The Diocese of Coventry is seeking a Strategic Programme and Change Director to drive the development and implementation of our strategic framework. They will play a crucial role in developing the programmes and projects needed to deliver to the key commitments and vision set out in Our Shared Future. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Bishop’s Strategy Integration Group, senior Diocesan staff, clergy and lay leaders across the Diocese.
The role holder will:
- Facilitate and co-ordinate the development of the diocese’s strategic plan, working closely with the Bishop’ Strategy Integration Group, senior clergy and lay leaders across the diocese.
- Oversight of the strategic programme governance framework, including the approach to effective planning, monitoring and delivery of the desired outcomes.
- Act as advisor to the Bishop’s Strategy Integration Group and Coventry Operational Leadership Team in helping to create a positive environment for change, demonstrating an understanding/sensitivity to the impact of proposed changes.
- Lead on the development and submission of funding applications for strategic programme work and ensure the Diocese resources National Church initiatives and programmes appropriately and structures project teams and delivery frameworks accordingly.

We are seeking a Direct Marketing Officer to join this team to manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns across our Regular Giving programme. This individual will be recruiting, retaining and upgrading regular donors to generate income through a variety of direct marketing methods such as direct dialogue, DRTV, digital, and direct mail. They will be encouraging regular monthly gifts or support via one of our main products such as general Regular Giving and Sponsorship, our Lottery, Value Exchange programme and other methods of committed giving as they arise.

Job Summary
The Haringey Community Alliance Manager is responsible for leading the development of the VCS Capacity Building strategy and the effective co-ordination of the Community Alliance team which includes a Communications and Engagement Officer, a Workplace Development Manager, and a Capacity Building Manager.
We envisage the Haringey Community Alliance Manager performing at either a primarily operational level or, for a more experienced candidate, at both operational and strategic levels. Strategically, the role would include a wider contribution to the strategic management and development of Public Voice, supporting the CEO as required. Role Summary
This position provides key support for the policy and research functions of the charity, in addition to collaborating on campaigns and public affairs work. About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Policy and Public Affairs team, during an election year, delivering a number of vital pieces of research designed to improve walking, wheeling and cycling and transport more broadly.
As the Policy Officer, you will lead on delivering two key policy projects for Sustrans with support from our Head of Policy and Senior Policy Officer. You will help develop evidence, policy and practice working closely with colleagues to maximise long-term opportunities to help increase transport choice for people.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications professional to join our team and support both the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King and the wider archdiocese in developing engaging communications and marketing our events and initiatives. It is an exciting time for the Cathedral as our retail and hospitality outlets are redeveloped. Based within the Communications and IT Team within the Chief Operating Officer’s Department you will support the sharing of the good news of the archdiocese both internally and externally within our parishes, with clergy, schools, officers and stakeholders. As a team we are focussed on growing and developing our existing platforms including our websites and social media channels, as well as supporting the Archbishop, our parishes, clergy and other departments with communication and marketing needs. This role will also lead on supporting the archdiocese in telling the story of the Cathedral, past, present and future and helping build the vision of the new Visitor Centre. We are seeking an experienced professional who can help us translate our vision and engage with our communities and visitors to our city. The successful post-holder will work between St Margaret Clitherow Centre and the Cathedral (2 days per week), with travel across the Archdiocese as required. Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. The ideal candidate will have responsibilities that include monitoring compliance with MAP’s financial and procurement policies, developing strong cash and treasury management policies, and managing financial accounting systems. You will also ensure timely and accurate preparation of annual statutory accounts, compliance with relevant accounting and legal requirements, and submission of necessary returns to regulatory bodies.
Duties and key responsibilities
Leadership, Collaboration & Line Management

Support the Director of Operations through preparation for and reporting to governance meetings.

Participate actively as a member of the Leadership Team.

Provide leadership, direction, training, and motivation as appropriate to the UK Finance Manager, and the overseas Finance Managers in conjunction with overseas Directors.
Finance Policy & Process Management
-
Be responsible for monitoring compliance with MAP’s financial and procurement policies and review and update these policies on a regular basis.

Develop and implement strong cash and treasury management policies and procedures.
-
Manage and develop all financial accounting systems in consultation with the Head of Reporting to ensure they are fit for purpose.

Help to ensure value for money and the effective use of funds across the organisation.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
-
Manage the ongoing relationships with the external auditors.
-
Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of the annual statutory accounts for the annual audit and implement recommendations from the auditors and/or Board.

Monitor institutional income and related contracts and ensure that all restricted income, including Zakat, is properly accounted for.

Ensure the financial management of MAP is compliant with relevant accounting, legal, HMRC and tax requirements, including VAT and corporation tax, and that the correct returns are made.

Submit the necessary returns and maintain our records with the Charity Commission and Companies House on a timely basis.
Cashflow & Bank Account Management

Manage the ongoing relationships with MAP’s banks in the UK.

Maintain UK bank accounts and ensure financial governance is in place for overseas bank accounts.

Ensure bank mandates and online banking operations are reviewed and updated on time.

Monitor and manage the organisation's cash flow to ensure there are sufficient currency funds to meet operational needs.

Review fund and payment requests from overseas offices and that planned activities are within budget.

Release all payments from UK bank accounts, including UK payroll.
Financial Controls

Implement appropriate internal controls, policies, and procedures to protect against fraud and misappropriation.

Oversee and manage all payroll budgets and forecasts.

Oversee the payroll functions, ensuring adequate internal controls and approvals are in place and adhered to, and all statutory requirements are met.

Ensure regular reconciliations are made between the accounting system and the CRM.

Oversee legacy administration liaising with the Legacy Advisor.
Risk Management

Risk management – manage strategic and operational financial risks working with the Head of Internal Audit & Compliance.

Maintain insurance policies across all MAP offices to ensure appropriate and adequate risk mitigation and meet statutory requirements.
Person Specification
Experience

Extensive experience in a finance leadership role within a complex charitable organisation, working internationally.

Experience of UK charity finance practice and governance - UK Charities SORP FRS 102.

Excellent technical knowledge and skills in accountancy principles, governance, and standards, including preparation of statutory accounts.

Successful track record of managing financial systems, and cashflow.

Experience of working in a multi-currency organisation.

Ability to contribute to the management of in-country finance colleagues, while not taking direct line-management responsibility for them.

Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Working with your line manager and where delegated, the Apprenticeship Outreach Programme Manager, to create bespoke events and short courses for potential apprentices.
- Building relationships with our Sixth Form learners through their 2 years at Ada and helping them prepare for the different stages of the apprenticeship application process.
- Linking apprenticeship opportunities to specific Sixth formers.
- Social media promotion: working with our marketing manager on SM campaigns to raise awareness of Ada’s short courses, partnerships with employers and open recruitment campaigns.
- Completing the legacy apprenticeship recruitment activity for Autumn 2024 and Spring 2025.
- Shortlisting Sixth Form candidates for any exclusive apprenticeship opportunities.
- Assisting the Sixth Form Outreach and Recruitment team with event planning, administration and delivery including outreach events (Careers Fairs, Open Days, Lift-off days, school visits to Ada and Keep Warm events. (This will involve commitment on some weekends and evenings during busy times.)

- Keeping accurate records, inputting data into Ada’s systems and exporting relevant information to produce reports and dashboards.
