Job description

You’ve got an in-depth understanding of mental health issues and substantial experience of working in a Social Care setting. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Richmond Fellowship as a Service Manager.

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone.

Right now, we’re looking for someone like you to manage the day-to-day running of our Derby Life Links Peer and Recovery service. Here, we provide personalised, community based support for people living with mental ill health, tailoring our support to each individuals needs, preferences, strengths and aspirations. Central to our support is the belief that sustainable recovery is possible for everyone.

In this vital front line management role, you’ll be responsible for everything from the day‐to‐day management of service contracts and staff, through to client support. We’ll also rely on you to develop a service/location training and development plan and look after the service’s budget. Managing all aspects of risk will be important too, as will ensuring data entry onto our MI and reporting systems is accurate and timely. In short, you’ll do everything you can to make sure the quality of the service we provide is nothing less than exceptional.

To succeed, you’ll need significant knowledge and experience of working in mental health and undertaking risk assessments. You will be solution focused and outcome driven, with a firm but inclusive, open and encouraging management style, lots of tact and diplomacy and the ability to lead by example. We’ll also be looking for a flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to participate in an on call rota. Adept at managing conflicting demands and priorities, motivating staff and delegating work also comes naturally to you. And, if you have a relevant professional qualification to go with your impressive experience, even better.

The post-holder should have previous experience of working within mental health.

The salary for this role is £24,606.00 with potential progression up to £25,901.00 per annum.

This is a permanent role and will require the post-holder to work 37.5 hours per week.

Recovery Focus is committed to working towards equal opportunities and we select staff solely on merit irrespective of race, colour, national or ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, age, social class, religious belief, disability or history of mental health or addiction problems. If you need support to apply for the role or adaptions at interview please contact the recruitment team to discuss.

It is a mandatory requirement of the application process for this post that candidates submit a CV and Supporting Statement, thus only candidates that provide this, and who meet the essential criteria within the person specification,  will be considered for an interview.
