Job Description

As the Marketing & Communications Officer, you will be the driving force behind the day-to-day delivery of our marketing and communications activity. Working alongside the Marketing & Communications Manager, you'll be part of a small, ambitious team that delivers high-quality marketing and communications with creativity, pace and purpose. Your primary focus will be creating engaging content, managing our digital channels and delivering campaigns that increase footfall and raise the profile of Cambridge Science Centre.

This role requires an agile, proactive generalist who enjoys turning ideas into action, taking ownership of everything from social media and web updates to print production, paid promotions and promotional events. Whilst the Marketing & Communications Manager leads longer-term strategic priorities, you'll work together to build the infrastructure that underpins a high-performing function, including asset libraries, streamlined workflows and efficient processes.

Your work will be fundamental to helping more people discover and engage repeatedly with Cambridge Science Centre. Through an audience-focused, data-informed approach, you'll promote our visitor centres in Cambridge and Wisbech, increasing footfall while creating compelling content that inspires families, schools, funders and corporate partners.

Success in this role will depend on building strong relationships across the organisation and working collaboratively with managers, engagement teams and external freelancers to bring campaigns to life. Development opportunities will open in tandem with the Charity’s growth, with the potential to explore strategic planning, campaign development, media relations, and community outreach in the future.

Key Responsibilities

1. Channel Management & Content Delivery

● Plan, create and schedule organic content to drive engagement on social channels, primarily Meta and LinkedIn

● Set up and monitor paid digital and social advertising campaigns, tracking growth metrics

● Keep the WordPress website up to date by refreshing copy, uploading news, and optimising pages

● Coordinate, write, and distribute email newsletters tailored to families, schools and corporate partners

● Maintain online and print placements to maximise reach and organisational awareness

● Support communications cascades, tracking and logging regional press, media and other profile-raising coverage

2. Campaign Execution & Production Coordination

● Execute advertising campaigns to maximise footfall at our Cambridge and Wisbech Centres during seasonal peaks and holidays

● Capture, edit and organise photo and video content to build media library

● Collaborate with internal delivery teams to identify opportunities that illustrate impact, working with stakeholders to form compelling content

● Design basic assets on Canva and liaise with external freelancers on advanced artwork/video

● Ensure marketing materials and content align with strategy and values, maintaining brand consistency and ensuring time and cost efficiency

● Manage the print pipeline of physical marketing assets (leaflets, banners, posters, flags etc), managing the process from design to delivery and maintaining quality and stock levels

3. Operational Infrastructure & Project Support

● Assist the Manager in researching, setting up, and rolling out processes and systems that ensure consistency and efficiency

● Organise and label media assets in compliance with necessary consent and GDPR requirements

● Provide communications and marketing support to delivery, programme, community and business support teams

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

● Experience: At least 2–3 years working in a marketing, communications, or digital content role with responsibility for advertising campaigns

● Copywriting: Excellent written communication skills, able to adapt tone across formats (website blogs, social media posts, emails) for diverse audiences

● Social Media: Hands-on experience managing social media channels with a focus on authentic, human-centric engagement

● Digital Tools: Experience running paid social media ads and executing segmented email marketing campaigns

● Platform literacy: Comfortable using WordPress (CMS) and basic design software like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite

● Data & Analytics: Familiarity with Google Analytics or social media native insights to interpret campaign performance

● Organisation: Exceptionally organised, flexible, and comfortable prioritising tasks in a fast-paced environment

● Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate with internal colleagues, external freelancers and corporate partners

● Approach: Personable and energetic with a genuine enthusiasm for people and community engagement and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Desirable Criteria

● Education/Training: Formally trained in marketing with a solid understanding of core principles and best practices across digital and traditional channels

● Multi-media Skills: Basic video editing experience using tools like CapCut, iMovie or similar mobile/desktop video software

This role is central to strengthening and connecting Carers Trust’s organisational networks across the UK. Through the delivery of clear, consistent and engaging communications, the Communications & Engagement Officer will help members stay informed about opportunities, resources and developments across the network, while promoting collaboration and the sharing of learning and good practice.

Working within the Network Development Team and closely alongside colleagues in Communications and Marketing, the postholder will coordinate network communications across a range of channels and audiences, helping to increase engagement with Carers Trust’s membership offers and strengthen connections between member organisations.

As the postholder you will:

• Work with subject-matter leads across Carers Trust to translate technical or organisational information into accessible, engaging content for different audiences across Carers Trust’s networks.
• Develop and implement engagement plans to promote partner participation in learning, research, campaigns or development initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of toolkits, guides and resources that support members in delivering high-quality services and in relation to identified capacity building needs.

Communications 

• Prepare and maintain an annual comms timeline – including key celebratory or significant events for example mental health week, volunteer day etc ensuring that the Trust is maximising coverage across these key dates in the year;  

• Maintain the annual events calendar – work with programme leads to ensure events are being covered by comms; 

• Coordinate, collate and support with the preparation, completion and delivery of the ST newsletter – distribute via Mailchimp and oversee staff hard copy delivery;  

• Day to day social media, liaising with Programme leads for engaging content; 

• Monitor and ensure the website content is updated as needed; 

• Prepare Board report on Comms; 

• Be main contact for and oversee workstream with our Graphic Designer; 

• Write PR materials as needed;

Data Management and Reporting

• Oversight of data requirements per programme and extraction of headline data information for board reports and general funding bids and reports;

Programme Administration 

• Maintain and update contracts and grants master spreadsheet; 

• Preparing paperwork for new contracts and grants agreements; 

• Prepare and issue contract invoices using Xero accounting system; 

• Monitor payment schedule using Xero and update SLT; 

• Coordinate with accountants when contract invoicing is linked to monthly payroll; 

• Planning and set up of new programmes. Supporting staff to launch programmes according to contract funding; 

• Management of core support across delivery programmes including but not limited to advice and assistance, baby buddies, group programmes etc;

Job Requirements 

Our work is place-based, and people focused. To be responsive to the community and to be able to support Shoreditch Trust activities, we do not offer remote working contracts. You will need to be flexible, working some evenings and weekends. Hours will be agreed on a mutually beneficial basis in line with planned activities. You will be expected to attend organisational meetings, events and clinical supervision.

The Community Engagement & Support role is about providing greater sustainability and resilience for the Fahr’s Disease community and Fahr Beyond as a charity. The post holder will be building the capacity for Fahr Beyond to provide support for people living with Fahr’s and their families through creating a volunteer network that can provide an ongoing fortnightly support group. Additionally, through working with other organisations, the post holder will develop more support pathways and opportunities for patients; this is envisioned as strategic work within the Parkinson’s and Dementia space.

This post will also play a key role in bridging Fahr Beyond’s work with the community and medical professionals to develop awareness of Fahr’s Disease.  

What will you do in the role?

Volunteer Mobilisation & Management

• Support the development of a volunteer strategy for Fahr Beyond
• Actively manage the establishment of a volunteer network utilising prior expressions of interest, and you will support the onboarding of volunteers
• The main point of contact for volunteers and help resolve matters they may have

Engagement & Communication

• Monitor and respond to incoming correspondence to Fahr Beyond, along with assigning any actions for response to the appropriate volunteer
• Support the trustees and volunteers with managing Fahr Beyond’s social media
• Work with Fahr Beyond volunteers to ensure that Fahr Beyond maintains regular communications with patients, medical professionals, and key partners

Project & Event Management

This role sits within Mind's information content team. Our purpose is to empower people to make informed choices, to understand their rights, and to live with and recover from mental health problems. We do this by creating high-quality, person-centred information. We produce and maintain all the mental health information on Mind's website, and in print.

Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

As Information Officer, you'll be responsible for creating mental health content for our website and print materials.

You'll be part of a team of Information Officers writing information resources for people experiencing mental health problems. You'll help ensure that our information content is accurate, accessible and meets Mind's guidelines.

You'll also support other teams within Mind to ensure they have access to reliable information. This includes offering support and occasional training to Mind's Infoline and online peer support community.

Key Responsibilities

Producing mental health information

-To research, write and create mental health information, and to update existing resources, working closely with Mind's Editorial team.

-To make sure that our information reflects people's lived experiences of mental health problems and treatments, and to include their voices in our content.

-To follow good practice in information production, specifically adhering to criteria for compliance with the PIF Tick accreditation requirements.

-To help plan and develop Mind's information offer, carrying out research and making recommendations on planned publications.

-To keep an up-to-date knowledge about mental health, including clinical research, academic studies, media coverage, statistics, and the lived experiences of people with mental health problems and users of mental health services.

-To attend external training and conferences on mental health topics.

-To support multimedia projects in the Information team, including supporting the making of videos and podcasts.

Training and supporting other teams within Mind

-To respond to enquiries from Mind staff and networks in an efficient and professional manner.

-To assist with the development and delivery of training on specific mental health topics and the Information team's services for Infoline advisers and Mind staff.

The Executive Assistant to the CEO role involves:

• Coordinating and maintaining the CEO's diary including organising all appointments, meetings and travel arrangements.
• Identifying, anticipating and preparing CEO information requirements for meetings, appointments and presentations, following up on internal and external requests for information.

With its new 2027-2029 strategy about to launch, the Foundation has ambitious plans for the future, including deeper operational involvement in some of its flagship partnerships and supporting well-evidenced, high intensity interventions that ensure fair access to tech-enabled opportunities at a time of AI transition. 

In line with this new strategy, the Foundation are working with a co-funder on designing a multi-million pound Fund, set to launch in autumn 2026, that would fund 4-5 UK-based programmes helping low-income non-graduates secure tech jobs. As well as supporting programmes, the Fund will generate research evidence on the tech hiring landscape and implications for social mobility, as well as evidence on which programmes are most effective at securing jobs. 

To support these plans, the Foundation is expanding its team to include a new Programme Officer and seeking someone eager to begin or advance their career in the non-profit sector. This newly created role at The Hg Foundation will provide essential support to our Portfolio Leads for Employability and offers an excellent opportunity for professional development in the foundation space.  The role is funded for three years initially.

About the role

Cardiomyopathy UK's Director of Research and External Affairs leads the charity's research, policy and advocacy, and communications and marketing functions, with a team of four staff. The post-holder sets the strategic direction of the directorate, drives high-quality delivery,  upholds the charity's values, and represents the charity externally. The Director is a member of the charity's Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO to steer the charity forward. 

For the right person, this is an opportunity with real strategic scope. We want to build on our strong policy positions and evidence base and translate them into more proactive campaigning and influencing, moving from good policy thinking to concerted public affairs activity, strategic stakeholder engagement, and campaigns that achieve real change. 

The Director will also lead the next phase of our research work, following our inaugural research grant-funding activity and James Lind Alliance top ten work. They will work with the Research Manager and our clinical and academic partners to better define and deliver our ambitions.

Raising awareness of cardiomyopathy, its signs, symptoms and genetic risk, is also within the team's scope. Too many people are still diagnosed late because neither they nor their GP knew what to look for. The Director will drive our communications and marketing agenda purposefully, equally ensuring the charity’s external profile is actively managed and enhanced.

They will have strong strategic, analytical and planning skills, with the ability to develop coherent strategies. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our operations team, someone with a strong financial background with excellent attention to detail, a flexible attitude, an ability to work effectively under their own initiative and as part of a small team, together with excellent organisation and administrative skills.

Effective financial control is central to our strategy and operating model. The finance officer plays an essential role in maintaining control over our finances and operations. You will process and monitor financial transactions, liaise with our payroll bureau regarding staff payroll and pensions and support the Head of finance. You will be experienced in using Dynamics 365 Business Central as an accounting system.

This is a part-time role for two days a week (0.4FTE), with flexibility about when the hours are worked. It's a hybrid role, working from home and from our office. You will report to our Head of finance. You will also work with all staff on financial matters including personal and credit card expenses, central and project income and expenditure, and processing of payroll by liaising with our external bureau.

Job purpose:

 The postholder will provide public affairs and policy support for the Association’s Advocacy and Campaigns programme as key elements in the Association’s strategic plan.

This role is based at our head office in 21 Portland Place, London. We offer a hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.

Key responsibilities:

•  Assist the organisation with developing its external voice by responding to policy developments and parliamentary opportunities, bringing together members’ views, evidence and information.
• Monitor relevant parliamentary business and produce short summaries of events where appropriate.
• Track the progress of relevant legislation, committee inquiries and consultations.
• Develop briefings and position statements setting out the Association’s views on issues relevant to membership, that support the advocacy and campaigns work and topical issues.
• Prepare briefings in advance of, and attend, where appropriate, meetings with key stakeholders and organise meetings when required.
• Assist with the developing and updating of stakeholder maps and spreadsheets.
• Assist with the development of campaigns by carrying out research and producing supporting briefings.
• Support the Head of Public Affairs and Policy with producing responses to consultations and policy developments, following up on finalised responses and taking forward related actions.
• Produce statements, latest news updates and contributions to the Association’s publications that promote the policy, advocacy and campaigns work.
• Encourage member engagement on relevant policy issues and campaigns via the Association’s website and other online and offline communication tools.
• Build strategic relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to facilitate collaborative working on priority campaign areas.
• Work with the Digital Content Team to make sure the website and social media are kept up to date with current policy developments and announcements

Job purpose: Provide a range of administration services to enable the Trust to operate its day-to-day activities, management and governance processes effectively.

Roles and responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the job are:

· Provide administrative support to the Programme Manager, Trustees and Youth Board 

· Provide general administrative support across the Trust, including scheduling meetings, administering our Microsoft 365 system, helping to produce reports/ letters, managing emails, facilitating in-house communication, managing our records, research, and other general duties

· Assist implementation of the Trust’s charitable programmes e.g., by providing administration support to project teams and organising promotional activities.

About You

Bowel Research UK is looking for a permanent Research and Grants Manager to coordinate and evaluate the management of the charity’s research activities.
