We are currently looking for a highly motivated and committed Waking Night Concierge to join the team in East London to support clients medium to high support needs in a supported accommodation setting.
The hostel offers a range of services to clients at different stages in the process of change and works closely with an adjacent health and advice centre operated by partner agencies. Operationally, the service focuses on promoting recovery, providing assessment, support and resettlement services within a framework of active engagement and person-centred planning. The project is committed to supporting continued client participation in all aspects of its work.
In this role you will provide overnight waking cover for the service. You will be responsible for providing first contact and safeguarding our clients at night including dealing with emergencies. Other duties include carrying out regular health and safety checks, monitoring the CCTV system and various administration tasks. There is also an element of the role which will be ensuring the environment is kept to a high standard.
The rota for this role is 4 nights on, 4 nights off, 10.30pm to 8.30am each night of working.
About you
To succeed, you will have an understanding of the needs and support requirements of people with complex needs. You’ll also have the ability to establish an effective working relationship with these clients, be client centred and possess an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable clients. A good level of numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to use your own initiative are also required.
You don’t need to have direct experience; above all we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives

Coproduction & Activities Coordinator

As lead for coproduction across our Care & Supported Housing Department, the post holder will have a firm understanding of the breadth of strengths and skills of the people using our services, while also having an awareness of the operational requirements of the department. Maximising opportunities to work together, improving communication and fully embracing the experiences of all the people we support so that we continue to improve services, enhance support and offer solutions and services that are truly coproduced.
The role, will lead Hightown's coproduction group 'VoiceBox', overseeing all coproduction activities, seeking new coproduction opportunities, recording successes, outcomes and monitoring activities all in accordance with Hightown's coproduction strategy. Performance will be reported to Hightown's Board.
Additionally the post holder will also encourage, promote, and celebrate the wide range of activities carried out by our diverse services. This role will look to identify, highlight and promote the activities already being undertaken as well as seek new opportunities, funding, access and awareness of an increased range of activities for all the people we support to further enhance their lives and better their outcomes. They will encourage services to broaden their range of activities and oversee the introduction of an activities database.

About the team
Shelter North East has been based in Newcastle for over 25 years and we provide advice across 12 local authorities We have an advice team, a legal team, support services which are made up of a Housing First project, along with a DIYSA service and hub administrators. We also have a number of national staff who support our work, such as a Community Fundraiser, Community Organiser and an Involvement Officer. Our services are provided either from our hub base or through outreach locations, to give communities easier access to support and advice.
About the role
As an Engagement Worker, you will be pivotal in delivering Shelter’s purpose to defend the right to a safe home by enabling those we assist to enforce their housing rights. You will be a key member of our local team, delivering intensive support to a small number of individuals with multiple disadvantage to move from homelessness to sustaining a tenancy. Your role will be fundamental in supporting someone on their journey through Housing First. Mainly based in the West End of Newcastle, you will support up to 7 clients at any one time, applying the homeless link principles of housing first.
Also, you will be part of a wider team that promotes and supports housing rights awareness and activism within communities in order to achieve the North East Hub’s local priorities. About the role
This is an exciting role within the Volunteering Team. You’ll have responsibility for designing and piloting Shelter’s financial resilience volunteer programme in Leeds as well as supporting our nationwide volunteering programme. We’ll rely on you to use best practice volunteer management to design and pilot volunteering journeys from attraction, recruitment and training all the way through to ongoing support and exit. The Role
This role will ensure the organisation is following robust financial systems and processes; carry out all day-to-day accounting tasks; and ensure timely production of financial information to inform management decisions. Most tasks can be done from home, however some tasks such as banking and petty cash reconciliation will require you to attend our offices. We are seeking people who could deliver housing advice, guidance and support to clients. Working with a caseload in your local designated boroughs, you will produce comprehensive and high-quality assessments on their support needs; particularly their housing, employment and financial needs and follow the most suitable pathway for them.

- Some understanding of working in supported housing or floating support services, with a demonstrable knowledge of Housing and other related Legislation or a relevant qualification

Harrogate Homeless Project is seeking to recruit a Volunteer Coordinator to join the Fundraising and Marketing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the growth and development of Volunteering within the organisation. Working with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager, the position will look to develop opportunities for increasing income across fundraising and recruiting volunteers for all areas of HHP activities.
The post holder will be responsible for the recruitment, induction and training of all new volunteers to HHP, and providing ongoing support to staff on volunteer processes.

The Role
This role will work with HHP’s Management Team to develop opportunities for all areas within the Charity. Regular activities will include, developing recruitment campaigns to promote volunteering with HHP, ensuring all volunteers receive an induction and appropriate training, and identifying specific skills volunteers have developed and matching these to suitable volunteer opportunities to maximise the benefits for HHP and the volunteer.
There will be a particular focus on fundraising within this role, working closely with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager to actively build relationships with local businesses and organisations. Ø Obtain feedback from volunteers and/or employers on the volunteer experience and use the feedback to improve the volunteer/supporter journey.
Ø Build relationships with local corporate organisations to promote volunteering opportunities and recruit volunteers.
Ø Be responsible for all corporate volunteers through the entire volunteer cycle.
Ø Identify potential fundraising opportunities to be discussed with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager.

We provide support for 16 customers, we have two sites Hope House (10 bed supported housing) Doddsfield Rd (6 flats independent living with floating support).
Hope House - Support hours 24 hours 7 days per week, with sleep- in based on a shift rota pattern - (sleep-ins staff are paid additional to salary advertised).
Doddsfield Rd - Floating support (during working hours)

Staff work closely with Slough Community Mental Health Team (SCMHT) we also have a designated Occupational Therapist working along side supporting staff. As a Support Worker you will be expected to enable and support vulnerable individuals with complex needs to address this while maintaining their tenancy with the long term goal of living in an independent setting by providing flexible and individually tailored support package. Working with excluded and hard to reach customers can be challenging, however, with intensive support this challenge can be broken. You will need to be able to engage our customers in a non-judgmental way. You will also be responsible for dealing with emergencies that may arise during your shift whilst remaining calm and using initiative then writing up incident reports amongst other administrative tasks.
As a support worker, you will be working as part of a team as well as with external agencies such as London Probation Service, local substance misuse services, Mental health teams, and police amongst others. Sometimes customers may not be linked in with agencies when they entre the service, as a support worker it is part of your role to ensure they are receiving the correct support from agencies required. Ideally, you will have experience of working with vulnerable people or an understanding of the needs of homelessness. You will be required to support customers with managing their arrears; ensuring housing benefit is applied for as well as monitoring payments and acting appropriately if payments are suspended in order to ensure customer does not fall into any arrears.
You will be responsible for supporting the working shift pattern of the service which is a five week rolling rota which consists of working some weekends as well as long days.
There will be a rota for shifts, with working patterns of 7:30-15:30 and 12:30-20:30. There will be some weekend work.
