The Individual Giving Manager will lead the development of RLSS UK’s first comprehensive individual giving programme, building all activity from the ground up. This includes designing compelling supporter propositions, establishing donor journeys, and creating engaging campaigns that drive acquisition and long-term support.

A key part of the role will be scoping, procuring, and managing external suppliers, agencies, platforms, and partners required to deliver individual giving products and activity. This includes the development and future launch of new income streams for RLSS UK, such as a charity lottery, as well as regular giving, legacy marketing, and in-memory giving opportunities.

The postholder will play a central role in shaping the future of supporter engagement at RLSS UK, introducing best practice, ensuring strong stewardship, and embedding a supporter‑centred culture across the organisation.

JOB PURPOSE

To develop, launch, and grow RLSS UK’s first individual giving programme, building sustainable income streams that support our vital work in water safety education. As the first dedicated individual giving role, you will design the strategy and deliver hands on activity, creating compelling propositions, supporter journeys and campaigns across regular giving, one‑off gifts, lottery, legacies and in‑memory giving.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Strategy

• Develop RLSS UK’s first Individual Giving strategy, setting clear plans, targets, and opportunities for growth across all giving products.
• Introduce and embed best practice in compliance, data management, supporter care, and ethical fundraising.

Supplier and Partner Development

• Scope organisational needs and procure/manage suppliers, agencies and platforms required to deliver individual giving activity.
• Lead onboarding and manage delivery to agreed standards, budgets and timelines.

Supporter Engagement and Campaign Development

• Design end‑to‑end supporter journeys (acquisition, welcome, nurture, upgrade, reactivation, retention).
• Plan and deliver multi‑channel campaigns (digital, social, email, paid, direct mail) to acquire, retain and engage supporters.
• Build audience understanding through segmentation, insight and experimentation.
• Work closely with Marketing and Communications, Membership, and other teams to embed Individual Giving into the organisation.

Product Development

• Scope and pilot propositions for: Regular Giving, Digital one‑off, Charity Lottery, Legacy Giving, In‑Memory, Appeals/integrated campaigns, and Mid‑value.
• Produce product business cases with KPIs, budgets, phasing and implementation plans.

Reporting and Evaluation

• Establish reporting and monitoring frameworks for Individual Giving activity.
• Use early data and insight to inform decision‑making, future planning, and product development.
• Ensure all activity complies with the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Practice, GDPR, PECR and Gambling Commission requirements.
• Monitor and report on individual giving performance against KPIs and targets, reporting on performance to the Director of Income Generation and Engagement, Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees. 

Other Duties & Responsibilities

• All other duties reasonably associated with your role, as directed by the Line Manager.
• Act as an ambassador for the Income Generation & Engagement directorate, supporting a culture of collaboration, learning and innovation.
• Ensure compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 by complying with internal information governance policies and maintaining up-to-date documentation as part of RLSS UK’s compliance programme.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Relevant Experience, Skills and/or Aptitudes

• Demonstrable experience of individual giving across multiple products, which may include regular giving, one‑off gifts, lottery, legacy giving, in‑memory giving, and appeals.
• Ability to craft compelling supporter propositions and use storytelling to communicate impact and motivate giving.
• Proven track record designing and managing supporter journeys that improve acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
• Experience of delivering multi‑channel integrated acquisition campaigns, (digital and offline approaches).
• Experience of procuring and managing suppliers, agencies, and platforms, ensuring high‑quality delivery and value for money.
• Data‑driven mindset, comfortable with metrics, segmentation, reporting, insight gathering, and budget forecasting.
• Strong understanding of return on investment (ROI) and the ability to evaluate the effectiveness, sustainability, and value of fundraising activity.
• Strong understanding of CRM systems and fundraising technologies, and how these support effective individual giving programmes.
• Understanding of fundraising regulation, GDPR, and ethical fundraising practices.
• Experience managing budgets and ensuring effective allocation of resources.
• Comfortable working in an environment where systems, processes, and programmes are being built from the ground up.

Desirable Relevant Experience, Skills and/or Aptitudes

• Knowledge and understanding of RLSS UK’s mission, values and strategic priorities.
• Experience of working in a charity or organisation where individual giving programmes have been developed from the ground up.
• Experience of launching new giving products such as lotteries, regular giving propositions, or digital donation platforms.

You’ll take ownership of the communications and marketing requirements for our Partnerships and Communities portfolio, ensuring every project has a clear, impactful marketing strategy. • Identifying, delivering and collaborating on profile-raising activations with partners (e.g., events, co-branded campaigns, ambassador activity, PR opportunities) that celebrate the charity, extend reach, and support a more inclusive society, working with Community Integrated Care’s external communications team – including PR and Media, Social Media, Policy & Public Affairs and Design specialists.

About the role

The Head of Public Fundraising & Engagement will lead our public fundraising portfolio. This newly created role will oversee Individual Giving and Legacies, Community Fundraising, Mass Participation and Challenge Events, and Fundraising Operations, with five direct reports.

You will be accountable for public fundraising income and performance, whilst also helping to bring together teams, systems and ways of working following the merger. You’ll sit on both the Fundraising Senior Management Team and the organisation’s Senior Management Team, contributing to organisation-wide strategy, decision-making and culture.

You will play a key role in shaping our three-year public fundraising strategy, ensuring it is ambitious, realistic and rooted in audience insight.

Whilst much of the portfolio is delivered through Senior Managers, there is particular scope and opportunity, to shape the future of Community and Mass Fundraising – where we’ve deliberately protected delivery while leaving space for the new Head to define long-term strategy, growth and resource.

You’ll also play a leading role in embedding a new organisational brand once agreed.

Setting direction and growing income

•Champion the growth of long-term sustainable income that supports the organisation’s 3–5-year income ambitions.

Shaping Community and Mass Fundraising

•    Make a hands-on strategic lead in shaping the future direction of Community and Mass Fundraising.

•Build momentum and organisational confidence in areas with significant untapped potential.

Working with our network partners

•Play a leading role in shaping how we fundraise with, for and alongside our network partners in the public fundraising space, working closely with the Senior Network Fundraising Manager.

Developing high-potential partnerships

Shaping our legacy fundraising proposition

•Take a strategic lead in developing our legacy fundraising approach, working closely with the Senior IG & Legacy Manager.

•Shape a compelling legacy proposition linked to our impact, values and volunteer workforce – an area of untapped potential.

•Ensure legacy fundraising asks are integrated into wider supporter journeys and long term planning.

•Build organisational confidence, capability and momentum in this area over time.

Brand embedding and supporter acquisition

•Play a leading role in embedding the new organisational brand across all public fundraising activity once agreed.

•Work closely with colleagues in Marketing & Communications to ensure fundraising needs are reflected in the new brand as it develops over time.

•Support your team to translate brand strategy into practical, high-performing fundraising activity.

Merger transition and CRM

•Play a senior role in the organisation’s merger transition, with particular focus on the Fundraising Transition, working closely with the Fundraising Transition Lead, ensuring that public fundraising’s priorities are reflected in change planning.

•Act as the senior fundraising lead for the implementation of a combined CRM, ensuring public fundraising needs shape system design, data structure, reporting and supporter journeys.

•Work closely with colleagues in digital, data and IT, as well as external partners, to ensure systems support future growth and great supporter experiences.

•Balance business-as-usual income delivery with the demands of transformation and change.

•Help modernise processes and ways of working so the organisation can scale effectively.

About You

• Substantial experience in fundraising from at least one of the following: trusts and foundations, corporates or individual giving.
• Substantial understanding of charity sector regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical fundraising standards.

Tiphereth is a Camphill community in Edinburgh providing residential care and day services for adults with learning disabilities and autism. Role’s Primary Objective

• Develop compelling cases for support and funding proposals for capital projects and programme development

• Build and maintain long-term relationships with donors, ensuring exceptional stewardship and regular impact reporting

• Support the CEO and trustees in their donor engagement activities, preparing briefings and facilitating introductions

• Maximise tax-efficient giving through Gift Aid and other mechanisms

3. Grants and Trusts

• Research and develop a pipeline of grant-making trusts and foundations aligned with Tiphereth's work

• Write and submit high-quality funding applications, working collaboratively with service managers to develop project proposals

• Maintain accurate records of applications, outcomes and reporting requirements

• Build relationships with programme officers and foundation staff to strengthen future applications

4. Marketing and Communications

• Lead the development and implementation of Tiphereth's marketing and communications strategy

• Oversee brand management, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across all channels, including timely responses to donors and interested parties

• Develop engaging content including the Annual Impact Report, newsletters, social media and website

• Champion digital fundraising initiatives and enhance supporter journeys to improve engagement and retention

• Raise Tiphereth's profile through media engagement, events and participation in sector networks

5. Community Fundraising and Events

• Develop and grow community fundraising income including individual giving, regular giving and legacy programmes

• Plan and deliver fundraising events and supporter engagement activities that reflect Tiphereth's values

• Support and coordinate third-party fundraising by community supporters

• Explore corporate partnership opportunities aligned with our ethos

6. Team Development and Management

• Build the case for and recruit specialist roles in marketing, community fundraising and grant-writing as capacity grows (from Year Two)

• Lead, manage and develop team members, fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture

• Manage budgets for fundraising and marketing activities, monitoring performance and return on investment

• Provide clear reporting on fundraising performance to the CEO and subsequently to the Board

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

The Role

CoppaFeel! is seeking an inspiring and strategic Fundraising Director to lead our fundraising activity and help to drive the next phase of our growth.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, you’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering our fundraising strategy, ensuring a strong, diverse and sustainable income portfolio that enables us to reach more people and move closer to a world where all breast cancers are diagnosed early. Leading and supporting a newly formed but high performing team, you’ll oversee new business development, high value corporate partnerships and outstanding stewardship of our supporters. Working closely with the CEO and colleagues across the organisation you’ll set ambitious targets, identify opportunities for growth and champion long term, values aligned partnerships.

CoppaFeel! has experienced a period of exceptional financial growth, increasing income from £1.6m to £7m in 5 years, driven in large part by the success of our partnership with Asda. This has placed the organisation in a strong and exciting position with the opportunity to build for the long term, diversify our income, and significantly increase our impact.

The Fundraising Director will provide bold, strategic leadership to shape the next phase of CoppaFeel!’s growth, evolving our fundraising model, reducing reliance on any single income stream and ensuring long term sustainability. This role is about setting vision, unlocking opportunity and embedding fundraising as a strategic, organisation wide function. While oversight of day to day fundraising performance remains important, this role is fundamentally future focused building resilience and driving innovation.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in our offices based in London Bridge. This role sits within our Senior Management Team and reports into the CEO.

Duties and responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

• Work as part of the CoppaFeel! SMT shaping the organisational strategy, culture and cross departmental ways of working
• Set and lead an ambitious, multi year fundraising vision aligned to CoppaFeel!’s organisational strategy and impact goals
• Develop and support the Fundraising Team in the delivery of the fundraising strategy to ensure long term sustainability and maximum impact
• Provide strong, clear and consistent leadership through a period of growth, transformation and increasing complexity
• Champion innovation, testing and learning across all fundraising streams to unlock new opportunities and audiences
• Work collaboratively across all departments to ensure that fundraising is integrated across the organisation and aligned with our organisational delivery

Governance

• Work closely with the SMT to develop strategic recommendations for the Board of Trustees and support effective governance
• Development of the 3 year budget, including regular reforecasting and longer term projections to inform investment and growth decisions
• Analyse and monitor the ROI of across all income streams, using insight to drive decision making! 
• Take on fundraising related governance responsibilities, including attendance at Finance Committee meetings and contributing to the annual report.
• Provide confident, strategic leadership on financial risk, opportunity and sustainability

Fundraising

• Drive the delivery of CoppaFeel!'s growth strategy, including achieving fundraising targets across multiple fundraising streams
• Develop new strategies and adapt existing ones in response to external trends, audience insight and organisational priorities
• Support the Asda partnership at a strategic level, ensuring income is stewarded effectively and impact is clearly reported
• Oversee and empower the Department Heads in the implementation and optimitisation of the fundraising strategy
• Lead the diversification of income, reducing reliance on any single partner or activity and building a resilient, balanced fundraising portfolio Identify and develop fundraising opportunities that are accessible, inclusive and engaging for 18–24-year-olds and priority audiences

Sector representation

• Act as a visible ambassador for CoppaFeel! within the fundraising sector
• Build CoppaFeel!’s fundraising credibility through conference speaking, thought leadership, award entries and sector engagement

General duties of a CoppaFeel! employee

• To work cooperatively, respectfully and effectively with colleagues to ensure CoppaFeel! achieves its annual strategy
• Update database with relevant contacts
• To assist in identifying and highlighting key external trends which are relevant to the Charity’s operation and provide relevant advice
• To participate, as appropriate, in staff forums and meetings
• To adhere to CoppaFeel!’s Policies and Procedures
• To be flexible with working hours and be willing to work weekend hours where appropriate (i.e. fundraising events) where time off in lieu will be rewarded
• To carry out other tasks as required by the CEO occasionally

Skills and attributes

Essential

• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to represent CoppaFeel! credibly at the highest levels
• Experience operating successfully at a strategic leadership level within a medium sized or large organisation
• A proven, creative and commercial approach to income generation, underpinned by strong market insight
• Strong financial acumen, with confidence in budget management, forecasting and ROI analysis
• Experience reshaping or diversifying a fundraising portfolio
• Experience working closely with and presenting to a Board of Trustees and senior stakeholders
• Ability to inspire, lead and develop high performing teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sound judgement around risk and reputation
• Thrives in a fast paced, ambitious and evolving environment

Desirable

• Comfortable leading through change, complexity and growth
• Experience working in a rapidly scaling organisation
