We need a new Director of Communications.  You’ll be responsible for helping us communicate the Gospel and the great work we do in our communities, and telling the good news stories that encourage and inspire us as we embark on our strategy to deliver the Diocesan vision to “bless the 1.5 million people” in our diocese who currently have no meaningful connection with our worshipping communities.  We need someone who can catalyse everyone in the diocese to be better communicators.

The successful candidate will have a wide-ranging experience of communication matters with the ability to promote our work in a positive and strategic manner, and manage media relations proactively and effectively.

The post is based at Church House, Daresbury, with some travel around the Diocese and the option for hybrid working with up to 40% working from home. A full driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Salary: £51,515 - £55,692 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience.

The Hepatitis C Trust develops projects nationally where peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C to support people who have similar backgrounds. 

Working collaboratively with the local Substance Misuse Service in Liverpool, we are expanding this commitment through the introduction of a Harm Reduction Peer Support Lead to support the delivery of a peer led Harm Reduction service in this area.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work on their own, engage with stakeholders and have a desire to make a difference through the delivery of the service. The postholder will be responsible for recruiting and supervising peers with lived experience and facilitating primary and secondary needle and syringe distribution across the area.

The post holder will help to champion and manage the PAPYRUS brand and support the delivery of our projects and services through developing engaging and targeted content. They will act as the day-to-day lead on our social media planning and scheduling, as well as blog writing and storytelling.

What you will do:

Lead on the PAPYRUS social media planning and scheduling, utilising a social media management suite such as Hootsuite, or similar.

Support the day to day running of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and YouTube), using these to promote our services, increase brand awareness and drive engagement with our audiences;

Lead on maintaining and creating content for the PAPYRUS website and blog, collating stories from people with lived experience of suicide, as well as other charity staff and stakeholders.

Develop the charity’s online presence by exploring new opportunities and channels to appeal to different audiences;

Produce creative designs and artwork for print and digital requirements, utilising in-house design tools and software (including Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva);

To be successful in this role you will have:

Social media marketing campaign experience

A natural flair for storytelling, with the ability to create compelling, informative written content promoting the voices of lived experience.

Role Requirements

The post holder will line manage the charity’s Shop Managers, supporting them to achieve agreed income targets. Working with colleagues, this role will also be responsible for proposing and then implementing new business initiatives, such as pop-up opportunities, niche offers and promoting online sales within the team as well as monitoring expenditure in line with budget expectations.

The Access Foundation wants to fund projects and activities that make a real difference to people’s lives in the countries the Access group is active.To achieve our objectives, we are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to help run and improve our operational processes.

Job objectives 

• Support the trustees in the due diligence and evaluation of each applicant and facilitate the decision-making process for each application 

• Support the ongoing evaluation process of all successful applicants and ensure agreed measures and outcomes are reported back to the Foundation in a timely manner

Duties and responsibilities will include

• Liase with the Access Marketing team to support their own comms 

• Ensure financial accounts are accurate and complete 

• Liase with 3rd parties such as external suppliers and partners ranging from auditors to our financial partners 

• Draft Offer letters for the successful applicants 

• Recruit, Manage and Appraise the Admin and Grant Assistant

• Attend trustees, volunteers and applications meetings

Skills and Experience Required

Head to Toe, the charity of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), has been awarded a 3-year grant to support patients receiving end of life care. This is a partnership between Head to Toe, CPFT voluntary services,  NHS community nursing teams, and charity end of life volunteering specialists, the Anne Robson Trust.

Working alongside healthcare services, you will co-ordinate a group of compassionate, dedicated volunteers, who will support members of their local community in the last months of life, providing company, comfort and companionship to patients across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

You may have experience in similar projects, or come from a clinical background, but will understand and champion the role of volunteers in enhancing NHS services and patient experiences. You will be passionate about this type of work, and understand the importance of helping people to have a 'good' death.

The successful candidate will need experience within volunteer administration in addition to excellent organisational, communication and networking skills. Bespoke training will be provided by the Anne Robson Trust, as well as ongoing support to help the post-holder recruit and train volunteers.

The Butterfly Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the development, implementation, and scale of the Community Butterfly Volunteer Service, which can bring huge benefits to patients, staff, volunteers, and our local communities. You will have day to day responsibility for the recruitment, interview, selection, training and management of Butterfly Volunteers.

The post requires a flexible approach with hybrid working, with travel across the region, attending in-person meetings and events. Due to the nature of volunteer recruitment this will include occasional evening and weekend work.

This project will be supporting patients and their families on their journey through end of life care, and will require compassion, dedication and an ability to navigate difficult situations sensitively. 

Purpose of the Role

The Digital Marketing Manager will implement and help develop a new digital marketing strategy, crucial to the ongoing development of ArtsEd’s profile and reputation and the successful delivery of all our programmes.

Understanding the needs of current and prospective students and pupils and their parents, and being able to identify digital plans and initiatives which will enable ArtsEd to meet both the long and short-term needs is a central aspect of the role.

The Digital Marketing Manager will lead in the planning and implementation of digitally creative and customer focused campaigns and will be responsible for the achievement of student and pupil recruitment targets. They will work closely with senior staff and the rest of the Marketing team to deliver highly effective experiences to all stakeholders and potential stakeholders.

The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for the continuing development of ArtsEd’s online profile amongst all of our target audiences, including high-level industry connections, potential supporters and the local community, alongside potential students, pupils and parents.

In addition, the Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for ensuring that ArtsEd’s messaging is consistent, innovative and compelling across all platforms.

Digital Marketing

• Plan and execute digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, email, social media and display advertising campaigns in collaboration with the wider marketing team.
• Use digital marketing expertise to create effective user funnels to optimise conversion rates, tracking user behaviour in order to refine processes.

• Collaborate closely with staff across the organisation to identify storytelling opportunities to ensure a full understanding of ArtsEd’s broad range of target audiences.

• Set up digital advertising campaigns through Meta, Google Ads and other platforms

• Utilise excellent graphic design skills to collaborate with the team on the design and delivery of different digital campaigns for all stakeholder groups. This will include mass e-mails, social media posts and digital collateral as required.

Design & Brand

• Be a guardian of the ArtsEd brand, ensuring correct and effective use of our branding and house style both internally and externally.

• Lead on the implementation and delivery of a robust digital marketing strategy to optimise student and pupil recruitment across the whole organisation. This will include:
• Building on existing digital activity to maximise its reach and impact against all of our target audiences, including digital and associated print advertising.
• Managing an associated  programme of recruitment focused events and activities, both virtual and face-to-face, to raise our profile and to maximise our enquires, registrations, applications and acceptances across all of our activities.

Summary of duties: 

Our Communications and Engagement Officer will lead on the work of our new Community Hub project and promote all the great things that CfD does e.g. the events and activities as part of our Deaf People Together project.  The post holder will be based at The Vassall Centre, Gill Avenue, Fishponds, Bristol BS16 2QQ. 

This is an exciting opportunity to help CfD improve our communications, and to support the Deaf Community and hard of hearing people throughout Bristol with managing and sharing their information.  You will work with Deaf and hard of hearing people by providing the training, tools, and resources to enable them to create their own information materials that can be shared with the community. 

You will be responsible for developing and uploading website content, creating marketing material, use of social media and other communications platforms to help deliver the aims of our Community Hub project and to increase our community engagement and profile.  You will also lead on commissioning a redesign of our website. 

You will also have a role in supporting our Community Development Officer to arrange and publicise events. 

You will use your time in this way: 

• Half of your time on the Community Hub Project; 

• About a day a week supporting our Community Development Officer; 

• The rest of your time on promoting other projects and developing the CfD website. 

This is a role for a creative individual who is well organised and is proactive, who has the ambition to develop and deliver fun, engaging, and effective accessible communication. 

The main responsibilities are to: 

Community Hub 

1. Provide training for and support deaf volunteers to improve CfD’s capacity to produce and share relevant community information from across Bristol. You will organise workshops for deaf people to develop their skills in video and media technology to produce accessible content. 

1. Develop a virtual information hub, where information on CfD events and other activities in Bristol will be fully accessible to all deaf people, using CfD’s website, social media, apps, and newsletters. 

1. Support deaf people with producing their own newsletters using BSL and subtitles. Our aim is to have a regular newsletter that is produced and managed by deaf people. 

1. Develop a CfD “newsround” – a regular video round-up of events, news, and information of interest to deaf people. 

1. Work with 4 Community Hubs in Bristol to increase their accessibility for and engagement with deaf people in their neighbourhoods, and to increase their understanding of how to include deaf people in activities. This work will include collaborating to deliver deaf-focused events. 

Communications 

1. Support other projects at CfD with information dissemination, and media and communications, such as creating posters, video production, posting on social media, and basic updates on our website.

1. Improve the quality and reach of information that CfD sends out e.g. using other social media platforms. 

1. Support the CFD Community Development Officer by arranging and promoting events. 

1. Ensure compliance across all media with CfD’s brand guidelines. 

1. Lead on reviewing the CfD website and commissioning a new design. 

1. Coordinate any media enquiries. 

1. Collect data to analyse and evaluate the impact of the role. 

General 

1. Attend conferences, training, and other staff development opportunities.  

1. Develop an agreed personal training plan and carry this out using internal and external training as required.

• Ability to create high-quality communications material and to engage with a variety of audiences. 

• Experience of social media management and familiarity with evolving and new digital media platforms.

 Hours:  Currently 30 hours per week for full pay during a pilot of working a shorter week ending July 2024. (In some organisations this is the 4 day week but at WBG, 30 hours can be worked over 4 or 5 days per week with flexibility). In the event that the shorter working week does not become permanent, hours will be negotiable between 30 hours and 37.5 hours per week. We are happy to consider flexible working arrangements and invite job share applications. Some out of hours working will be required for which TOIL will be given.

Location: Hybrid London / remote.  The postholder must be resident in the UK with the right to work in the UK. Office is in Vauxhall, London. Post can be worked as office based or a mixture of office/remote working with at least two days per week in the office.

Duration: 18 month contract with potential to extend subject to funding.

Salary: £36,288 pro-rata (£29,030 for 30 hours) plus 5% pension contributions.

Voluntary Action Harrow is looking for a Health Inequalities & Community Engagement Officer to work within our Stronger Communities team. Stronger Communities aims to remove barriers to accessing healthcare, increase community engagement and co-production and reduce health inequalities in the borough of Harrow. We are particularly interested in increasing engagement from communities in deprived areas and encouraging applications from those who might be under-represented in our work.

Responsibilities

• To create and share accessible information resources for community groups and individuals.
• To manage and update social media channels and our easy-to-use website, creating accessible graphics that help promote the work we are doing.
• To deliver and attend community events, aiming to raise awareness about health issues and making sure communities have access to accurate information.
• To carry out light-touch research, so we are able to feed-back the views of communities to policymakers. .
• To develop positive working relationships and clear communication with other local voluntary & community sector (VCS) organisations and healthcare providers.
• To help other VCS organisations improve awareness and engagement of health inequalities and disparities.
• To organise and support representation at community meetings, forums and networks, encouraging attendance.
• To develop and deliver on-the-ground awareness, focusing on areas with high footfall, such as train stations, supermarkets etc.

Who are we?

Voluntary Action Harrow Co-operative work with the local community providing information, training and guidance.

Based in Harrow, we are a not-for-profit co-operative owned by our workers. We have in-depth knowledge of the local area and of who’s doing what. Our members collectively have over 35 years’ experience in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, specialising in capacity building in a variety of different organisational development areas.

We’ve worked with a diverse range of local organisations, from small community groups, to regional and international charities. We also run, manage and co-ordinate projects, working with local people and groups to help them make a difference in their local community.

Sanctuary Breaks is a new charity based in Stroud District, Gloucestershire, set up to welcome refugees and people seeking asylum to rural areas in the county, and enable social and cultural exchange between refugees and the resident population, especially with a view to supporting mental health. Your job would be to develop this charity, and increase refugee and asylum seeker opportunities for leisure, engagement and inclusion in the life of the area.

Organisational Development

Project development
Work with partners and volunteers to enable two or more rural  Sanctuary Breaks per month (events, day trips or residential visits) 
Develop a system of evaluation to demonstrate the impact of the services that the charity is providing, with particular reference to mental health and wellbeing. 
Maintain and further develop partnerships with refugee sector agencies in the target areas, 
Network with local individuals and community groups and create partnerships as needed to promote a welcome for people seeking sanctuary in the area
Recruit and support volunteers to deliver the service
Lead on publicity and communications to promote the service, including regular newsletter and social media posts 
Develop ideas for and support cultural and fundraising events

Administrative tasks
Maintain the calendar of events and bookings and work with HHR CIC to coordinate bookings of the house between Sanctuary Breaks and trading income activities

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. You will play an integral role in communicating our work as widely as possible and improving and increasing engagement with our supporters, including our members, donors and corporate partners.

The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). They will report to the Director of Development and Head of Communications.

We want someone who can learn and grow in this role so if you don’t have every skill listed but are organised, motivated, and interested in our work then we want to hear from you.

The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional.
