The Ethical Property Foundation is the only dedicated property advice charity serving the UK voluntary sector. We support over 450 voluntary organisations p.a. with expert and independent property advice and education. We are currently seeking one or more self-employed Chartered Surveyors (or with an equivalent professional qualification), to augment our team and specifically, to assist us in delivering our affordable consultancy.
We are particularly looking for surveyors with an ability to think and report strategically or offer specialisms such as building surveying and planning.
Our Associate Property Advisers are all extraordinary people: senior property professionals. As part of this team, you will be assigned projects to lead on or supporting other members. You will use your communication skills to gain the trust of our clients, many of whom support vulnerable people in challenging circumstances, and empower them to expand their property knowledge and confidence. You will use your wide knowledge of the property sector to investigate/analyse client issues and develop suitable options and solutions. The projects you will deliver include property health checks, feasibility studies, options appraisals & development of client property strategies. Average project time allocation: between 4 – 5 days. There may be opportunities to deliver webinar training too.
Our clients support every kind of good cause and are responsible for every type of property. In the last 12 months, besides conventional office premises, we have advised on: church buildings, oast houses, former schools, industrial units, fields, warehouses, libraries, theatres, and mills.
Location: Flexible working from home. Projects will include client site visits in England, Wales and Scotland.

The post holder will also safeguard the financial integrity of the Society, its governance, and ensure it is fully compliant with all statutory requirements. The Society's Head Office is based near Stoneleigh in Warwickshire. Hybrid working is in place with 2-3 days per week required onsite.
Essential Criteria
- Fully Qualified Accountant
- Proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility across the whole finance function.
- Experience at a senior level as Company Secretary or equivalent
- Experienced in delivering finance system and/or ERP transformation
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop team members to their full potential.
- Demonstrated aptitude for strategic thinking, planning and analysis.
- Excellent financial planning, annual budgeting and forecasting skills
Desirable Criteria
- Charity sector experience particularly the nature of unrestricted, designated and restricted funds, VAT Partial Exemption, Gift Aid and the Charity SORP
- An understanding of education and qualification regulation and compliance
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

Reporting to a Senior Programme Manager, this is a pivotal post supporting quality protection interventions and multi-sectorial approaches across a range of humanitarian contexts, as well as supporting the scale up of Plan International UK’s Humanitarian work by ensuring effective programme design and implementation in collaboration with the unit and colleagues globally. The post holder will maintain an overview of the UK portfolio of PiE related projects and will identify priorities for further project development. You will also support the Humanitarian Unit to develop high quality quantitative and qualitative methods and participatory methodologies and tools to monitor programme quality for performance and results.
To be successful, you need to have significant experience of working in a range of humanitarian crises and providing PiE technical input to sector standards into the full project management cycle. The post holder needs to have experience of supporting PiE at a programmatic and organisational level, with a strong gender lens, including training delivery and upskilling teams. You will have solid stakeholder management skills including relevant donor relationship. You will have strong monitoring and evaluation background, with knowledge of approaches to measure changes related to PiE, including experience designing theories of change and advising on the selection of log frame indicators. It is desirable but not essential to have French, Arabic and/or Spanish language skills.

The Senior Accountant (Financial Control) post can be based in either the London or Manchester office. This role is in the central Financial Accounting and Control Team (FACT). In addition to being DCMS’ financial accounting Centre of Excellence, the team leads in the production of the consolidated accounts of the DCMS Group (with 34 of its 42 Arms Length Bodies directly consolidated) and manages the National Lottery Distribution Fund. Key responsibilities of the Senior Accountant (Financial Control) will include:
- Management and delivery of robust financial policies, controls, processes and systems.
