Job description 

The purpose of this role is to provide essential, tailored casework support for residents living in Ella’s’ safe house accommodation. The main responsibilities of this role are:

● Provide one-to-one support for safe house residents This includes ensuring that survivors understand their rights and that these are met, coaching survivors to identify and work towards their personal goals, supporting survivors to access appropriate services/treatment providers and ultimately be supported into independence.
● Manage social work students, placements and interns.
● Maintain and develop borough related relationships.

Key tasks
Casework provision
● Provide high quality casework support to residents (housing, financial, legal, mental health, and physical wellbeing support)
● Support survivor empowerment to speak out and self-advocate
● Carry out regular risk assessment with survivors and respond to any safeguarding concerns as per Ella’s’ safeguarding procedures
● Provide day-to-day support and build trusting relationships with the service users
● Be sensitive to the rapidly changing emotional and physical needs of the service users and respond accordingly
● Manage all paperwork, processing any personal data in accordance with Ella’s’ policies and procedures
● Ensure casenote records are recorded within 24 hours of each service user contact using Ella’s’ case management system
● Assist service users with administrative tasks as required: reaching out to supporting agencies, booking appointments, form-filling, and attending appointments
● Assume an advocacy role during external appointments, if required
● Assist in writing covering letters and support letters to compliment service users’ application forms, advocate for the service user in specific needs, or to keep other organisations updated as required
● Research the requirements for benefit applications and assisting service users to complete (as required)
● Liaise effectively with other agencies involved in the care or support of service users to ensure their needs are sufficiently met

Volunteer coordination
● Oversee social work students and/or interns placed within the safe house, with support from the service manager

● Adhere to and ensure all students and interns have a good knowledge of Ella’s’ casework management forms and recording systems and oversee the consistent use of these
● Provide regular supervision to students and interns Safeguarding, and health and safety
● Work in collaboration with the Safehousee and Facilities Manager
● Ensure all major incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns or potential hazards are managed, reported and recorded according to Ella’s’ policies and procedures
● Participate in the identification and assessment of risks and implement agreed working procedures to minimise their impact; writing risk assessments as required
● Promote awareness of health and safety amongst service users, including those who use emergency/on call systems, fire prevention and control systems as necessary
● Ensure the location confidentiality of Ella’s’ premises to protect survivors and safeguard staff and volunteers
● Participate in any relevant Safeguarding training and keep up to date with any changes to Ella’s’ safeguarding policies and procedures

Accommodation and risk management
● Run regular house meetings and house outings for residents
● Support residents with housing benefit and service charges
● Manage all paperwork in the premises, processing any personal data in accordance with Ella’s’ Data Protection Policy and procedures
● Handle emergency situations calmly and professionally
● Ensure all safety and security procedures are followed to keep self and others safe
● Maintain a safe and secure working environment
● Ensure the location confidentiality of Ella’s’ premises to protect survivors and safeguard staff and volunteers

Other/general duties
● Develop strategic partnerships with local agencies working within the Violence Against Women and Girls sector and other local organisations or businesses that could enrich the work of Ella’s
● Take part in the out of hours on-call service
● Attend any training required for the role, keeping up to date with any developments and changes within the sector
● Represent the work at Ella’s with integrity at all times
● Adhere to all of Ella's policies and procedures at all times
● Be an active member of the organisation, attending any team meetings that are required and contribute to Ella's’ strategic goals and input into its direction of growth

We are seeking an experienced ecumenist to become National Advisor for Ecumenical Relations to support the Archbishops and Bishops in their ecumenical responsibilities, ensuring meaningful partnerships with churches across the UK and beyond.

The ecumenical sub-team is currently composed of three staff, two of whom (including the advertised post) are full-time, and one part-time, with access to administrative support from a fourth (half-time). The National Advisor for Ecumenical Relations is the sub-team manager. The sub-team is part of the Faith and Public Life team and is based at Lambeth Palace. It operates under the aegis of the Council for Christian Unity, reporting to the Archbishops' Council and also to the Archbishops of Canterbury and York.

What you'll be doing

The National Ecumenical Officer is a senior post, and the person appointed will work with the Council for Christian Unity to direct and manage the Church of England's ecumenical relationships at home and abroad and will work through the Office of the Archbishops to support the Archbishops of Canterbury and York in their ecumenical engagements.

As National Ecumenical Officer, you will promote, sustain and develop the Church of England's ecumenical relations, with a focus on enabling cooperation between churches in mission and evangelism. This involves working on cross-cutting issues with a bearing on ecumenical relations with other churches.

As someone considering this role, you will have extensive experience of ecumenical dialogue, whether locally, nationally or internationally, and a vision for ecumenism which holds unity and diversity together creatively. We are looking to appoint an experienced Philanthropy Manager to proactively lead the cultivation and stewardship of potential and existing major donors, trusts and statutory bodies, with a particular focus on driving significant income growth.

Policy Development:

The JustMoney Movement is a Christian charity, with longstanding relationships across the Catholic, Anglican, Nonconformist and Pentecostal denominations. Your purpose

To deliver a high quality experience to schools in your region through expert relationship management and delivery of specific project outcomes: driving high levels of engagement, retention and renewal and enabling Voice 21 to have the greatest impact in each Voice 21 Oracy School.

Your responsibilities

Relationship management and Group Project delivery

• Build and manage strong relationships with member schools and key stakeholders at all levels, across your region in order to add value to their membership, driving engagement, long term loyalty and ultimately impact in our schools.

• Use your understanding of member schools in your region to create ‘wow moments’ across the membership journey (e.g. dropping in to meet with key stakeholders or setting up virtual networking opportunities).

• Manage the delivery of group projects in your region, reporting to group commissioners or funders on progress.

Location: Remote with a focus on the East Midlands & East of England.

This role requires regular travel to London, occasional within the region & nationally. This includes visiting schools, attending development days, meetings, and industry events. Some overnight stays will be required.

Ideal Candidate: We are seeking a candidate specifically based in the East Midlands or East of England and with a strong understanding and experience of the educational landscape and the challenges facing schools in these areas.

We are looking to recruit a new Fundraising Coordinator who believes in our vision that there should be “No Street Called Home” for children living on the streets in Uganda and who wants to help us to grow this impact and further change children’s lives.

Reporting to: Development Manager

Location: Remote

Working Hours: Part-time, 2.5 days per week (working days are flexible)

Salary: £27,000 pro rata (based on a full-time equivalent 37.5 hour week)

Contract Length: One year, fixed term (with the potential to extend based on available funding)

This is a 2.5 day a week role which would be perfect for someone looking for a flexible job that makes a big social justice impact. This would suit someone with family responsibilities or who is studying a part time masters course for example, who needs a job role that fits in around their other commitments. You could work it full time over 2.5 days or part time over 4 or 5 days a week.

You will be joining a wonderful team in the UK and Uganda. We currently have two paid staff (based in London and Bournemouth) and a variety of volunteers in the UK, plus a team of 26 staff in Uganda. Your views will be valued and you will get the chance to work together within our team to problem solve and suggest ideas to improve our programmes at every step of the way.

Job Purpose

• To support the Development Manager in securing appropriate funding for the organisation
• To support the Development Manager in managing fundraising partnerships
• To support the administrative functioning of the organisation
• To work collaboratively with, and offer support to, the rest of the UK team, to best meet S.A.L.V.E.’s aims and objectives.
• To work with the S.A.L.V.E. team as required, developing and improving our existing programmes of work to best benefit our service users.
• To raise awareness of the work of S.A.L.V.E. International and be an ambassador for us in the community.

Key Activities

The following activities are intended as a guide to the main responsibilities of the post and are not an exhaustive list of duties and tasks. To carry out these activities you will be working together with and given support by the Development Manager.  The post-holder may be required to undertake other duties that are not listed below, at the direction of their manager.  The job description may be amended from time to time after consultation with the post holder.

• Researching and writing funding applications to Trusts, Foundations and Corporate CSR programmes, in order to secure funding for new programmes or projects
• Writing funding reports, to fulfil obligations to funders
• Building strong relationships with funders and partners, to secure long-term, sustainable funding and identify new funding opportunities
• Leading on the design and delivery of the organisations Community Fundraising strategy
• Supporting the CEO and Development Manager with admin tasks, to ensure the effective functioning of the organisation.
• Working with the S.A.L.V.E. team to deliver on our strategic plan. Contribute to its review and improvements over time to maximise the organisation’s impact with our service users through regular evaluation and learning reviews where required.

Requirements

SKILLS:

EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

• Educated to degree level or above or at least three years’ work experience
• Demonstrable fundraising work experience: minimum two years, ideally with experience of trust fundraising.
• Strong relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to engage donors, corporate partners, and stakeholders effectively.
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify funding opportunities and assess their suitability
• Excellent IT Skills including a wide range of software packages such as Excel, Word etc
• Experience of using design software packages such as Canva (preferrable)
• Experience using a CRM for donor management (Beacon preferred)

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Uganda and its culture, particularly if you have spent time there.
• Knowledge of international development, homelessness, social entrepreneurship, social work and/or addiction.
