Location:Based at Bede House, 351 Southwark Park Road SE16 2JW, with work at various sites in Southwark. Due to the nature of the work, this is not a remote/working from home role.
Hours: Up to 35 hours/week (excluding lunch break). Schedule may vary according to the organisation’s needs. The role covers the normal core office hours of 9:00 am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. TOIL may be granted for extra hours worked, in advance and by agreement with the service manager.

This varied and dynamic role will lead on the set up, coordination and provision of excellent person-centred care and support to service users, enabling them to live independently in their home and be supported in all aspects of day-to-day living. As Project Manager, you will oversee the development and implementation of care plans designed to provide meaningful choice and a range of activities and support to meet individual needs. You will also contribute to the development of the team and be responsible for encouraging a culture based on respect and dignity for those in need of care and support, providing supervision and clear management to a team of support workers.
The ideal candidate will have experience of leading and coaching a team supporting people with learning disabilities or another vulnerable client group. Experience of supporting people with high and complex support needs would be an advantage. We are looking for people to join our Bristol Complex Needs in St George as a Project Worker. The service provides accommodation and housing related support to people experiencing homelessness; dedicated to providing a safe, high quality and inclusive service to people while they are living in the hostel, and a positive move-on into independent housing.
In the role of Project Worker, you will:
- Oversee a caseload of clients and provide ongoing 1-1 support in an approachable, caring and person-centred way.
- Provide practical and personal support to clients with complex needs around areas such as housing and health.
- Have a good understanding of a person centred approach and how to provide the right support to clients to meet individual needs, identifying personal aims and ambitions and making plans to achieve them.
- Work with the team, external statutory agencies and voluntary organisations to ensure everyone has access to available support.
- Continue to develop your skills further around working with clients in a holistic way, and to gain a deeper understanding of housing and benefits law, and other specialist areas through training, supervision and line management support.
In this role you will work on a shift rota Monday – Friday 9am-5pm. In some of these role’s staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

We are looking for enthusiastic people with experience of dealing with complex and difficult situations in relation to people and helping people throughout difficult periods and a process of change. You should also demonstrate:
- A sound understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing homelessness, and the difficulties they can experience in accessing services.
- Some experience of liaising with a number of individuals or agencies to achieve effective outcomes for others.
- Excellent communication and listening skills and the ability to work with a variety of different people.
- The ability to work in a role that supports vulnerable people and maintain high level of contact with clients on a day to day basis.
- Above all, you should have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives and a non-judgemental approach to working with people with complex needs.

The service forms part of a pair of services supporting up to 12 individuals at any one time across the sites, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for young people across london on a spot purchase basis.

The role is working within the nationally recognised IPS (Individual Placement and Support) model within an NHS secondary care mental health team based in the heart of Camden.

Hillside Clubhouse is a co-produced mental health employment support charity working across Camden and Islington. We support people with mental health conditions into training, volunteering, and employment opportunities. People can access our services via our Clubhouse, where they can share their skills and expertise with others and support the running of the charity. Alternatively, they can receive support out in the community from one of our employment specialists based within primary and secondary care.
The Role:
The role is within our IPS Service and will be based within a Camden NHS secondary care team. As an IPS Employment Specialist, you’ll play an important role in supporting people with lived mental health experience on their recovery journey by supporting them back into paid employment. This is an opportunity to offer ongoing support, to motivate and provide people with hope, while developing the tools and skills required to recover, ultimately transforming their lives.
A variety of skills are needed in this post including but not limited to - a strong ability to develop empathy and rapport with clients; a determined approach to seeking out job opportunities; a person centric-approach to working with people; strong communications skills to motivate clients; strong administrative capabilities and an attention to detail engage with prospective employers via business development and face-to-face meetings, and to be able to challenge some perceptions around mental health.

They will be managed directly by the IPS Operations Manager but work as team member within the clinical team. To enable people with mental health issues to gain and sustain competitive employment by working within the evidence based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.
Primary Duties:
- Manage a caseload of up to twenty clients and work within and apply the 8 principles of IPS in all aspects of role.
- To work with and enable clients to find work using a mix of conventional approaches and employer engagement.
- To generate ongoing referrals from the clinical team and to manage those effectively.
- To engage directly and collaboratively with the clinical team while maintaining the existing multi-disciplinary approach to assisting clients seeking work.
- To report and meet regularly with clinical team service managers and the IPS Operations manager, and to participate in both casework and clinical supervision from IPS Operations and clinical team services managers.
- To be an active member of both the clinical and Hillside teams
- To be responsible for own management of administrative duties tied to both Hillside Clubhouse and clinical team and adhering to existing Hillside and NHS protocols.
- Source job opportunities specific to client needs from a range of sources including those advertised via current and conventional means, as well as through contact with local and Pan London employers.
- To build up a network of employers to secure available and future vacancies.
- To maintain existing and seek out new relationships with a range of external agencies of use to the post.
- To provide ongoing support to both client and employers (where appropriate) when starting work and until such time as the client makes the decision to end the support provided.
- To work with clients to collaboratively manage job searching activities and engagement with the service.
- To manage and meet all KPIs, statistics and documentation as required, including but not limited to: referrals, first meetings, job outcomes, job sustainments of 6, 13 and 26 weeks, and work retention.
- To provide guidance on the impact and/or the potential change to benefits when clients start work.
- To work and manage time effectively in both community/external settings, and at clinical team.
- Secondary Duties:
- To work out of hours as and when required, working in line with Hillside Clubhouse risk management procedures.
- Undertake training when required and participate in ongoing learning and development.
- To maintain professional boundaries with all internal and external stake holders including clients, and staff members of both Hillside and the clinical team.
- To engage and participate in external IPS support services, training, and events.
- To undertake additional tasks and duties as and when required, and to work outside of normal office hours when necessary.

- Provide support during the night when the people you are supporting are awake and are struggling to go back to sleep
- Support with personal care
- Updating files such as finance logs and support plans
- General household tasks, such as cleaning, washing and ironing
- Performing security checks, including fire checks

We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Foston Hall (subject to contract award). Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy programme at HMP Foston Hall, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
