We are recruiting a General Advice Officer to support with the delivery of advice and welfare support to vulnerable guests who access the Community Wellbeing Service, a local support hub offering relief from the rising cost of living for local families. The General Advice Officer will support our guests on a range of areas including benefits, immigration, housing, money management and access to training and employment services. The postholder will provide high quality welfare advice and guidance through weekly one-to-one advice sessions, undertake case work, work with partners to facilitate referrals, and provide support to advice volunteers. 

The successful candidate must have at least two years’ experience delivering effective advice or in a similar capacity, demonstrate empathy, an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people, and have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefits and housing policies/legislations, with a strong focus on achieving tangible outcomes for our guests.

Advice Work

• Carry out assessments to identify urgent needs and appropriate support pathways for members at the Community Wellbeing Service.
• Support outreach or community engagement activities as needed.
• Provide holistic and person-centred advice and casework on the main enquiry areas, particularly welfare benefits, housing, employment, health and wellbeing, immigration and money management.
• Maintain Sufra’s Advice Quality Standards and meeting tangible outcomes.
• Produce detailed case records on our case management system for the purpose of continuity, statistical monitoring and report preparation
• Apply for funds from trusts and foundations to support individuals and families with essential costs such as housing deposits or white-goods and/or cancellation of debts;
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders for joined up working, including statutory and voluntary service providers, making referrals for guests where appropriate.
• Enable and support guests to act for themselves, wherever appropriate.
• Monitor the progression of all cases to the point of resolution.
• Conduct follow-up calls with guests where needed and track outcomes
• Support volunteers who are working on delivering Advice Services e.g triage volunteers and pathways volunteers
• Provide advice to the General Advice Service as and when required

Case Management

• Manage own caseload and work independently to support guests
• Use of Case Management System (AdvicePro) as well as Microsoft Office for communication and document production.
• Support with developing case studies and gathering guest feedback
• Collect statistical information as requested for reporting purposes.
• Feed into the development of monitoring reports for funders and other stakeholders

Other Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the charity’s record of referral and signposting agencies;
• Ensure data protection regulations are adhered to, and that sensitive data is handled in accordance with relevant legislation and organisational procedures.
• Keep informed of new and changing legislation relevant to the post, and of local issues and policies
• Be committed to the aims, procedures and policies of Sufra’s advice service in every aspect of service delivery.
• Take part in supervisions, personal development training, team meetings and appraisals
• Undertake any other reasonable duties to support the operations of the charity.

Our client is a small, independent housing association providing general and supported housing for single homeless people across London. Their mission is to provide housing and skills development to people in need, providing a safe space in which they can attain independence. They are now recruiting an interim Head of Housing Services (initially on a 6 month fixed term contract) to provide strong leadership across our client’s housing portfolio.

As interim Head of Housing Services, you will provide inspiring leadership to your housing operations team, supporting staff to achieve tangible social impact and/or recovery outcomes in line with the organisation’s mission and with funder’s contractual obligations. You will act as strategic lead for income, service and performance management of our client’s property portfolio, ensuring compliance of housing stock and tenancy matters within legal and statutory requirements. You will prepare and present accurate performance reports for the entire portfolio, reporting on voids, rent management and tenant engagement outcomes to the CEO and local authority partners, identifying corrective action where needed. You will develop and manage effective allocation processes for maximum occupancy and will work closely with other delivery colleagues to ensure that housing is accessible and operates in line with any funding criteria.

The Specialist Housing IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. To be successful as the Senior Specialist Housing IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG higher level qualification.

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

Inter Mediate is a London-based peace-making charity supporting confidential negotiations in some of the world’s most challenging conflicts. Reporting to the Head of Finance, working closely with the Operations Director, and in close coordination with staff across IM, the key tasks of this role are to:

• Take a proactive and principal role in supporting Inter Mediate’s financial compliance;
• Support Inter Mediate to fulfil its accountability to funders;

Specific responsibilities

Finance

Working with the Head of Finance as required:

• Record and process a range of financial transactions accurately and efficiently to deadline in Sage 50 software (often in multiple currencies). Maintain financial records ensuring accuracy to facilitate internal and external audit processes;
• Take the lead in compiling, tracking and monitoring project budgets in close collaboration with operations and project teams;
• Track project and core expenditure and support in preparation of accurate, compliant and timely financial reports to funders to satisfy reporting requirements;
• Help to compile and monitor project budgets, log activities and record/prepare relevant material for grant audits;
• Implement and maintain financial policies and procedures;
• Manage book-keeping function by recording invoices, ensuring that they are promptly  authorised in line with agreed financial procedures and paid on time;
• Manage complex cash and credit card expenses by collating and recording in multiple currencies; and taking charge of banking, petty & foreign cash accounts;
• Take the lead on initiatives to research, introduce and implement appropriate finance software to make the finance function more efficient;
• Be prepared to play an active role as IM brings management accounting in-house
• Support Inter Mediate with company and grant audits.

Operations

Working with the Operations Director as required:

• Assist with researching and implementing operations systems, policies and procedures (as requested by the Operations Director;
• Assist with timesheets, and absence reporting management;
• Collaborate with operations and project teams in complying with donor requirements;
• Undertake special projects such as aspects of the salary and benefits benchmarking exercise;
• Assist with smooth running of the office and maintenance of office systems and equipment, including stationery orders, overseeing subscriptions and shredding.

General

• Assist with organising meetings and events, including travel logistics, and providing other general support when required.

HOMES FOR WELLS is looking for a dynamic new Chief Executive to lead our organisation into the next phase. As a small local Housing Association in the beautiful town of Wells-next-the-Sea we house local key workers in affordable rented accommodation.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is the senior lay officer in the Cathedral and has the responsibility for managing the business functions of the Cathedral and monitoring operational performance.

As COO. you will be pivotal to the delivery of the Cathedral’s vision and strategy and the development of business and operational plans to ensure delivery of the Cathedral’s strategic outcomes. You will work with the Dean and the Senior Management Team to develop and implement strategy and policy, ensuring good governance, the effective and professional administration of the Cathedral in compliance with all policies and procedures and relevant statutory legislation.

The Cathedral Chapter (our Trustee Board) is looking for a collaborative colleague who will enhance the Cathedral’s caring culture, working closely with the staff team, volunteers and the wider cathedral community. Chapter’s strategic priorities include working towards financial sustainability; reviewing the operating model of the Cathedral and managing change; working towards environmental sustainability; creating partnerships to support the Cathedral’s work with the vulnerable and marginalised and ensuring effective safeguarding.

£48,600 - £57,200 per year

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Senior People Partner to join our busy and supportive People and Culture team. In this role, you’ll work closely with leaders and managers across the charity, offering expert guidance on recruitment, reward, and employee relations—all while championing our commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing.

You’ll oversee our approach to talent attraction, ensuring every stage of the recruitment journey is inclusive, efficient and engaging. From managing senior-level hiring to partnering with executive search firms, you’ll play a central role in bringing great people into the charity. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Learning and Development, and Volunteering to shape and deliver a recruitment strategy that removes barriers for marginalised groups—particularly Black men—and improves representation across the charity.

You’ll manage and support our Recruitment Advisor, working together to continuously refine our recruitment tools, processes, and practices in line with our broader people strategy. In addition, you’ll coordinate the delivery of a fair, transparent, and financially sustainable reward framework that aligns with our organisational goals and supports our ambitions around equity and inclusion.

Beyond recruitment and reward, you’ll act as a trusted partner to senior leaders and managers, offering practical coaching and advice on complex employee relations issues and people management matters. You’ll help ensure a consistent, compassionate approach across the charity, and build managers’ confidence to inspire inclusive, high-performing teams.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Senior People Partner who will bring solid experience in HR and recruitment—whether through a CIPD or REC Level 4/5 qualification or equivalent hands-on experience. You’re passionate about people, motivated to make a difference, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

You’ll have in-depth knowledge of current employment legislation and best practice and experienced in building effective relationships with senior leaders, managers and employees, you’ll be skilled at managing complex employee relations cases. You’ll know how to approach people matters with fairness, care, and good judgement and is able to respond constructively to complex situations, supporting fair and balanced outcomes.

You’re someone who builds strong relationships quickly. Whether you’re coaching a manager, advising senior leaders, or supporting a colleague through change, you’re a trusted, approachable presence who communicates clearly and with integrity. Ideally, you’ll also have experience as a line manager.

You’ll have experience supporting recruitment from end to end and analysing recruitment data to spot trends and drive improvements. You’ll also have a good understanding of pay and reward, and how to make sure these approaches are fair, sustainable and aligned with an organisation’s goals.

PINF is the first charity in the UK that exists to support high-quality journalism. We exist at the cutting edge of charity law and need an experienced charity professional to make sure we do things properly. 

As Head of Operations & Governance, you will be responsible for overseeing the back-office operations of the charity. You will be a key point of contact for the team and support the Executive Director to ensure smooth, efficient and compliant operations.

You will be a senior member of the team, responsible for ensuring that PINF operates within its legal and regulatory framework, including in relation to charity, corporate, tax, employment and data protection regulations. The role involves liaising with the Chair, Board of Trustees, Executive Director, legal advisors and regulators to support best practice in financial management, governance, risk management and compliance.  

Duties and responsibilities 

• Financial Management 

• Ensure consistent delivery and quality of finance operations, including transactions processing, which will involve managing a bookkeeping service.

• Prepare and monitor annual budgets, management accounts and project budgets.

• Lead on the financial aspects of fundraising, contract management, and funder reporting. Including managing restricted and unrestricted funding. 

• Oversee the process of preparing statutory accounts, including liaising with accountants and auditors.

• Maintain internal controls and policies to protect assets, prevent fraud, and ensure business continuity. 

• Participate in the Finance & Fundraising Committee and support the Treasurer to plan and deliver meetings. 

• Prepare financial reports for board meetings and engage in board discussions.

• Governance 

• Manage our annual governance cycle, working closely with the Chair, Treasurer and Executive Director to ensure legal compliance and to plan and prepare for Board meetings including taking appropriate minutes.

• Manage the organisational risk framework including identifying emerging risks and working with the Executive Director to mitigate them.

• Companies House and Charity Commission filings.

• Develop and maintain a suite of policy to ensure PINF meets its obligations as a charity and an employer.

• Play an active part in board discussion to support good decision making.

• HR 

• Manage HR across the organisation; ensuring all HR processes and policies are fit for purpose, up to date and adhere to law, and are understood and implemented across the organisation.

• Manage recruitment processes for all staff.

• Manage the annual leave tracker. 

• Operations and administration 

• Ensure the smooth running of the organisation by leading operational planning and monitoring progress.

• Lead on relationships and contracts with external suppliers and contractors.

• Ensure PINF has appropriate insurance cover. 

• Occasional support with charitable activities (meetings, events, publications, etc.) 

Requirements  

• A professional qualification in finance, management, law, or a related field and at least five years’ experience relevant to this role.

• Deep understanding of good governance and best practice in the charity sector.

• Understanding of relevant laws relating to employment, data protection and running a charity. 

• Sympathy to the aims and objectives of PINF. 

• Full professional proficiency in English. 

• Right to work in the UK. 

Skills and attributes 

• Experience of managing charity finances and budgets (Essential). A related finance or accountancy qualification would be desirable. 

• Experience of managing operations in a comparable charity or business, with both strategic and day-to-day operational responsibilities. 

• Developing HR processes and policies and taking the lead in implementing these across an organisation. 

• Developing processes and procedures and making improvements for efficiency and impact. 

• Experience of working closely with trustees, non-executives or senior leadership teams.

• Strong oral and written communications skills, including having the confidence to use your expertise to provide feedback and constructive challenge to senior leaders.

• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills. 

• Ability to work remotely and independently and to collaborate with others. 

• Enjoy being the key point of contact and support in a small, remote team. 

• Ability to stay on top of your workload by using relevant software (including Microsoft Office and finance software such as Xero), keeping accurate and up-to-date records, and prioritising between competing tasks.
