The Research and Impact Lead role brings scope for dynamic collaboration across the organization, and creativity in applying research and evaluation expertise to a range of opportunities. The Research and Impact Lead will shape, drive and deliver a range of learning activities. They will be a voice for evidence-based decision making within BookTrust, ensuring that we put the needs of children, families, and our delivery partners at the heart of our work.

In this role we are looking for an experienced mixed methods researcher to oversee our MEL approach, develop and deliver new learning and funding partnerships and contribute to our portfolio of cross departmental learning activities – working to deliver research activities or supporting our team of in-house researchers through providing steer and quality assurance.

We exist to fund research into beating blood cancer. In the past 60 years, we’ve invested more than £500 million into blood cancer research which has led to improved treatments and saved lives. Everything we do in the next five years will be based on a single aim – to stop people dying of blood cancer or the side effects of its treatments. We want to put people affected by blood cancer at the centre of everything we do. 

As Research Involvement Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading a programme of patient and public involvement in research, a core component of our charity wide involvement strategy. 

This role will ensure that our research strategy and funding programme is shaped by the priorities and needs of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll review and refine our processes to ensure they are in line with sector best practice and that they meet the needs of our community of people affected by blood cancer. You’ll further embed effective and meaningful involvement at all stages of the research cycle at Blood Cancer UK. 

You’ll also work to support the involvement of people affected by blood cancer in external research and strategic projects across the UK. You will ensure that the research we and others fund is patient focussed and has the potential to accelerate progress and deliver the maximum impact for the communities we support.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to be at the front line of human rights research and advocacy, working for a specialist organisation with a long track record in promoting the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB).

You will undertake research, investigations, monitoring, report-writing and advocacy on freedom of religion and human rights in Myanmar/Burma and Indonesia.

Key responsibilities (full responsibilities listed in the application pack):

• To plan, organise and undertake research, monitoring and reporting on freedom of religion or belief and related human rights issues in Myanmar/Burma and Indonesia , through regular fact-finding assignments, when and where security conditions allow, meetings with key stakeholders and the development of reliable in-country and external partnerships and collaboration.

• To organise, as appropriate, advocacy visits for delegations from or in relation to the agreed countries.

 Role summary

The Project Development Officer (PDO) will work within the Inter Mediate Projects Team under the guidance of the Projects Directors and coordination with the Deputy CEO, Operations Team and CEO, to:

• Support and implement Inter Mediate’s existing projects portfolio supporting peace talks and other high-level peace initiatives.
• Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders in conflict and peace processes, mainly in Africa and the Middle East
• Identify and develop entry points for new projects.
• Monitor and analyse political developments across areas relevant to Inter Mediate’s work.
• Research lessons from past peace efforts relevant to Inter Mediate’s current work.
• Support the Operations Team and Project Directors to prepare project proposals and budgets, narrative and financial reporting, and collect evidence of project impact.

Specific responsibilities:

•  Contribute to strategies to deliver Inter Mediate projects and institutional priorities.
• Support the Project Directors to cultivate and maintain relationships with key interlocutors and relevant experts in the field.
• Undertake travel, including to conflict settings.
• Draft high quality policy memos, speeches and concept notes for senior audiences.

Experience, qualifications and skills:

 Successful candidates would need to demonstrate:

• A masters degree in politics, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, international affairs, public policy or an equivalent subject. Relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu.
• Three years of work experience in conflict resolution or peace process support for a governmental, non-governmental or inter-governmental organisation, or an equivalent field such as diplomacy, humanitarian access, political risk advisory services, conflict journalism or conflict analysis. Experience relevant to West Africa and Middle East preferred.
• Excellent written English, and evidence of ability to produce high-quality written work to deadline.
• A strong understanding of political and conflict dynamics – particularly Africa and the Middle East - and the ability to produce well-structured and concise analysis
• Ability to operate successfully in high pressure, sensitive political environments and support high-level individuals
• Experience of work and travel in conflict-affected areas, and willingness to travel independently, with support from the Project Directors.
• Evidence of strong cross-cultural interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to support the smooth running of a small team, and willingness to take an “all hands on deck” approach when required.

ShareAction is recruiting for a Senior Research Officer (SRO) to join the LIPH Programme and help support the delivery of our broad portfolio of work. The focus will primarily be on our consumer health campaign (LIPH’s most developed campaign focused on driving more responsible practice in the food industry) but will also support other workstreams, including community health (a newer campaign focused on improving air quality) and driving up investor standards on health. JOB PURPOSE

As part of the Brand and Marketing team, the Social Media Officer will lead on social media strategy for the organization, working closely with teams across Magic Breakfast to develop and diversify our presence on social media. Through innovative, compelling content creation the Social Media Officer will raise awareness of our work and the Magic Breakfast brand. The role's aims are to reach and engage new audiences and to strengthen brand advocacy with exisiting target audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop Magic Breakfast social media channels to grow an engaging environment for people with lived experience of childhood morning hunger and our wider supporter network.
• Develop and deliver effective strategies that optimise and grow our social media channels.
• Liase with both Magic Breakfast and corporate partners' design, PR and social media agencies to deliver effective and timely campaigns
• Monitor, improve (through testing and optimisation) and report on the performance and effectiveness of social media content and campaigns
• Write impactful and engaging social posts, sourcing approprtiate imagery and developing video content in collaboration with the Multimedia Producer.

Based in Vauxhall, London or Reading with hybrid working arrangements in place to accommodate both office and home working

Flexible working arrangements available within Monday to Friday,10am to 5pm.  Occasional evening and weekend working may be required. 

Salary in the range £12,373 to £15,122 per annum (£24,745 to £30,243 full time equivalent)

£1,650 per annum (£3,299 full time equivalent) location allowance payable if London based
