ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of the Regional Safeguarding Lead role is to support safeguarding practice in dioceses and cathedrals across the Church of England.

As a Regional Safeguarding Lead, you will support the development of best safeguarding practices in one of eight regional clusters of Diocesan Boards of Finance (DBFs) and cathedrals. Providing professional supervision and quality assurance to Safeguarding Officers, you will support the implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice. You will also support Church bodies to respond to the findings of the Independent Safeguarding Audit Programme.

You will facilitate the sharing of best practices and resources, group supervision, and the commissioning of joint initiatives between Church bodies. Working closely with senior managers, senior clergy and other stakeholders, you will ensure Church-wide consistency in approach.

• Providing 1:1 professional supervision to Safeguarding Officers in dioceses and cathedrals, informed by the 4x4x4 integrated/restorative model of supervision (Morrisson & Wonnacott).
• Providing advice and guidance on individual cases and safeguarding-related situations.
• Using tools and frameworks to examine practices and processes ensuring the Church of England's National Safeguarding Standards are being consistently met or worked towards.
• Leading regional networks of safeguarding professionals from dioceses and cathedrals, and facilitating joint working, sharing of resources and other mutual support arrangements.
• Establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders within dioceses and cathedrals, in particular, their senior leadership teams.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience of working at a strategic level, at least at the middle manager level, influencing decision-making and implementation. You'll have a case worker lead responsibility in cases involving the protection and safeguarding of children and/or vulnerable adults, and up-to-date knowledge of research and evidence-based practice models relevant to safeguarding.

You will also need:

• A professional qualification or equivalent experience relevant to safeguarding.

• The ability to apply safeguarding theory and good practice models in a way that delivers positive outcomes for children and/or vulnerable adults.
• Experience in leading organisation change and development, including cultural change, that results in improved outcomes for relevant stakeholders.

PR Officer

This role is offered on a hybrid contract giving you the opportunity to also work from home three days a week.

Purpose of Role

As a PR Officer, you will play an important role in planning and delivering creative national and regional PR strategies for Comic Relief’s partnerships and fundraising campaign while leading the efficient running of Comic Relief’s busy Press Office.

You will work across a broad and exciting range of projects and strategic campaigns throughout the year that combine the worlds of entertainment, sport, and charity. This will include Red Nose Day, Sport Relief and winter fundraising initiatives, bespoke events and activations, as well as working with some of Comic Relief’s high-profile partners and well-known brands. These wide ranging, creative and exciting campaigns will drive income, awareness, and brand consideration at a time when the charity gets set to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025.

You will need to have a good understanding of the UK media landscape; feel confident in approaching journalists with new ideas; have experience of gaining media coverage at both a national and regional level; and experience of monitoring PR coverage and campaigns.

Running Comic Relief’s busy Press Office alongside proactive PR campaigns is a responsibility shared by every member of the PR team. You will be required to take a leading role in the efficient running of the Press Office, which can include handling media enquiries as well as contributing and editing internal comms updates.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised communicator, brimming with ideas and initiative, who is used to working as part of a small but busy team.

Key responsibilities:

Assist the planning and delivery of creative national and regional PR strategies that feed into, and support, the charity’s strategic objectives to drive income and raise awareness of the positive impact of Comic Relief and the work of its funded partners in the UK and around the world

Help to develop new ideas, content, and stories to secure media coverage for national and regional digital platforms, print and broadcast media

Set up media interviews, write briefing materials and attend interviews when required (this may require travel around the UK on occasion)

Own projects from planning through to evaluation with support of your line manager

Establish, develop and maintain strong and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. This could include internal colleagues, partners, journalists, producers, talent publicists and colleagues from organisations that receive funding from Comic Relief

Work closely with external partners and organisations where appropriate to help maximise their involvement with Comic Relief – this might be PR agencies or partner PR/Media teams

Draft and edit high quality, compelling written materials and ensure sign off on all materials, including press releases, interview briefing documents, lines against enquiry and spokespeople quotes

Work with Comic Relief funded partners, and the people they support, to show the positive impact donations make. This may involve setting up and managing visits with journalists, influencers, and celebrity supporters

Take a leading role in the day-to-day running of an efficient Press Office alongside the wider team. This includes responding to media enquiries, ensuring a smooth process from start to finish by working with teams across the organisation to draft responses; uploading press releases to the website; drafting internal updates; using our media database platform to create targeted media lists; using CRM systems to support relationship management

Implement and lead all Press Office processes including the morning press update for internal stakeholders; monitoring our general media enquiries inbox and phone; using our media monitoring platforms to monitor, save and evaluate coverage; compiling coverage reports

Be flexible and support the PR team with ad hoc tasks as directed, such as delivering PR events; attending shoots to gather media assets; researching and pitching stories to media

• Experience of working within a busy press office environment/ PR agency or as a journalist. 

• Experience of supporting with or delivering impactful media campaigns or stories that have helped secure quality coverage in national and regional news outlets, as well as softer consumer features.

• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft engaging copy for a range of audiences, including political, consumer, tabloid, trade and everything in between. 

• Experience of working with case studies, identifying and preparing stories for the media and empowering people to share their experiences.

The Role

In this role, you will manage key donor relationships, co-ordinate mailings and plan supporter events. About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference and play a vital role within the Fundraising team at MHA. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the individual giving programme in line with the wider strategic objectives.

To do this you will manage the direct mail appeals and online campaigns, coordinate the regular giving programme, develop the strategy for the acquisition of new supporters and retention of existing ones, and produce the twice-yearly supporter newsletter. You would also provide additional support for the legacy programme when required.

About You
We are looking for a passionate and creative individual giving fundraiser or marketeer to develop and drive forward the programme. You will have a track record of delivering against income targets and KPIs, and be experienced in delivering campaigns and activities on time and within budget.

With excellent writing and communication skills, you will be able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.

Position Summary

The Global Center is seeking an early/mid-career professional to support capacity development programming that advances equitable collaboration between civil society, government, private sector, and multilateral actors to realize a more just and secure world.

Working under the supervision of colleagues addressing cross-cutting thematic and geographic programs, the successful candidate has a demonstrated passion for human rights, security, and development and is keen to contribute their skills to a diverse range of programs.

The position will initially support Global Center programs on rehabilitation and reintegration of former terrorism offenders in Bangladesh and Indonesia, as well as other Global Center projects relating to countering the financing of terrorism and other related issues. As needed, other engagements may include work to empower civil society, advance justice and good governance, and influence national, regional, and international security policy and practice.

Working alongside staff in London, Nairobi, New York, or DC you will collaborate with international experts, project partners, and funders to develop and implement programs globally, including regular travel to countries of operation.

Responsibilities will include a range of operational and administrative tasks in support of Global Center’s programs, including contributing to planning, delivery, evaluation and program activities; logistical planning, coordination, and execution of events and meetings; drafting and editing of project documents, correspondence, and meeting materials; data entry; note taking; research assistance; communication with partners, diplomats and vendors; database management and contacts maintenance; as well as other tasks as assigned.

Role and Responsibilities

As a member of an international, dynamic, and multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will be assigned the following responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of project workplans, including inception phase consultations and capacity development activities.
• Collaborate with team members, expert-practitioners, project partners, and funders in the development and implementation of program activities.
• Assist with the cultivation and management of a network of local, regional, and international beneficiaries, experts, partners, and donors from government, community groups, and civil society organizations.
• Organize the administrative and logistical planning of activities, including the preparation of meeting materials, securing venues and equipment, and arranging transportation.
• Support effective financial management of program activities, including adherence to organizational procurement policies, expense reporting, management of vendor relationships, and processing of contractual and vendor payments with approval.
• Collect data and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of program activities.
• Produce rigorous reporting on program developments, experience, lessons learned, challenges, and assess short, medium and long-term results.
• Contributes to research tasks as needed, including program background research, issue and policy analysis, and research components of publications as needed.
• Support fundraising and development efforts, including drafting components of concept notes and proposals and contributing to context analysis and program design.
• Collaborate on and assist with organization-wide priorities, including administrative support, research, internal and external meetings, and strategic reviews and evaluations as needed.
• International travel will be required.

Core Knowledge and Skills

• Strong organizational and program management skills, including with scheduling, event planning, and working across multiple time-zones.
• Strong ability to meet deadlines, manage tasks and schedules, maintain regular and responsive communication, and work independently as well as in a collaborative team.
• Interest and/or knowledge on human rights-based responses to political violence and violent extremism, including gender-responsive security policies and practices.
• Interest and/or understanding of the centrality of human rights and the rule of law in the prevention and response to political violence and violent extremism.
• Proven ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy in an exciting but challenging environment, including ability to navigate cultural, linguistic, and political landscapes.
• Ability to engage effectively and respectfully with a range of cross-cultural colleagues and stakeholders, including partners, consultants, government officials, non-governmental organizations, and embassy personnel.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in international relations, law, international development, criminology, sociology, security policy, or other related field is required.
• 2-5 years of professional experience is required.
• Excellent written communication skills are essential. Foreign language skills are desired, but not required.
• Experience interacting with internal and external contacts such as government and policymakers, civil society, and donors (experience in the Global South is an advantage).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
• Must have authorization to work in the United Kingdom, Kenya, or the United States.

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Website and Digital Communications Officer. This role has been established to support and deliver the digital element of our communications, which involves monitoring our online presence and creating compelling and effective online content for our website, social media and other digital channels.

In this role you will:

· Update content for St Mungo’s website for various teams/functions as required, ensuring that it is properly modified for Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) purposes.

· Supporting the pro-active monitoring of social media and respond in an appropriate and timely manner: X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn inclusive.

· Work with the Website and Digital Communications Manager to develop content across all platforms

· To support teams across the organisation in planning and implementing digital campaigns/campaigns with a digital element.

· To produce regular reports on the performance of our website, social media and other online activity. Share this intelligence and use it to inform strategy.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

· Demonstrable experience of working with social media (specifically X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn), using social media listening tools and developing online content.

· Experience of web content editing, digital marketing and communications.

· Good project and time management skills.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· A keen appetite to learn and be capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

· Confidence using IT systems, including social media platforms, website content systems (specifically WordPress), video and Microsoft packages.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training, in person collaboration, team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations.

AdviceUK makes a big impact. Its stakeholder, policy and advocacy work is across devolved nations as well as the UK. They support members, so it is easier for them to help their clients, and by directly influencing policy-makers, decision-makers and funders. This is an exciting time to join AdviceUK's growing team as they launch a new three-year strategy. The organisation will be making a significant investment in capacity, new support services and innovation to deliver the support and advice that members, the wider advice sector and their communities need.

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will support policy and public affairs activities, ensuring AdviceUK's has a strong voice and messages are heard at a national and regional level across England, Scotland, and Wales, so AdviceUK can secure policy, funding and system change to benefit people seeking advice and the communities served by our members. The postholder will collaborate with colleagues to ensure their advocacy and campaigns are robust, challenging and independent and to raise AdviceUK's profile and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Policy Support & Monitoring: Collaborate with stakeholders to inform policy efforts, develop policy materials, monitor political and regulatory developments, and keep stakeholders updated on activities.
• Stakeholder Management & Public Affairs: Maintain stakeholder engagement, manage parliamentary contacts, align stakeholder mapping with policy objectives, and engage members in advocacy work.
• Media Relations: Create compelling stories for media, manage media communications, build relationships with journalists, and develop a press office function.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Provide data analysis to support decision-making, maintain data accuracy, and ensure alignment with KPIs through quality reporting.

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will have at least two years' experience working in policy and public affairs. The successful candidate will have experience and/or an understanding of the social welfare advice sector and the issues faced by advice providers and the communities they serve. You will have excellent knowledge of local and national government structures, the UK and devolved parliaments within a policy context, with experience of political and media mapping, working within the Parliamentary/Whitehall landscape and experience of 1:1 briefing of MPs, civil servants and the media. You will have worked in partnership on campaigns, and you will be able to build strong relationships with colleagues, partners and suppliers. You will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and excellent analytical and decision-making skills to translate data and evidence into actionable insights to inform decision-making. You will have strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload and competing demands. You will also be skilled in using video content to communicate policy objectives and public affairs work.

This role is home-based. You will need to regular attend meetings/events in London and there will be some travel across the UK. AdviceUK have an office in London (Aldgate). There may be out of hours work for which TOIL is granted. There will be a £600 home working allowance.

As Global Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer, you will support PEAS country level MEL teams in fulfilling their learning objectives in relation to delivering our school improvement technical assistance programme to non-PEAS partner schools. The MEL Officer will be part of the Global Technical Team, and will contribute to the team’s primary objectives to boost the efficacy and impact of the organisation's initiatives across Uganda, Zambia, and Ghana.

We are looking for an individual with significant MEL experience, ideally in relation to education programmes in low resource settings of Uganda, Zambia, and/or Ghana. Experience in fulfilling institutional donor requirements is desirable, ideally to include USAID and/or FCDO. 

To be successful in this role you will have strong communication skills, demonstrating the ability to guide, motivate and support members of the wider global MEL team. You will be highly experienced in working with data, and have strong data analysis skills. You will be part of a hard-working, growing and highly effective team who support one another to achieve impact.
