The post holder’s primary duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Fundraising & Third-Party Events
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver Day One’s calendar of fundraising events, including challenge and third-party activities.
- Grow opportunities for individuals, teams, and partners to take part in events that raise funds and awareness.
- Manage event logistics, budgeting, risk assessments, and delivery on the day with our preferred suppliers.
- Steward flagship event participants, such as those taking part in the London Marathon and Great North Run.
- Ensure participants from other challenge events are handed over smoothly to the Relationship Fundraiser and Fundraising Assistant, who will lead on their stewardship and follow-up.
Awareness & Engagement Events
- Work closely with the Marketing & Communications Officer to plan and deliver awareness and engagement events such as exhibitions, conferences and networking events.
- Lead on all logistics and coordination from venue bookings and set-up to equipment, displays, and volunteer support.
- Represent Day One at events, helping to raise our visibility and strengthen relationships with partners, supporters, and professionals.
- Support the Marketing & Communications Officer with the delivery of campaigns like Major Trauma Awareness Week and other activities that raise Day One’s national profile.
Planning & Delivery
- Develop and maintain event plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring events are efficient and well-organised.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, venues, and event organisers to ensure value for money and quality delivery.
- Review and record event outcomes to support learning, improvement, and future planning.
- Balance multiple projects moving seamlessly from one event to the next or planning ahead for the year-round events calendar.
Teamwork & Values
- Work collaboratively across fundraising and communications to deliver joined-up campaigns and consistent messaging.

Role Overview
The Supporter Care Team are looking to hire two Supporter Care Assistant posts who’ll provide excellent customer care; engaging, involving and inspiring all supporters of Crohn’s and Colitis UK through building excellent relationships via a variety of communication channels. The role will involve dealing with donations, ensuring that our records are kept updated on our database, running reports, and undertaking general admin duties.
About You
You’ll have experience of working in a similar role, providing a high standard of customer care in a fast-paced environment, handling supporter queries and providing information in a concise and comprehensive manner. You'll need strong written and verbal communication skills to write engaging and inspiring content and messaging, you'll also be skilled at listening and responding to queries appropriately and be comfortable and effective at managing challenging situations.
You will have the ability to manage a busy workload and deadlines whilst taking ownership of problems to find a solution where possible, escalating to a manager where required.
Experience of Microsoft office is essential, as well as excellent administration skills and high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although you will need to be in the office for two days a week minimum. There will also be other times when you’ll need to be in the office for fulfilment tasks or to attend meetings such as our ‘All Staff Together’ days four times a year and you will also be required to attend fundraising events.

Job Purpose
We’re looking for a talented and motivated Communications and Engagement Officer who can effectively convey the life-changing impact of our work, motivate our community to volunteer, donate and fundraise to support our work, and ensure that the information and educational resources we provide reach those who need them most.
Key Responsibilities
Communications:
· Act as the first point of contact for IPWSO’s public email address and social media channels and ensure timely and appropriate replies.
· Manage IPWSO’s social media channels, creating original and engaging content and posts, and actively engaging with our audiences.
· Manage Google Ad Grant campaigns with an emphasis on growing our supporter base and increasing individual giving.
· Keep up to date with emerging trends in digital communications and social media and recommend potential new channels for fundraising and audience engagement.
· Support the development of videos for IPWSO, in cooperation with IPWSO’s Project Manager and other colleagues. The type of work to be undertaken includes providing support for content development, speaker recruitment, filming and editing, as well as helping source external agencies as needed.
· Maintain and develop the IPWSO website ensuring its security and that it functions both as an effective supporter acquisition tool and a means by which people can easily access information about PWS.
· Produce compelling newsletters and an Annual Report.
· Support the review and update of IPWSO’s Communications Strategy in line with its Strategic Plan.
· Uphold and showcase the IPWSO mission and brand.
· Help oversee the production and design of a range of educational resources for families and professionals.
· Oversee copywriting and proofreading within IPWSO.
· Support IPWSO’s members and liaise with its stakeholders internationally in support of our shared goals.
Engagement:
· Provide support for online events programmes, in cooperation with IPWSO’s Project Manager and the Online Events Committee. The type of support to be provided includes hosting Zoom sessions, supporting speakers, follow up administration including evaluations.
· Support IPWSO’s Famcare Board by facilitating their online meetings and assisting with their online events.
· Work with the Project and Operations Manager to provide membership support, liaising with IPWSO’s member organisations as needed.
· Proactively engage with member associations to promote IPWSO and also to understand their needs and how IPWSO can be of help.
· Work with the Project and Operations Manager on our Educational Outreach programmes. Work will include liaising with event organisers with regards to IPWSO’s booths at different conferences, ensuring follow up as needed (including help with preparation of PowerPoint slides), engagement follow up including data entry to update our database (Donorfy).

About the role
We are looking to recruit a talented Business Support Officer to join the Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement (P&A) team at King’s College London.
The Business Support Officer provides crucial and comprehensive support for the Business Operations team to help ensure the continued success and evolution of the department. It is a fast-paced and varied post that will offer operational and administrative support to cover a diverse range of tasks, from planning and delivering team engagement activity, through to recruitment and onboarding, to supporting on financial analysis and reporting. They work closely with the Business Manager KCL Philanthropy and the People & Talent Manager but will also be a part of the wider Business Operations unit that ensures P&A is an efficiently and smoothly functioning unit.
As a significant part of the role, the postholder will be working closely with the Business Manager to support the work of the Philanthropy teams. The role will work with frontline fundraisers, as well as colleagues across the Department, to support in the processes and administration involved in cultivating and securing philanthropic gifts. They will also play a key role in supporting the Business Manager to drive forward important engagement and coordination across the Philanthropy team. In doing so, they will help support the creation of a high performing culture and allow fundraisers to focus on maximising philanthropic opportunities.
The Business Support Officer will also work closely with the People & Talent Manager, supporting in areas such as recruitment process, developing and organising training programmes and opportunities, and generally supporting on work to create an excellent working environment. This will cover activity in the Philanthropy teams and also more broadly across P&A.
The role will suit an ambitious self-starter who can co-ordinate and manage projects and processes across a variety of work areas within business operations, being motivated by working with both people and data. Someone who can build strong relationships across teams to ensure that ways of working are optimised to support our fundraising efforts and our wider department. And someone who will embrace working in a role that requires a degree of autonomy, in the context of a team that prides itself on its open, friendly, and supportive culture.
This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 12 months. P&A has a hybrid working approach, with a minimum of 40% of time in the office. Typically, this equates to two days per week, but we’re very happy for colleagues to be in more frequently if they so wish.

In this role, you’ll assist the Supporter Journey Manager in developing and delivering an inspiring and impactful programme of stewardship for Arthritis UK’s contactable community. You’ll play a key part in creating integrated supporter journeys that build loyalty and inspire action, managing communications across multiple channels including email, post, and SMS.
You’ll also work collaboratively with colleagues across the Income and Engagement directorate to embed a fundraising and engagement culture, optimise supporter experiences, and provide insight-led evaluation to support future development.
To be successful as the Supporter Journey Officer, you will need:

The Supporter Retention Manager will be responsible for designing and delivering strategies that build supporter loyalty, increase lifetime value, and enhance the overall supporter experience. The role ensures that every supporter feels valued, engaged, and motivated to continue and grow their commitment to the organisation. Summary
The Church of England is continually striving to improve its safeguarding practices. The 2020 report by IICSA on the Church highlighted failures in respect of child sexual abuse and, more broadly, the challenges facing the Church to get safeguarding right.
The Church's aspiration is that safeguarding is not experienced and approached as a matter of administrative compliance. Rather, it should be what the Church is - something that flows from its core beliefs and values, part of its DNA.
The Church has made important and positive strides over recent years. There is, however, still much to be done to keep children and vulnerable adults safe, and to promote their well-being.
The Church is a complex collection of different bodies. Most of the safeguarding work is carried out locally within the 42 dioceses and cathedrals in England. This work is supported centrally by a National Safeguarding Team (NST).
Every diocese employs a Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (DSO)*. Many also employ Assistant Diocesan Safeguarding Officers (ADSOs). DSOs take the lead on safeguarding matters for the diocese - particularly the management of allegations of abuse by Church Officers**. Some cathedrals employ a Cathedral Safeguarding Officer (CSO) or have an agreement with their diocese for the DSO to take the lead on safeguarding operational matters.
In response to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) in the Anglican Church, published in October 2020, a regional model was piloted as a means of delivering Recommendation 1. Since the pilot concluded in March 2024, approval has been granted to implement the model across England and this work will begin from September 2024. Recruitment to these additional Regional Safeguarding Lead posts will enable the National Safeguarding Team to deliver IICSA Recommendation 1.
As Project Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of national safeguarding policy across the Church of England. Working closely with senior colleagues, you will assist in coordinating policy projects, tracking progress through governance processes, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. Your work will directly support the delivery of strategic priorities and the Church's commitment to creating a safer environment for all.

- A salary of £40,572 per annum, plus age-related pension contributions between 8-15% of salary. We will also match any pension contributions you make up to an additional 3% of your salary.

Community Engagement Officer
This role is a FT maternity cover contract over a 15 month period, 38.75 hours pw with some weekend and evening working included. Overseen by our Head of Fundraising, this role primarily covers running the Shelters events alongside supervising our non animal related Volunteers overseeing the running of our two Charity shops , actively recruiting and managing new corporate sponsors and donors including our Helping Hands offering and attending general networking events.
A full description of the role is below. There is a six month probationary period and the rate of pay will be £13.25 ph plus other staff benefits including a work place pension and company sick pay.
This role will suit an enthusiastic, hardworking, self-motivated individual who likes a split of indoor and outdoor working. A practical individual the applicant must be confident and personable dealing with all types of people. A full driving licence is required and an immediate start would be preferred with a closing date of 30th November 2025.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Community Engagement Officer
Responsible to: Head of Fundraising
Post Objective: Working under the direction of the Head of Fundraising, to take responsibility for any community engagements. This being Corporate led commitments, events and management of Volunteers and the Charity Shops.
Responsibilities :-
- Work effectively as part of the Management team reporting directly to the Head of Fundraising to ensure that the Shelter is run in accordance with the instructions of the Board of Trustees.
- In conjunction with the Head of Fundraising and Fundraising team promote a range of fundraising events and functions on behalf of the shelter throughout the year including regular weekend activities, working closely with and involving other members of the management team, other staff and volunteers. Look after the entire life cycle of each event from initial enquiry/plan to completion.
· In conjunction with the Head of Fundraising and Fundraising team oversee regular Corporate groups attending the shelter, encouraging them to fundraise beforehand and afterwards. Support and lead their CSR day at the shelter.
· Responsible for the acquisition of new corporate partners and the effective stewardship and development of existing corporate relationships to maximise long-term support for the organisation.
· Take the lead on any General Shelter talks within the local community.
· Collaborate with the Education team and support them with workshops where requested and relevant.
· Manage and oversee events on the day of happening, including problem solving, welcoming guests/supporters, directing event set-up, communicating with staff and organizing vendors. Ensure all event equipment such as gazebo’s, tables, chairs, information stand, marketing materials, etc are available and loaded onto vehicles the night before and then unloaded when returned.
- Communicate with other members of the Fundraising team to create effective advertisements for each event, creating paper based items such as posters and information or for the website/Facebook online advertisements for individual events., leaflets and online advertisement.
- Anticipate and plan for different scenarios and where necessary plan multiple events at once.
· Have overall responsibility for the promotion and performance of the onsite and offsite Charity Shops liaising regularly with and managing the Onsite Shop Supervisor and offsite Shop Manager. Ensure that the EPOS system incorporating the Retail Gift Aid process works correctly and captures GA where possible.
· Actively promote and coordinate the collection of items for fundraising recycling, via the individual Charity Shops.
· Coordinate the distribution, collection and careful recording of money spinners , individual money collection tins and food collection bins.
· Pro-actively seek out new collection sites and times, gaining local council licences where necessary and be involved and co-ordinate these. Includes street collections ( Christmas and Race week) via Cheltenham Borough Council, Pets At Home store collections and regular supermarket collections.
· Ensure events are well manned by Volunteers and as much support is given as possible to all activities profiling the Shelter.
· Post and monitor adverts for and then recruit and induct new Volunteers for various non animal related roles as demand dictates within the Shelter.
· Monitor, encourage and support those volunteers in all aspects of daily life within both the Shelter and at all external events.
· Record regular hours of all Volunteers, hold thank you events and organise recognition certificates for long service Volunteers.
· Attend various Networking events to make new contacts and keep up to date with all local and national Volunteering groups and news.
· Promote the Animal Shelter in a positive and pro-active manner by improving systems and methods and provide an exemplary lead to staff.
· Provide excellent customer care when in contact with members of the public, supporters, sponsors ,and other’s presenting a professional image at all times.
· Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the General Manager, Operations Manager or Head of Fundraising
