What you will be achieving

As People Assistant, you will be supporting an established People and Culture (P&C) team to deliver an efficient and accurate P&C administration service across the Academy, ensuring that all P&C records are maintained properly. You will have some admin experience, which could be easily transferred to working in a P&C team. There will be opportunities to grow and develop in the role and get involved in wider cross-team working projects.

The People and Culture function forms part of the Directorate team. The team includes the Head of People and Culture, two People Business Partners and two People Assistants (including this role).

The wider Directorate team is responsible for supporting big annual Corporate Events. The team also supports and provides administrative support to the Chief Executive (CEO), President, Officers and Senior Leadership Team.

What you will be doing

• Supporting the People Business Partners in managing the recruitment activity. Recording diversity information after each recruitment round, ensuring it is available for annual analysis.
• Managing the new starter admin process, including conducting reference checks, induction meetings, and ensuring line managers follow the induction and probationary procedures.
• Undertaking P&C administration, including updating the HR employee database (Cezanne), P&C spreadsheets, preparing correspondence, and responding to external reference requests.
• Maintaining and updating information on the staff organogram and number of permanent/fixed-term posts on a monthly basis.
• Supporting the People Business Partner to prepare payroll administration and paperwork.
• Monitoring the sick leave and annual leave processes - escalating any potential issues to the People Business Partners and Head, as appropriate.
• Supporting the People Business Partners with any training administration, booking paperwork, and supporting training day coordination.
• Being the super user of the HR system.
• Updating any changes in the system, as and when needed.
• Supporting Academy away days.
• Supporting the People Business Partners in systems development work, as necessary.

What you’ll bring to the role

What you’ll do

As Events Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the team to make sure all our events are delivered to the highest standard. You’ll be working closely alongside our Head of Events and Events Leads as part of our growing Marketing team to make sure all our events help students to make informed decisions about their next steps. 

In-person events:

• Work alongside the Event Lead, the main point of contact for Unifrog’s in-person conferences and events, to support the planning and delivery of these events and make sure they’re a success.

• Play a key role on the day - lead on the set up and pack down of events and be an expert on the event logistics, on hand to support attendees, the Event Lead, and the rest of the Unifrog team.

• Manage the registration desk and welcome attendees as they arrive, giving them a fantastic first impression of the event and helping them with any questions they may have. 

• Support with research and planning future events, including conducting initial site visits.

• Support with writing and sending conversion and follow-up emails for events.

• Draw on your own experiences to make sure that all our events are relevant and provide value to our different audiences.

Virtual events:

• Work alongside the Event Lead, the main point of contact for Unifrog’s webinar series and university fairs, to support the planning and delivery of these events.

• Ensure the smooth running of our university fairs. Become an expert user of the iVent platform – send reminders of session start times, spark conversations on the chat function, and solve any technical issues.

• Act as a host for some of our events – run live sessions, field questions from participants, and facilitate discussions between our expert panelists.

External conferences:

• Provide ad hoc support with the logistics of our conference equipment and make sure equipment and materials are delivered to external conferences and returned to the office in time.

Other responsibilities:

• Support with our events inbox to make sure all emails are responded to in a friendly and professional manner within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). 

• Develop an in-depth understanding of our different audiences. 

• Support the wider Marketing and Events team with ad-hoc requests.

Bipolar is a severe mental health condition, characterised by extreme mood changes that range from manic highs to suicidal lows, affecting 2% of the UK population, and we are seeking a candidate who can work as part of our developing engagement in research, alongside our dedicated team of staff and volunteers in realising our ambition of making a far reaching and meaningful difference to the everyday lives of those impacted by Bipolar.

The Postdoctoral Research Manager will assist the Director of Research in running Bipolar UK’s Research Division:

• working with the charity and its multiple partner projects and collaborators to deliver on our current research commitments
• to develop the long-term sustainability of the Bipolar UK Research Division

This is an exciting role which will combine overseeing and managing existing and prospective research partnerships with research teams around the country and world, and taking part in the development of Bipolar UK-led research.

Current research partners include teams at UCL, Oxford, Cardiff and the GW4 Alliance, Swansea, King’s College London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Lancaster, Liverpool, together with international organisations such as The Global Bipolar Cohort and the International Society for Bipolar Disorders. Bipolar UK is very much a user-driven organisation. Job Description

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Senior Research Manager to manage the monitoring, evaluation and learning activities of a high profile National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) portfolio of translational, clinical and applied health research infrastructure funding schemes. 

Job Purpose 
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the post holder will work closely with the rest of the infrastructure team (especially the Programme Leads and Senior Research Managers who are responsible for the development and management of the infrastructure schemes), and with Data Analytics colleagues (who are responsible for designing systems for capturing, cleaning and presenting data), to manage the infrastructure reporting and evaluation activities. At an award level, you will develop, improve and maintain monitoring and reporting processes, and at a scheme level, you will implement monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches, including overseeing the delivery and/or commissioning of impact evaluations. You will support a wider programme around visibility and the strategic use of data within infrastructure, considering links to policy directives around Busting Bureaucracy, the developing NIHR digital strategy and system operability issues with NHS and University systems. 

You will be adept at dealing with an array of data sources (metrics, narrative and financial reporting information), have a good understanding of research impact, an understanding of the routes to achieving it, and how to apply monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches to generate insight that can evidence impact and support continuous improvement of scheme funding and support processes. You will have experience of managing complex projects, knowledge of the UK’s research environment and political agenda, and honed skills in stakeholder management. You will be a strategic thinker, capable of seeing the issues and solutions from a number of different stakeholder perspectives to see the bigger picture. You will be comfortable dealing with complexity and developing an approach to balance the needs of different stakeholders. You will be a team player, able to work in close partnership with a number of teams at NIHR and the DHSC.

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage elements of the infrastructure monitoring processes: you will manage parts of the infrastructure reporting process both internally at the technical systems level and externally with users to support training and propose improvements. You will work with others to develop new reporting processes (for new awards), maintain existing annual and quarterly reporting, support the review of submitted reports by the team and the production of feedback, and drive process improvements through a continuous improvement cycle.

• Development of reporting outputs: support quantitative and qualitative data interrogation in projects across the infrastructure. Interrogating data to support strategic reviews, and, where feasible and appropriate, designing visual dashboards of progress using data collected and collated for reporting purposes. Also draw on award level reported data to feed into strategic scheme level evaluations and reviews, to produce impact case studies, and to feed into organisational level learning and reporting. This work will help articulate the contribution of the NIHR infrastructure to the wider health and social care system as well as feeding into broader NIHR initiatives such as the NIHR Impact Programme.

• Scheme reviews: support the delivery of scheme mid-term reviews and evaluations, working closely with the infrastructure team’s Senior Research Managers responsible for specific schemes and the central Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning team to design and plan an appropriate review process for individual schemes.

• Stakeholder engagement: through appropriate stakeholder engagement, developing a sound understanding of data needs, minimising additional requirements of key stakeholders and understanding the types of reporting outputs/feedback that would provide the greatest utility for accountability and learning purposes. Proactively share key learnings across the infrastructure team and with wider stakeholder groups as appropriate.

• Flexible support to the team:  flexible approach to work tasks with ability to ‘muck in’ and provide support on additional tasks across the team during busy times.

Line Management:

• The post holder will be responsible for the line management of one Research Manager and will matrix manage other team members, where appropriate.

Qualifications

Experience and Technical Skills

Required Criteria: 

• A PhD degree in biomedical or health sciences research (or significant equivalent sector experience)
• Experience of implementation or management of monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches including impact assessment and reporting, ideally within health and care research
• Data collection, collation and analysis skills using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
• Current knowledge of the UK’s health and care research and policy landscape
• Strategic thinker able to interpret complex information while having a clear view of the “big picture”
• Solutions orientated with evidence of delivering projects, requiring evidence synthesis, report writing and developing implementable recommendations

Desirable Criteria:

• Specialist training/knowledge in monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches and methods
• Experience of authoring high quality impact reports and case study reports for a variety of technical and general audiences
• Experience of developing electronic dashboards using visualisation tools such as Qlik Sense, Looker Studio or equivalents
• Line management and staff development experience

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our finance team at a time as we implement our new strategy over the next 5 years. Working closely with teams in the corporate service directorate, you’ll be responsible for the provision of financial analysis, support as well as preparing and processing the month end journals and completing balance sheet reconciliations.

About you

You’ll be a part-qualified accountant who is pro-active and able to communicate effectively with staff and managers from non-financial disciplines. You’ll also have the ability to discuss financial performance with budget holders, deliver improvements to financial reporting and works well within a team and independently.

A proven Administrator, having supported at a senior level previously, you’ll have experience of coordinating activities with teams and provide administrative support for individual and group meetings. 

You’ll have excellent time-management skills and will be highly organised, able to work well under pressure and effectively towards deadlines.

• Be IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft packages
• Be familiar with facilities and travel booking systems

Working arrangements

Please note this is a fixed term contract for 20 months, covering an internal secondment.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

The position

The Royal Geographical Society (with The Institute of British Geographers) is seeking an Administrative assistant within the Director’s Office. This is an exciting opportunity to work across core areas of the Society and support key projects. Duties and responsibilities

• Assisting in administration of events that bring senior media and cultural (museums; theatres) decision makers together with sustainability specialists through the course of the year
• Working with the Programmes team to deliver this a high profile new photography festival each July
• Backing the Explore team’s delivery of events and materials including the annual November expeditions and fieldwork festival and the development of the linked Handbook and wider events programme across the year.
• Supporting the Education team in running competitions and linked events
• Participating in membership renewal processing during the busiest period in January/February
• Contributing to the delivery of the Medals and Awards Ceremony and AGM and Reception
• Aiding the Collections team in its progressive re-organisation of stores around the building

The Royal School of Needlework (RSN) is seeking a highly motivated and organised Fundraising Assistant to join our team and provide administrative support for our fundraising activities. The Fundraising Assistant will play a key role in generating vital income and helping the organisation achieve its fundraising goals by assisting with donor relations, event planning, grant research, data management, and campaign coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Support and Stewardship:

• Become a ‘super’ user of the CRM/database.
• Maintain donor records in the CRM/database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
• Help with the acknowledgment process, including sending thank-you letters and recognition communications to donors.
• Assist in coordinating donor communications and outreach campaigns (e.g., newsletters, appeals, and stewardship materials).

Event Support:
