Build Up is a youth-led charity that designs and builds public spaces, supporting young people aged 10-25 years old to shape their local area. We’re looking for a Head of Income Generation to drive our fundraising strategy and secure significant investment for our youth-led projects.
The Role
This is an exciting new position in our team, created to help build our case for investment, tell our story and harness the support of new audiences. You’ll shape priorities, diversify income, and build lasting funder relationships – while writing compelling bids that win investment. With consultancy support on communications and evaluation, you’ll have the tools to make a powerful case for our work.

Alongside trusts and foundations, you’ll bring experience across other income streams (like corporates or major donors). We are looking for someone who has:
· Hands-on experience across key direct marketing channels such as digital (Lead Generation, Meta, Search, Display), telemarketing, face-to-face, and email.
· A strong understanding of regular giving, lottery and cash recruitment and how to optimise their performance.
· Confidence managing budgets and reporting to ensure campaigns deliver against targets.
· Experience collaborating with agencies and internal teams to create, deliver and evaluate integrated campaigns.

The charity is looking for an experienced fundraiser to lead the team across a period of maternity leave. The Individual Giving team look after donors across philanthropy, corporate, members and legators. Internally this role is called the Head of Individual Giving, the job title has been amended for this selection process to reflect the broader remit of the role beyond regular donors.
The post holder will, in conjunction with the Director of Development, set and embed Scottish Operas Individual Giving strategy and will personally solicit gifts and steward key donors, whilst supporting and overseeing the work of the Individual Giving team.
There are some fantastic projects in the works that Scottish Opera can use to engage donors, and there is brilliant internal buy in and understanding of fundraising. Income performance is strong, so there are solid foundations from which to test and trial new ideas.
This role has wide ranging appeal. Scottish Opera are happy to consider candidates for whom this role might be an exciting step up to managing multiple income streams beyond one specialist area, but equally this would be an engaging role for an experienced Head of looking to work in an exciting arts charity, taking their income success to the next level.

The Role

Fundraiser communications and events
- Act as first point of contact for individuals and organisations fundraising for the charity
- Record and track all fundraising events and activities, implementing communication plans to welcome, support, and thank participants
- Work with the Public Fundraising and Marketing Lead to build digital and automated onboarding and stewardship journeys for community fundraisers
- Oversee the delivery of excellent stewardship for community fundraisers through responsive support, proactive communication and effective use of automated journeys to enhance their experience and results
- Build strategies to maximise fundraiser income, including targets, incentives etc.
- Lead on the planning and execution of fundraising engagement events, optimising the on-site experience and income generation potential.
- Support and coordinate fundraising volunteers for key engagement events, building a stewardship programme across the year
Fundraising Operations
- Manage our major fundraising platforms (e.g. Just Giving) to ensure data accuracy and compliance
- Support the management of our legacy and in memory donations, delivering thoughtful and sensitive supporter communications
- Work with the Finance Manager on monthly direct debits and income reconciliation.
- Undertake research to identify new supporter, donor, trust/foundation and HNW prospects aligned with our mission
Logistics and Administration
- Maintain records of fundraising materials and merchandise, reordering stock as needed.
- Oversee the relationship with the fulfilment house to ensure smooth delivery of goods and supporter packs
- Track and manage auction items and raffle prizes, monitoring usage and income
- Support the delivery of key Race Against Dementia events, providing logistical support and ensuring excellent supporter experiences
- Maintain team calendars, campaign planners, and shared resources to support smooth team operations

The Role
As Development Manager - Major Gifts, you will be a senior member of the DARE team, responsible for generating philanthropic income to meet ambitious annual targets. Reporting to the Head of Major Gifts, you will:
- Manage a portfolio of high-value donors (individuals, trusts & foundations, corporates), personally soliciting gifts of £10,000+.
- Support the pipeline of mid-level prospects and help develop ultra-high-net-worth individuals for transformative gifts.
- Deliver against KPIs and income targets, contributing to our goal of growing major giving from £450,000 annually to £1 million within three years.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and academic leaders, producing compelling proposals and leading donor engagement.

About You
You will be an experienced and driven fundraiser with:
