Summary of role responsibilities

EIA protects our planet by investigating and campaigning against environmental crime and abuse. Their focus is to protect wildlife, forests, oceans, and climate.

Through undercover work, research, and documentation, the EIA exposes criminal activities and works to bring those responsible to justice.

The Philanthropy Manager will lead on the development and delivery of a new philanthropy programme, which will include developing tailored stewardship programmes for HNWIs, expanding the donor base through effective prospecting and cultivation, working with campaign teams to develop donor funding propositions and embedding effective systems to process and support growth in philanthropy.

As Philanthropy Manager, you will: 

• Develop a tailored stewardship programme for 5 and 6-figure level donors
• Work with campaign teams and the wider fundraising team to develop funding propositions for HNWI and a Case for Support for the different areas of EIA’s work
• Work with the support of the Head of Fundraising, embed effective systems and processes to support the growth in philanthropy
• Conduct regular prospecting and cultivation to identify new potential supporters

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Significant experience of identifying and cultivating relationships with high value supporters and securing significant gifts
• Considerable experience of developing and communicating high value funding propositions and writing compelling cases for support and applications
• Strong verbal communication skills, confident in communicating effectively and passionately with supporters, team members across EIA and senior stakeholders
• Commitment to the EIA values, work and support of wildlife trade and environmental issues

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an opportunity for a dedicated person centred Deputy Manager to join the team in Brent. You will be responsible for working alongside the Service Manager (SM) to deliver high quality, trauma-informed services to residents and participants, with a focus on recovery reablement, rehabilitation, and ensuring a psychologically informed environment (PIE). You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service quality, performance, and improvement across their service(s) through excellent leadership and embodiment of Social Interest Group’s values.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Sunday, varying hours (Early Shift: 8am - 4pm, Late Shift: 10am - 6pm). You may also need to support outside these hours as the service requires.

ABOUT THE SERVICE

Synergy, Brent is a Housing Related Support (HRS) Service for a range of vulnerable people who have been or are at risk of homelessness. The age eligibility criteria for the service is adults between the ages of 18 to 60, who are identified to have low/medium support needs. Some of the needs we support are:

• Single homeless between ages of 18 to 60
• Socially excluded individuals
• Ex-Offenders
• People with substance misuse
• Mental Health (Low)
• Learning disability (Low/Medium)
• Women who have come from domestic abuse environments and situations who may need low level support as part of their resettlement following a move on from a refuge or other safe domestic abuse supported accommodation.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

LINE MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP

• Provide leadership to employees throughout the employee life cycle. SERVICE DELIVERY

• Support the Service Manager with the day-to-day operational delivery of the service and work directly with colleagues, residents, participants, and other stakeholders to provide a high-quality, holistic service which meets the presenting needs of all relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
• Support the Service Manager to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.
• In conjunction with the Service Manager, facilitate a program of continuous improvement in an environment where residents and participants are cared for, supported, and have access to resources they need to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
• Empower residents and participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.

RISK MANAGEMENT, INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND CASE RECORDING

• Follow the relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share any relevant information with partner agencies as appropriate.
• Ensure all case recording, and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring electronic records are protected in line with GDPR, and kept up to date and written to a high standard.
• Alongside the Service Manager, champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.

PROPERTY AND HOUSING MANAGEMENT

• Create and manage a welcoming, psychologically informed home environment for residents and participants, ensuring a continuous focus on safety, health, and wellbeing.
• Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is maintained to a high standard, in line with SIG’s property standards and meets all legal and statutory health and fire safety requirements to operate safely, effectively, and efficiently.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

• Provide support in setting the service’s budget and reviewing monthly management accounts; manage set budgets effectively and ensure resources are maximized.
• Maintain financial management within the service, including but not limited to, invoice management, arrears management, management of petty cash, and expense claims.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contract Management and Internal Auditing; Ensure due diligence is carried out and records are well maintained.
• Administration duties will vary, including operating online systems and ensuring correct processes are followed alongside GDPR and confidentiality.
• Other duties may include but are not limited to, maintaining clean and tidy environments, removing rubbish, ordering supplies, arranging in house events and activities and other general on-site duties.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software
• Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with mental health issues, addiction, exploitation, homelessness and within the criminal justice system
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Ability to follow organisational policies and process in line with external governance

What we would like, but not essential:

• Previous experience in people management and development
• Understanding, knowledge, and/or practical application of key legislation – Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Mental Health, Criminal Justice, Social Care, and Housing, and Health, Safety and Environment

About the role
As the Account Manager you will contribute to and effectively support our global programme partnerships work, to achieve Save the Children's strategic objectives.

The focus of the role will include extending Save the Children's relationships with development banks plus new initiatives such as impact investment and results-based project funding. Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy and numeracy levels amongst people in prison?

Our three-year strategy is working well with improvements and expansions to our delivery model, a renewed vision and mission and we want to continue to develop and grow. To support this, we are recruiting for a new programme manager to grow our programmes and contracts in our South-Central Region. This area covers prisons HMP Winchester, HMP Bullingdon, HMP Grendon, HMP Springhill, HMP Aylesbury, HMP Huntercombe, HMP Woodhill, HMP Isle of Wight and HMP Gurnsey. We are seeking proactive, committed, and enthusiastic applicants to join our team and help us continue our journey.

Working closely with people in prison, prison managers, Shannon Trust staff and volunteers you will ensure development of our criminal programmes maximising literacy and numeracy learning opportunities for people across a number of prisons and contracts in your area. 

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings, managing teams and contract performance, underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. We want to hear from applicants who can lead, drive performance and who are as committed to the cause as we are.

This is a home-based role which requires regular weekly travel across the South Central area to prisons and meetings (anticipated number of travel days are 2 days per week).

We are looking for a standout relationship manager to join our fantastic team of fundraisers who work tirelessly to raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer. A great personality and team ethic are really important in this role as you will maximise income for Young Live vs Cancer by coaching our supporters to reach their goals, whilst seeking out new fundraising opportunities for your geographical area. This role sits within the ‘Supporter Experience’ team and we need someone with natural customer service skills who wants to deliver a legendary experience to all of their supporters. Your team of supporters will range from volunteers and individuals, to groups and local corporates.

The South & West of Scotland is an area filled with some of our most committed supporters but there is still so much opportunity to grow corporate support across the counties. Our Social Workers support families across the region and our Home from Home 'Marion's House' in Glasgow enables families to stay close to their loved one for free during treatment, so building relationships with these teams are a must.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. The Services Manager will be the key operational lead for the Alliance, and oversee successful delivery of housing casework services to young people fleeing violence and exploitation who are referred in. You should have experience of working in services that support young people fleeing violence or who are impacted by the criminal justice system, and have a solid understanding of housing options for young people under 25. You should be exceptionally well organised and have excellent partnership management skills.

As the Fundraising Partnerships Manager you will be responsible for delivering and managing strategic partnerships between corporate partners and the Harlequins Foundation, building strong relationships with a focus on maximising income and raising awareness of the Foundation’s purpose.

The Harlequins Foundation is the charitable arm of the Club, delivering programmes in our communities that primarily support young people to develop the Essential Skills, enabling success on and off the pitch.

This is an incredible opportunity for a corporate fundraising professional with an excellent grasp of working across all aspects of partnership management to make a difference with our impactful organisation. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement and within a small Fundraising team, your focus will be on identifying and securing long-term, strategic partnerships with a variety of organisations as well as building on and maintaining those already in place.

You will develop key relationships within the Foundation and Club’s network of supporters and partners to manage a portfolio of different partnerships, securing donations, sponsorship, volunteers, communication opportunities and fundraising as relevant to each corporate relationship.

This role will have huge variety, requiring strong communication skills with both internal and external audiences, great organisational skills and experience of account management, ideally within the charity sector. You will also possess excellent networking, influencing, budget management and presentation skills. Some weekend and evening working will be required as part of the role.

• Support the development and delivery of a varied portfolio of partnership activities to meet agreed objectives, all of which reflect the spirit of the Harlequins Foundation

Qualifications and experience

• Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional environment dealing with external partners
• Proven ability to build relationships with a focus on fundraising
• Experience of generating income through partnerships, with an ability to innovate and maximise fundraising from corporate opportunities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to confidently present to stakeholders in person or online

This is a maternity cover contract so the successful candidate will need to get up to speed quickly, taking over responsibility for delivering the new Major Donor fundraising plan. The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing high level relationships and a track record of securing high value (5 and 6 figure) donations or new business. You will have outstanding interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator and able to build trusted relationships swiftly.  As this is still a new role, in a relatively young charity, your ideas will help shape this work and you will play a crucial part in driving the growth and sustainability of our fundraising in the UK.

You might have existing experience working with high-value donors, however we also welcome applications from candidates who have transferable experience from other areas - for example a sales or account management background.

• Proactively research, identify, and cultivate a list of new potential donors (high-net-worth individuals), building a pipeline of people to approach for support.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements

Rainforest Trust UK staff work remotely and you will be expected to work primarily from home with an excellent internet connection. You may be based anywhere in the UK but you will be expected to work from a shared team space in London once a month, and your donor meetings/events are most likely to take place there.

The postholder will be required to host networking events and attend some online meetings with our partners in the U.S so some (early) evening working is required. We are also flexible as to how many hours this postholder works, and will consider a 3-5 day per week arrangement, depending on experience.

The purpose of the role

The Corporate Partnerships Manager is responsible for delivering, renewing and evolving new and existing high-value, long-term corporate partnerships. They will work with the Senior Corporate Account Manager to support the team in delivering best-in-class account management. • Proven track record of securing income and managing partnerships/sponsorships, possibly gained within a target driven environment.

• Experience of negotiating bespoke partnership deals and benefit packages and composing commercial participator agreements or similar legal contracts.

We're looking for an IT Project Manager to join our Data and IT team. The IT Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation and tracking of assigned IT projects within the charity. You'll be responsible for managing the project team, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and meet quality standards. You'll serve as a liaison between various stakeholders, including clients, internal teams and vendors, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. You'll also identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.

Our partner, an international charity, seeks an interim finance manager to support the international finance team. The successful candidate will be an all-rounder, with experience in preparing consolidated annual accounts, management accounts, whilst being hands on and taking on transactional elements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Day to day accounting and administration, including posting transactions; payment of suppliers and staff expenses; international bank transfers to overseas country offices; setting up and processing regular giving payments, and processing one off donations; banking; and process monthly payroll.
• Undertake reconciliations of bank and balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, including BVA analysis and summaries, and income and expenditure reports for budget holders.
• Prepare the annual consolidated accounts and financial statements, and support in the preparation of the annual audit, liaising with the overseas country offices.

Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant with all-round experience working in a small team within an international charity. Experience of leading on the production of annual consolidated accounts as per charity SORP in the UK, management accounts & analysis, and managing day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks.
• Hands on, able to manage a varied workload.
• Strong business partnering skills, able to work with finance and non-finance staff in the UK and overseas offices, budget holders and liaise with third parties, including banks and auditors.
• Strong communication skills.

This is a part-time role (3-4 days/week), that can be done either remotely or hybrid, coming into the office 1 day/week. All candidates (even remote) must be based in the UK and have the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship. This is a 6 month parental leave cover. An immediate start is preferred.
