About the Role

As a Housing and Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality housing and support services to our residents. You will often be the first point of contact for residents and visitors, responding to a wide range of enquiries and offering clear, holistic, and informed guidance.

This role is wonderfully varied, combining customer service, reception duties, safety responsibilities, and building support. Whether welcoming new residents, assisting Health & Wellbeing members, or responding compassionately to concerns, you will be a key representative of YMCA St Paul’s Group throughout the night.

At St Mungo’s, we believe in creating opportunities for people with lived experience of homelessness, substance use, mental health challenges, involvement with the criminal justice system, and/or recovery services. Our Apprenticeship Scheme is designed to help you build a career while making a positive impact. We have opportunities available for 18 month fixed term contracts as Client Support Apprentice Workers.

What you’ll do as an Apprentice Worker

Working as Client Support Apprentice Worker, you will complete practical work experience and academic learning, and work alongside colleagues, students and volunteers working together to empower clients, with a variety of needs in achieving personal goals.

• Gain practical experience and skills in caseload management while working in a person-centred way to support wellbeing and recovery.
• Learn how to deliver day-to-day services while collaborating with colleagues and external partners.
• Have opportunities to shadow experienced staff and receive on-the-job training, observing how we empower our clients to access the right support and move on.
• Complete the practical element of your apprenticeships with meetings and event attendance as well as formal learning while completing a Level 3 Peer Worker qualification.
• Complete on and off the job learning, shadowing and development opportunities.
• You will receive support and supervision from an Apprenticeship Advisor as well as a direct line manager, every step of the way.

Where you’ll work

We’re excited to offer 2 Client Support Apprentice Worker opportunities, joining the team in the London Borough of Camden in the following services:

Camden Shared Houses: A large service spreading across 6 properties and supporting over 40 clients with their needs around homelessness, substance use, mental and physical wellbeing. This service works closely with Camden Council, other accommodation providers in the Adult Pathway, CAPP nurses, and other local services to ensure clients receive holistic support and move towards independence.

North Camden Mental Health Accommodation Services: A mental health supported accommodation service supporting clients with high and low support. Generally, clients move to high support services from hospital and move on from there to low support and then into independent accommodation in the community. This service works closely with other providers within the Mental Health Pathway and community mental health teams.

We’re looking for self-motivated people who can bring their own lived experience of recovery or using services, and use it positively and appropriately to inspire and empower our clients on their journey.

• You will have great communication and listening skills, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Job Purpose:  

To support the delivery of WIPs housing programme for unsentenced women, providing trauma-informed specialist support to women in HMP Bronzefield, and going through court processes, with a focus on improving housing outcomes for women affected by the criminal justice system.

Refuge Team Leader - Permanent, Workplace based

Salary: £26,520 rising to £27,030 on successful completion of probation

Hours & working Pattern:

Purpose of the post: To provide assistance in the management and delivery of high quality, responsive, specialist refuge support and services that enable people to feel safe, to be empowered, and to flourish in a life free from Domestic Abuse and Sexual violence

Specific Responsibilities

As a senior member of the team, support the Refuge support service coordinator  to plan, deliver and evaluate high quality, trauma informed, person led services across Torfaen

Lead the refuge team to enable women and children supported by the refuge services to achieve meaningful and impactful outcomes, led by them.

Line management responsibilities including supervisions, 360’s, inductions for the refuge team (staff, volunteers, and students). 

Carry a smaller case load of single women and families.

Oversee rotas for refuge staff and make sure the refuges are adequately staffed at all times.

Work collaboratively with Community Coordinator to ensure refuge, community and initial contact referral paths are easily accessible are clear and concise, and to continue to promote a whole team approach.

Support women and children to have a voice and provide feedback within the organisation and the sector, including surveys, listening sessions and external opportunities

To oversee operational Health & Safety requirements within refuge services

To oversee housekeeping, maximise refuge occupancy and facilitate room turnarounds in a timely manner

Ensure accurate and timely records are maintained in relation to all aspects of the service, including inputting information into our Information Management System.

Assist with routine audits including our database recording system and developing improvement plans where appropriate

Identify training needs following audits, supervisions, observations etc, and co-ordinate training for the team.

Lead regular Refuge Team meetings and participate in Torfaen full team meetings

Support the Coordinator and Service Manager in compiling reports for Welsh Women’s Aid (WWA) Statistics and other relevant reports for projects and services

Attend core group and other similar meetings, ensuring completion of all tasks allocated to Cyfannol Women’s Aid (CWA).

Support the refuge team to when appropriate signpost and refer women and children to the services they wish to engage with for example social services, the police, parenting, health, legal, DWP, housing, homelessness, recreational, educational, and cultural services and also CWA’s other internal services.

Being responsive to requests from other members of the organisation for quantitative and qualitative data, including for example, the creation of case studies.

A current valid driving licence, access to a car and insurance covering business use is essential.

Are you interested in supporting people at immediate risk of rough sleeping and making a real difference to the lives of people experiencing homelessness in Bristol?

The Bristol Rough Sleeping Prevention Service provides a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough. Our work is ongoing, and we are currently looking for someone to join our team as an Assessment and Reconnection Worker. In these roles you will:

• Join a busy team environment working closely with people experiencing homelessness, carry out comprehensive assessments of people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping.
• Provide personalised case management to clients, turning assessment recommendations into practical action plans which fully involves the client.
• Build and maintain effective relationships to support clients throughout their recovery.
• Work closely with external agencies to ensure all clients’ needs are met. Many of our clients have multiple support needs. This may include complex trauma, substance misuse and mental and physical health support needs.
• Develop a knowledge of relevant legislation such as, welfare benefit and housing legislation.
• While your usual working hours will be from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, occasional work on weekends and early or late hours may occur in response to challenging situations and to prevent rough sleeping.

About you

This role will suit people with experience of working at pace in a public facing environment with the ability to adapt to new situations. We encourage you to apply if you can demonstrate:

Keychange is a Christian charity with over 100 years of experience supporting people facing vulnerability. Today, we provide specialist housing for women and young people experiencing homelessness, alongside residential care for older people across the South and Southwest of England.

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our specialist women’s homelessness service, Wayside Community in Reigate. This community is a 19 bed, 24-7 supported housing for women experiencing homelessness. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong frontline experience who is ready to step into management within a highly supportive and mission-driven team.

About the Role
The Deputy Manager plays a key role in the leadership of Wayside Community, supporting the Women’s Homelessness Lead in the day-to-day running and development of the service.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Women’s Homelessness Lead in Surrey in ensuring the smooth daily running of the Service at all times and deputising in her absence for all matters relating to the management of the Service.
• Ensure that Wayside Community complies with all statutory regulations relating to supported housing, health and safety, fire precautions etc.
• Working with the Women’s Homelessness Lead to develop performance targets and quality control measures for the benefit of the team, and monitoring team members’ work to ensure that these are met.
• In conjunction with the Women’s Homelessness Lead ensure that effective assessments and action plans are updated for all residents through a key worker system and on case files.
• In conjunction with the Women’s Homelessness Lead ensure that all safeguarding concerns, incidents and complaints are managed robustly.

The Head of Supported Living is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and developing supported living services for adults with learning disabilities within the charity including our client's Shared Lives schemes and their residential home.

The role ensures that services are person-centred, high-quality, and compliant with regulatory and organisational standards, while empowering individuals to live independently and achieve their goals.

Leading culture and change with experience, integrity, collaboration and transparency sits at the heart of the role. 

The role responsibilities will ensure that our client is able to support more people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health problems to lead healthy, active and equal lives. Their ambition is to become a leader in social and green care integration through the alignment of the personalisation agenda, technological enhancement and advancement and holistic health and wellbeing. 

To achieve this ambition, they will transform their services to ensure that they are effective, efficient and impact and outcomes focused. There will be clarity of the offer, understanding of the financial modelling in a very challenging political environment and respect of the unique culture and history of the Charity whilst innovating through the power of accessible technology.

The post will be responsible for ensuring that services are targeted at people who will gain the most benefit from the Trust’s community (campus) offer within rural and urban contexts. The role will create an “expert driven” provision which is evidence based and provides independent living and a life of opportunity through an ethos of co-production, health and wellbeing.

The role will implement agreed strategy, developing delivery plans that are executed with high quality communication and engagement ensuring that the voices of both staff, people supported and families are heard.

The role will be responsible for continuous value for money service enhancement and will deliver significant growth ensuring close and meaningful relationships with authorities, commissions and private markets resulting in increased funding and healthy waiting lists for the homes and services provided. The post will be responsible for a significant budget and will require the financial acumen to manage this effectively. 

As a direct report to a member of the Executive Management Team (EMT) the role becomes a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will be pivotal in delivering an ambitious transformation agenda and delivering the charity’s Brilliant Future Strategy.

Location & Travel
West Midlands, Gloucestershire and Hertfordshire

The role will cover our communities at Stourbridge (West Midlands), Grange Village & Oaklands Park (Gloucestershire) and St Albans & Delrow, Watford (Hertfordshire). 

You will be based at one of the communities within the region, with regular travel between communities.

You will be required to attend quarterly leadership away days and other meetings which will require overnight stays.

Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership

Supported Living Operations

• Ensure the delivery of measurable and high performing supported living services. Manage and drive improvements in the performance and quality of all services by setting clear objectives, targets and KPIs, evidence regular monitoring and implementation of actions to address under performance.
• Ensure all supported living services meet or exceed regulatory standards (e.g. CQC or equivalent) and internal quality benchmarks.
• Develop and implement systems to measure and report on service outcomes and impact.
• Lead on contract negotiations with funding bodies and across the region to maximise income for the delivery of supported living services.
• Ensure services are co-produced and that co-production is central to the work of the supported living teams and services are delivered in line with the ‘I-statements’.
• Through the Theory of Change, develop a clear model of active support that enables independence and clarity of needs led provision.

People We Support Advocacy

• Promote a person-centred approach, ensuring that people we support have choice, control, and opportunities to achieve their Life of Opportunity aspirations.
• Establish systems for gathering and responding to feedback from those supported and their families.
• Embed the Family Charter and support a culture of transparency.
• Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are rigorously implemented and adhered to.

Housing Management

• Ensure properties are fully let to minimise void loss to the target groups identified in the approved strategy.
• Work with colleagues in the Property and Land Services to secure alternative use for unlettable properties to maximises income aligned to agreed plans, tenure and opportunity.

Strategy Implementation, planning, budgeting, and reporting

• Contribution to and implementation of the approved strategies and tactical plans that support the delivery of a Brilliant Future (e.g. Older People, Community Development, Stakeholder Engagement) . 
• Develop and manage a significant and comprehensive operational annual budget and set of KPIs in line with income constraints and create evaluation & monitoring systems that drive value for money and agreed delivery objectives.
• Develop and manage budgets for supported living services, ensuring financial sustainability recognising that the Charity does not fundraise for statutory provision.
• Monitor and control expenditure, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
• Provide monthly insights, performance reports and analysis using proportionate systems appropriate to different audiences and including Executive, Board of Trustees and Trust strategic documents (such as Annual Report and Impact Reporting).
• Ensure contracts are approved and in place for the delivery of all commissioned services.
• Ensure the service procures goods and services in line with the established governance frameworks in place at the Charity.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead on the development and maintenance of purposeful operational relationships with key stakeholders within the region including funders, commissioners, health services and other partners.
• Work with stakeholders to develop and transform services to meet evolving needs of the local community.
• Support fundraising activity by providing impact reporting as required by the fundraising team and our supporters and local development of volunteering programmes that add value to the unique services of the trust.
• Build meaningful relationships with families in a way that is transparent and aligned to good practise and safeguarding/MCA principles.
• Advocate for the needs and rights of adults with learning disabilities within local and national forums.

As a Night Support Worker, you'll offer assistance, conversation, and continuity of care throughout the night, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Continue support from the day team - engage with residents, offering support and a listening ear.
• Maintain safety protocols, respond to emergencies, and conduct hourly building checks and monitoring issues like noise levels.
• Complete administrative tasks, incident reports and handover notes to the day team.
• You will attend team meetings and training, so you can continue to develop skills and knowledge to ensure confidence in your role.
• Lone work at times when required.

Typical schedule: A flexible night shift rota, including weekends and bank holidays. Rolling 4-week rota, 9 PM – 7:30 AM, with two weekends off per month.

About you

Charles Harper House is a supported housing service for people with learning disabilities and sensory impairments, such as visual or hearing loss. The scheme consists of eight self-contained flats, two on-site offices, a communal area, and a large garden. Staff in the service are trained in British Sign Language (BSL), so a willingness to gain this qualification is essential.

1. To lead the development and delivery of WIP’s housing programme in South London and Manchester, ensuring high quality, trauma responsive services.

Main Purpose of the Role: 

To provide proactive, emotional, and practical support to families and individuals affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) across England. The role will focus on early engagement, wellbeing assessment, community building, and delivery of workshops and events, while ensuring accurate tracking of support outcomes and data.   
  
The successful candidate will also lead on support for our End of Life and Bereavement projects, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, palliative care teams, and hospices to ensure families have access to appropriate services and resources. 

Specific Tasks: 

1. Proactive Family Support  

• Initiate contact with newly registered families within agreed timeframes (email within 3 working days, call within 7–10 working days)  

• Contact to be made to all registered Action Duchenne members, knows to us in the Regions you will be covering, to ensure the current support offer is clear   

• Provide ongoing support tailored to individual needs, including emotional wellbeing, physical health, housing, financial security, self-esteem and respect, decision-making, social engagement, quality of life, and access to care  

• Use the Action Duchenne Assessment Form and Action Plan to identify and respond to areas of concern  

2. Advanced and End-of-Life Care Support 

• Provide compassionate, practical, and emotional support to children, young people, and adults living with Duchenne, and their families, as they navigate advanced stages of the condition and end-of-life care. 

• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, palliative care teams, and hospices to ensure families have access to appropriate services and resources. 

• Develop and share guidance, resources, and workshops to help families prepare for and manage advanced care planning, symptom management, and emotional wellbeing. 

• Support families in understanding available options for care settings (home, hospice, hospital) and facilitate informed decision-making. 

• Ensure continuity of care and communication between multidisciplinary teams, while respecting family preferences and cultural considerations. 

• Offer signposting to bereavement support and follow-up services for families after loss. 

3. Wellbeing Tracking and Outcome Measurement  

• Administer wellbeing questionnaires and record scores across key domains (e.g. physical health, emotional wellbeing, financial security)  

• Collaborate with families to co-create action plans and track progress  

• Ensure all data is entered into CRM (E-Tapestry or similar) within the allotted timeframe, i.e. immediately after or during the call.  

4. Community Engagement and Event Delivery  

• Organise and deliver regional meetups (minimum one per quarter)  

• Facilitate support groups (virtual and in-person) for parents, young people, and extended family (minimum one per quarter)  

• Support delivery of workshops and events aligned with programme schedule (e.g. music, life skills, employability)  

• Actively participate in networking events to promote Action Duchenne within our communities, build relationships, and drive growth in membership by encouraging registration of families affected by Duchenne 

5. Stakeholder Collaboration  

• Liaise and develop relationships with external organisations including NHS care advisors and clinics, local authorities, counselling services, and other charities  

• Represent Action Duchenne in across your regions and build relationships with local networks  

6. Administration and Reporting  

• Maintain accurate records of all interactions and support provided  

• Contribute to quarterly reporting on activity delivery, capacity utilisation, and family impact  

• Support development of CRM processes and service delivery improvements  

7. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):  

• New contact acknowledgement email: within 3 working days

• New contact follow-up call: within 7–10 working days 

• Families contacted per week: 12–15 hours of direct contact

• Regional meetups: 1 per quarter

• Support groups delivered: 9–12 per year

• CRM data entry: within the same day of interaction

• Family outcomes tracked: via wellbeing questionnaire and action plan

The Executive Assistant (EA) will play a pivotal role in enabling the CEO to oversee a diverse portfolio of approximately 50 affordable housing projects. Most of the work is funded by the Oak Foundation, with a focus on achieving long-term sustainability.

You will be joining a busy service working as a Night Concierge, you will:

• Provide a first point of contact and safeguarding to clients at night.
• Be responsible for dealing with emergencies, undertaking regular health and safety checks on patrols and through monitoring the CCTV system.
• Report incidents or maintenance issues and communicate any concerns or events to the rest of the team.
• This is a lone-working night role, with support available through an on-call system to ensure guidance and assistance is always accessible when needed.

Typical schedule: A rolling night shift rota, including weekends and bank holidays, usually around 9pm-7.30am with 3-4 days off.

 About you

This is a great role to learn about working in the charity sector, many of our specialist workers and managers developed a career after starting in Night Concierge roles.

• You don’t need loads of experience. Some time working or volunteering in a similar environment, and an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness, who may have complex needs will be beneficial.
• You should have good communication and basic IT skills with the ability to keep records and follow procedures.
