Responsibilities of our Branch Support Unit Advisor: 

• Deliver proactive operational and administrative support to Volunteer Teams, Centres, and regional Operations staff, managing communications, enquiries, and departmental processes 

• Coordinate and support volunteer engagement activities, including recruitment drives, events, and with charity policies, while facilitating cat relocations and centre visits 

• Lead on organising meetings and events, sourcing cost-effective venues, managing logistics, and supporting project implementation across regional teams 

About the Branch Support Unit team: 

• We sit within the Central Operations team 

• Our day-to-day work includes; maintaining branch information on the database; arranging events lottery licenses, PetPlan, cat relocations, NCC visits and processing Annual Returns; supporting Operations staff with projects and collating and dispatching mail outs to Volunteer Teams and centres 

• We currently have a team of 8 AND ONE TEAM LEADER 

What we’re looking for in our Branch Support Unit Advisor: 

•  Administration experience preferably within an office environment 

• A customer service background with experience interacting with members of the public 

• Proven ability to multi-task and work on own initiative, accurately and under pressur 

• A confident communicator, particularly using the telephone 

• Strong Microsoft Office knowledge including Word and Excel 

• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred 

• Able to travel away from home with some overnights

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

• To support the community work of Adoption UK Scotland community support services, to plan and deliver community events, provide professionals, parents/carers, children, and young people access to information, resources, and services and to engage with families in their local communities. 

• To offer a front-line service, primarily to adoptive and kinship families, and care experienced individuals and young people, by supporting delivery and administration for activities and events, including regular support groups delivery, youth and teens/young adults, and family events. Support of events across Scotland based on resources and availability.

• Support planning, organisation of, and attendance at, in person and online events through funded projects and services to bring together adopted and care-experienced individuals and young people and adoptive and kinship families, enable peer support, build a sense of community and promote an active and supportive Community Network. 

• To respond to enquiries received via the Information and Support Service and relevant email inboxes with relevant information and/or signposting.

• To be part of the wider communities within Adoption UK Scotland, working across teams and services. 

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across all services areas of Adoption UK 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working alongside service leads within the communities team, and with the wider Adoption UK Scotland team members to plan and deliver specific events and activities for adoptive and kinship community members, and care experienced children and young people via our E Project youth service for children, teens and young adults.

• Provide administrative coordination for community event provision, including collating event materials, gathering feedback and evaluations for reporting purposes, supporting delivery of events, maintaining records using existing required systems, and responding to enquiries via our Information and Support line and relevant email inboxes.

• Working alongside Communications colleagues and across teams to ensure promotion of events to relevant target groups 

• Attending events to promote the wider work of AUK Scotland at conferences or support groups

• To hold responsibility for administrative requirements relating to community events, including setting up booking pages, sharing information via newsletters and social media, and recording service delivery interactions, using existing Adoption UK systems and processes

• To work with colleagues in the Foundations for Families kinship support service to support delivery and coordinate activities between services where appropriate.

• To report to line manager and directors in Adoption UK Scotland relating to service delivery, including contributing to monitoring and reporting on activities. 

• To work alongside Adoption UK colleagues to develop and improve resources and services for our communities.

About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Casework Administrator to join the Scottish Regional Office team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.

You will be responsible for providing specialist administrative support and undertaking virtual telephone casework across the whole of Scotland, working remotely with SSAFA branch volunteers and Regional Office colleagues to ensure a consistent, timely, quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries.

To help you establish yourself in this new post you will receive excellent training and induction to the Scottish Regional Office. You will work closely with the Regional Casework Managers and the Regional Manager.

The post is home-based and lone working with support from your line manager and team colleagues and you must have a fast, stable broadband connection in your proposed workspace. You may have to travel occasionally around Scotland or elsewhere in the UK; expenses will be paid.

About the team

In this role you will be working closely with volunteers from seventeen SSAFA branches across Scotland, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a larger team which includes 2 Casework Managers and a Regional Manager and a team of Regional Casework Co-ordinators.

About you

To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. The successful candidate will have experience of using their own initiative, planning and managing their workload with minimal supervision. You should be experienced at writing descriptive reports following a recommended structure. This role requires you to be a resilient person and it would be advantageous if you understand the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families. An understanding of the voluntary sector and preferably the military charity sector landscape across Scotland would be valuable, but not essential.

About the Role

We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer, whilst also carrying out welfare casework. This is a community-based position working from home but covering South Central Scotland.

Post holders will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector, ensuring that support is made available to meet their need through the case working process.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community.

This is home based and the candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the region covered. Occasional travel to London will be required.

This is a grant funded role, fixed term for two years, with the opportunity for conversion to a permanent role should funding allow.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To provide proactive, emotional, and practical support to families and individuals affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) across Scotland. The role will focus on early engagement, wellbeing assessment, community building, and delivery of workshops and events, while ensuring accurate tracking of support outcomes and data.  
 
The successful candidate will also lead on support for young people living with Duchenne during 2 key transition points (primary to secondary school stage and moving into adulthood). They will work closely with the England-based Transitions Coordinator to deliver a joined-up programme of support across the UK. 

Specific Tasks:

1. Proactive Family Support 

• Initiate contact with newly registered families within agreed timeframes (email within 3 working days, call within 7–10 working days) 

• Contact to be made to all registered Action Duchenne members, knows to us in Scotland, to ensure the current support offer is clear  

• Provide ongoing support tailored to individual needs, including emotional wellbeing, physical health, housing, financial security, self-esteem and respect, decision-making, social engagement, quality of life, and access to care 

• Use the Action Duchenne Assessment Form and Action Plan to identify and respond to areas of concern 

2. Transitions Support 

· Lead transition support across all nations, with a focus on Scotland, for children and young people facing key life changes, including: 

· Moving between educational settings such as primary to secondary 

· Transitioning from paediatric to adult health services 

· Changes in mobility and independence (e.g. transitioning to using powerchairs)

· You will lead, but expected to work collaboratively with the England-based Transition Coordinator to ensure consistency and continuity of support across the UK 

· Develop resources, guidance, and workshops to support families through transitions 

3. Wellbeing Tracking and Outcome Measurement 

· Administer wellbeing questionnaires and record scores across key domains (e.g. physical health, emotional wellbeing, financial security) 

· Collaborate with families to co-create action plans and track progress 

· Ensure all data is entered into CRM (E-Tapestry or similar) within the allotted timeframe, i.e. immediately after or during the call. 

4. Community Engagement and Event Delivery 

· Organise and deliver regional meetups (minimum one per quarter) 

· Facilitate support groups (virtual and in-person) for parents, young people, and extended family 

· Support delivery of workshops and events aligned with programme schedule (e.g. music, life skills, employability) 

5. Stakeholder Collaboration 

· Liaise with external organisations including NHS care advisors and clinics, local authorities, counselling services, and other charities 

· Represent Action Duchenne in Scotland and build relationships with local networks 

6. Administration and Reporting 

· Maintain accurate records of all interactions and support provided 

· Contribute to quarterly reporting on activity delivery, capacity utilisation, and family impact 

· Support development of CRM processes and service delivery improvements 

7. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): 

· New contact acknowledgement email: within 3 working days 

· New contact follow-up call: within 7–10 working days 

· Families contacted per week: 12–15 hours of direct contact

As Service Manager, you will lead Visiting Housing Support services in South West Edinburgh. 

You’ll lead a team of eight staff and support people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or in unsuitable accommodation. The support will focus on empowering people to sustain their tenancies and live well in stable housing. 

You’ll be managed by the Head of Services and work within a peer group of 7 other managers across the organisation. This service is delivered in partnership with Right There and you’ll work with colleagues across the partnership, sharing a responsibility to develop and embed our partnership approach. 

Overview 

This service is commissioned by City of Edinburgh Council and is in year 2 of a 10 year contract. Your team will support 300-400 people each year through phone support, direct meetings in people’s homes, running drop in sessions and visiting shared houses and other temporary accommodation. Your team will help people understand how to bid for housing; help them access benefits; signpost services to help them with additional concerns including mental health support; and, when the time comes, your team will support them to set up their tenancy in a sustainable way.

Leading a team 

You will lead and line manage a team of eight practitioners and administrative support creating a high-performing, values-led culture where staff feel motivated, supported, and clear in their roles.

• You will take a lead role in the recruitment, onboarding and induction of new staff, ensuring they are equipped and confident from the outset.
• You will provide constructive feedback in real time as well as supporting staff through performance conversations, annual appraisals, and coaching. And, you’ll build a resilient team that can manage complexity, deliver high-quality support, and respond appropriately to safeguarding and risk. 
• You will recommend and organise training for your team and for individuals. 
• You will be a conduit for organisational wide information, ensuing staff feel supported and understand the bigger picture

Delivering the service 

You are responsible for all aspects of service delivery, from referral to sign off and everything in between. 

• You will generate referrals and oversee the referrals we receive, ensuring they are appropriate for our service and allocated on the basis of need and capacity. Through regular case reviews and audits, you will ensure practice is trauma informed and focused on outcomes. 
• You will lead on compliance and reporting, using internal and external systems to track performance and report on contractual requirements. You will use our case management system In-Form to ensure accurate, up-to-date recording that clearly evidences support, progress, and outcomes.
• You will manage a budget for expenses, training and project costs.
• You will ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate and SSSC standards, maintaining strong casework quality, accurate recording, and effective reporting across the service. 
• You will be the lead on safeguarding and managing risk, supporting staff to manage complex situations safely, with appropriate escalation and shared responsibility. 
• You will use data and learning to strengthen performance, drive improvements, and embed a consistent, high-quality approach across the service. 
• You will identify funding opportunities and support the development of funding applications 

Partnership working 

Partnership working is key to the success of this role and this service. You’ll play a key role in developing partnerships and continuously improving the service—working closely service providers in the local area, the local authority and other stakeholder to strengthen collaboration, identify opportunities to provide support, and drive better outcomes for the people facing homelessness. 

The key partnership however, is the relationship with Right There.

Four Square work with Right There to deliver visiting housing support in the West of the city. Right There are the lead partner and provide the service in the North West, while Four Square operate in the South West. We share some resources and benefit from the support and guidance of a Locality manager based in Right There. This is year two of a ten-year partnership and you will work with colleagues in Four Square and Right There to enhance the partnership and reap the benefits of cross organisation working. 

Three of your team are employed by Right There and you’ll work to ensure seamless management of these staff. You’ll also lead and participate in joint training as well as reporting performance into the partnership.

Walking With the Wounded (WWTW) supports those who have served in the British Armed Forces and their families, specialising in developing pathways to independence.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Veterans Liaison and Officer (VLSO) to join a team providing support to ex-armed forces personnel.  You will be home-based, with a caseload spread across Hertfordshire and occasionally adjoining counties.

We are looking for a dedicated individual who will empower ex-service personnel to regain their independence after a period of Mental Health (MH) Crisis, supporting them to thrive and contribute to our communities.  This role will join a team of existing VLSOs across the  East of England as part of a wider collaborative team within NHS England’s Op Courage - the Veterans’ Mental Health and Wellbeing service, and will work with other service charities and local support services. You will be home based with daily travel around your local region to support your clients and build relationships in the community, whilst working as part of the wider regional WWTW and NHS clinical teams.

We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter with prior experience of working with vulnerable adults; an individual who can work independently to set priorities that accurately reflect the client’s needs.  Your role will be to work with clients in the community (or their homes), facilitating intense support and analysing individual needs to create a support plan that will break down barriers to a successful stabilisation, whilst navigating their mental health pathway.
