Working within our Global Support Team, this role is responsible for liaising with parkrunners, event teams, ambassadors, and staff in order to either provide second line support or direct queries to relevant colleagues across the business. Utilising our internal systems to ensure that information is up to date and accurate, and that our general support process is of a high standard, the holder of this role will be required to develop detailed knowledge of specific areas.

About the role:

When a family member has a spinal cord injury, it can be difficult to acknowledge and accept that their injury will affect you too.

You might find it difficult to express and share how you have been affected by these events, especially to your loved one with the injury. Overwhelming feelings of guilt, helplessness, confusion and isolation are very common. 

Back Up’s Family Support team are there to help. Right from the point of injury, our Family Support Coordinators work together with the family and the injured person to create their own ‘Family Plan’ - making sure they have access to information and support throughout the rehabilitation journey.

As a Family Support Coordinator, you will build relationships with professionals to encourage referrals and manage a caseload. Whether it be meeting family members in a clinical setting, providing a listening ear from someone who ‘just gets it!’, or making referrals for ongoing support from a range of partners or statutory agencies – you will be passionate about being able to demonstrate the impact of what we do, and will see for yourself how Back Up quite literally transforms lives.

About the role 

There is plenty of variety in this role and as Fundraising Manager you will lead on the development and delivery of plans in Wales and the South-West (primarily Bristol and the surrounding area) to identify opportunities to engage with all types of supporters, both existing and new to generate income. 

Across the year you will manage our existing charity of the year partnerships with businesses and community groups as well as applying for new ones. You will market our places in the Cardiff & Swansea festivals of running, supporting our participants to meet their sponsorship targets. And you’ll submit applications to trusts and philanthropists in your region. 

Hours: 35 hours per week (Mon-Fri including occasional evenings and weekends) 

Location: Crisis Skylight South Wales, 163 St Helen’s Rd, Swansea, SA1 4DQ but with home working as an option in line with Crisis’ Hybrid Working Policy. There will an expectation to travel within the region to meet supporters regularly and to different Crisis Skylights once a quarter for team meetings.

You will provide day to day guidance to the team of administrators, as required. There will be a shared responsibility for administrative and financial admin tasks as well as some individual responsibilities.

The role is based in our Salisbury office (Monday to Thursday) and you will be working from home on Friday. The role occasionally requires some weekend or evening working.

Signalise Co-op Booking Coordinator

Signalise is a platform co-op providing British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreters. We have an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator to join our dynamic and supportive team. You will work closely with our Communication Services Team Leader to provide a high quality and efficient service, helping the business to achieve agreed targets whilst working to the co-operative’s ethos.

Responsibilities will include coordinating the provision of communication professionals for Deaf/Hard of Hearing people across the North West for medical (including mental health) appointments and for other work in a variety of sectors (education, child protection, conference, employment,  legal settings etc). An exciting opportunity has arisen at Mind CHWF to join our Psychological Therapies and Wellbeing team as a Wellbeing Network Admin Coordinator. You will join a small team of housekeepers working mainly at our Community/Justice/ Counselling services. Well-managed spaces make our buildings great places to be ensuring they are efficient, secure and pleasant environments. You will work with the Soft Facilitates Manager to carry out planned cleaning duties from a schedule of works. You will also need to build in capacity for reactive cleaning as required. 

A key part of the role will be to work with project managers and the Soft Facilities Manager to ensure solid housekeeping provision. You will ensure the efforts of you provide a high level of cleanliness, and cleaning complies with health and safety standards too.

You will have a usual place of work at either Katherine Price Hughes House, Highbury or Wincott Street, Lambeth as we have two Housekeeping roles available, but be required to work flexibly across the property portfolio if business needs demand this. You will facilitate end of licence/tenancy cleaning preparing these spaces for new residents, or you could be asked to provide cleans between room hire in our counselling and our community spaces. The post holder will ensure their working practices are safe and compliant with the organisation’s health and safety guidelines. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

PEOPLE SUPPORT 

• To support the Soft Facilities manager in achieving excellent housekeeping across Strides. This will be discussed in monthly supervisions. 

FINANCIAL COMPETENCE 

• To work with the soft facilities manager in keeping costs to a minimum.

• To follow instruction around recording work as guided by the soft facilitates manager. 

• To update portals and systems relating to flow of works, both scheduled and reactive if required.

SERVICE DELIVERY 

• To follow the agreed schedule of works in each building.

• To support the team with room inspections. 

• To have an awareness of risk in working practices. 

• To keep abreast with current COSHH and Hygiene regulations and other matters relating to safe working practices.

• To monitor the standard of our buildings ensuring standards are consistently high.

We require a housekeeper who can demonstrate the following competencies to a high level. • An ability to communicate effectively in English, and an ability to communicate with people whose first language is not English.

Synchronicity Earth is a growing organisation with an expanding team, and we are now looking for an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of all HR function within the team and organisation, building on the structures already in place to ensure we are a supportive and dynamic place to work.

Reporting directly to the Head of Relationships & Operations, this new role will bring together all current HR function, focussing at first on streamlining our processes from recruitment to performance review, as well as ensuring we have all necessary policies and guidance in place. The role will also be responsible for developing the skills and welfare of our team, creating a strong Learning & Development programme which supports career development at all levels.

Key responsibilities will include the following: 

• Work with the Board and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to assess capacity gaps across the organisation and how best to fill them.
• Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding and offboarding).
• Provide support, guidance, and advice for managers in conducting and concluding employee relations cases, including absence, performance management, disciplinary and grievance cases, ensuring adherence to policy. 
• Coordinate and administer company benefits (including health benefit), and research other ways to improve our employee experience.
• Create and manage organisation-wide and individual employee learning programmes. 
• Be independent point of contact for entire team for all welfare and professional issues, providing guidance on support available.
• Support Synchronicity Earth’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Working Group. 
• Review our staff handbook, and company HR policies and procedures ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect relevant legislation and best practice. 
• Be first point of contact with HR & HSE consultants. 
• Identify and implement (subject to budget) suitable HR systems that will help to automate Synchronicity Earth’s’ processes and lead to greater self-service of HR matters.

About you 

Essential skills and experience 

• Level 5 CIPD qualified.
• A proven track record in managing and HR function.
• Experience of developing new policies and procedures for an organisation in line with current best practice.
• Experience of supporting individuals to develop their skill base and careers.

The Ogden Trust is recruiting for a Programme Officer to support the delivery of our informal science learning programmes across England, working with universities and employers.

The Ogden Trust is a charitable Trust, supporting the teaching and learning of physics.  The Trust supports a range of initiatives, programmes and projects to promote the teaching and learning of physics.

The Programme Officer will report to the Programme Manager for the Opportunities for All strand of the Ogden strategy, which includes our work with universities to support physics outreach and public engagement and physics-related internships for 16-18-year-olds. They will manage the administrative and reporting side of the programmes, and organise related events.

Who we are looking for

You will need to have a good understanding of the informal science learning landscape and higher education in England and an interest in physics in particular. You must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with outreach professionals, academics and employers in physics-related sectors.

An excellent team player, you will have experience of working in programme administration and events organisation, with strong communication and organisational skills. A track record of building successful working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, particularly higher education and industry and the ability to work on your own initiative are valuable.

Role purpose

This role would suit someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a charity finance role, who has experience or knowledge of all the core accounts department processes and some understanding of different charity income streams. You might be studying for an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT or ACCA) or be qualified by experience.

A training package may be available for an applicable accounting qualification.

Responsibilities

• Day to day management and systems administration of Xero accounting software, expenses software (ExpenseIn), and other linked financial applications.
• Carry out monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, debtors and creditors, and set up payment runs.
• Prepare monthly management accounts journals (prepayments, accruals, depreciation, deferred and accrued income) and control account reconciliations.
• Being the systems administrator for the Fundraising CRM system (Donorfy) and linked platforms and applications (e.g. JustGiving, Stripe, EventBright).
• Database management of Donorfy and linked platforms and applications.
• Reconcile data between Donorfy and Xero, and where necessary, with other linked platforms and applications.
• Ensure Gift Aid returns are correctly submitted to HMRC (via Donorfy)
• Support with the development and implementation of new systems and procedures.
• Provide training and induction to new joiners in using Donorfy and ExpenseIn as well as for any other relevant platforms and applications.
• Business partnering - provide day to day support to the wider organisation with finance and fundraising system queries, payment information, and supplier queries.
• Working with budget holders to provide transaction reports, income and expenditure reports, and updates on payments from finance and fundraising systems to assist them to manage their project budgets.
• Assist Finance Director and Fundraising team where necessary with financial reporting to funders.

Skills/ experience

Essential

• Proven experience in all areas of accounts - purchase and sales ledger, banking and cash management, basic management accounts.
• Experience of Xero or similar cloud-based finance system.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly excel and an ability to quickly learn new systems.

Desirable

• Accountancy qualification or studying for (e.g. AAT, ACCA).
• Experience of Donorfy or similar CRM system.
• Experience of dealing with charitable income and an understanding of how to account for restricted grants.
• Experience of liaising with auditors and other external stakeholders.
