The Disability Solutions West Midlands and Macmillan Cancer Support partnership are seeking to appoint a Welfare Benefits Caseworker for the Macmillan Welfare Benefits Service for Staffordshire to support individuals affected by cancer in securing appropriate welfare benefits/grants/services. Based at Disability Solutions (North Staffordshire Medical Institute), the successful candidates will have proven successful experience of working in the welfare benefits advice sector and will have an excellent working knowledge and experience of the welfare benefits system.  

The successful candidate will have a full driving licence and daily use of a car.

Role responsibilities:

The Staffordshire Macmillan Welfare Benefits Advice Service based at Disability Solutions West Midlands, supports people affected by cancer living in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

· You will be supporting people affected by cancer to claim disability-related welfare benefits,

· You will challenge unfavourable benefit decisions and help to prepare cases for appeal and where necessary, attend tribunal hearings with clients to support them through the appeal process.

The Welfare Benefits Caseworker will support the Senior Welfare Benefits Officer in delivering a high-quality welfare benefits advice service and in promoting and raising the profile of the Service with other professionals and with client groups.

They will be expected to establish and take responsibility for managing their own caseload.

The London Adult Service is a transformational service which aims to provide end-to-end support and casework to victims and witnesses of crime in London. Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

You will be part of the training delivery team that recruits and trains new volunteers for our out of hours mental health specialist helpline. You will provide support to the Training Manager by responding to volunteer emails and communications, preparing and updating the training material as required and taking active part in recruitment and development of SANE volunteers in line with agreed targets. You will ensure clear and timely information sharing and handover to colleagues and work closely with the service team to maintain high-quality service to our callers.

The role of Training Officer requires an open minded attitude, strong communication skills and ability to provide feedback to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Starting Salary: £16,200 pro rata, 22.5 hours (FTE £27,000 per annum)

As a Learning and Participation Officer, you will be responsible for creating and delivering learning and participation experiences, workshops and events with the support of a team of learning volunteers.

If successful, the main duties of your role will be:

Programme Delivery

· Develop, and implement educational programmes, workshops, participatory and family events that align with the organisation's goals and objectives.

· Development and creation of supporting documentation and physical resources used for the L&P programme.

· Coordinate, timetable and brief all Learning Volunteers for all activity on and off site.

· To work with the Head of Learning and Participation and wider Arboretum team to develop engagement opportunities for all visitors.

· Delivery and facilitation of both formal and informal workshops sessions (Term time and school holidays)

· To organise and manage all practical elements of visits and workshops at the National Memorial Arboretum including sourcing and preparing of any materials and resources.

· Design and deliver work experience programmes for students age 14 

· Support and deliver young people’s volunteering programmes- Duke of Edinburgh and Young Arboretum Ambassadors.

· Support on large scale events on site representing Learning and Participation.

· Coordinate the Lifelong Learning programme.

Systems and Documentation

· Supervise and maintain an efficient and effective bookings system, generating statistics and a dedicated learning database.

· Gather and monitor visitor data and case studies.

Curriculum Development

· Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and refine curriculum materials that are engaging, informative, and align with the organisation's educational goals.

· Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure program content remains relevant and up-to-date.

Internal and External Relationships

· Collaborate with RBL Remembrance team.

· Work closely with marketing and communication team to input into developing strategies to promote learning and participation programmes and events to the target audiences.

· Develop and build external relationships with schools , colleges and universities.

Feedback and Evaluation

· Implement assessment tools, surveys, and feedback mechanisms to gather participant input and measure program effectiveness.

· With the Head of Learning and Participation review and assess collected data to make informed decisions about programme  improvements and adjustments

The Arboretum is the UK’s year-round centre of Remembrance and part of the Royal British Legion. Home to over 350 memorials, including the nationally-important Armed Forces Memorial, it remembers the service and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve our country. The 150-acre site features around 30,000 maturing trees and an abundance of wildlife. Each year the Arboretum welcomes around 300,000 visitors, many of whom attend one of the 200+ events which take place across the site.

You’ll be interviewing patients who have been recently discharged from hospital to capture their experiences of hospital discharge and follow-up support. You’ll collate and report on their feedback, so it can be used by the teams of professionals working together to ensure discharge and post-discharge support works effectively for all. You'll have a key role in liasing with an integrated team of professionals to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the project and ongoing compliance with data processing agreements.

About the role

Travalyst is recruiting its first full-time COO. This is a broad role, supporting Travalyst’s CEO and a growing Executive Leadership team to enable delivery of this first-of-its-kind global initiative. About you

You will be able to demonstrate a track record in successful organisational design and implementation, including the development of effective but adaptable systems and processes and their roll-out across a complex organisation with multiple partners and stakeholders. You will manage and lead on finance, governance and risk, ensuring that Travalyst is run according to the highest standards for a UK not-for-profit organisation.

Areas of responsibility: 

Governance, Legal & Risk

· Be accountable for governance structures and processes, including reviewing and revising governance documentation annually

· Ensure compliance with UK statutory and legal obligations 

· Support the Travalyst Board and CEO to ensure effective risk management and mitigation 

· Support CEO with preparation of Board packs and attend Board meetings as an Observer
