As Head of Individual Giving, you will report directly to the CEO and lead a passionate team dedicated to inspiring individuals to support the charity’s mission. You’ll shape and deliver multi-channel fundraising campaigns that grow the organisation donor base, deepen supporter relationships, and drive sustainable income.

This is a senior leadership role with significant influence across the organisation. You’ll collaborate closely with heads of other departments to ensure fundraising is aligned with the charity mission delivery, communications, and international programmes.

As a Head of Individual Giving you will:

• Head the strategic development and delivery of all individual giving activity.
• Oversee a diverse portfolio of appeals, ensuring campaign success across acquisition, retention, and stewardship.
• Drive innovation in supporter engagement, including regular giving, legacy marketing, and donor journeys.
• Manage key relationships with creative agencies, suppliers, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, Fundraising Regulator standards, and internal policies.
• Lead and develop a small, dedicated team including the Individual Giving Manager, Supporter Care Officer, and CRM Data Entry Officer.
• Oversee the fundraising CRM (Salesforce), ensuring data is accurate, insightful, and utilised to shape campaigns.

To be successful, you must have experience:

• Significant experience in Direct Marketing, ideally within a charity.
• Proven success in individual giving and campaign management.
• Strong understanding of CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.
• Experienced team leader with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and budgets.
• Excellent communication and copywriting skills.

Salary: £54,000 per annum

About the role

As Head of Health and Safety, you will lead the design and delivery of an organisation-wide health and safety strategy that embeds a proactive, people-centred safety culture across Save the Children UK. You will strengthen governance and compliance, oversee incident and risk management, and ensure our systems and training empower every colleague to play their part in keeping themselves and others safe.

In this role, you will:
• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive Health & Safety framework and management system aligned with UK legislation and best practice.
• Embed a proactive, positive safety culture where all colleagues understand and take ownership of health and safety.
• Oversee governance and assurance, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and alignment with SCUK's risk and compliance functions.

About you

We're looking for a Health & Safety leader with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills who is excited to deliver true impact. 

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or equivalent, with demonstrable competence as a Health & Safety leader.
• Significant experience in a senior H&S role, ideally in a complex multi-site organisation (e.g., retail, charity, facilities, or commercial).
• Proven track record of developing and embedding H&S management systems and delivering cultural change.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation, risk management frameworks, and compliance obligations.
• Experience managing serious incidents, investigations, and regulatory engagement.
• Skilled communicator, able to influence senior leaders and engage volunteers and frontline staff.
• Experience building and leading H&S teams, including developing others' competence.
• Knowledge of security, and safeguarding interactions with H&S.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 or similar management systems.
• Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with leaders and influence at all levels.

About the opportunity
As Head of Impact & Quality, you’ll lead the department that covers impact measurement, evaluation of our programmes, data management, curriculum development, training and quality of tutors and other initiatives that drive the evidence-based culture of Action Tutoring. With a strong understanding of the charity's theory of change, you’ll strengthen existing impact and quality processes and make strategic recommendations that develop these further. You’ll play a vital role in helping the Senior Management Team balance quality and quantity with sustainable business decisions. As well as leading the department, you’ll build external networks and represent the charity externally at relevant events, in person and online. As Action Tutoring begins planning for a new strategic cycle, you’ll design, evaluate and advise on the scale up of pilots in new ways of achieving our mission.

CONTEXT OF THIS ROLE:

At Purposeful, communications is political. It is how we amplify girls’ voices, sharpen feminist narratives, and push back against regressive agendas. The Communications Director will sit at the heart of this work - shaping and delivering a bold communications strategy aligned with Purposeful’s vision, mission, and growth.

This role leads the stewardship of Purposeful’s voice, visual identity, and storytelling practice, ensuring that everything we produce - whether op-eds, reports, campaigns, or digital content - carries our politics with clarity and conviction. The Communications Director will work closely with the Co-CEOs and across all Purposeful teams, including Advocacy, grant-making, Learning & Insights, Programmes, and Resource Mobilisation, to amplify girls’ organising, showcase our impact, and influence the broader philanthropic and activist ecosystem.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role, requiring a deep commitment to feminist movements, an instinct for storytelling as political practice, and a proven track record of positioning organisations on the global stage.

 

SCOPE OF WORK

1. Communications Strategy & Leadership

• Lead on delivery and implementation of a new communications strategy, building on 2025 planning foundations.

• Work closely with the Co-CEOs and director team to horizon scan and adapt strategy in response to organisational vision and external landscape.

• Provide leadership to a small team of staff and consultants (designers, digital specialists, artists) and work collaboratively with partner communications leads on joint campaigns and initiatives.

• Meticulously manage and forecast the communications and editorial budget, ensuring value for money and strong planning.

• Track and analyse content performance, using insights to refine reach and engagement.

2. Storytelling & Content Development

• Oversee the creation of compelling storytelling content that highlights Purposeful’s impact, amplifies girls’ and young feminists’ voices, and influences funders.

• Lead editorial planning and content workflows, balancing evergreen storytelling with crisis-response or time-sensitive outputs.

• Oversee production and capture of content from live and digital events (webinars, IG Lives, panels, etc.).

• Coordinate brand refresh projects, including a website refresh, and strengthen Purposeful’s digital visibility with a focus on graphic-led content across social platforms.

3. Writing & Editorial Oversight

• Review and edit all external content to ensure quality, editorial standard, and alignment with Purposeful’s voice and values.

• Write op-eds, blogs, social media posts, campaign messaging, press materials, and executive summaries.

• Collaborate with colleagues in Learning & Insights to integrate data into storytelling and publications.

• Edit and manage the production of publications and reports, commissioning artists and graphic designers as needed.

• Provide editorial oversight for media projects, including radio, film, and animation.

4. Media Engagement & Positioning

• Cultivate strong relationships with international, regional, and local media outlets.

About The Role
We are recruiting for a Head of Audience Strategy to join on a permanent contract. This is a home-based role working full-time, 35 hours per week, with occasional travel required for team and stakeholder meetings and events.

The last few years have seen unprecedented growth in the public profile of dementia, driven in part by the growing size, impact and ambition of Alzheimer’s Society – the UK’s leading dementia charity. We now need to ensure that everyone who needs dementia support today can access it, while improving our ability to attract, engage and retain the donors, volunteers and campaigners who so generously give money, time and voice to deliver enduring change. Crucial to this is strategic audience development: driving growth by being clearer about who we need to engage, why, and how.

As Head of Audience Strategy, you will develop a comprehensive strategy that delivers a step-change in the maturity and effectiveness of audience insight at Alzheimer’s Society. Built on a range of high-quality insight, data analysis and modelling, the strategy will reflect the evolving relationship to dementia and our Society among the public and other key external stakeholders.

You will work to identify the priority groups we need to engage to drive sustainable growth across all areas of engagement. You and your team will support teams to develop acquisition and engagement strategies which feel truly audience-led, orchestrating warm supporter communications and journeys which ensure we’re growing the right audiences to meet our objectives.

A priority will be ensuring that teams have the right tools to understand, segment and target their priority audiences. You will also be responsible for supporting teams to generate high-quality evaluations of activity in relation to audience goals – using these to capture new insights that improve our overall understanding and demonstrate the value of your team. At all times, you’ll act as an articulate champion of the power of audience strategy. You will lead senior conversations across the Society about what we know and wish to achieve with our audiences and constantly seek opportunities for your team to support others to enhance their impact and deepen their engagement.

We have provisionally scheduled the first stage of interviews for this role to take place on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th November.

About you
Joining us, you’ll have experience in developing and implementing audience or engagement strategies, and extensive experience of diverse qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis. You will also be able to demonstrate proven ability to synthesise these insights and apply them to all levels of the marketing funnel, across cold and warm audiences.

Crucially, you’ll be able to build positive relationships, influence key stakeholders and use your communication and leadership skills to manage and motivate cross-functional teams. You’ll be able to take a holistic view across the areas you manage and use this insight to contribute to organisational strategy through an audience development lens.

You don’t need to have a background in the charity sector, and you may or may not have a connection to dementia, you might be an accomplished Audience Insight professional looking for progression or be an established senior leader in this area already. We’re interested to hear from you if you feel that your skills and experience could be transferred to this role. We hope the Society’s purpose and ambition resonates with you, and you’ll be motivated to help drive significant growth across all our engagement channels in the coming years.

What you’ll focus on:

- Developing and implementing a Society-wide audience strategy that demonstrably helps to drive growth by clearly laying out the key groups that Alzheimer’s Society needs to engage (including how and why) to progress different areas of our activity.
- Supporting senior stakeholders to create sub-strategies that help directorates and departments working on specific activities, campaigns, content and channels to clarify their target audiences for engagement (acquisition and retention) to drive growth and impact.
- Acting as our leading ambassador and spokesperson for audience strategy and insight, representing our audience knowledge and approach in senior forums as well as with key external partners (e.g. media and creative agencies).
- Leading the evaluation of you and your team’s contribution, developing a high-performance culture rooted in continuous improvement and a growth mindset. In addition to demonstrating the benefits of a more strategic approach to audience insight in terms of driving growth and impact.
- Oversee the co-ordinated delivery of high-quality insight, analysis and delivery from your teams, ensuring that their outputs meet the strategic and operational needs of the Society at large, and individual marketing and engagement teams.

As Director of Development, you will

• Lead the fundraising team and nurture their potential following a period of leadership change.

• Shape and deliver a multi-channel fundraising strategy, with a focus on major gifts, high-net-worth individuals (HNWI), corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, legacies and international networks.

About the Role
