New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. Opening in April 2021, Crawley Crisis Café is a partnership between Richmond Fellowship and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT). The café will provide support for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and will be open Monday to Friday 5pm – 11pm and Saturday and Sunday 3pm to 11pm. As Peer Support Coordinator your challenge will be to recruit and induct, with the Service Manager, the volunteers.
The volunteers will work alongside Recovery Support Workers and the Community Psychiatric Nurse to ensure positive outcomes for individuals that have come to the crisis café for support. And, when it comes to contributing to the development of organisational policies and procedures or attending networking events and community meetings to promote the service, recruiting volunteers and compiling a monthly rota for the volunteers again, we’ll rely on you.
To succeed, you’ll need a good understanding of the recovery and personalisation agenda and the principles and practice on which mental health services are run. You must be able to, liaise and work collaboratively with a team of colleagues. You will be well-organised and self-motivated; good problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, as is an innate ability to cope with personal stress.

We’re looking for a special someone to join our successful Jobs First programme that aims to provide employment opportunities to people in a situation of homelessness. We are looking for a person who will grow an existing relationship with a leading hospitality partner, building and developing relationships across their portfolio of sites. We need a dynamic, creative and reliable team member who can use their own initiative to build strong relationships with various stakeholders. In this role you will be working closely with Programme Co-ordinator to create opportunities for:
- people to gain employment,
- charities to establish referral pathways,
- building local-level relationships with site managers to drive brand awareness with the partnering employer.

We are hiring a Mental Health Floating Support Coordinator to support our Luton Service which delivers support to individuals living within the community who have support needs pertaining to their mental health and wellbeing. The service works alongside statutory services, with the aim of moving people on to independent living within two years. You will empower and motivate our residents and participants to achieve their personal goals and gain greater independence, which enables them to reintegrate into the community and lead fulfilling lives. The support offered is tailored to the individual needs of the participants and residents through a recovery based model.

- Our clients have a primary mental health need, including complex needs and dual diagnosis
All our clients have a personalised support plans and proactive support work, to engage them with the opportunities available to them to live independently in the community, develop their social skills and independent living skills. - Support our residents and participants with the relevant skills, experience, networks, and training to prepare them for resettlement into semi/independent living.
- Identify resident activity needs and wishes through assessments, observations, and discussions.
- Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent a crisis.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external persons and agencies.
- Administration duties will vary.
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.
KEY CRITERIA
What we are looking for:
- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience is required
- Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, including in the criminal justice field, mental health, and/or substance misuse or a good understanding of the sector
- Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
- Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others
What we would like, but not essential:
- Appropriate qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or professional equivalent
- Experience of providing housing support and a practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role
- Experience creating co-produced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for service user and liaising with other professionals

About Us
Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity is looking for dynamic, passionate and motivated Support and Progression Officers that can provide quality support to our young people to join our Barnet Foyer service in Cricklewood. We help young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Together with our partners, we support thousands of homeless young people each year.
The service accommodates 24 single young people, usually, between the ages of 16 and 21. Young people stay at the service for up to 2 years before moving to more permanent accommodation. Barnet Service is quite a large building and offers a number of additional resources including a fully equipped gym. Barnet is a diversified environment with young people and colleagues from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and the service and other stakeholders celebrate and maximize the opportunities that diversity present.
This role involves working 37.5 hours per week on a rota Monday to Friday (not including Bank Holidays). All staff must be available to work the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. You will be working with a team of three other Support and Progression Officers and the manager. Two staff members work together for each shift.
In this role you will:
- Work face to face with young people and support them to achieve their goals and independence.
- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the highest possible standards of accommodation
- Undertake initial and ongoing needs/risk assessments for young people. Be able to identify safeguarding risks and understand how to escalate any concerns
- Manage your own caseload of young people, person centred support in line with their needs and aspirations
- Liaise with multiple agencies to ensure effective communication across the service and externally including social work teams, YOS, health and other statutory services and voluntary agencies
- Make internal and external referrals to a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies for specialist support and Employment and Training opportunities
- Support young people to manage their rent accounts through liaison with the DWP, Social Services CenterPoint’s rent team and building their own personal budgeting skills
