At the Royal British Legion we’re looking for a passionate and skilled marketing manager to join our Fundraising Directorate and lead a talented team driving supporter acquisition as our Senior Supporter Acquisition Manager. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our fundraising efforts and play a vital role in supporting the Armed Forces community.
The Supporter Acquisition team is responsible for attracting new supporters through a wide range of appeals, products, and marketing channels. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in multi-channel marketing campaign management, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector, who can bring strategic insight, creativity and drive to enhance our programmes.
In this role, you’ll lead an experienced team of two managers and two co-ordinators, as well as relationships with key suppliers. The marketing programmes include face-to-face fundraising (from stands in retail space or expos/outdoor events and door-to-door), DRTV advertising, print campaigns, payroll giving and 3rd party marketing. You will also oversee development projects that may involve digital fundraising initiatives. A standout aspect of the role is leading in the creation of advertising for the Poppy Appeal—the nation’s largest and most iconic charity appeal.
As a seasoned senior marketing professional, you’ll hit the ground running, leading your team to deliver and optimise marketing plans while helping to shape acquisition strategies and inform supply needs. You’ll lead by example, providing confident leadership, coaching, and motivation to your team, and working collaboratively to ensure supporter acquisition campaigns are effective and aligned with strategic goals.
You’ll be comfortable with complexity, diving into the detail of a wide and varied portfolio of appeals and products. From campaign planning and performance tracking to systems, budgeting, and KPIs—you’ll bring a strong grasp of operational delivery as well as strategic oversight and the ability to confidently navigating challenges.

We are recruiting one full time, permanent Funding Officer who will predominantly support our work across Somerset, Wiltshire and Swindon. You’ll be part of our wider South West team, supporting across the region and working day-to-day in a team of fellow Funding Officers, supported by a Funding Manager.
Ideally you will live in or near either Somerset, Wiltshire or Swindon and have good knowledge of at least one of these areas. This role is classed as mobile working which means you will be expected to work from and visit various locations across the area, including your home. The ability to drive and have access to a vehicle is therefore beneficial, although not essential.
- You will assess applications for funding and manage grants using local knowledge, best practice and thematic expertise and you will harness the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making.
- Being responsible for supporting local people and communities, you will have a strong understanding of our vision, our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and our funding products.
- Being responsible for a pipeline of projects you will need to understand and respond to the different needs of our customers by providing advice and considered feedback, and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations.
- You will also ensure that both grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker. You will manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, support organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.
The role will be part of our delivery of our new strategy, 'It starts with Community', and you will need to work within the Fund’s policies and procedures and the necessary legislation, in a way that is in line with our vision and principles.
You will represent the Fund, including at funding fairs and external meetings, creating opportunities for people to come together. You will share learning from your role with other colleagues so that we can maximise our impact.

About Galop’s Policy and Evidence work
This is a hugely exciting time to be joining Galop, with flexibility to think long term about how best to drive change and do something new and different. Fundraising

i. To be available to attend major events for The Cinnamon Trust, making sure that all holidays are worked round our events diary.

v. To manage volunteers at an event and give a briefing at the beginning of the day regarding objectives.
vi To seek any permissions required for an event and complete risk assessments required.
vii To make sure that furniture and other equipment is available at each event.
viii To make sure all materials for an event are event appropriate (eg: could be a volunteer driven event or PP) and well stocked.
ix To account for stock and merchandise for each event and fill out request forms that will be logged against each event.
x. To make sure that any cash taken at an event is kept safe.
xi. To liaise with the PR and Marketing department regarding events and to supply photos and copy for their use. To work with the PR and Marketing team regarding fundraising campaigns and promotions.

Summary and key purpose
This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. You will ensure that our donors receive excellent care.
Our Individual Giving programme will incorporate one-off donations, regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals and in-memory giving. You will do this, with the support of our recently appointed fundraising agency, who you will manage our relationship with week by week.
A critical element of the role will be how we market ourselves to potential new donors, taking them on an emotional engagement journey in order to solicit regular gifts.
Your expertise and skills:
To excel in this role, you will need prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, with an understanding of good stewardship practices. You should be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, working across teams and meeting multiple deadlines. Your excellent relationship management skills will enable you to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and gather information on new projects. You must have a thorough understanding of individual giving, developing donor journeys and experience of work with agencies.
Key responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of the regular giving programme, project managing appeals and overseeing the thanking process for individual donors.
- Create, plan, deliver and evaluate multi-channel, compliant, insight-led, supporter-centric campaigns to engage and drive action from new and existing supporters.
- Manage our newly appointed fundraising agency, and in doing so, help deliver an ambitious appeal programme and income target.
- Review and develop operational plans for individual giving (including regular giving, in memory, digital fundraising and appeals) working to achieve agreed targets.
- Communicate and document key performance indicators across individual giving appeals. Ensuring you provide commentary to accompany results reporting, drawing on insights and the wider picture to add context and make recommendations from your learnings.
- Work with the fundraising agency and RABI communications team to produce and edit appropriate collateral.
- Devise and deliver supporter communications, including stewardship activity, welcome journey content and appeal communications.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Programme Manager is a key role in the Rio Ferdinand Foundation’s isle of Ireland team. This post is responsible for managing an exciting new cross-border PEACE Academy programme in Belfast and Sligo, funded by the Special EU Programme Body (SEUPB) PEACEPLUS programme https://www.seupb.eu/
The aim of this new three-year programme, is to deliver and evidence a PEACE Academy pathway of engagement, learning, social action and employability that will inspire young people from communities in Northern Ireland and Ireland to create shared experiences and build a long-term response to sectarianism, racism and hate on a cross community and cross border basis.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will:
§ Establish and develop our new PEACE Academy Programme in partnership with Glentoran FC and Sligo Rovers FC together with a network of grass-root partners, as well as community policing and other strategic stakeholders.
§ Line manage a new programme staff team including 2x Regional Coordinators, a part time Training Lead, part time Monitoring Officer, a part time Admin Officer and a part time Finance Officer as well as sessional staff.
§ Lead and manage a three-year cross border and cross community youth and community development programme engaging Catholic / Nationalist / Republican (CNR), Protestant/ Unionist/ Loyalist (PUL), and newcomer communities.
§ Oversee the development of sessions which utilise youth culture as a platform for personal development, working with your staff team to design, deliver and manage engaging sessions and opportunities utilising music and the creative arts, sport, and digital media.
§ Develop, and oversee the delivery of our youth development pathway across both regions, including twice weekly sessions, workshops, seminars and accredited training pathways, mentoring, cross-border events and initiatives, careers events and pathways with a range of commercial partners, and strategic stakeholder engagement.
§ Quality assure the delivery of sessions and outputs linked to the personal development of young people.
§ Encourage and support the involvement of volunteers from the local community.
§ Develop positive relationships with key strategic partners involved in the project and ensure links are made and information shared with appropriate agencies.
§ Work closely with our CEO and Director for Ireland & Northern Ireland on the strategic positioning and development of the Foundation and the legacy of the PEACE Academy programme.
