Volunteers are at the heart of our work. Each year, they support over 70,000 young people to build confidence, develop skills and explore their futures through insight talks, workshops and events. 

We’re looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to grow and support our network across Wales. This is a new role, created as we invest in strengthening how we recruit, prepare and engage our volunteers, with the opportunity to shape how this work develops. 

In this role, you’ll build relationships with employers, public sector organisations and community groups to recruit volunteers from a wide range of industries. You’ll manage onboarding, support volunteers to feel confident and well-prepared to work with young people, and work closely with our Volunteer Manager and Programme Team to match volunteers to opportunities across Wales. 

You’ll play a key part in ensuring volunteers have a positive, high-quality experience – providing ongoing support, responding to feedback, and helping us continuously improve how we engage and retain our network. Alongside this, you’ll track activity, maintain accurate records, and contribute to understanding our reach and impact. 

We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and great with people, confident building relationships, managing multiple priorities and communicating clearly. You’ll bring experience of working with volunteers, or in a coordination or partnership-focused role, and have a genuine motivation to support young people to achieve their potential. And, we'd love someone who is confident communicating in the medium of Welsh.

The GAMH Research, Policy and Advocacy Officer is a new post that will play a central role in advancing GAMH’s global policy and advocacy agenda, helping to strengthen and elevate the focus on the health and wellbeing of men within national, regional and global policy environments. The postholder will design and deliver policy advocacy initiatives, generate high-quality research, write reports and publications, support project coordination, engage stakeholders and partners, and support communications to influence decision-makers aimed at improving health and wellbeing outcomes for men and boys within a gender equality framework. The position will work across all GAMH workstreams, with a particular focus on men’s health in Europe, prostate cancer and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination programmes.

This exciting new role will is being created at a time of organisational expansion and growing interest in men’s health worldwide. It will require attendance at meetings in London and the South East of England and occasional European/international travel will also be required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Policy Advocacy and Campaign Development

• Develop and contribute to GAMH’s policy positions and advocacy on key men’s health issues, with a particular focus on men’s health in Europe, prostate cancer and HPV.
• Monitor and analyse key policy developments relevant to men’s health and the work of GAMH across prevention, early diagnosis, screening, treatment, and support.
• Support the design and delivery of advocacy strategies and campaigns targeting policymakers, professional societies, international non-governmental organisations and other international bodies.
• Support coalition and network building by GAMH to strengthen policy responses on men’s health.
• Prepare policy briefings and advocacy materials.

2. Research, Analysis and Writing

• Conduct and synthesise research on men’s health issues, including policy analysis, epidemiology, and literature reviews.
• Write high-quality accessible reports, evidence summaries, position papers and publications to support GAMH’s work.
• Identify relevant gaps in policy data and evidence relating to men’s health. 

3. Project Coordination and support

• Manage the development of a European Men’s Health report.
• Play a leading role in, and support, the development of GAMH’s Global Prostate Cancer Initiative and wider work on prostate cancer policy.

• Assist in the planning and delivery of other GAMH projects, as necessary.
• Contribute to funding proposals and reporting to donors.

4. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships

• Support the strengthening of GAMH engagement with national men’s health networks and its members, particularly in Europe.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across each of the relevant GAMH workstreams, including policymakers, non-governmental organisations, UN agencies, academics and researchers, patient organisations, professional bodies, advocates and industry.
• Represent GAMH at meetings, conferences, and events (as required).
• Attend and report to the GAMH Board of Trustees (as required)

5. Communications, Dissemination and Impact

• Support the dissemination of GAMH reports, campaigns, and advocacy outputs.
• Support launch event/s of GAMH and initiatives and reports.
• Contribute to GAMH’s website, newsletters, and social media channels.
• Support monitoring and evaluation of GAMH advocacy and research activities.

Person Specification

Essential

• Degree (or equivalent experience) in health policy, public health, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience in policy advocacy, campaigns and research.
• Experience of research, analysing and synthesising complex information into clear evidence-based written outputs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English), with ability to adapt content for different audiences.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

About the role

As Crisis looks forward to the next decade, we have a clear vision of how homelessness can be prevented and ended in the UK. This will be achieved by securing the policy changes that will solve homelessness, by delivering services that end homelessness for people and places, and by building a community of people across Britain who are helping to end homelessness.

As Senior Partnerships and Practice Officer, you will support each of these areas. You will work alongside Crisis’ policy, communications, and campaigns teams in England, Scotland, and Wales, to further Crisis’ policy objectives and ambition through knowledge and practice examples.

You will support the development of Crisis’s own services across Skylight Centres informed by best practice identified internally and externally. This will include leading a Community of Practice within Crisis.

You will support communities across Britain that are helping to end homelessness, by building relationships with external organisations and supporting the development of tools and resources to enable them to end homelessness. For example, you will be directly involved in exciting projects like; developing a Built for Zero placed based approach in defined areas and supporting our charity partners such as Lloyds Banking Group on joint projects and to develop their approaches to preventing and ending homelessness too.

You’ll work alongside Crisis Homelessness Alliance signatories and other corporate partners supporting them to understand more about homelessness and how we can all play our part to prevent and end homelessness.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have great networking skills and be good at making relationships across a range of different sectors.

You’ll understand how local authorities and wider public bodies work and be able to build connections and rapport with individuals working there.  

You’ll understand housing and homelessness systems and the current legal frameworks that underpin them across the UK. You’ll be able to identify barriers and themes and know how services can be designed to make sure that those who need help can get it and how to listen to the voices of those who use it.

The Pepper Foundation is a local charity funding children’s hospice care at home, specialised play and family days for children living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The Community Fundraiser will be joining Pepper at an exciting time as we launch our new three-year fundraising strategy. Backed by committed investment and with full Board approval, we are delighted to be growing the charity to deliver sustainable income that directly supports local children and families with hospice care in the comfort of their own homes. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced relationship-builder to lead and grow community fundraising and challenge events activity, helping to raise vital income for The Pepper Foundation.

You will take ownership of a varied portfolio of community fundraising activity, building and developing relationships with volunteers, schools, clubs, local businesses and community groups, while also nurturing existing supporters and creating an excellent experience for everyone who engages with us. Key Responsibilities:

Financial

• Deliver or exceed agreed income targets across community and challenge event  fundraising activities.
• Manage agreed budgets for community fundraising activities and challenge events, monitoring income and expenditure and ensuring activity is delivered in line with agreed targets and plans.

You will be part of a newly formed Technology team of developers, testers, and product specialists, working closely with brilliant colleagues to improve processes, manage donor data, and deliver innovative solutions.

This role suits someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can support end users with technical issues and requests while managing multiple initiatives with ease.

Job description 

Job Purpose 

The hospital to home service works collaboratively with hospitals to support people when they are discharged from hospital to return home. As a Hospital to Home Outreach Worker, you will provide temporary, practical and emotional support to service users within their home and make sure they understand the care and local community services available to them.

The service is time limited, usually up to 4 or 6 weeks, to adjust and settle back in their homes. 

Key Tasks 

• Assess the needs of service user’s either in hospital before discharge, or in their homes, and understand what barriers and enablers there might be to moving home. 

• Aid the discharge process and improve patient experience through tasks such as:

• Key cutting

• Co-ordinating with colleagues for the setup of the home environment such as checking fridge for in-date food 

• Checking heating, electric and gas is functional prior to discharge 

• Allowing access to the property for cleaning/repairs and receiving equipment

• Provide and/or arrange the practical and emotional support needed to enable service users to return home and/or remain safely at home. 

• Be vigilant and make referrals/signpost for additional needs that our wider team, or partners can support. E.g. for benefit checks, energy advice, carers support, befriending.  

• Help maximise service user independence by adopting an enabling approach. 

• Develop a listening, caring and professional relationship with the service user and their families/carers. 

• Provide domestic practical support within the home such as:

• Light cleaning,

• Washing (e.g. bedding),

• Changing bed sheets etc. 

• Prepare and service drinks and simple meals with or for the service user ensuring nutritional needs are met. 

• Accompany service user outside the home e.g. hospital/GP appointments etc. 

• Support service users with other tasks e.g. making telephone calls on their behalf, reading and responding to correspondence, completing simple forms (training will be provided) as directed by the service user’s etc. 

• Ensure services provided by AUKEL in the community are safe and person centred. 

• Report safeguarding concerns, in accordance with AUKEL safeguarding procedures. 

• Provide cover in the case of sickness and annual leave periods of colleagues. 

• Support service user reviews, ensuring all visiting information is uploaded on to Salesforce. 

• Support volunteers in the team and provide support and guidance to their development. 

• Work with a range of professionals including: 

• Supporting health and social care professionals with patient discharge 

• Liaising with the hospital health and social care professionals (e.g. Social Workers) to facilitate smooth supported discharge. 

• Handypeople & contractors.

Administration  

• Input all records, reviews, and visiting information to service user’s case notes in a timely manner to maintain up-to-date and accurate records on Salesforce.

• Report all “no access” failed visits, or changes in service user’s condition or circumstances in accordance with AUKEL’s policies and procedures. 

• Ensure service user comment sheets are completed.

• Ensure service user’s feedback questionnaires are sent at the end of each intervention and record returns. 

• Submit travel expenses regularly for sign off by manager. 

Quality  

• Be familiar with and to implement AUKEL policies and procedures in line with our Values. 

• Ensure the service is delivered in accordance line with Care Quality Commission principals. 

• Ensure integration with other AUKEL projects, and service users are referred and/or sign-posted to appropriate support services available to them.

• Respond to safeguarding or other concerns and make appropriate reports and management action.

Liaison  

• Work in collaboration with other agencies providing support within the service user’s home. 

• Work under the direction of the service manager and project officer/s. 

• Represent AUKEL and participate in appropriate external meetings and events to remain aware of local, regional, and national issues affecting quality and compliance issues affecting care and home support services. 

 General 

• Meet regularly with your line manager for support, supervision, and appraisal. 

• Attend team and staff meetings, and other meetings as required. 

• Undertake any other duties within the competence of the post holder as may be required from time to time for the continued smooth running of AUKEL. 

• Complete any training which is required to fulfil the role.

The Patient Support Service provides practical, emotional and financial support for anyone affected by chronic kidney disease. About the Role

Our regional Patient Support Officers play a key role in establishing Kidney Care UK in their designated region and enabling patients, their families, carers and professionals to access independant support on social, financial, health advocacy and wellbeing.

You will proactively engage with kidney patients and their families as a source of advice,information, and support to improve care and wellbeing outcomes for kidney patients. You will seek to inform and empower individuals, providing the tools and knowledge to enable confident self-management and be the regional face of Kidney Care UK patient support services, raise awareness of the service and the Charity and build strong relationships with kidney patients, the renal units, Kidney Patient Associations (KPAs), health professionals and other kidney stakeholder groups in the region. 

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Patient Support Service across the region and the effective management of a caseload. This involves regular attendance at renal clinics in the region, building relationships with health and care professionals and being available for patients in the renal unit, on the phone or online, or to meet at a mutually convenient public location.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Liaise with and support patients and their carers face to face and by telephone to provide information, advice and support on a range of personal, emotional and practical matters.
• Through regular visits to renal units in your designated area, establish and maintain a presence to enable patients' easy access to Kidney Care UK support services.
• Promote and attend local health information events to raise awareness of Kidney Care UK and the benefits of its Patient Support Service with kidney patients, their families and relevant health professionals. 
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with the regional kidney community through fully engaging with KPAs, health professionals and relevant health and community stakeholder groups.
• Maintain accurate records to allow effective reporting on key performance indicators such as number of patients supported, type of support provided, key needs etc.

About you

You will have an empathy with our patient group and an understanding of kidney disease and the needs of people with kidney disease, their families and carers. You will be able to work independantly and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and above all have the ability to deal professionally, calmly and sympathetically with people affected by kidney disease.

An understanding of the relevant UK benefits legislation and entitlements is essential as is having excellent IT skills, including Word, Powerpoint and Excel. You will hold an Advice and Guidance qualification or be willing to complete it within 6 months of service in the role.

The role is home based but you will need to live within the region that you are applying for and have the ability to travel independantly throughout the area on a regular basis and to attend national meetings/events as required. There will also be a requirement to undertake occasional evening and weekend work and some flexibility to be able to work some irregular hours to meet the needs of our patients.

The areas are as follows:

North East: Newcastle Upon Tyne, Sunderland and North Cumbria. This role is part funded by the North Gas Network through the vulnerability and carbon monoxide allowance fund.

South West: Cornwall, Devon, Exeter and Plymouth. This role is funded by Wales and West Utilities through the vulnerability and carbon monoxide allowance fund.

The Role

We are looking for a Class 2 HGV Driver to make daily collections from our food partners in the Midlands region and deliver to warehouses across the West and East Midlands. This role is most suited to individuals with an aptitude for driving, who have excellent customer service skills combined with a professional attitude, as you will be dealing directly with our customers as a representative of FareShare Midlands.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work with the Supply Chain Team to collect surplus food from partners and deliver to the right regional centre.

• Provide excellent customer service to food partners in person and by phone, offering a highly professional impression of the charity in a friendly manner.
• Adhere to all laws, Road Transport Regulations and HGV Working Time directives.
• Support the Supply Chain Team by collecting stock offered from the food industry and delivering it to Regional Centres in a timely fashion, communicating ETAs and delays.
• Maintain records of collections and allocations e.g. provide paperwork and temperature readings to the Regional Centres on delivery.
• Identify any barriers or opportunities and feedback any developments or challenges e.g. delays, maintenance concerns, instruction errors, etc.
• Ensure deliveries follow the assigned order, the routes are planned appropriately in the given timescale and all delivery windows are met safely.
• Highlight and respond quickly to any anticipated delays or difficulties, using problem solving skills to mitigate any unforeseen circumstances e.g. taking breaks while queueing or changing the order of collections subject to permission from the Supply Chain Team.
• Ensure the quality of the product delivered is accurate against notes, making detailed visual inspections and flagging any concerns or discrepancies before the vehicle is loaded.
• Strengthen existing relationships by providing a reliable and friendly service.
• Adhere to all health and safety and operational requirements at all times.
