Job Purpose
Our Business Development Manager is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on creating and improving relationships, expanding a product portfolio, and working across an organisation to drive impact. This role has a wide remit which covers our existing products as well as identifying new income streams.
You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a business development plan that maximises income streams, supports improvements in patient care, and strengthens our partnerships across the healthcare system. You’ll support tenders and contract negotiations, fostering relationships that secure funding for key BSR initiatives whilst offering tailored customer service and account management to our partners.
You’ll manage a business development administrator, who will focus on delivering contractual obligations in a timely manner. You’ll coach and develop them to build confidence in account management and sales. This role requires a creative, impact-oriented leader who excels in both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
Please note: This role may require travel, overnight stays and weekend work, for example at our conferences.
Main Responsibilties
Business Development Strategy
- Alongside the COO, develop and execute a business development strategy for BSR that secures financially sustainable funding streams that support our drive to improve patient care
- Lead on market research, product development and product lifecycle management
- Support the Senior Management Team and Heads of Department to expand and improve our product portfolios to keep partners engaged in supporting our diverse membership
Relationship building and management
- Lead relationship management with sponsors, partners and collaborators to provide exceptional and consistent account management
- Liaise with and support internal teams with delivery to sponsors, partners and collaborators
- Enable internal sharing of insight and intelligence about trends and movements with industry partners
- Foster new strategic partnerships and relationships with UK and international organisations
- Open up new funding opportunities that support BSR’s strategic aims and activities
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and develop the Business Development Executive
- Support teams across the business to meet ambitious financial targets
- With the COO and Director of Marketing, Education and Events, manage our compliance with the ABPI pharmaceutical industry code and provide regular advice/training for colleagues
- Alongside the COO, provide support to colleagues on tender and contract processes
Finances and Impact
- Oversee BSR income streams, working closely with the finance team to ensure efficient financial process and cash flow
- Manage the sales pipeline, ensuring financial trackers are up to date
- Analyse data to ensure the business development strategy is effective, ambitious and realistic

Role Description
The Fundraising Manager plays a key role in supporting the mission and ministry of St Edmundsbury Cathedral by leading and delivering a range of fundraising activities. This includes managing relationships with Patrons and donors, organising high-profile events such as the Patrons’ Carol Service and The Grand Nave Dinner, coordinating legacy giving, and supportingmajor initiatives such as the Abbey of St Edmund, Reborn project. The role also involves maintaining accurate donorrecords using the Cathedral’s CRM system (Donorfy), identifying new funding opportunities, and ensuring all fundraising iscarried out with professionalism, integrity, and in accordance with Cathedral values and data protection regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Patrons
- Manage relationships with existing Patrons by responding to enquiries, writing and distributing the quarterly Patron e-newsletter, and creating and sending invitations to Patron events.
- Organise, coordinate, and deliver Patron events to a high standard, including the Patrons’ Carol Service, Spring Trip,and Summer Garden Party.
- Track Patron membership status, monitor renewal dates, and send timely renewal reminders.

Legacy and Appeals
- Support the delivery of the legacy giving strategy, helping to secure gifts in wills.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a UKCRC-registered Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) that is designing and delivering cutting-edge clinical trials employing frequentist and Bayesian methods in adaptive and platform trial designs. They are looking for a Principal Statistician to provide statistical expertise in Bayesian trial design and analysis to support the delivery of our portfolio of critical care research, including the recently funded PIVOTAL platform trial in paediatric intensive care, and to lead the design of future Bayesian trials. You'll ensure that donations recorded in our CRM system match the funds received, resolving discrepancies and supporting our income processes to run efficiently. Working closely with our Customer Services and Fundraising teams you’ll be at the heart of making sure our financial data is accurate and robust.
You’ll also assist with preparing and checking Gift Aid claims, helping us claim back vital extra funds at no additional cost to our supporters. Your detail driven approach will help us continue to build a strong and transparent foundation for everything we do.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a good understanding of financial accounting principles, strong Excel and IT skills, and a collaborative problem-solving approach. About the Role
The main responsibilities for this role are to maintain and improve Salesforce for the delivery and monitoring of activities, including delivery of the programme, volunteer recruitment, and partnerships management.
The system is optimised to serve the specific needs of the organisation and is intensively used by frontline staff and management on a daily basis. The organisation has an ongoing service agreement with ImpactBox, a Salesforce development company, for more significant development work. We are looking for someone with excellent project management skills and experience of:
· Analysing data in Excel and translating it into useful information for different audiences.
· Implementing, configuring, or administering solutions for Salesforce.

Advocacy Support (10%)
- Develop and prepare advocacy materials including briefs, presentations, and reports.

- Support the integration of strong safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) practices into project design and delivery.
- Contribute to the effective implementation of Lepra’s Safeguarding and PSEA policies and procedures and promote a safeguarding culture within the organisation.

Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, International Development, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in project coordination, preferably in the health; humanitarian or in the international development sector.
Desirable
- Relevant post-graduate qualification
- Relevant professional health-related qualification
- Project Cycle management qualification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Experience in project coordination or management, preferably within the health or humanitarian sector.
- Ability to plan, execute, monitor, and evaluate projects effectively.
- Experience in coordinating multiple tasks and managing timelines effectively.
Desirable
- Experience as a project coordinator, preferably gained with an overseas development organisation or in academia, in a similar health focused role.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting is an advantage.
- Experience with statistical analysis software or GIS mapping tools.
- Experience working in or with Southeast Asian communities.
- Proficiency in one or more Indian languages (e.g., Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, etc.) is an asset.
