About Crisis
Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it. Through our pioneering research into the causes and consequences of homelessness and the solutions to it, we know what it will take to end it, together, in our lifetimes.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert advice on welfare rights and entitlements for people facing homelessness, including those who may appear to have no recourse to public funds, to contribute to Crisis’ mission of ending homelessness. Advice and assistance will be offered on an internal consultancy basis to Crisis Skylight staff to enable them to advocate for their clients. For complex cases, more direct involvement will be required including direct work with members and advocacy to relevant agencies.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience of working in the welfare benefits sector. You will enjoy working across Client Services providing good quality advice and support as well as developing and delivering training to Skylight staff.

Your knowledge and expertise will contribute to the development of policy, practice and campaigns work by providing examples of where welfare policy and/or practice contributes to the perpetuating or creating homelessness.

Benefits
As a member of the team you will have access to a wide range of employee benefits including:

· Interest free loans to purchase a train season ticket or a bike or for a deposit to secure a tenancy
· Mandatory pension scheme, with an employer contribution of 8.5%
· 25 days’ annual leave which increases with service to 28 days

Alongside our excellent staff benefits, we will support your ongoing development to build your skills, experience and career.
