We receive no government funding and it is only thanks to the generosity of our supporters that vital life changing, life-saving neurological research can be funded.

We are a well-established charity that has recently launched a new strategy to accelerate the progress and funding of neurological research.  This is a new role.  As a small and ambitious charity, we are seeking someone who is keen to join a small growing team and develop their skills and career within a vibrant, positive organisation.

The role

Reporting to the Events and Community Fundraising Manager, you will play a key role as part of the Fundraising Team by providing the highest levels of fundraising and event administration support to ensure the provision of seamless, excellent supporter care and assistance to our supporters.  Specific fundraising streams will include, but not be limited to, London Marathon, Other Runs and Challenges, Community Fundraising, Special Events and other streams as needed.

Whilst this role is primarily providing administrative and stewardship support for fundraising and event activities, there will be opportunities to be involved with all other aspects of the charity and the development of future fundraising initiatives and events.

The successful candidate will need to be a good team player, able to work independently; flexible; hard working and prepared to play an enthusiastic role in helping to deliver excellent supporter care and increased fundraising income. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

In this position you will:

· Be a primary contact point for our London Marathon runners to provide excellent customer care and increase fundraising potential

· Answer general public and supporter enquiries that come in by telephone, email, social media and WhatsApp groups and mail in a way that makes them feel important and valued regardless of the nature of their enquiry

· Assist with the processing of all income (cash, cheques, online platform donations)  correctly into the Donorfy database, and thank or pass to relevant team members for thanking in a timely manner

· Record as necessary enquiries, correspondence and responses on our Donorfy database

· Be a primary point of contact for our Challenge Event fundraisers.  Build excellent relationships with them and provide materials and support, liaising before, during and following their activity/event as needed

· To work with the team to provide support for key fundraising activities such as the London Marathon and other challenge and running events.  This will include assisting with event administration, proactively making telephone calls in response to applications for places in London Marathon and to encourage fundraising, answering telephone calls, responding to emails WhatsApp and Facebook messages, thanking participants, sending materials to participants and updating records on Donorfy

· Monitoring Social Media and assisting with providing content for these channels/platforms

· Communications support: this may include contributing content for appeals, website and enewsletters and will include monitoring stewardship schedules and deadlines where needed

· Act as liaison for BRUK’s administration where needed with our fulfilment house and/or other suppliers

· Liaise with finance and/or Head of Fundraising as required

Person specification

It is essential that you have at least 12–15 months experience of working within the Third Sector in a supporter care and/or fundraising event administrative role

It is essential that you have the following skills:

· Supporter care – must be able to provide our supporters and the general public with excellent customer service both written and over the phone

· Time management – you must be able to effectively manage your time and workload

· Attention to detail -  you must be able to consistently produce accurate work

· IT literacy – you must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and, ideally, PowerPoint

· Familiarity with the use of social media

· Experience of using a CRM database

My Life My Choice (MLMC) is a multi-award-winning self-advocacy charity uniquely run by and for people with learning disabilities, founded in 1998.  The charity delivers a diverse range of innovative user led projects that enhance and empower the lives of adults with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire.  These established projects include a fee earning training and consultancy Professional Services team, gig buddy, travel buddy scheme, a nightclub, campaigns and self-advocacy groups.

The LSO Development department is looking for a knowledgeable and self-motivated individual to join our team as Trusts & Foundations Officer at an exciting time in the LSO’s history. Reporting to the Trusts & Foundations Manager, the role will primarily work within the Trusts and Foundations team to establish and maintain relationships with grant-giving bodies to help meet and grow income targets. About you

Experience in fundraising from trusts, foundations and other grant-giving bodies is essential for this role, alongside strong communication skills, high attention to detail and a passion for creating concise and compelling written copy.  An interest in orchestral/classical music is desirable.

The Trusts & Foundations Officer will also support the wider fundraising of the Department, helping to steward current and potential supporters at concerts, special events, and LSO Discovery projects taking place across east London.

About the Role

As Senior Stewardship and Events Manager, you will be leading on the creation of ambitious funding propositions which will be attractive to high value donors and funders, working with key stakeholders from across the organisation to fully understand our existing services and transformational projects; translating complex information into compelling cases for support to be used by our High Value Partnerships team in funding applications, pitches and proposals. You will work closely with Recovery Services, Data and Insights and Finance teams to ensure all relevant information is gathered and reporting and evaluation processes are in place.

Working with your team and the wider High Value Partnerships team you will develop a special events programme to support engagement and fundraising, as well as leading on the development of developing engaging and relevant donor and prospect communications. You will work alongside the High Value Events Officer and other High Value Partnerships Senior Managers to conceptualise, plan and deliver a range of event types, offering a variety of activities to engage and inspire high value supporters, and ensure they are connected to, and inspired by, the work of Help for Heroes.

You will support our relationship management teams across High Value Partnerships to embed and further develop the high value stewardship strategy to ensure those who support Help for Heroes at the highest levels enjoy an exceptional supporter experience.

About the role

The Events Officer plays a key role in our highly effective communications team, leading on the delivery of an impactful programme of events – both online and in person. The role works with teams from across the organisation to plan, deliver and promote all types of events, including workshops, roundtables, conferences, webinars, receptions and other types of online and in person events.

Events are an important way for Ageing Better to influence priority audiences, including businesses and local and national government, and the postholder will advise teams on how events can best reach these audiences, encourage engagement and lead to lasting relationships.

This role sits within the Communications team, and the postholder will be responsible for drafting comms content, such as blogs and social media posts, particularly in relation to event promotion.

About you

You are highly organised, with excellent prioritisation and project management skills, enabling you to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. You have good attention to detail and enjoy planning, solving logistical problems and delivering events to a tight budget.

You are a good communicator and are comfortable working in close partnership with colleagues and dealing with a wide range of people.

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Event Organiser & Fundraiser to become part of the ambitious Events Team at LOROS. As Mass Participation Events Officer, you will line manage an Event Coordinator, and together take the lead on some of our biggest and most well-attended events, including the LOROS Twilight Walk, the Rothley 10K, LOROS’ Charity Bike Ride, our Hospice Open Day, and be significant drivers behind The Run Leicester Festival.

LOROS Hospice is a local charity and every year we care for over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We deliver free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill patients, their family and carers.

Prostate Cancer Research exists to honour the men and families who have been through things no family should have to go through, and to work for a future where no one needs to fear a prostate cancer diagnosis.

Job Description  

This is a great time to join PCR’s Events & Community team as we expand the team off the back of raising over £1.3m (against a target of £800k) in 2023-24. We’ve had a really successful year with good results across our portfolio, so we’re excited to be recruiting a brand-new role to focus on PCR’s bespoke events and finding the successful events of the future! 

We are therefore looking for a proactive team player to join us and lead the innovation and delivery of our programme of PCR-owned fundraising events. This will include our flagship challenge Snowdonia for Science, as well as leading product development of new challenge, community fundraising and special event propositions. The Bespoke Events Manager will also work with colleagues across the organisation to support other strategic and stewardship events.

The position reports to the Head of Events & Community, and will line manage one Events & Community Officer. Collaboration will be a big part of the role, especially with the Virtual & Challenge Events Manager (VCM) who leads our virtual fundraising and third-party challenge events. 

Key Responsibilities 

As Bespoke Events Manager, we would be very keen to work with you to develop and shape this into an exciting and meaningful role for you. We prioritise our team member's development, and there will be a percentage of time available to work on other areas of the portfolio for development and interest. However, your main focus would be;

Project Management 

• Project manage PCR's flagship challenge, Snowdonia For Science. An amazing community event now enering its 16th year and forcast to raise £100k in 2024. This event is well-established but with plenty of room for you to make your mark, grow and improve the event. 
• Project manage new events and community products as they are developed and tested, including end-to-end planning and delivery
• Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your projects which contribute net income towards PCR's lifesaving mission. 
• Create good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value.
• Lead the stewardship of fundraisers taking part in your events, boosting income and using feedback to continually develop positive journeys, experiences and opportunities for supporters 
• Alongside the Head of Events & Community and others, support the development and delivery of other events, including high value fundraising and stewardship events, and plans for a conference style event in collaboration with PCR's Research & Comms and Patient Projects teams. 

Product development and innovation 

• As a key part of the role, you’ll spend a good proportion of your time developing and testing new fundraising propositions, taking a test & learn approach. For this, there are realistic budgets and an understanding of the investment needed to try new ideas. 
• Product development will include special event product testing and at least one new community fundraising product in 2024-25. 
• Maintain a good level of understanding of PCR’s existing (and target) supporters in order to create and implement products and stewardship that motivate and inspire them. 
• Alongside the Head of E&C and the VCM, embed a culture of innovation and supporter insight in the team. 
• Proactively collaborate internally, working with other teams to identify opportunities for new events, activities and stewardship journeys that meet Prostate Cancer Research’s objectives. 

Team leadership 

• Line manage one Events & Community Officer, overseeing their work, guiding them to improve & innovate in their role, and supporting their professional development.
• Work closely with the Head of E&C and the VCM on team strategy, capacity planning and ways of working.
• Alongside the VCM, take a lead role on developing processes and infrastructure across the team including for stewardship, content, data and compliance. 
• Attend and contribute to meetings, sharing new ideas and learnings that might be useful for the wider team.
• Work with the Head of E&C and the VCM to embed and model PCR’s organisational values in the Events. Our values include: innovation, collaboration, accountability and championing the patient voice. 

As with everyone in the Public Fundraising team, the Bespoke Events Manager may also get in involved with other projects and tasks as appropriate to support all our activities. 

Skills and Competencies 

Our ideal candidate would have: 

• A willingness to get stuck in, proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Confident event and project management skills, including end-to-end planning, budgeting & results tracking.

The Role 
 
As our Communications Officer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a wide range of communications that contribute to increased brand awareness of the charity, demonstrate the charity’s expertise and impact, educate the public about cancer prevention, signs, symptoms and screening and support the generation of income for the charity. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Plan, research, create and distribute creative media content, including press releases, blog posts, case studies and videos, to support research, services, cancer insight, fundraising, events, retail, corporate partnerships and campaigns. 

• Proactively seek, identify and engage in media opportunities, such as attending events, organising photo opportunities and meeting face-to-face with case studies.

• Manage third-party suppliers such as photographers and film production agencies, obtaining quotes, providing clear briefings and ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget.

• Respond to press enquiries efficiently and to a high standard. Understand which media enquiries are appropriate for the charity’s brand and key messages and those which are not, so that the charity prioritises only those which are value-adding. 

• Organise TV, radio and press interview opportunities for the Chief Executive, Directors and Heads of. Prepare clear briefings for interviewees. 

• Demonstrate and convey professionalism at all times and represent the charity when communicating with the media, members of the public, volunteers and supporters to demonstrate the charity’s core values.

• Monitor and evaluate the charity’s media coverage and the digital impact of PR content, providing a monthly media clippings report. 

• Provide PR input to the charity’s Leadership Team, Board reports and performance dashboards. 

• Maintain continuous awareness of industry news and regularly update colleagues on key developments. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be educated to a degree or equivalent level of education or have relevant experience in a similar role at a similar level. 

• Previous media experience, whether through journalism or a PR / in house media assistant role. 

• Experience in building relationships with colleagues and journalists and managing media opportunities such as interviews, broadcast opportunities and photocalls. 

• An ability to write compelling copy for multiple audiences, and media channels, often translating complicated information into a format that is easily understood by readers. 

• An agile media mind, able to spot the key storyline that will maximise the possibility of media coverage and attract the attention of the media. 

• An evaluative mindset, supporting continual improvement by analysing coverage and associated data from media activity. 

• An ability to keep a calm head when faced with a reactive media situation in a manner that best protects the reputation of the charity 

• A thoughtful and empathetic outlook, able to engage with people affected by cancer with sensitivity and respect.

The Executive Management Administration team of 5, headed by the MD, run the organisation on a day-to-day basis. The team is supported by the REB board and committees, together with 3rd party providers for accounting, payroll, banking, media & public relations, website hosting and IT services.

Role and Responsibilities

New Position: Due to the increase in REB memberships and activities, a new full-time events role is being created to support the executive team.

Key Tasks – support the MD in creating and delivering a member engagement and events programme

1. Conception and collaboration of member events, through to completion

2. Promoting events to members, working alongside REB’s external PR/Communications agency

3. Managing event registrations and guest lists

4. Responsible for line managing the events administrator

5. Responsible for REB events planning, logistics, analysis (report & presentation) and follow-up actions

6. Attending meetings with members re event planning and development

7. Reporting quarterly to the board and attending board meetings with the Executive team

Detailed Responsibilities

1. Develop, manage and deliver REB’s event programme (working with MD and ED&I coordinator):

o upload event listings to website;

o prepare invitations;

o liaise with host venues;

o oversee registrations & comms;

o obtain event feedback

2. Monitor and evaluate events including reviewing feedback and attendance

3. Coordinate the CEO Breakfasts series

4. Maintain the Events page on the REB website

5. Maintain a database of venues

6. Identify, approach and secure appropriate speakers and participants for events

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

1. Events management and logistics

2. Knowledge (preferably working knowledge) of Microsoft Dynamics and Marketing

3. Knowledge (preferably working knowledge) of current best practices and trends in ED&I, including familiarity with key concepts (e.g. allyship, unconscious bias, intersectionality, etc.)
