We are recruiting a Marketing and Communications Officer to champion and manage the PAPYRUS brand and support the delivery of our projects and services through data-driven campaigns, across email, organic social, and paid digital marketing channels.
What you will do:
Support the day to day running of social media platforms to promote our services, increase brand awareness and drive engagement with our audiences.
Act as the lead for paid social media and web campaigns, working closely with teams across the charity to fulfil individual campaign goals.
Work with different advertising platforms, including Meta, TikTok Ads Manager and Google Ads to promote PAPYRUS services to new audiences.
Produce regular campaign reports using analytical tools to optimise and inform activity on other channels.
Monitor the impact of marketing campaigns to identify and recognise trends within the data to inform future campaigns.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience of working in marketing and communications;
Proven track record of utilising a data-driven and goal-oriented approach to produce effective multichannel marketing campaigns;
Experience of working with different advertising platforms, including Meta, TikTok Ads Manager and Google Ads;
Experience in audience segmentation to create tailored user journeys;

Battersea is undertaking a transformational data strategy programme (known as Launchpad) aiming to transform how we collect, store and use information and data about our animals and supporters. As well as moving all of our data onto a new custom designed single system, we’re seeking to build the skills of our colleagues so that we’re ready to use our new system and make best use of the information we have to be a more data driven and insight led organisation.
This newly created role will work with key stakeholders across the charity to drive transformation and deliver the desired business outcomes and benefits relating to Launchpad, and be responsible for leading and executing the people and culture workstreams and other strategic change initiatives to support interconnected projects to achieve successful implementation and benefits realisation of this programme.
The role holder will be a great collaborator and influencer and will have the ability to work with a range of stakeholders to manage & deliver complex projects in a fast-moving environment with tight deadlines.

Hybrid working policy:
We operate a hybrid working model, with our office-based staff splitting their time between site based and home working. The British Society for Immunology is an influential and authoritative voice for immunology, a key scientific and health field that plays a central role in many of the most pressing global health challenges we face, including research into the COVID-19 pandemic, developing new treatments and vaccines against disease, and supporting ageing populations to experience healthier lives for longer. As Marketing & Communications Manager, you get to work at the heart of this exciting discipline, using your outstanding communication and project management skills to develop impactful content strategies across a wide range of activities, such as membership, events, training and policy projects, to ensure we engage effectively with our members and wider community and maximise our impact for immunology in the UK. On publishing (which will form approximately 20% of the role), the role-holder will be responsible for leading the strategic development of marketing activities for our three journals.
