The Events & Enterprises Assistant will be expected to work within the diverse and inclusive ethos of Southwark Cathedral. They should be able to be flexible and creative in maximising the opportunities for commercial income alongside the worshipping and community life of the Cathedral. The post-holder will also be expected to work closely with staff and volunteers from all areas of Cathedral life.
Role Overview
The Events & Enterprises Assistant is an exciting role offering both administrative and practical support to the Cathedral and its trading company Southwark Cathedral Enterprises Limited (SCEL). The post-holder will provide key administrative support to the COO, who is Company Secretary of SCEL, as well as giving broad practical support to the Head of Events to help deliver the special events and commercial meeting-room business.
The post-holder will provide support to the Head of Events in the delivery of a colourful programme of special events in the Cathedral space. Each year we hold a number of private parties, dinners and fundraising events as well as concerts, memorial events and carol services. The Head of Events holds the responsibility for converting special event enquiries into confirmed visits, relationship management and this post will share event management ‘on the day’, to ensure the smooth and safe delivery of often complex largescale events. Most often working one year ahead of the event, the post-holder will provide administrative and operational support for preparations and the delivery of the events by completion of operational notes, RAMS or similar.
Additionally, the Events & Enterprises Assistant will be responsible for the effective day- to-day management of commercial bookings for the Cathedral’s meeting rooms. Our conference business, comprising three main meeting rooms of varying sizes, has a wide client base drawn from the commercial, government, charity and national health sectors and many of the bookings are repeat business. The meeting rooms have an excellent reputation and are popular with clients and for managing the clients’ experience from initial enquiry to final invoice. The post-holder will provide a welcome to clients on arrival, 3 ensuring that their room, IT and catering specifications have been met and manage their requirements during their stay.
They will also work closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager on communications campaigns which are relevant to the Cathedral’s conference and special events business activity.
The post-holder will support the work of the Board of Enterprises by organising the annual schedule of Board meetings – booking meeting rooms, setting up technology and refreshments on the day, attending and minuting meetings and acting as a point of contact for members of the Board. They will also support the Cathedral’s COO in their role as Company Secretary of SCEL - assisting them with correspondence, meeting arrangements, collation of papers and drafting reports for meetings and liaising where necessary with the finance team.

The Head of Fundraising will lead all fundraising activities, overseeing the full spectrum of income generation to support our mission of empowering young people through football and education. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to lead on fundraising for an organisation which has barely scratched the surface of the fundraising landscape. There is autonomy over the direction of travel with a lot of support from the CEO on ideas and future programmes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Strategic Fundraising Leadership
o Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to grow income across all streams, aligning with the Foundation’s goals.
o Set long-term targets for income growth, monitoring progress and adapting strategies to capitalise on emerging opportunities.
o Act as a key ambassador, representing the Foundation at senior-level meetings with funders and corporate leaders to secure support.
· Trusts, Foundations, and Statutory Funding
o Lead on securing multi-year grants from major trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies, producing compelling applications and stewardship reports.
o Manage a portfolio of high-value trust relationships, cultivating new leads and ensuring personalised engagement to maximise funding.
o Oversee statutory funding bids, including government departments and local authorities, to support programme.
· Philanthropy, Major Donors, and Individual Giving
o Build and steward a portfolio of major donors and philanthropists, networking to identify prospects and delivering tailored proposals to secure gifts.

o Negotiate and manage partnerships that provide financial support, in-kind contributions, or co-branded initiatives to enhance programme delivery.
· Events and Community Fundraising
o Plan and oversee fundraising events, such as corporate football tournaments, charity matches, and supporter evenings, to raise funds and build engagement.
o Manage event logistics, budgets, and partnerships to ensure successful delivery and measurable ROI.
· Digital Fundraising and Innovation
o Support digital fundraising strategies, including online campaigns, social media appeals, and email marketing to grow donor acquisition and retention.
o Champion the use of AI and new technologies to optimise fundraising processes, such as personalised donor communications and data analysis.
o Ensure robust data management in CRM systems to track donor interactions, compliance with GDPR, and fundraising performance.

About Children Not Numbers
The conflict in Gaza has left thousands of children in urgent need of medical care, trauma support, and long-term assistance. Children Not Numbers is a grassroots UK-based charity committed to the health, safety, education, and wellbeing of Gaza’s children.
Children Not Numbers was established in early 2024 to address the urgent need to support Palestinian children caught up amid an unprecedented conflict. Within 18 months, we have grown rapidly into a global network of c.200 staff and volunteers, most of whom are volunteer paediatric medics representing more than 30 subspecialties.

Role Overview
Support Through Sport CIO is seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to deliver our innovative School and Community Navigator programme throughout Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The Senior School and Community Navigator will lead a team of three Navigators across four schools in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The role combines direct support to children and young people aged 10–17 with leadership and coordination responsibilities, ensuring delivery is of the highest standard and in line with Support Through Sport policies and project specifications.
Working closely with schools, families, and local agencies, the Senior Navigator will provide supervision and guidance to staff, build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and ensure effective safeguarding, monitoring, and reporting systems are in place. You will work with young people aged 10–17 in community settings, building trust-based relationships and providing early intervention to reduce risk factors linked to crime, violence, and exploitation.
The role combines youth work, mentoring, and community engagement, supporting young people to tackle challenges such as disengagement in education, substance use, poverty, discrimination, and school exclusion. You will act as an advocate for young people, bridging gaps with the wider community while promoting respect, empowerment, and positive life choices whilst working utilising a child-centred and collaborative approach.

Role Description
The Safeguarding Officer will lead and oversee all aspects of safeguarding within St Edmundsbury Cathedral, ensuring that the Cathedral remains a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the Cathedral meets all statutory safeguarding obligations and complies fully with the Church of England’s national safeguarding policies, diocesan frameworks, and relevant legislation. Strategic leadership
- Act as the Cathedral’s primary safeguarding lead, providing authoritative advice and operational oversight to the Chapter, leadership team, clergy, staff and volunteers.

The EEM will support pathways, work placements, recruitment pipelines and workshops by ensuring employer input is actively embedded where relevant.
This is a strategic, hands-on role, the successful candidate will map and cultivate employer relationships, secure employer input into sector pathways, workshops and recruitment initiatives, translate labour market intelligence into programme improvements, and design the operational processes that enable Programmes and Corporate Partnerships to work together effectively. As Development Manager you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our Trusts & Foundations programme by cultivating new relationships and securing substantial funding from trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies. In addition, you will also play a key role in advancing our income generation from businesses and contribute to the development of our events and funder communications.

Your role will include:

Securing funding for diverse aspects of our work against Hubbub’s annual fundraising target, from core costs to specific roles, to scaling successful projects.

Contributing to the growth of the Trusts fundraising pipeline, nurturing new relationships with both solicited and unsolicited prospects, and supporting colleagues to do the same.

Working closely with Project Leads and Directors to deliver engaging and persuasive trusts and statutory proposals that expertly match funding criteria to Hubbub’s projects and priorities.

Identifying external networking opportunities for yourself and the wider team to increase our visibility amongst potential funders and build new relationships.

Undertaking regular prospect research to identify new Trusts that align with Hubbub’s strategy, focus areas and projects

Strengthening existing Trusts relationships by showcasing our impact through timely reporting, and delivering donor stewardship to high standards.

Updating our funder database (Pipedrive), with relevant funder information in a timely manner.

Keeping up with environmental and philanthropic developments and trends so you can join the dots between the urgent environmental challenges that we face, the sustainability ambitions of funders and our own strategic objectives.

You will also be expected to join in-person funder meetings whenever required, likely in and around London.

The wider team to secure income from businesses. This will involve developing introduction decks, employee engagement offerings, client proposals and more.

Hubbub events by contributing to ideas, compiling invitee lists, and drafting invitations.

A variety of other activities that will support our income generation when required.
Who you are

You’re motivated and ambitious, with a tenacity to work towards targets. You will likely have contributed to and secured 5-6 figure grants from Trusts and statutory bodies. You’re open to taking risks and learning from failure.

You’re an excellent bid writer and enjoy converting complex projects into winning proposals with funders’ motivations and criteria in mind.

Your relationship building skills are top-notch, both virtual and IRL. You’re confident developing new funder relationships from scratch, whilst nurturing existing ones. You enjoy getting away from your desk and finding opportunities to network.

You have a deep understanding of how trusts and foundations work and are open to sharing your knowledge with colleagues.

You’re collaborative and able to work across all levels of an organisation, managing up and down when needed, to produce high quality bids on time and on budget.

You’ll enjoy researching and prioritising new Trusts funders to approach.

It would be a bonus if you have experience fundraising from businesses and/or high net worth individuals, plus utilising a CRM system to not just track deals but identify useful insights.

About the Role
As Health and Safety Manager, you will support the Head of Health and Safety with implementing a transformative, strategic Health and Safety Management System across Save the Children UK. You will provide expert advice and operational leadership to ensure compliance with legal and policy requirements while empowering managers and teams to take ownership of their health and safety responsibilities. Through collaboration and innovation, you'll help shape a culture where safety, wellbeing and human-centric design are integral to how we work.
In this role, you will:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate day-to-day health and safety risks across all UK operations, ensuring compliance and continuity.
- Support and equip line managers to uphold statutory obligations and maintain consistent legal compliance.
- Conduct, review, and document risk assessments, inspections, and audits, driving continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, implementing and tracking corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Facilitate effective Health and Safety Committee meetings and support governance, reporting, and communication of outcomes.
- Contribute to crisis management and emergency response planning, ensuring coordinated and effective actions when needed.
About You

To be successful, it is important that you have:
- A recognised Health and Safety qualification (GradIOSH / CertIOSH or equivalent) and are working towards or hold professional membership (e.g. CMIOSH).

- Proven experience implementing and maintaining externally audited management systems such as ISO45001.
- Strong ability to engage, influence, and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including senior management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coach, train and promote best practice across teams.

Location & Ways of Working:
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but at times you will be required to come to your contracted office (usually between 2–4 days per month, depending on the needs of your role, team, or service). This role will also require some travel to other offices and retail sites across the UK.

Every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with a brain injury. Our job is to support survivors and their families from the moment brain injury strikes – and to do that, we need your help and expertise!
We’re seeking a determined, values-driven Director of Fundraising to drive income generation across several different disciplines, helping to ensure we can continue delivering vital support to people affected by brain injury.
This role isn’t just about setting strategy; it’s about being actively involved in in a hands-on capacity as you build relationships and lead fundraising efforts across community, individual giving, corporate partnerships, events, legacies and trusts fundraising.
You will also oversee and support the Head of Retail, ensuring that income from our charity shops contributes effectively to the organisation’s overall financial sustainability and growth.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will also have the opportunity to shape Headway’s future and contribute to key decisions across the charity, including working with trustees and contributing to board meetings.
Key areas of accountability
- Develop, maintain, and evolve a multi‑year fundraising strategy (3‑5 years) aligned with Headway’s strategy, priorities, and risk appetite.
- Lead the development and delivery of income generation plans across all fundraising channels (retail, individual giving, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, events, legacies, and community fundraising), translating organisational objectives into clear annual targets, growth strategies, and actionable fundraising plans.
- Personally lead on key fundraising initiatives, cultivating and stewarding donor relationships while overseeing a diverse portfolio of fundraising activities.
- Use data-driven insights to evaluate performance, inform strategy, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Manage and inspire a fundraising team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional development.
- Oversee the Head of Retail and ensure the effective operation and strategic development of Headway’s charity shops.
- Monitor fundraising performance and report on progress to the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees.
- Play an active role within the Senior Leadership Team, contributing insight and expertise on income generation, fundraising performance, risk, scenario planning, and resource allocation, while working closely with colleagues to support decision-making and drive organisational priorities.
- Act as a key ambassador for the organisation, representing its mission and values to external stakeholders, partners, and donors.
About you
We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser who has performed at a director level or equivalent, ideally at a charity with a UK-wide reach.
You will be able to nurture and develop the fundraising team, building a strong culture in line with the organisation’s values, and motivating others to achieve shared goals by using your working knowledge of various fundraising disciplines.
You will be a skilled communicator, able to build relationships with and instil confidence in internal and external stakeholders including donors, supporters, and colleagues.
You will be confident and proficient in using CRM systems and fundraising platforms to manage supporter data, analyse performance and support donor engagement with data-informed decision making.
And you will be able to combine a strategic and analytic mindset with proactive, hands-on fundraising.
Benefits
- You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension. This is based on your contribution of 5% and with Headway UK contributing 3%. For every 1% you increase above this, Headway UK will increase its contributions by 1% up to a total maximum of 6%.
