RLS Caseworker / Solicitor
As a RLS Caseworker / Solicitor you will conduct a small strategic caseload of asylum and refugee family reunion cases and assist on litigation (where eligible) under our legal aid contract to push for better decision-making, secure results for individuals and pursue improvements in the relevant law, policy and practices.
You will also act as the supervising caseworker/lawyer for the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative (APBI), which is a specialist casework project delivered by RLS with funding and pro bono assistance from 11 leading commercial law firms. As part of this role, you will supervise pro bono lawyers to provide high quality legal representation for Afghans on matters including family reunion, the ARAP scheme, the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme and others. The project is now in its 3rd year and won the Most Effective Pro Bono Partnership Award at the Law Works Pro Bono Awards in 2022 as well as being nominated and commended for numerous other awards in 2022 and 2023. Please note that RLS recognise that pro bono legal work is always an adjunct to, and not a substitute for, an adequate system of publicly funded legal services.
Key responsibilities
- Have conduct of a small strategic caseload and provide high quality legal advice and representation to clients

About the role
We are looking for a Programme Manager to lead on the management of our current programme activities in Somaliland and Zambia. The role will lead on the management of various grants/ projects within our Somaliland and Zambia partnerships as well as strengthening our partnership approaches in these two countries. The Role
You will drive the continuous improvement and impact of the UK-wide Stroke Group Network and community-based offers by cultivating strong relationships with volunteers and groups, working alongside groups and communities, and translating insights into targeted improvements that strengthen support for stroke survivors nationwide.
Group Network & Communities team lead the approach to supporting people affected by stroke to engage with a range of support within communities they identify with and support and empower a vast network of volunteers, a dynamic and inclusive community of over 400 stroke support groups nationwide.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensure community-based offers provide the best possible customer experience with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusion, aligned to Solving Inequity in Stroke approach.
- Drive forward a culture of coaching, shared learning, peer support and collaboration as a way of working.
- Work across teams and Directorates to ensure a joined-up approach to community engagement and development, including the delivery of cross-directorate spaces that facilitate shared learning, leading relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders.
About You
You will have a proven record of:
- Experience of working with volunteers, including the ability to coordinate, organise and deliver volunteer engagement events at scale or digitally
- Ability to take time to understand the context of our communities and groups, being approachable, and supporting thinking - always having people affected by stroke at the centre.
- Strong administration skills, with ability to develop and deliver effective processes.
- Ability to identify problems or opportunities where we can have more impact or add value for people affected by stroke, working with others to experiment and learn.

About the role
You will play a key role in driving the continuous improvement and growth of our national partnership through deepening the quality and impact of our local collaboration hubs. You will also oversee the day-to-day running of hubs of our schools and trusts, which includes holding responsibility for the operations of the Partnerships Team and working closely with the Partnership Lead to ensure that all hubs, schools and trusts have an excellent experience with Challenge Partners.

About the role:
You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.
This role is co-located within Charing Cross Hospital 4 days per week and 1 day per week at our office near Old Street.
You will:

Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Housing Support Worker to join our new Supported Housing Scheme in Lambeth, an LGBTQ+ supported housing service with six units for young people aged 18-21 years. The service is due to open in late May 2025 and is part of a three-year funded joint project with Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Association and Lambeth Council. The role is part of the Services team and is supervised by the Supported Housing Manager. Other members of the team include another part time Housing Support Worker and a part-time Youth Engagement Coordinator.

We have an exciting front-of-house role where the reception is the first point of contact within a leading youth charity that helps shape the lives of young people.

Salary: £13.85 per hour.
Hours: Saturday 09:30-14:30
Tuesday 11:30-15:30
Wednesday 09:00-14:00
Thursday 12:30-15:30
Contract: Part-time
About the role:
This is an exciting front-of-house role. As receptionist you will be responsible for greeting every young person as they arrive and ensuring they leave safely. You will also be responsible for the reception area: ensuring young people enter the session smoothly; processing new members; directing phone calls and enquiries; maintaining the membership database efficiently; and carrying out regular communication.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining the reception area and provide a welcoming environment
- Ensure new members are welcomed and introduced to a member of the youth work team
- Overseeing in-depth database management, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and reporting to support operational needs
- Ensure Junior members leave sessions safely in the care of parents
- Ensure visitors comply with health and safety requirements and child protection/safeguarding procedures
- Deal with telephone enquiries, take and relay messages, screen, and direct calls
- Enter new members on to the membership database and collect entrance fees
- Ensure that any administration and paperwork is up to date
- Maintain the meeting room calendar
- Keep records up to date related to attendance, trips, events, and meetings
- Administer First Aid in line with procedures (if you are not currently First Aid-qualified, training will be provided)

You will be someone with a clear ‘can do’ approach, committed to a growth mindset, eager to learn, and willing to take risks all for the benefit of supporting young people. You will demonstrate the organisation’s values through all you do and will commit to giving your best every session for young people.
You will also need to bring with you the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in managing or supervising a reception desk or entrance point
- Working in a customer-facing environment and dealing with the public
- The ability to engage with all types of people from young people, community members, and colleagues to official visitors and Board Directors
- The ability to diffuse pressurised situations while remaining calm and in control
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail, thorough and organised
Although not essential previous experience of working with young people and a knowledge of the issues which affect them would be beneficial. As would experience of using a membership system or database.
