Money Advice Caseworker - Equitable Debt Advice Project

Salary: NJC Salary Scale SO1 - £37,389 to £39,258 per annum

We are looking for an experienced money advice caseworker to join our friendly and hard-working team to deliver a high-quality debt advice service for local people in Southwark.

The Equitable Debt Advice Project is an innovative new multi-year project funded by Impact on Urban Health.

This role will provide in-depth debt advice casework and wrap around support for vulnerable local people, with the aim that it will lead to better and more sustainable outcomes. The intensive nature of the casework support provided will be reflected in the targets.

The project aims to target predominantly black and minority ethnic people who are in debt through developing partnerships with local groups and community organisations who serve these communities in Southwark.

You will have:

• Recent and ongoing paid or voluntary experience of managing your own caseload of money advice and income maximisation cases.
• Ability to write detailed up to date case notes, letters and reports as required in plain English.
• Ability to manage a challenging caseload, meet targets and prioritise work in the face of competing demands on your time.
• Ability to respond sensitively to clients from a variety of backgrounds who are under pressure and negotiate with third parties in order to minimise conflict.

Summary

The Lead Strategy and Impact Analyst plays a key role in developing practical, evidence-based policies that support effective mission and ministry approaches within the Church of England's Vision and Strategy priority areas.

About the role

In this role you will be a key member of the UK Young People and Families team. Delivering high quality administration support to enable the delivery of our amazing Young People and Families Service.  

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Experience providing administrative support to a team of staff and volunteers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Being a key contact for staff, partners, professionals, young people and referrals to our services 
• Able to support financial transactions and finance monitoring
• Organising service data and maintaining databases 
• Awareness and compliance with safeguarding procedures and GDPR requirements 
• Event planning and support 
• Supporting the services work in communities and on digital platforms 
• Compiling reports and creating new resources for the team

We are looking for a Specialist Housing IDVA

Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 depending on experience

Location: Hammersmith Head Office

Hours: 35 hours per week

Thursdays early shift (8am) and evening between 6-9pm on rota basis (approximately every 4-5 weeks)

About the role:

The Specialist Housing Advocate will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. This is a new and exciting service, and we are looking for someone passionate about ensuring that all survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe and appropriate accommodation which meets their needs.

To be successful as Specialist Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

This vital role will manage the billing and related administration of our Legal Aid Contracts in Housing Law, Family Law, and our Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service (HLPAS). The role will primarily focus on:-

• Managing the billing process for our Legal Aid contracts.
• Preparing case files for licensed work and inter partes billing
• Liaising with cost lawyers to ensure prompt preparation of licensed work billing & inter partes bills
• Facilitating the costs recovery process where costs have been awarded
• Preparing and submitting LAA returns for controlled work – Legal Help, HLPAS In Court Duty Scheme, HLPAS Early Legal advice and escape fee cases.

You will come with experience of preparing and processing legal aid billing and private billing; experience of using the Legal Aid Agency portal; excellent skills in IT; strong interpersonal skills and an ordered approach to your work.
