You will be part of this ambitious transformation by joining our busy in-house legal team (currently five people) supporting both the UK Charity and its trading subsidiary, and our international offices (Brazil, USA, China), to provide specialist legal advice with strategic insight and commercial awareness whilst managing risk effectively.

​We have two Senior Legal Counsel positions available.

These are broad in-house legal roles with an opportunity to get involved in a number of areas across the organisation working with internationally recognised brands, NGOs, governments and key actors in the space. One role will primarily focus on supporting our Programme Teams (Plastics, Fashion, Food and Finance) and one role will focus on supporting the Network and Philanthropy Teams.

​In both roles you will be supporting an​ international collective ​of circular economy catalysts who are providing innovative solutions to the biggest global challenges of our time.

​Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to our General Counsel, your main responsibilities will be:​

• Providing expert advice to the Foundation and leading on devising, drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of complex agreements (including commercial contracts, supplier terms, collaboration agreements, and memoranda of understanding as required).
• Identifying, analysing, and advising on a broad range of legal, compliance and regulatory issues including in relation to contractual matters, charity law compliance, data protection and privacy, employment, anti-bribery and corruption, commercial contracts, intellectual property licensing, brand management and protection, and competition law.
• Proactively seeking opportunities to improve operational working practices and systems particularly as relevant to their business areas working closely with the General Counsel and other key stakeholders to do so.
• Staying up to date with external developments relevant to the Foundation particularly as relevant to their business areas and contributing to the dissemination of knowledge within the organisation.
• Liaising with colleagues in the Foundation’s international offices, as required.
• ​Undertaking a range of core administrative and support tasks as required, including use of software, document, and knowledge management.​

Your profile:

• Qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales or equivalent (including by way of transfer).
• This role may suit a candidate with 4+ years PQE (note this is stated as a guide only) with significant and demonstrable post qualification experience advising on the law of England and Wales.
• Experience of working in-house is essential, coupled with evidence of having advised clients directly.
• Strong commercial contracting experience is essential, including confidence in drafting, advising on, and negotiating a broad range of complex contracts, including intellectual property and licencing.
• A working knowledge of charity law compliance, data protection and privacy, intellectual property, employment and competition law would be strongly preferred.​

Salary package: circa £63k per annum dependent on experience level plus generous holiday allowance (25 days plus UK Bank Holidays plus discretionary organisational extra days leave) generous parental leave; enhanced pension options/private health scheme after 6 months; wellbeing programme.​

Location: This role may be remote in the UK or be based in our offices in Cowes, Isle of Wight.​

The JET team support with young people to support them into meaningful and appropriate employment, training opportunities, apprenticeships, volunteering, and education.

In this role, you will work with young people 1-1, holding small caseloads, as well as working with young people in groups and delivering employment or education-focussed sessions on a regular basis.

As part of our service, we also aim to deliver a weekly group conversation class for young people looking to improve their spoken English, many of whom are young refugees and asylum seekers. While you will work with all young people in the service and support regularly with our day centre delivery, this role will focus on expanding our JET service to young refugees and asylum seekers, developing specialist networks and partnerships, and pathways to appropriate opportunities.

About the Suzy Lamplugh Trust

Suzy Lamplugh Trust is the UK’s pioneering personal safety charity and leading stalking authority. We were established in 1986 following the disappearance of 25-year-old Suzy Lamplugh, an estate agent and lone worker who went to meet a client and never returned. The Trust exists so that what happened to Suzy does not happen to anyone else. For the past 37 years, we have worked towards reducing the risk of harassment, stalking, aggression, and violence. Our Stalking Helpline offers support and advice to thousands of victims of stalking every year, while our bespoke advocacy teams work closely with partners across the Violence Against Women and Girls’ (VAWG) sector, the criminal justice system, and both statutory and non-statutory services to ensure our clients can live a live free from abuse and fear.

You will be working alongside a team of advocates who are dedicated to supporting and empowering victims and survivors of stalking. By working with a caseload of 20- 25 clients, you will have the opportunity to provide holistic and bespoke advocacy to your clients, whilst leveraging your knowledge of gender-based abuse to support the Trust’s specialist mission.

Purpose of Role:

· To provide expert advice and advocacy to victims of stalking.

· To provide guidance and support by telephone, email and face-to-face to those affected by stalking.

· To provide casework support and advocacy to victims of stalking, liaising with both voluntary and statutory services to ensure positive outcomes for victims. 

· To support the operational Team Leaders where required.

Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. The role

This newly scoped role reports into the CEO and is critical to our ability to create the income we need to keep up with the ever-increasing demand on our services. Primarily, the role has two fundamental elements to it: firstly, working with both a specialist external consultant and the CEO in planning, submitting and reporting on the grants that make up a large proportion of our income; and secondly, the planning and managing of TUR’s traditional (and always fun) annual events. These include celebrity interviews and talks, garden parties and various community events such as the Green Days festival in Chiswick. There are additionally a number of community relationships that add great value to our work and efforts to raise funds which require regular contact. Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We know that homelessness is not inevitable. We know that together we can end it. 

Join our small but perfectly formed learning team of creatives at Crisis Skylight Croydon as we develop a new dynamic space to expand our learning programmes and form exciting community partnerships, locally and further afield.

About the role 

As a Sewing for Wellbeing Tutor, you will be creating, planning, and delivering fun, exciting workshops, courses, and projects, and inspiring our adult members in engaging and inclusive ways. If you are a compassionate, creative, collaborative sewing or textiles tutor artist who is just waiting to share your amazing range of sewing techniques and skills with our members, and confident in teaching machine and hand sewing skills, we would love to hear from you!

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Understanding of the needs, issues and sensitivities of supporting people facing homelessness and other forms of social exclusion and develop practical solutions to address them. 

• Understanding of psychologically informed approaches when working with people who have experienced complex trauma from marginalised backgrounds.  

• Experience of delivering sewing sessions, workshops, and creative projects with personalised outcomes to support people to gain new skills and self-confidence.

• Knowledge of and skills in of a wide variety of sewing skills and techniques, including hand and machine sewing; and for example, surface decoration, item personalisation; embroidery, patchwork, embellishments; recycling old fabrics into something new; repairing and mending; clothes making; homeware etc, to help people learn, progress and improve their wellbeing. 

• · A teaching qualification or be able to demonstrate delivering in a community-based setting. 

• You may have experience in; Art therapy; Safeguarding; Mental health first aid; Community arts practice.

In your role as a Community Keyworker, you will be working with women involved in the Criminal Justice System; those on Probation in the Community and those women being released from Prison as part of their Post Sentence Supervision; providing some in-reach and ‘Through the Gate’ support. You will be working in a team of Community Keyworkers in your region. Each Keyworker will provide holistic one to one community support to women with a variety of needs.

The Minerva London service provides holistic, trauma-informed support for women in touch with the Criminal Justice System. We do this through offering dedicated one to one support, safer women’s centre spaces and specialist interventions and partnerships.

To be successful as the Community Key Worker you will need the below experience and skills.

You will be working in a supportive, friendly, and welcoming team whilst having oversight of a caseload of women, who may be under the supervision of the National Probation Service or in custody, enhancing the offer of holistic support and advocacy services available to them throughout their journey.

Building relationships with other statutory and non-statutory agencies in local communities is vital to build referral pathways and provide a whole system approach to supporting individuals.

To carry out this work you will meet women in the community in your designated borough and co-locate with other agencies including the National Probation Service, as well as regularly attending Advance’s North London vibrant Women’s Centre/office space.

You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. Strong Administration skills and understanding of compliant behaviours also experience of supporting. With good knowledge of the criminal justice system and awareness of other support provisions.

Citizens Advice Waltham Forest has an exciting opportunity on their successful Debt Free Advice Team for an experienced Senior Debt Adviser. We have been part of the wider Debt Free Advice partnership for over a decade and have success in delivering high quality debt advice to local residents who are facing financial difficulties. The demand for the service in light of the cost of living crisis has increased substantially over recent years and we are looking to expand our team.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Debt Adviser who has a proven track record in helping and assisting clients facing financial difficulties and providing creative solutions to help alleviate their challenges in a sensitive and supportive role. They will have an awareness of having successfully provided debt advice in a regulated environment. They will have experience of supporting and supervising a team, and monitoring their performance to ensure this remains in line with internal and external requirements.

The successful candidate would be expected to work a hybrid model of delivery - in an office environment, outreach sessions as well as home based. They would be expected to provide advice via omni-channels such as face to face, telephone and email advice. 

Main Responsibilities:

● Provide casework covering the full range of debt - Interviewing those that access our service using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow them to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.

● Researching and exploring options and implications so that those accessing our service can make informed decisions

● Ensuring income maximisation through the appropriate take up of income, including those relating to water charges, benefits, tax and housing

● Providing in-depth quality advice and on-going casework, including acting for the client where necessary using appropriate communication skills and channels

● Maintaining detailed case records, ensuring that all work meets all auditing and quality standards and the requirements of the funder
