The Westminster Women’s Safe Space is a specialist gender and trauma informed Assessment Centre for women with complex needs who are at risk of, or have experienced domestic abuse, violence against women and girls (VAWG); and have multiple disadvantage. We have a great opportunity for people interested in working as part of an innovate women’s only service in a receptionist role and becoming part of this exciting new team achieving positive outcomes to support the women in their recovery and move on journey.

In this this vital role you will be providing receptionist duties to the service and the team, being the first point of contact for residents and others. Your duties will include:

• Managing the team inbox, keeping information systems up to date and ensuring smooth handovers to other team members.

• Log and follow up on building and maintenance repairs.

• Responding to queries from residents or agencies, following up to ensure outcomes.

• Working on a weekly rota and carrying out regular shifts (early’s, mid’s and late’s) including some weekends.

About you 

We are looking for proactive, flexible and empathetic people with good time-management and communication skills. You will also have the working ability to use different IT packages and systems. You may have personal experience of homelessness, and may have accessed recovery services yourself; or you will have a sound understanding of the issues faced by homeless people.

Above all we are looking for people with a genuine interest in supporting our clients and being part of the aims of our service.

About the role

This is an exciting role within the Volunteering Team. You’ll have responsibility for designing and piloting Shelter’s financial resilience volunteer programme in Leeds as well as supporting our nationwide volunteering programme. We’ll rely on you to use best practice volunteer management to design and pilot volunteering journeys from attraction, recruitment and training all the way through to ongoing support and exit. You’ll also be leading on evaluating the pilot and adapting our approaches based on learnings. About you

The Role

This role will ensure the organisation is following robust financial systems and processes; carry out all day-to-day accounting tasks; and ensure timely production of financial information to inform management decisions. Most tasks can be done from home, however some tasks such as banking and petty cash reconciliation will require you to attend our offices. About You

A proven track record of relevant financial administration experience is essential and competence in the use of Xero accounting software, Excel and other MS packages such as word and Outlook is essential. We began a contract with the Ministry of Justice in June 2021, delivering a pan London Housing Advice & Interventions Service, in partnership with St Mungo's. With Single Homeless Project staff co-located in probation offices, you will be working in close partnership with Probation Services, to support people on probation to either sustain their current accommodation or to secure new housing as needed. 

We are seeking people who could deliver housing advice, guidance and support to clients. Working with a caseload in your local designated boroughs, you will produce comprehensive and high-quality assessments on their support needs; particularly their housing, employment and financial needs and follow the most suitable pathway for them.

At Harrogate Homeless Project our vision is that nobody in the Harrogate District has to sleep rough. Each year we help hundreds of people experiencing homelessness to get the support they needto build confidence and move towards independent living.

Harrogate Homeless Project is seeking to recruit a Volunteer Coordinator to join the Fundraising and Marketing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the growth and development of Volunteering within the organisation. Working with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager, the position will look to develop opportunities for increasing income across fundraising and recruiting volunteers for all areas of HHP activities.

The post holder will be responsible for the recruitment, induction and training of all new volunteers to HHP, and providing ongoing support to staff on volunteer processes.

​The Role

This role will work with HHP’s Management Team to develop opportunities for all areas within the Charity. Regular activities will include, developing recruitment campaigns to promote volunteering with HHP, ensuring all volunteers receive an induction and appropriate training, and identifying specific skills volunteers have developed and matching these to suitable volunteer opportunities to maximise the benefits for HHP and the volunteer.

About Us:

Harrogate Homeless Project provides people experiencing homelessness with a safe place to stay and the support they need to build confidence and move towards independent living.

We provide support for 16 customers, we have two sites Hope House (10 bed supported housing) Doddsfield Rd (6 flats independent living with floating support).
Hope House - Support hours 24 hours 7 days per week, with sleep- in based on a shift rota pattern - (sleep-ins staff are paid additional to salary advertised).
Doddsfield Rd - Floating support (during working hours)
Team - 1X Contract Manager, 1X Team Leader, 3.2 Support Workers.
Current Vacancy - 1x FTE/1 x FTC Support Worker role who will be allocated to work with customers at both sites.
Staff work closely with Slough Community Mental Health Team (SCMHT) we also have a designated Occupational Therapist working along side supporting staff. Customers also attend Hope College which is facilitated via Slough Mental Health Team as part of their recovery process needed in preparation into independent living.
This is a great opportunity for any support worker to gain exceptional experience within the mental health field, based on the solid working relationship with (SCMHT) We have since implemented training directly from SCMHT to support staff with understanding Mental Health diagnosis and Managing Crisis with our customers in-house.

As a Support Worker you will be expected to enable and support vulnerable individuals with complex needs to address this while maintaining their tenancy with the long term goal of living in an independent setting by providing flexible and individually tailored support package. Working with excluded and hard to reach customers can be challenging, however, with intensive support this challenge can be broken. You will need to be able to engage our customers in a non-judgmental way. You will also be responsible for dealing with emergencies that may arise during your shift whilst remaining calm and using initiative then writing up incident reports amongst other administrative tasks.

As a support worker, you will be working as part of a team as well as with external agencies such as London Probation Service, local substance misuse services, Mental health teams, and police amongst others. Sometimes customers may not be linked in with agencies when they entre the service, as a support worker it is part of your role to ensure they are receiving the correct support from agencies required. Ideally, you will have experience of working with vulnerable people or an understanding of the needs of homelessness. You will be required to support customers with managing their arrears; ensuring housing benefit is applied for as well as monitoring payments and acting appropriately if payments are suspended in order to ensure customer does not fall into any arrears.

You will be responsible for supporting the working shift pattern of the service which is a five week rolling rota which consists of working some weekends as well as long days.

There will be a rota for shifts, with working patterns of 7:30-15:30 and 12:30-20:30. There will be some weekend work.

Work proactively with Slough Hostel team to handle the service caseload and support an effective team approach to meeting each customer's identified needs.

We are looking for a Lead Worker to join the Lambeth Temporary Accommodation Support Service. Our team are commissioned to work with, and support individuals placed in temporary accommodation by the London Borough of Lambeth.

You will:

• Assess the housing and other needs of people living in Temporary Accommodation in Lambeth
• Complete referrals for immediate and long-term housing options, and refer people to organisations that can help with other support needs
• Work creatively with the local authority, community-based services, staff and service users to ensure that support is personalised, effective and measurable

The Deputy Manager is responsible for the operational management of our specialist customer focused support services across the service. Service Management

About the role

As a Lived Experience Coordinator, you’ll deliver a programme of involvement activities with the aim of ensuring the views and experiences of individuals with lived experience of bad housing or homelessness informs all of Shelter’s work. We’ll also rely on you to deliver involvement activities across the organisation which will shape the ongoing design, delivery and governance of our work. People with lived experience will be involved in a range of ways too, including involvement groups, taking part in events within local communities, co-designing services and campaigns, sharing stories and speaking out about the housing emergency. The overriding aim is to work closely alongside people with lived experience to influence and steer the direction of Shelter’s work, so that lived experience informs everything we do.

About you

To succeed, you’ll need the ability to facilitate involvement groups and other activities to involve people with lived experience in Shelter’s work while ensuring a safe and inclusive space where everybody can contribute.
