About the charity

Our mission is to build hope, enable lasting change, and end homelessness for people in East London. We are here to help people in our local community to build their new beginnings, by:

  • Providing a safe place - to make sure that people experiencing homelessness have somewhere safe to stay as they begin to rebuild their lives
  • Offering support - to encourage and enable people to build a better future for themselves, through the provision of personalised support, educational and life skills opportunities
  • Building resilience – to build networks of support, and empower people to navigate services with confidence and be a proactive member of their community outside of and beyond life at Caritas Anchor House.

We are going through an exciting period of change and growth, having recently launched an ambitious strategic plan, with goals including having a positive impact on the lives of more people experiencing homelessness than ever before.

With great ambition comes the need for great people, and we’re looking for someone fantastic to support our Team Manager in leading the Complex Needs team throughout this one-year maternity cover.

About the role

This post will provide a critical role in supporting the Team Manager for the day-to-day development and management of the Complex Needs team and its service delivery. The role will also deliver assessments, support planning, risk management, and reconnection/move on for residents.

We are looking for someone to take a positive, trauma-informed approach to work with residents with complex needs and challenging behaviour and conduct regular reviews of Support Plans and risk assessments as required.

It is essential that you keep abreast of current housing legislation, welfare benefit legislation, and other matters relevant to successful support and move on of residents and liaise effectively with the external Outreach Workers, Housing Support Workers, specialist workers, police, and other agencies.

About you

To be successful in this role you’ll have the following experience:

  • Working with vulnerable adults including people with complex needs, including managing the provision of a safe operating environment in a relevant context.
  • Experience in case management and delivering best practices around; assessment of need, high-quality personalised support or advice services to vulnerable adults, including people with complex needs.
  • Experience in using case management information systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressured environment, with multiple competing priorities and to quickly adapt to new situations.
  • Self-sufficient, tenacious, and highly organised with the ability to accomplish goals according to deadlines, and the flexibility to juggle a variety of tasks.
