of a weekly newsletter and quarterly reports. They will also debrief members of staff returning from MSF’s medical projects, as well as pitching stories to news outlets. Role also involves some social media management and opportunities to contribute to MSF events, such as Scientific Day.

This role is an opportunity to gain exposure to media work and explore the day-to-day work of an international NGO and to understand how and why we communicate. Head of Centre Operations

We are seeking an experienced Head of Centre Operations to work for one of the UK’s top animal welfare charities based in Watford, committed to improving the lives of the UK’s pets and striving to give every animal the best chance of finding a new home.

About the role:

The Head of Centre Operations is responsible for delivering the Trust’s strategic aims through a team of over ninety employees, as well as a significant number of volunteers across the organisations five rescue and re-homing centres and remote supporter groups.

This is a ‘hands-on’ role, the Head of Operations will plan, lead and consistently deliver in the charity’s rescue, rehoming and preventative work; maintaining high standards of animal welfare and customer service at all times.

Sightsavers is looking for a Head of Institutional Funding - a vital role within our expanding institutional funding team to lead the development and implementation of a portfolio of work currently focused on West Africa and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors

Salary: £58,000 - £65,000

We are looking for an experienced institutional funding expert to lead and manage a busy portfolio. This is a role in which the successful candidate will need to juggle multiple and complex projects. Key duties will include:

• Leading the development and implementation of a portfolio of work within the institutional funding team (IFT) currently focused on West Africa (17 Anglophone, Francophone and Lusophone countries), and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors as prioritised.
• Providing direct line management and strategic support to a sub-team within IFT, that will support continued income growth and contract management, in line with the Institutional Funding strategy.
• Managing existing grant / contracts falling within the remit of this role and secure new income to the organisation.
• Supporting programme learning and capacity building of country office teams and partners and to deputise for the Director of Institutional Funding

This role is involved and multi-faceted with regular meetings across the organisation. This is a full-time role that may be worked from home for the majority of the time however some visits to our offices in Haywards Heath, West Sussex (RH16 3BW) will be required. On average this is likely to be twice per year. If you prefer to work from or are visiting our collaborative, modern office space, you will find it an easy 20-minute train journey from Brighton or 45 minutes from London. Programme travel to West Africa and other locations will also be necessary - we anticipate approximately three trips per year, usually of one week each.

Co-production and Engagement Lead

We have an exciting opportunity to work in a senior management role improving the lives of people with severe learning disabilities and their families, within a small national charity with a reputation for excellence. 

The Co-production and Engagement Lead will be leading and delivering a 3-year National Lottery funded project through co-production with a range of stakeholders and be responsible for creating local networks and sharing best practice

Position: Co-production & Engagement Lead

The Role

The foundation is a registered charity which exists to improve the quality of life of people (children, young people and adults) with severe learning disabilities whose behaviour challenges and the families who support them.

We are currently looking for a Co-production & Engagement Lead to deliver a 3-year project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.  Working closely with a small friendly staff team, and 3 regional family carers (specifically employed for this project), you will be responsible for developing 3 regional networks across England, sharing best practice locally and nationally, linking with the Challenging Behaviour – National Strategy Group, and ensuring co-production and family carer engagement is promoted and embedded as best practice.

About You

You will have up to date and relevant knowledge and/or experience of children’s and/or adult policy and practices (learning disabilities) across health, education and social care and be fully committed to working in co-production and supporting family carers to fully engage as partners in the process to achieve the best outcomes.

A proven project manager, who thinks strategically and has the ability to work with a range of stakeholders across multiple sites, You will need to be highly organised, skilled at project management, knowledgeable about current policy and practices, and a confident communicator adept at influencing a wide range of stakeholders.

The Challenging Behaviour Foundation was set up in 1997 by Vivien Cooper OBE, the parent of a child with severe learning disabilities who displayed a range of challenging behaviours. At the time, there was no support for families like Viv’s and no adequate provision to support her son – other than almost three hundred miles away!

ELMS consists of 4 supported houses, a small floating support service and a day programme for adults experiencing severe, enduring mental health problems. The service is commissioned to provide longer term placements, with varying lengths of stay. This role involves travelling between the houses and working some weekends.

About the role:

Project workers will work with clients at their own pace to develop their independent living skills as much as possible, manage their prescribed treatment, develop their living skills, develop & manage relationships and build social networks. Where possible you will assist them to access education, training or employment, by completing comprehensive needs and risk assessments with clients and identifying short-term objectives.

As a Project Worker you will take part in all aspects of the day to day running of the schemes, working as part of a shift from Monday to Sunday.  You will be required to work with clients effectively; providing support via structured key working.  You will also carry out assessments including risk assessments and goal setting via SHP support planning.  All Support plans will aim to promote SHP’s values and practices.

You will be responsible for implementing holistic support strategies to address the emotional, practical and housing management needs of residents of the project. This includes assisting residents with maintaining their mental health, practical daily tasks and maintaining a safe, clean, living environment.

The role will form a pivotal position within the schemes as Project workers are the point of contact for daily events. This might include structured group work, you will also support the project leads with activities and support case-holders to carry out allocated tasks.

• A working knowledge of severe and enduring mental ill-health, and the interventions and effective approaches to supporting individuals experiencing such conditions.
• A Person-Centred support approach and the ability to create collaborative support plans, build rapport, and foster collaboration with residents.

About the role: 

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Grants Officer to join our dynamic organisation. During this maternity cover, Grants Officer will report directly to the Director of Grants, Contracts and Compliance. They will work across all of Internews’ geographies to provide the highest standard of grant management support to partners receiving higher value grants from us. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grant Management and Compliance

· Provide grant management support to Programme Management Units, country offices and partners. Participate in regional portfolio reviews.

· Support start‐ups of partner projects by coordinating project stakeholders and ensuring that all relevant processes and procedures are in place.

· Develop guidance documents and procedures to enable effective and compliant operation of partner projects. Supports project teams in adapting Internews’ standard sub-granting policies, procedures and toolkits to country contexts.

· Review and sign off on alldue‐diligence assessments in preparation for sub‐granting to partners.

· When requested, support project teams and the Business Officers, in monthly spend and burn rate reviews and donor report submissions

· Monitor the compliance from HQ to satisfy organisational and donorrequirements.

· Monitor the implementation of partner projects to ensure the implementation process is in line with grant agreements; and proposes solutions to implementation issues. Quality‐assure partner reporting, and track co-financing liabilities.

· Provide end-to-end management of partnership agreements, including drafting.

· Participate in project close-outs. Contribute to audit; support the audit manager on queries about sub-grants.

· Maintain records on the organisational grant management system.

Partnerships and Development

· Design and implement grant management and compliance trainings for partners and Internews staff.

· Identify and document best grant management practices from individual grants, works with M&E colleagues to coordinate debriefings with stakeholders.

· Advise development colleagues on key considerations relating to donor and statutory compliance requirements as related to sub-grants.

· Contribute to the development of partner budget proposals to ensure their appropriateness and compliance.

· Transfer grant-management expertise to country offices

· Support country office leadership teams to identify requirements and recruit grant management staff;

· Deliver trainings for key grant management staff in country offices and PMUs.

Expert advice

· Manage and develop the grants expertise at GC&C team ensuring the highest standards of grant management support to PMUs, country offices and regional and multi-country portfolios as required.

· Provide ongoing feedback to the Director of GC&C on required improvement and updates on donor regulations and contractual obligations to ensure organisational knowledge is built and improved continuously, with particular focus on the consistence and continuous improvement of sub-granting processes.

· Ensure good knowledge management across grants, including key project documentation, to enable all teams supporting the grant to access information and provide a fully auditable trail.

· Contribute to annual work planning and budgeting process.

The Head of Programme Funding will manage and provide strong leadership to a dynamic team of six who support the Action Against Hunger Network to position for, access and deliver programmes with UK institutional funding, in line with the International Strategic Plan 3 (2021-5). Key donors include FCDO, DEC, Start Fund, Power of Nutrition and ELRHA.

The post holder will strengthen and expand the programme funding portfolio through the implementation of our 5-year Programme Funding Strategy and UK Government Engagement Strategy, ensuring our global Network secure and manage UK Aid and other UK funding, engaging with the UK Government and wider sector. Working closely with key stakeholders across Action Against Hunger UK, the post holder will bring a strategic and tactical approach to engagement and positioning which combines our UK and Global priorities to those of our important funding stakeholders – not least the UK Government at National, regional and local levels. The post holder will also seek to diversify our programme funding portfolio through expanding commercial contracts, climate change programming and the identification and support of funding opportunities for Nutrition, MEAL, Advocacy and UK Programme teams.

The post holder will engage positively and effectively with the Action Against Hunger Network, representing the UK at the International Donor Relations Unit (IDRU) within the Network. They will act as a key focal point for both programmatic insight from the Network as well as insight from the donor community and being able to capitalise on this important role. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our regional programme staff and a global network of over 35 partners, providing technical design and digital product support and developing projects in line with partner and donor requirements.

In this interim role, you will support KTI’s Digital and Design team in implementing the core programme design strategy, including our digital products, working alongside the Director of Delivery and Impact and with the Senior Leadership Team.
