Your role will be to further develop and deliver a range of events and initiatives that the Harlequins Foundation offers to its supporters to help us to raise the funds we need to deliver our programmes. As the charitable arm of the Club, we deliver a variety of programmes aimed at achieving improved outcomes for education and employability, wellbeing and inclusion. The role will play a key part in delivering high-profile fundraising events while building the Foundation’s engagement with different communities and supporter types, being instrumental in delivering campaigns and events to engage new audiences with the Foundation’s purpose.
As a proactive and enthusiastic person, you'll need to be adept at managing multiple projects and events concurrently. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement and within a small Fundraising team, the successful applicant will be responsible for delivering events from Harlequins matchday activations to Foundation fundraising events.
You will develop key relationships within the Foundation and Club’s network of supporters, suppliers and delivery partners and manage a portfolio of events and activities for a range of supporter groups.
The successful candidate will be experienced in planning and delivering a variety of events, ideally within the charity sector with a focus on fundraising. An ability to provide exceptional experiences, catering to different audiences including both sports fans and high-net worth individuals as appropriate. Some weekend and evening working will be required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilites
- Support the development and delivery of a varied portfolio of events and fundraising activities to meet agreed objectives, all of which reflect the spirit of the Harlequins Foundation
- Deliver high quality supporter care and stewardship, ensuring a quality experience for supporters at all events that reflect the values and identity of the Foundation, and build long-term relationships with our supporters
- With support of the team where relevant, co-ordinate event logistics; including but not limited to sales, bookings and liaison with supporters and suppliers, material production, event marketing and promotion, set up, and delivery
- Maximise income from our portfolio of events and fundraising activations.
- Ensure relevant processes and policies are in place to deliver a successful, profitable events programme
- Oversee the management of fundraising systems and platforms to create the best possible experience for donors and participants
- Assist with all fundraising aspects of events including sourcing, recording and storing auction prizes and working with the team to manage auction fulfilment
- Regularly review the performance of events and fundraising campaigns, make recommendations for improvement, and support decision-making regarding fit of new opportunities for the Foundation
- Cultivate and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to Harlequin FC, their partners and sponsors, Quins Supporters Association (QUINSSA), Harlequins Players Association (HPA), event delivery partners and suppliers
- Represent the Foundation both internally and externally, acting as an ambassador for the Foundation and advocating for our work
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to degree level or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Exceptional events management and project management experience; managing a range of events and budgets in size, profile and scale
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills including budget and project management
- Experience of delivering fundraising events and activations that can engage supporters
- Ability to build excellent relationships especially with supporters, partners, ambassadors and suppliers
- Strong team player and project leadership, ensuring clear and regular communication with the team and stakeholders as appropriate
- Competent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience of CRM systems and project management tools
- Experience of working within the sports charity/sports sector
- Experience of working with high-net-worth individuals or celebrities would be an advantage

Duties and responsibilities

- Receipts, including PDQ, processing and reconciliation.
- Processing direct debits and credit card expenses.
- Cash and bank reconciliation and updates of bank and deposit balances.
- Recording receipts – subscriptions, legacies, grants, gift aid and investment income.

CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit adoption agencies across the UK who specialise in finding homes for children in care. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. Your new role

About Us
The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. Additionally, our UR4Jobs project focusses on both client wellbeing and breaking down the many barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged people every day.
The role
This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Occasionally, the role will also require presenting or talking to both funders and community groups as we share our magnificent story with them – and ultimately, convince them to support us.
About You
You live within – or know well – West/Central London; you probably need a job with some working flexibility and want to have genuine belief in the cause you’re promoting. You have a CV that demonstrates experience in a comparable role: this could be in another charity, CIC or other Non-Profit organisation. You are comfortable and confident with working autonomously, so you will need to be disciplined; you can articulate and ‘bring to life’ our story through your advanced written and oral communication skills, enabling us to always deliver highly compelling reasons to secure gain financial (and other) support. You don’t need to be a Microsoft Office expert, but you should be familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Finally, you are self-motivated and energetic, as well as passionate about making sure disadvantaged groups across West London get the opportunity to improve their highly challenging lives. Ideally you will have a driver's licence and use of a car, but this is not essential.

Age UK is currently looking for a Senior Public Affairs Officer to take forward our Public Affairs work, influencing and changing public policy, to improve the lives of older people.
You will design and deliver public affairs strategies which grow Age UK's profile in Westminster and Whitehall and build support for our policy and campaigning priorities. Highly attuned to the political environment, you will identify key political targets, building new and deepening existing relationships.
You will line manage the Public Affairs Officer and oversee public affairs work done by the team's Support Officer.

Additional Information
Must be able to travel easily into central London to attend meetings, sometimes at short notice. Required to be in the London office at least one day a week.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
This role would suit someone with a proven track record in collaborative new business development from concept and research to delivery; ideally in an environment working with local authorities, NHS, DWP, health bodies, and/or grant institutions. Main Purpose of the Role
The main objectives of the Corporate Fundraising Manager role is to lead the Corporate Partnerships programme; sourcing, developing and sustaining funding partnerships with a wide range of companies. This is a senior and hands-on role. You will take responsibility for developing and sustaining your own portfolio of corporate partners working with them to secure significant funds.
Main Areas of Responsibility
• Implement a corporate strategy which increases income and the number of corporate partners to exceed targets and build the pipeline for future years.

• Secure new business support from companies, taking a strategic and proactive approach to new business development.
