The People & Culture Advisor role will work closely to support the Head of People Culture & Place (PC&P) to deliver the PC&P strategy.  You will provide efficient and effective management of Human Resources (HR) services and ensure Stewardship’s values and culture are woven into all areas of our people activities.

SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. We are looking for people interested in providing compassionate support to people affected by mental health problems. This includes supporting people with severe mental illness, and carers, families and friends.

In our main SANEline Support Officer position, you will help our service to provide support by telephone, email and text, as well as supporting a team of our skilled volunteer. SANEline is a confidential service open 365 days per year, providing support to service users with a wide range of mental health problems.

This is a Bank role of 2-3 shifts per week, including some weekend work, with working hours of 2.30-10.30pm, on-site at our London office.

Working on SANEline services requires empathy and resilience and we take pride in providing a nurturing environment and unwavering support to our teams. We are keen to hear from people with counselling, psychology or therapy qualifications.

As a Senior CRM and Data Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting staff across NCVO in making the most of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Acting as the go-to expert, you’ll provide guidance, training, and technical support to ensure the CRM is used confidently and effectively across the organisation. We are recruiting a Dad Matters Coordinator to help us reach more families in Brent. This is a great opportunity for someone with parenting experience to support new dads at a critical time in their parenting journey.

The Dad Matters Coordinator will support dads with attachment and bonding, mental health and access to services. You will have the ability to work with professionals and healthcare services to ensure dads are engaged, supported and heard within clinical pathways. Community Project Lead

IPSEA is the leading charity in the field of SEND law in England, and we provide free and independent legal advice and support to families of children and young people with SEND. We also provide training on the SEND legal framework, and we influence policy at both a local and national level.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Community Project Lead to join our team and lead the development of our advice services for under-served communities. This two-year, fixed-term role is a key part of our strategy to reach groups who may not traditionally engage with IPSEA’s support - including children and families with English as an additional language, cared-for children (children in care), migrant children, detained children, and Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

The project builds on a detailed scoping exercise we’ve recently completed, which involved working closely with a wide range of charities and organisations that support these communities. The resulting report outlines the barriers they face, and will form the foundation for this project and directly inform the work you will lead.

What you’ll do 

• Design and develop pilot advice services that are tailored to the needs of under-served communities, using findings from IPSEA’s research 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, charities and service providers to co-produce accessible services 

• Collaborate with IPSEA’s advice, legal and policy teams to address the barriers these communities face in accessing SEND legal advice 

• Contribute to and share outreach materials, training resources and toolkits to support families of under-served communities and empower local advocates 

• Plan and lead workshops, focus groups and community events to raise awareness, gather feedback and enhance service delivery 

• Monitor and report on project outcomes and impact, providing regular updates to IPSEA staff and stakeholders

About StreetVet

StreetVet is a fast-growing national charity, committed to providing free vet care to the pets of those experiencing homelessness and to keeping pets and owners together to maintain the human-animal bond. StreetVet relies on its team of over 250 vet and nurse volunteers in 23 locations around the UK to provide free veterinary treatment, funded by grants, corporate and private donors and partners. Since inception in 2016, the charity has treated nearly 3,000 pets and has won numerous awards including the Vet Trust Award for the Most Trusted Veterinary Charity, Purina Better with Pets Prize and Homeless Link Excellence Award for Excellent Support.

Title: Volunteering Officer

Duration: Permanent, full-time

Reporting to: Head of Volunteering

Responsible For: All StreetVet volunteers

Works With/Key Contacts: Colleagues across the organisation, volunteers, potential volunteers

Location: Home – remote working with regular travel to visit outreach locations (mostly located in the South and East of the UK) and attend industry events for recruitment drives

Contracted hours: 37.5 hour work week (flexible working available)

Holiday: 25 days per year plus national holidays 

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 dependent on experience

Main purpose of the role

The Volunteering Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the StreetVet volunteering programme. This role will have overall responsibility for recruiting, onboarding, and supporting StreetVet volunteers as well as establishing positive working relationships with volunteers to ensure they have a fulfilling and rewarding volunteering experience.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the recruitment and induction of volunteers.

· Provide effective and timely administration of the volunteering programme.

· Provide highly effective support to all StreetVet volunteers to ensure a positive volunteering experience and offer training opportunities to develop volunteers in their roles.

· Provide regular communication to volunteers e.g. a regular newsletter, to update them on information relevant to their volunteering and keep them up to date of StreetVet’s wider activities, achievements and plans.

· Implement initiatives to reward and recognise volunteers for their efforts and engage with national initiatives e.g. Volunteer Week to celebrate the contributions of StreetVet volunteers.

· Arrange opportunities for StreetVet volunteers to come together and share their experiences of volunteering at StreetVet.

· Work with the Head of Volunteering to implement processes to gather feedback on the volunteering experience at StreetVet (e.g. volunteer surveys, exit interviews) and create relevant action plans to continue with areas of good practice and implement suggestions/recommendations where feasible.

· In collaboration with the Head of Volunteering, provide support, training and guidance to staff managing/working with volunteers.

Luminary Ltd provides training, employment and community to some of the most disadvantaged women in London. We use baking as a tool to guide women towards employability and independence. We work alongside women who have experienced gender-based violence and live with ‘multiple disadvantage’. Our primary focus is helping these women achieve employment and reach independence - breaking the cycle of poverty, violence and disadvantage.

How we achieve our Mission

Over our two-year programme, women learn to bake, gain a catering qualification and develop transferable skills such as budgeting, interview techniques and resilience.  Women gain valuable work experience through our sister organisation, Luminary Bakery, as well as being paired with a volunteer mentor who helps her develop her career next steps.

Luminary consists of two entities working towards a shared purpose.

Luminary Ltd is a registered charity that provides training and support programmes for women who have experienced violence and disadvantage. Luminary Limited runs the Employability Support Programme, offering training, mentoring, and trauma-informed guidance to women on their journey to independence.

Luminary Bakery Ltd contributes to Luminary’s social impact by offering work experience placements, apprenticeships, and job opportunities for graduates of the charity’s training programmes. Luminary Bakery produces beautiful, artisanal baked goods and is working toward generating sustainable income to fund the charity.

The role you are applying for is with Luminary Ltd (LL), the charity arm of Luminary. While our charity and business work closely together, LL is the employing entity for this position.

The role
Luminary is entering an exciting phase in its development, transitioning from a small, founder-led start-up into a medium-sized charity. Over the past two years, we’ve experienced growth in our income, primarily through trusts and foundations. Building on this momentum, and with generous support from Comic Relief, we are now recruiting our first in-house fundraiser.

Location: Hybrid (3 days based on Luminary site and 2 days from home)

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to define and meet annual income targets from various income streams, identifying opportunities for income growth. 
•  Research, identify and apply for grants and funding opportunities from trusts and foundations, and corporates. 
• Research, cultivate and manage relationships with prospective funders and individual donors. 
• Develop compelling funding proposals and pitches.
• Support the development and delivery of a communications strategy to support fundraising.
• Organise and support fundraising campaigns, events and initiatives to engage donors and stakeholders. 
• Monitor and report on fundraising performance, agreeing realistic targets and taking steps to maximise Luminary’s funding opportunities in order to fulfil financial targets.
• Take an active role in the Senior Leadership Team to ensure efficient management of the charity and attend quarterly Trustee Board meetings.
• Stay up-to-date with trends and best practices in fundraising, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Essential:

Due to the role responsibilities, it is a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the post holder is female, permitted under Schedule 9, part 1 of the Equality Act 2010

Five years + experience in fundraising contributing to strategy as well as delivery.

Demonstrated  success in fundraising  with a proven track record of securing significant income from trusts and foundations, and/or major donors and corporate partners.
Skilled in relationship-based fundraising with experience of donor cultivation and stewardship to secure long-term partnerships.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop compelling funding proposals, persuasive pitches and impactful reports.
Experience in financial planning including creating and managing budgets, and financial analysis skills to track and report income performance.
Strategic and innovative thinker able to identify, assess and pursue new funding opportunities aligned with charity goals.
Highly organised, self-motivated and proactive with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
A genuine passion for Luminary’s mission, with a strong commitment to empowering women and creating social change.

Desirable:
-Experience in individual giving.
-Knowledge of social media strategy and experience running successful social media fundraising campaigns.

Mayhew is an exceptionally special animal welfare charity, and we are looking for an equally special candidate to be our Canine Behaviourist.  Our team ensure that every dog and cat in our care receives the expert and personalised care s/he needs, delivered with the understanding, empathy, compassion and love that every dog and cat deserves. 

Our Home in North-West London accommodates our Kennels, Cattery, Veterinary Clinic and more. Our kennels house up to 15 dogs at any one time meaning that our Canine Behaviourist is able to truly get to know each dog as an individual and directly impact his or her outcomes. We are looking for a hands-on, practical, do-er who has the academic knowledge to understand rescue dogs and the practical experience in a shelter environment to design and deliver the training and wellbeing programmes required to create successful rehoming outcomes for each of those pets.

This role sits within the Kennels Team, reporting to the Head of Kennels. Being a team player, who is good with people as well as animals, is an incredibly important part of the skill set we’re looking for. At the same time, we need an energetic self-starter who can work under their own steam to ensure that every dog in our care is having the best day possible and is continuously progressing on his/her journey through Mayhew to a loving and happy forever home.

As you’ll already know from your prior experience, this role can be physically and emotionally demanding but it will also be hugely rewarding; and that is even more so at Mayhew where this post-holder can really help shape things and where we have a manageable number of dogs in our care. Our Canine Behaviourist will:

• Love dogs and be passionately committed to the achievement of each one’s best possible outcome
• In-take Assess all dogs coming into our care and be closely involved with the Head of Kennel’s in-take decisions (bearing in mind that Mayhew receives dogs from some challenging sources including hoarding and poor welfare environments, and dogs with no known history)
• Rehab Assess all dogs in our care to understand them in their current state and identify their training and behaviour-modification needs
• Design and implement their training and behaviour modification plans with support from our Clinical Animal Behaviourist, ensuring continuous improvement and sustained good welfare; being agile and humble enough to change plans when things aren’t working
• Coach and support the Kennel and Animal Carers so that they can help with the delivery of training and behaviour modification plans, helping them feel included and engaged, and embrace up-skilling;
• Ensure the health & safety of the Animal Carers and Volunteers whilst caring for the dogs in our care, having the knowledge, experience, strength and confidence to personally handle more challenging dogs and situations
• Design, and help the Kennel and Animal Carers to implement, individualised wellbeing and enrichment programmes to keep each dog physically and mentally healthy whilst they are with us and have the knowledge and prior experience to make each dog’s plan bespoke to them considering a variety of drivers including play styles, energy levels, sociability, guarding behaviours, preferences, and sources of frustration.
• Liaise with foster families caring for Mayhew dogs at the direction of the Head of Kennels as required
• Undertake each dog’s Rehoming Assessment, working with the Head of Kennels and Dog Adoption Officer to ensure the right rehoming criteria are set on an individual basis. We don’t take a computer-says-no approach, we want to move mountains to find each dog a successful home.
• Be involved in rehoming our longer staying dogs, including interviewing potential adopters
• Perform practical sessions with adopters as part of the rehoming process to ensure that training and behaviour techniques Mayhew has put in place successfully transfer with the dog to their new carer and environment
• Work in accordance with Mayhew’s policies and be experienced, responsible and compassionate to be fully involved in the tough decisions which sometimes face all rescues.
• Be up to date with the relevant UK legislation on dogs and safety
• Stay up to date with the fascinating and continually-developing science of canine behaviour and well-being
• Come to work each day up-beat, positive and ready to make a real difference.

To be successful in this role, you need:

• Experience working hands-on with rescue dogs in the shelter environment
• At least 2 years’ experience within an applied canine behaviourist / rehabilitation role, working with dogs with differing behavioural challenges
• Experience of delivering dog to dog desensitisation and socialisation programs
• Proven experience of a flexible and can-do approach, successfully juggling competing priorities and calmly handling multiple or complex issues in an operational environment.
