Leadership & Line Management

· Provide leadership and line management to service managers and project leads.

The Athlete Learning and Development Manager will design and coordinate a comprehensive learning and development programme for emerging athletes, their parents and caregivers, and alumni. This will be delivered both in person and online.

Essential Skills and Experience

Job Summary

• Oversee the advancement of leadership development as a core strategic priority for MU

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in Central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. We’re looking for a creative and entrepreneurial individual with a passion for using sport to help children and young people across the South of England to explore and respond to the good news of Jesus.

About Activate 

Activate is a sport and physical activity-based programme, formed in 2018, seeking to build community through wellbeing that invigorates faith.  Activate seeks to release God’s people to join in his mission through sport and physical activity in the areas surrounding Bushy Park. This includes gathering, encouraging and empowering local Christians involved in sports ministry, including expressions of chaplaincy and missional communities centred around sports clubs, centres, educational settings and gyms.  A number of local churches across denominations and Dioceses have been supporters of the project. 

In the past Activate has supported sports projects in local schools, an activity-based church service, wellbeing cafe sessions, exercise sessions for the elderly and youth activities.  The successful candidate will be involved in re-launching Activate’s mission after a break due to staff changes. 

About your team

With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of a national-focused sports team at SU, as well as the south team with a regional focus and the local context with Activate. You’ll work out of the office of St Peter’s Church, West Molesey, benefiting from the support of a local parish-based team including clergy and youth workers. You’ll contribute your expertise in a variety of settings, ranging from urban and suburban to coastal and rural areas across the south. Your first focus will be stewarding our 3,000 fundraisers - overseeing segmented email journeys, managing a £40k prizing fund, and improving supporter care through deeper, more personal touchpoints. What You’ll Do
This role enables the DEC and our 15 member charities to effectively respond to humanitarian emergencies and provide timely, quality, community-focused assistance.

As an Accountability & Learning Officer, alongside your efforts to contribute to our learning and growth, you will shape our work to influence key policy agendas. You’ll be working across such areas as climate adaption, flexible funding for humanitarian action, and locally led humanitarian responses.

Engagement Officer

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Locality Impact directorate and focus on Engagement in their area.

Position: S11308 Engagement Officer

Location: Home-based East of England, specific focus Essex. However, extensive and frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Salary: Circa £11,500 per annum (FTE circa £27,400 per annum)

The Role

Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Engagement Officer will work with colleagues across the locality to deliver against engagement activity.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Planning, facilitation and evaluation of the online Stroke Information Programme

· Identifying, building and maintaining key relationships with key stakeholders.

· Developing and enabling peer support and self-sustaining stroke communities in the locality.

· Providing support and management to volunteers and people with Lived Experience.

· Supporting delivery of Engagement and Service projects in Essex.

About You

You will have experience/understanding of:

· Involvement and developing support using Co-Production.

· Community Development.

· Online Facilitation

· Recruiting, managing and developing volunteers.

· Working in partnership with other organisations, ideally in voluntary, health and social care.

The Role

This role works as part of the Technology team to manage and successfully deliver various running technology projects that underpin the organisation’s strategic goals.

Key accountabilities and main responsibilities include:

• Executing a variety of project management administrative tasks as directed by the project manager.
• Monitoring project progress and creating project status reports for project managers and stakeholders.
• Assisting with resource scheduling so that team members have the resources they need to complete their tasks.
• Scheduling stakeholder meetings and facilitating communication between the project manager and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
