The Quality Mark Programme Lead will play a key role in shaping and supporting the strategic direction of our work with community and faith-led night shelters across England. Using insights from data and frontline experience to inform and strengthen the organisation’s wider work with night shelters, funders, stakeholder and partners.

The Quality Mark Programme Lead will be at the forefront of delivering and developing Housing Justice’s Quality Assessment Framework, a set of standards for non-commissioned emergency accommodation across England. This role is central to supporting shelters to meet and maintain high standards in safety, dignity, and service delivery for people experiencing homelessness. The postholder will lead the operational delivery of the Quality Mark, provide guidance and leadership to a small team, and engage with stakeholders to ensure the framework continues to reflect emerging best practice.

37.5 hours per week / permanent / working onsite on a seven-day rolling rota, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be. We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health.

YMCA Hastings provides medium-low supported accommodation for a total of 47 young people at risk of homelessness, aged 16 to 25, and care experienced young people under the age of 18. We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Workers and additional Bank Workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs and relationship building. Situated just of the seafront, the project has strong links with and contributes to the local community.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our Hastings Foyer team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing

• Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living. 
• Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law.
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team.

Coaching and Engagement

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community. 
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries.
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance). 

General 

• Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations.
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice.

Experience and Knowledge

• Knowledge of good safeguarding procedures in relation to young people and the ability to maintain effective professional boundaries.
• Demonstrated confidence and competence in recording notes/actions in service log, incident forms and health and safety check lists.

Skills and Abilities 

• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing for appropriate recording of a resident’s progression, and to evidence outcomes achieved.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including signposting and advocating for clients as necessary. 
• Ability to work autonomously, and use own initiative, as well as being part of a team.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, good IT, and keyboard skills.
• Ability to de-escalate volatile situations and manage challenging behaviour appropriately.

Livingstone House is a 24 hour staffed 92 bed mix gender hostel, which provides short term supported housing for single homeless vulnerable people with Low to Medium support needs. Look ahead provides the support function and Riverside provides the housing management and night concierge. The Service provides on average 5 hours of weekly support to customers who reside in the hostel with the aim to provide them with the tools to move on within the community and live independently. On occasions, we may need support within our scattered sites based in Brent.

The Shift pattern of this role consist: 8am -4pm and 1.30pm - 9pm. Over a 7 day rota with 2 days off with weekend working

About the Role:

As our Compliance Officer, you will take the lead on property compliance and certification across Homeless Oxfordshire's housing portfolio. You will oversee safety inspections, manage risk assessments, maintain up-to-date records, and coordinate with contractors and landlords to ensure all remedial and planned works meet health, safety, and housing regulations. We will also entrust you with coordinating employer health and safety regulations. Reporting to the Head of Property and Facilities, your role is central to protecting residents and enabling our operational teams to deliver outstanding service.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

· Ensure all regulatory requirements & certifications are maintained and securely documented (e.g. gas, Electrical safety, legionella, Asbestos, fire alarm and lighting tests etc.), Ready for inspection as required.

· Undertake annual risk assessments for all areas relating to properties (including fire); maintenance and cleaning activities and ensure that relevant details are shared with others appropriately

· Build close relationships with our landlords and providers to ensure any compliance works they are responsible for under the terms of the lease are carried out to the required standard that we are satisfied with along with the local authorities or facilitate the work on their behalf.

· Ensure all HMO licencing information is up to date for all relevant properties and records of HMO Licences are retained on in-form and work together with Local Authorities. Ensure all additional works that are required for licence are completed in a timely manner.

· Oversee weekly and monthly Health and safety inspections for all sites.

· Work with Head of property & Facilities on Health and safety tasks for the organisation

· Contribute towards the budget setting for all planned compliance and health and safety works and ensure this remains within the budget set.

· Promote a high standard of hygiene among staff and residents and ensure controls are in place to reduce the risk of pests, damp, and mould, taking remedial action.

· Remain informed of all relevant property legislation for the private rented sector, HMOs and supported accommodation and implement changes within the organisation to maintain compliance.

· Support operational managers and staff to deliver outstanding services to our residents.

· To take control of the accident reporting, working with managers and SMT to ensure that all staff adhere to the process of reporting these incidents.

· Provide a monthly report to the Head of Property and facilities with compliance for the property portfolio as a minimum.

· Comply with Homeless Oxfordshire’s policies and procedures

Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Location: Based within the central office in Luton with regular travel required around multiple community based locations

Salary: £24,500

Shift Pattern: 12 month fixed term contract, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. You may be required to work outside these hours as necessary to service requirements.

About the role

This is an exciting new role within a brand new contract to support the referral process from the Housing Solutions teams! The service focuses on providing floating and wraparound support to single applicants who are at risk of homelessness and are able to live independently, by providing a housing support plan towards resolving housing needs and support them into long-term, stable housing.

In this role, you will conduct proactive outreach with our participants to develop personalised support plans for housing for appropriate long-term housing options, including accessing private rental listings and understanding application processes for tenancy. You will help our participants navigate the resources available to them including benefits and support services, advocating for their needs whilst empowering them to take ownership of their housing journey. You will work closely with the Landlord Liaison Officer who bridges the gap between our participants and private landlords. You will work closely with them to achieve prevention and relief outcomes by assisting the participant to remain in their provided accommodation. 

You will provide follow up support to ensure tenancy sustainment and successful transitions into permanent housing, keeping casefiles up to date with activities and documents, and escalating any high risks or high needs to the management team.

About the role:

We are looking for Night Support Assistants to join our dedicated Youth Services team, supporting young people aged 16 and over in Lewisham and Greenwich. Working in a supported accommodation setting, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for at risk young people and young people leaving care, helping them navigate their personal challenges and work towards their goals. Your presence and support at night are crucial to the overall wellbeing and development of the young people we serve.

In this role, you will oversee the overnight operation of our schemes, ensuring that the needs of each young person are met. You will be the first point of contact during the night, responding to incidents, emergencies, and any late-night activities. This responsibility is not only about keeping the service running smoothly but also about making a real difference in the lives of the young people in your care, building important nurturing relationships. Your guidance, compassion, and ability to handle situations calmly will empower them to feel safe and supported at all times.

The impact of this role is far-reaching, as you contribute directly to the success and safety of our service, helping young people overcome their challenges and make positive steps towards independence. Your work will ensure that the service continues to offer a stable, supportive environment where young people can thrive. As a Night Supported Housing Assistant, you will be at the heart of this critical support system, playing a pivotal role in both the day-to-day function of the service and the long-term growth and wellbeing of the residents.

Rota patterns: Greenwich: 38 hours over Wed, Thurs, Sat, Sun. Lewisham post 1: 31.5 hours over two patterns - Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. Lewisham post 2: 42 hours over Thurs, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

About you:

• Proven ability of successfully working with vulnerable young people or young adults at-risk.
• Experience of working in a team delivering a quality customer focussed service.
• The ability to manage complex/challenging behaviours and adapt your approach according to those varying needs.
• Sound I.T and numerical skills.
• A flexible, resilient and thoughtful approach to your work.

Job Title: Housing Support Worker

Location: Non residential service which is based in Brent (Close to the Civic Centre), you will provide support based in the main office and in the wider community, including homes

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota which can range between 08:00 - 16:00, 09:00 - 17:00 and 10:00 - 18:00. You may be required to work outside these hours dependant on service and participant requirements. 

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to support individuals with multiple, complex needs on their journey towards recovery, reablement, and independence, all within a compassionate, trauma-informed environment.

In this role, you'll be at the  heart of delivering high-quality, person-centered support to vulnerable adults who have been or are at risk of homelessness. They are identified as having low/medium support needs. You will create tailored support plans to provide practical interventions, to empower our participants to overcome personal challenges, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals. You will also work closely in partnership with various organisations to support the different needs of our participants, which may include signposting. • Single homeless individuals between ages of 18 to 60
• Socially excluded individuals
• Ex-Offenders
• People with substance misuse
• People who suffer with their Mental Health (Low)

This role is ideal for someone who has a real passion towards helping others to achieve greater independence. You will thrive in a person centred environment with real compassion and a non-judgmental attitude, understanding that people face different life experiences and sometimes just need that extra support to get back on their feet. We're looking for someone with a genuine passion and felt purpose to help people, challenge stigma, and make a real difference to people’s lives! You will have:

• Understanding of the housing support needs that people with multiple, and complex needs face
• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
• Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people with complex needs
